Selena Gomez's Mom Says She's 'Not Happy' Her Daughter Is Dating Justin Bieber Again

In recent weeks, rumors regarding the newly rekindled romance between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been flying—particularly those speculating that the relationship between the on-again, off-again couple has been causing mounting problems between the star and her mother, Mandy Teefey. (Take, for example, reports that Gomez’s family didn’t invite Bieber to Christmas.)

But in a recent interview with Gossip Cop, Teefey shut down tabloid speculation that her daughter’s romance with Bieber has been causing a seismic rift between the mother-daughter duo. “Every mother and daughter has disagreements,” the producer—who worked alongside Gomez on the hit 2017 Netflix series 13 Reasons Why—told the outlet.

Teefey went on to explain that perceptions of her relationship with her daughter have been significantly skewed by gossip columns over the years—especially with respect to those that have cited either Gomez’s relationship with Bieber, or the fact that Teefey no longer professionally manages Gomez’s career, as the root cause for familial issues. Explained the Hollywood producer: “I do not control her the way it has been portrayed.”

But even though she denounced the fact that her daughter’s romance with Bieber was causing any particular issues at home, Teefey did take the conversation as an opportunity to voice her feelings on the relationship.

She says that while “Selena is an adult [who] can make her own choices,” she admittedly was “not happy” about the couple’s latest reunion. Although she’s ultimately not in favor of the relationship, Teefey does acknowledge that her daughter’s happiness is paramount. “Selena can live her life however she wants,” Teefey said, “as long as she is happy, safe, and healthy.”

Serena Williams Is Asking Instagram Moms for Teething Pain Remedies for Her Daughter

In what might be one of her most relevant Instagram posts yet, Serena Williams is asking moms on Instagram and Twitter for help. It turns out that little Alexis Olympia is having teething troubles, as many babies do. Williams reached out on social media to enlist the support of other moms who have been in the same position—and goodness, did they have some advice to share. After all, it’s not an unusual situation, as difficult as it might seem to the parents trying to calm their children.

“Teething- aka the devil – is so hard,” Williams wrote. “Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable. She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep. I’ve tried amber beads… cold towels…. chew on mommies fingers…. homeopathic water (lol on that one) but nothing is working. It’s breaking my heart. I almost need my mom to come and hold me to sleep cause I’m so stressed. Help? Anyone??”

Instagram moms chimed in with lots of help. Several suggested frozen waffles, others frozen teething rings or rubber toys or chilled celery sticks.

“Once she is a bit older I found clove oil works well!” another commiserated. “I pop it on my sons teether! At first he thought it was spicy- now he loves it as recognizes the relief! ?”

Williams posted the same request for advice on Twitter in a two-part message, and she received a ton of support.

“This is every single new parent,” one user wrote. “We’ve all been there. It is so tough and it is completely okay to want your mom and to want sleep and to want to cry for a hundred years. And if you haven’t consider calling your paediatrician and talking the best way to use baby pain relief so she can get a little sleep (ie alternating types etc) and so can you.”

Practical advice also came in spades: “Rubbing her gums helps with the pain of teething. Also try some harder foods, like a chilled carrot because that will also help ease the pain. If nothing helps, children’s Motrin or any ibuprofen for babies should be okay.”

And when all else fails, Mom is always there to help.

Jennifer Lopez's Daughter Is a Mini J.Lo Singing in This Video

Proud parents tend to become especially proud parents over the holidays, as you might already be noticing on Instagram and Facebook. After all, there’s a lot of family time going on, from trips to seeing grandparents to school holiday performances. And it’s not just the regular dads, either; it’s the cool moms posting their children’s efforts—offkey or not—for all to enjoy.

And by “cool moms,” in this instance, we mean “A-list moms,” and by “A-list moms,” we mean Jennifer Lopez. Having recently decorated a Christmas tree with beau Alex Rodriguez to get into the holiday spirit, Lopez continued with her seasonal activities by attending her 9-year-old daughter Emme’s elementary school holiday show performance. On Friday, J.Lo shared a clip of her daughter singing “Do You Hear What I Hear?” at her “Christmas Pageant 2017,” and it’s basically proof that Emme is the next-gen version of her famous mama.

J.Lo filmed her daughter throughout her performance of the classic holiday carol. At one point, when Emme notices her mom filming her, she breaks into a smile, mimics the next lyric with a grin, and keeps on going with her eyes on the camera like the true budding profesh she is.

Have a watch, below:

‘Tis the season, after all, and celebrities are really getting into their holiday prep this year. Quite a few of them have been getting into the spirit all month, and of course we can’t wait for the parade of ugly Christmas sweaters on Instagram. In the meantime, us normals will be putting the finishing touches on some creative holiday decorations and keeping an eye out to see if anyone takes our very practical suggestion on the whole Christmas tree brows thing.

Zendaya Found a Secret Lookalike in The Rock's Daughter

The Internet is torn: Either Zendaya is an expert time traveler, or she has an adorable little doppelgänger. Those, apparently, are the only two possible explanations for how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, Jasmine Lia, who will celebrate her second birthday this weekend, looks exactly like a tiny Zendaya.

People first took note of the uncanny resemblance at The Rock’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Wednesday. Jasmine and her mom, The Rock’s longtime partner, Lauren Hashian, accompanied the Moana star to the ceremony, where he was honored with his very own star on the iconic pathway. According to People, The Rock picked up Jasmine partway through his speech to make a point about his life’s purpose. “The hard work, the work you put in with your own two hands—it all comes down to this. It all comes down to your family, and working hard to love and protect and do everything you can to make your family and the ones you love, their lives better,” he said, before Jasmine stole the show by telling her dad “I love you” into the mic. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

As adorable as the father-daughter moment was, people were mostly enraptured by just how much little Jasmine looks like Zendaya. “When they do a Zendaya biopic we know who’ll play her childhood years,” one person tweeted, because we will definitely eventually need a biopic about Queen Z. Others pointed out that the lookalike situation means that Zendaya and The Rock can easily play daughter and dad in an award-winning comedy film. And a few more hypothesized that Jasmine and Zendaya aren’t two separate people at all, but one Zendaya time traveling back and forth, which, sure? Zendaya herself even commented on the #twinning situation, retweeting a few photos of Jasmine and adding, “OMG ????.”

Ava Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon's Daughter, Made Her Debut in Paris Looking Like a Real-Life Princess

Reese Witherspoon’s look-alike daughter Ava Phillippe made her official society debut in Paris on Saturday night. And not only did she look like a real-life princess in her shimmering gold tea-length gown, she waltzed like one, too. (Hey, she might not be royalty-royalty, but she’s definitely Hollywood royalty.)

With her famous mom escorting her, the 18-year-old attended the Bal des Debutantes at the Peninsula Paris hotel. The event, which is in its 25th year, brings together around 20 young girls from around the world to celebrate their entry into society.

Phillippe looked incredible in a gold, long-sleeved Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown that was basically made for the Kira Kira app (so shimmery). Before the event, she posed on the red carpet with Witherspoon, who looked beyond proud and wore a black floral embellished gown and black fur coat.

The debutante entered the ballroom with her dapper escort for the night, Maharaja Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, who was dressed to the nines in a formal tuxedo. According to People, he’s known in Parisian circles as “Pacho,” has been known to polo with royalty—in particular, future heir to the British throne Prince William—and is a member of India’s national team for the sport.

The duo took to the dance floor for a waltz to a song from La La Land—and the pair practically looked like professionals as they twirled around the room. People reported that Singh told journalists he only learned the waltz steps only a few weeks before, so sign this duo up for Dancing With the Stars. They were that good.

Steve Harvey’s daughter, Lori, was among the other debutantes there. The two American women join the ranks of other celebrity debs including Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ children, Scout and Tallulah Willis, as well as Sylvester Stallone’s daughter, Sophia Rose Stallone, who have also attended the spectacular Parisian event.

Viola Davis Won't Let Her Daughter Dress Like a Princess Unless She Has Natural Hair

In between being nominated for all the acting awards and being a damn inspiration, Viola Davis spends a fair amount of time going to bat for women of color. She did at last year’s Oscars, at the 2015 Emmys, and she did it again this afternoon by sharing a very important rule she has for her daughter.

We all know that women of color face discrimination everyday—from the workplace to the makeup counter—and Davis never allows a moment of personal achievement to pass without reminding the world of this imbalance. Still, at the same, she celebrates the power of black women (see the straight up transcendence of any one of her acceptance speeches). So it’s not surprising that she brings the same fire and fierce affection for blackness to raising her daughter. When it comes to playing dress up, Genesis, age 6, is given the full range of Disney princesses and superheroes to choose from, but Davis draws one line.

“I say, ‘You’ve gotta wear your hair exactly the way it is,” Davis told Yahoo Lifestyle. “You can be Wonder Woman, but you gotta be Wonder Woman with your hair. You can be Elsa, but you gotta be Elsa with your hair.’”

The news is run through with stories detailing the obstacles that women of color face simply for living life with natural hair and this uncomfortable truth makes Davis’s rule all the more meaningful. She goes on to explain that she tells her daughter she can be anyone she wants, “if you start with the palette of loving who you are.” Cue total and absolute sense of affirmation.

Judging by Davis’s throwback Instagram post below, this rule has been in place for some time.

And judging by this Instagram post, it’s giving Genesis a sense of self-worth that is truly exceptional:
