Rihanna, Relatable Bridesmaid, Dodged the Bouquet at Her Friend's Wedding This Weekend

Rihanna wears many hats—singer, actress, makeup mogul—but this weekend she dropped all of them to be a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding.

Yes: Over the weekend, the “Wild Thoughts” singer served as a bridesmaid for her longtime pal Sonita Alexander’s wedding in Barbados, E! reports. For the occasion, Rihanna wore a cobalt blue silk dress with flutter sleeves and makeup to match. Take note for the next time you complain about bridesmaid duties: Even Rihanna’s done ’em!

Rihanna posted a shot on Instagram of herself and Alexander getting ready for the big day, showing off a pouty, high-gloss lip and bright blue eyeliner under her eyes. She also showed off her and Alexander’s matching silk “bride” and “bridesmaids” robes, which prove that stars and their friends really are just like the rest of us.

And even though Rihanna is an international superstar, pictures from the wedding prove she went out of her way to ensure Alexander was front and center. In most of the shots, RiRi is hanging out in the background, and the spotlight is very clearly on the bride. She also wore the same dress, hair, and makeup as the rest of the bridal party—you know, as normal bridesmaids do.

This isn’t the first time Rihanna’s served as a bridesmaid. In 2015, she took on the role at her friend Jennifer Rosales’s wedding in Hawaii.

As for when Rihanna’s own wedding might occur, if her behavior around the bouquet is any indication, it won’t be for quite some time. When Alexander tossed her bouquet into the crowd (per tradition) Rihanna ducked to avoid it. Someone caught the whole thing on video, and it was expectedly amazing. Click here to see that.

Beyoncé and Rihanna Fans Are Actually Feuding Over Which 'Vogue' Cover Is Better

The September issue of Vogue is typically the most talked about of the year, and this time it featured not one but two icons on the cover: Beyoncé, for American Vogue, and Rihanna for British Vogue. On Beyoncé’s U.S.-based cover, the singer stuns in a white Victorian-esque prairie dress in front of a white sheet, her smize in full effect. Meanwhile, Rihanna sports dainty brows and orange gloves on her cover as she casually stares into every British Vogue reader’s soul. Rihanna and Bey are each brilliant and talented, but wait: What’s that? They’re both wearing flower crowns on their Vogue covers! The horror!

Obviously, I kid: Bey and Rih are both more than allowed to wear flower crowns at the same time and serve lewks. It appears, however, as if certain segments of their fandoms aren’t too happy the singers are rocking similar vibes. As first reported by BuzzFeed, a few Beyoncé and Rihanna fans are currently at war over which star was the first to wear a flower crown. “Thanks for the Rihanna concept,” one fan replied to Vogue‘s tweet of Beyoncé’s cover, while another wrote, “Hmmm seems a bit like @BritishVogue cover with Rihanna to me?” More fans soon came out of the woodwork with receipts, comebacks, and ad hominem attacks.

Thankfully, the fans pitting Beyoncé and Rihanna against each other are in the minority. There are plenty more Twitter commentators who jumped in and declared that both women look terrific on their covers, and casually revived flower crowns in the process. We couldn’t agree more.

Rihanna Is Bringing Back Skinny Brows, and the Internet Isn't Ready

It’s hard for Rihanna to make a wrong move. In fact, just writing that feels out of bounds—if Rihanna chose to do something, she must have her reasons. Leg stubble? She’s revolutionizing beauty. That said, her latest look is stirring up some strong feelings. On the cover of British Vogue‘s September issue, Rihanna, ever a beauty visionary, is wearing the tiniest, most over-the-top pencil thin brows to be seen on a celebrity in what feels like forever, and Twitter is distressed.

As Rihanna’s Instagram caption explains, the look was created in collaboration with Isamaya Ffrench who’s a celebrity makeup artist known for pushing the boundaries of makeup in a very avant-garde, Alexander McQueen-ish way. Ffrench used Fenty, because of course, although the exact products aren’t listed (if Fenty drops a 1-millimeter brow pencil next the Internet would surely implode). As is, her brows look like they plausibly could’ve been the work of Flyliner, Fenty’s newly-launched liquid liner.

The images Vogue came up with are beautiful, but the Internet’s reactions were immediate and hardline: No, please, Rihanna, NO. Don’t lure us back to the early aughts skinny brow trend, we didn’t go all-in on Boy Brow and microblading for this. We’ve bought brow serums and hundreds of products to escape the horrors that these brows did. Don’t let a new generation suffer.

There are divisions. Some people say, just because Rihanna wore it on set doesn’t mean we’re seeing the start of an actual real-life trend. They have a point; insane brow styles pop up on Instagram all the time, and we haven’t seen those make the jump.

But other people, they beg to differ.

However: we could always do worse.

Rihanna Says Having Her 'Thicc' Body 'Comes With a Price'

Rihanna has never been one to shy away from discussing (or joking about) her “fluctuating body type.” And in her history-making cover interview for the September 2018 issue of British Vogue, she spoke to editor in chief Edward Enninful about being “thicc.”

At one point during the conversation, Enninful asked Rihanna what it’s like to be the woman other women “fancy,” E! News reports. “Okay, you’re asking the wrong person,” she replied. “I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m ‘thicc’ now. I don’t know.” RiRi went on to discuss her worries about how quickly that “thicc” figure can disappear. “I’m about to get back into the gym and stuff, and I hope I don’t lose my butt or my hips or all of my thighs. I’ll lose some, but not all,” she said. “And I think of my boobs, like, ‘Imma lose everything, everything goes!’ But, you know, it comes with a price. You want to have a butt, then you have a gut.”

These comments come almost exactly a year after the Fenty Beauty founder opened up to The Cut about learning to dress her ever-changing body type. “I actually have had the pleasure of a fluctuating body type, where one day I can literally fit into something that is bodycon, and then the next day—the next week—I need something oversize; I need a little crop here and a high-waist there to hide that part, you know?” she said. “I really pay attention every day when I go into the closet about what’s working for my body that morning. I feel like that’s how everyone should go after fashion, because it’s an individual thing. And then, if you take it further, it’s like: What week are you having? You having a skinny week? You having a fat week? Are we doing arms this week? We doing legs this week? We doing oversize?”

Rihanna also spoke to British Vogue about how, beyond being a queen of body-positivity, she also makes an effort to surround herself with only the most equally positive people. “I’m very picky about friends. I don’t like to open myself up to everyone, and so when you find people who are great and loyal, you don’t want to let go of that,” the 30-year-old said. “I’ve been out here on my own since I was a teenager, so these people become like your family.”

The September 2018 issue of British Vogue—featuring Rihanna’s already-iconic cover images and the rest of her interview—hits newsstands this Friday, August 3.

Rihanna Responded to Memes of Her Arguing with Her Boyfriend By Trolling Us All

The internet should know by now, Rihanna is the reigning queen of…well, everything. That especially includes memes, which Rihanna has been the subject of many times before—including one circulated within the past 24 hours centered around a series of photos of Rihanna and her boyfriend Hassan Jameel engaged in what many assumed was a fight. The joke’s on everyone else, though, because Rihanna responded by trolling us all.

BadGalRiRi posted a photo on Instagram of a female lion roaring a male lion into submission in a corner, a winking nod to the photos of her raising her hand while talking to Jameel as he leaned away from her. The caption? “When u think u know more bout soccer ??? #worldcup2018.”

Whether or not Rihanna and Jameel were arguing about soccer, Rihanna is an undisputed World Cup connoisseur. The last one, in 2014, she cheered on Germany from the sidelines in Brazil, in between hanging out with the team, flashing her bra when they beat Argentina, and actually holding the team’s trophy, which, no, is not a thing that normal celebrities get to do.

Rihanna actually broke FIFIA protocol by holding the trophy—not to mention kissing it and taking selfies with it—as only the winners and heads of state are allowed to hold them, according to Pulse. But, because she’s Rihanna, no consequences ever materialized. She wasn’t the only one who did, though, as The Daily Mail also published pictures of Sami Khedira’s girlfriend Lena Gercke hugging it.

As for her relationship with Jameel, Rihanna confirmed that she was in a relationship back in May, telling Vogue, “I used to feel guilty about taking personal time, but I also think I never met someone who was worth it before.” While she didn’t confirm her boyfriend’s identity, she has been linked to Jameel since June of 2017. That month they were spotted kissing in Ibiza, where they were later photographed on a subsequent date. Last month, though, it was rumored that they had broken up because Rihanna “gets tired of men sometimes.”

True or not, Rihanna has admitted how exhausting relationships can be before, telling British Vogue in 2011, “I mean it is nice being single in one way, because a relationship can feel like a chore, and that’s not good. That’s not what I need.” Rihanna needs all of the energy she can get right now, at least until this Sunday, when the final World Cup game between France and Croatia airs.

A Talk Show Host Just Called Out Rihanna on Her Iconic Wine Glass Heists

Rihanna and four other members of the Ocean’s 8 cast—namely, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, and Helena Bonham Carter—appeared on The Graham Norton show last night to promote the film’s much-anticipated international release. But the movie wasn’t the only heist (did you see those box-office numbers??) to be talked about on the show: The show’s eponymous host, Graham Norton, had a little bone to pick to Rihanna about her iconic, repeated, heist-y behavior of her own. Behavior that includes an alleged appropriation of wine glasses from public drinking establishments.

While Norton is just grilling Rihanna on her habit now, eagle-eyed RiRi fans have been loving her crystalline accessory on social media since 2016. One Twitter user in particular, Josh Edwards, went so far as to create a dedicated, comprehensive thread for the wine glass sightings instance on his account.

“All I’m saying is, watch yourself around Rihanna,” Norton started off by saying. “Now, Rihanna. I don’t know if you know how criminal you are.”

Norton then presented the audience with intense photographic evidence of Rihanna, time after time, smuggling glasses out of establishments and onto the street. He started with a 2013 photo of the pop powerhouse holding a glass on the street. (Yes, it seems this habit has been going on for at least half a decade.) He then proceeded, bravely, to ask RiRi, “Did you ask permission from the club when you left holding this glass?”

Rihanna had an excellent retort: “That might have been one I took to the club.”

“What about this one? Did you ask about that glass?” Norton said after he showed his second piece of photographic evidence of Rihanna. He then proceeded to show four more instances in which the “Wild Thoughts” singer left with various different wine glasses in hand. Norton topped it off with the grand finale: Rihanna holding an entire bottle of wine.

Below, a few instances of Rihanna taking her wine to go:

After sufficient proof of her “crimes”, Rihanna conceded his point. Mostly though, she was worried about what her mom, Monica Fenty, would think: “My mom is going to see this,” she conceded. “Sorry, Mom!”
