Kim Kardashian Just Responded to Taylor Swift and Kanye West's Resurfaced ‘Famous’ Phone Call

Kim Kardashian has finally weighed in on that new footage of her husband, Kanye West, and Taylor Swift on the phone in 2016 discussing his song “Famous”—well, sort of.

In case you were socially distancing from the internet over the weekend, here’s what happened. Never-before-seen video footage of that phone call—where the two artists discuss the lyrics for West’s then-new song “Famous”—made its way online. Remember, the crux of the drama has to do with these specific lyrics on the song: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”

The additional footage appears to show that Swift was not aware the word “bitch” would be used, something she has always claimed. West is also heard asking Swift to promote the single to her millions of fans. “I’m glad it’s not mean, though,” Swift said on the call. “It doesn’t feel mean, but like, oh my God, the build-up you gave it. I thought it was gonna be like, ‘That stupid, dumb bitch,’ like, but it’s not.” Swifties took it as total vindication for their favorite.

Kim Kardashian (who first mentioned the footage existed in a 2016 GQ interview and then released it on Snapchat) hasn’t commented directly about this latest development. She did, however, “like” a telling tweet from a fan account that said, “The video showed nothing new. We all knew that. I’m so confused right now.”

Swift took a similar approach by liking a number of Tumblr posts discussing the matter. One showed a baby sleeping and read, “How I sleep at night knowing we were right all this time and now we have receipts to prove it.” Another said, “WHO WAS TELLING THE TRUTH THE ENTIRE TIME?” with a photo of Swift pointing at herself.

And that, friends, is the latest in a narrative that might never end.

Emma From ‘Friends’ Just Hilariously Responded to Chandler’s 2020 Joke

Let me take you back to an episode of season nine from Friends: The gang has gathered for Rachel and Ross’s daughter Emma’s first birthday, and decide to make a video that they’ll gift her when she turns 18. Naturally, Chandler makes a joke in said video. “Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020,” he says. (The character Emma was born in 2002, making her 18 in 2020.) “Are you still enjoying your nap?”

Well, it’s officially 2020, and one of the women who played Emma, Noelle Sheldon, has responded to Chandler’s joke. “Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!! (ft. my poorly done photoshop) Hope everyone has an excellent year full of family, friends, and laughter!!” she wrote on Instagram alongside a pic of herself photoshopped into Central Perk. So Chandler was right: Emma really did nap for 18 years straight. (I kid.)

Check out Sheldon’s post for yourself, below:

And if you need help remembering the reference, here’s the clip from Friends season nine:

Noelle Sheldon and her twin sister, Cali, both played Emma on Friends. They surged back into the spotlight last year when fans learned they played the creepy twins in Jordan Peele’s horror movie Us.

Friends, meanwhile, is officially off Netflix and won’t return to another streaming platform until May. That’s when HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service, will start serving as the home to the beloved sitcom.

“HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of WarnerMedia to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform,” WarnerMedia Entertainment and direct-to-consumer chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement last year. “HBO’s world-class programming leads the way, the quality of which will be the guiding principle for our new array of Max Originals, our exciting acquisitions, and the very best of the Warner Bros. libraries, starting with the phenomenon that is Friends.

Selena Gomez Just Responded to Bella Hadid Deleting an Instagram She Commented On

After some time out of the public eye, Selena Gomez is definitely back in the spotlight with two new songs—that many think are about her ex, Justin Bieber—and a renewed social media presence.

Now, whether she intended to or not, the pop star finds herself in the middle of a possible internet drama with supermodel Bella Hadid. As with so many things online, there’s a lot of speculation going on here, but let’s see if we can break this down for anyone who doesn’t follow these two closely.

This drama seems to be rooted in the 2017 tabloid love triangle that happened between Hadid, The Weekend, and Gomez. For context, Hadid and The Weeknd have been dating on and off since 2015. But when they were apart in January 2017, he started seeing Gomez, at which time Hadid unfollowed Gomez on Instagram. Then, Gomez and The Weeknd unfollowed Hadid. Last year, Hadid and The Weeknd got back together before breaking up, yet again. At some point in between, Gomez re-followed Hadid on IG and, over the weekend, commented, “Stunning ?” on one of her posts.

Then, without explanation, Hadid deleted the entire post. While many online surmised this was because of Gomez’s comment, there’s no way to know Hadid’s true intention. Whatever the case, Gomez is bummed about the move. A fan account, @selssbrina, published a post about the situation and mentioned that Hadid had deleted the post Gomez commented on. The “Look at Her Now” singer saw said fan post and left a simple but telling reply: “That sucks ?.”

Instagram/@selssbrina

But don’t take this as a sign that Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid are feuding. Like we said, Hadid could’ve deleted her post for a number of reasons. And while Gomez’s reply to the fan account implies she’s hurt, we don’t know anything for sure. SelGo has made it clear in the past, though, that she has no time for petty fodder like this. When fans tried to pit her and Hailey Bieber against each other following the release of her song “Love You to Lose Me” (which is probably about Justin), she shut it down.

“I am so grateful for the response of the song,” she said on Instagram Stories. “However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down. So please be kind to everyone. Please be kind, I don’t like seeing people being disrespectful or rude to other people, so please don’t do that.”

Demi Lovato Just Responded to Claims She Shaded Taylor Swift by Skipping the VMAs

Demi Lovato was noticeably absent from the MTV VMAs on Monday, August 26, and when she wrote on Instagram that she skipped the awards ceremony “for a reason,” speculation began almost immediately. People started wondering if the message was a subtle dig at Taylor Swift, who opened the show and went on to win three awards. But Lovato stopped the rumor mill in its tracks with a follow-up story that instructed everyone to “stop reaching.”

Lovato revealed this morning that she was a no-show at the ceremony because she nabbed an exciting role on the final season of Will & Grace. After sharing the news, she was quick to dispel accusations that her original comment was directed at Swift. “Btw.. I didn’t ‘shade’ anyone last night. My REASON for not going is because I’m literally living my dream being on Will & Grace rn so stop reaching thaaaaannnnkkssss,” she wrote in one of her stories.

Fans may have started jumping to conclusions because Swift and Lovato do have somewhat of a fraught relationship. In 2016, Lovato seemingly knocked Swift’s early brand of feminism to Glamour, saying, “Don’t brand yourself a feminist if you don’t do the work.”

Instagram

Lovato continued in that same interview, “To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real.” (Swift famously had a “squad” of girlfriends a few years back.)

Things seemed to get tense again when the whole Swift-Scooter Braun drama went down earlier this summer. Lovato, who is Braun’s client, said on social media, ““I have dealt with bad people in the industry and Scooter is not one of them. He’s a good man.”

Still, despite what their past issues have been, Demi Lovato doesn’t want words put in her mouth. It sounds like she wants to spend her time celebrating her Will & Grace moment instead of entertaining gossip.

Michelle Obama Responded to Trump's Latest Twitter Rant Against Baltimore

As former First Lady Michelle Obama once famously said, “When they go, we go high”—and that’s exactly what it appears she’s doing following President Donald Trump‘s latest Twitter rant. Only a week after a racially charged Twitter attack on four female congresswomen of color, Trump lashed out on Saturday (July 27) at Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, attacking both Cummings personally and his district in Baltimore.

“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA,” Trump wrote. “As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

The attack, which Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and many others also called out as racist, likely stems from some recent political drama: NPR reported that on Thursday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee, a committee overseen by Cummings, voted to authorize subpoenas for records of senior White House officials’ to ascertain their use of personal emails and text services for work purposes.

Cummings quickly responded to Trump’s tweet, writing in reply, “Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents.”

Obama was among those who quickly defended Cummings—and Baltimore—on Twitter. Her response was subtle, but extremely classy: She clapped back against the President’s invective with a tweet highlighting one of her favorite Baltimore organizations, the Lethal Ladies.

“On #NationalDanceDay, I’m shouting out the Lethal Ladies, a Baltimore STEP team who I saw perform back in 2017. I’m so proud of you all—and everyone who’s dancing today,” she tweeted, along with a short video of their performance.

In the video, the young women not only display their talents but send their own powerful message as well.

“What Michelle Obama taught us when someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level,” their instructor says adding, “Our motto is…” Then, the young women reply in their dance, “When they go low, we go high/Raise our standards to the sky.” Hear, hear.

Taylor Swift Just Responded to Rumors She and Katy Perry Kiss in Her New Video

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have a long and complicated history, dating back publicly to 2009. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses: The friendly relationship between two of the world’s biggest pop stars allegedly soured in 2013—but now Swift and Perry are now back on good terms. We know about this thanks to an Instagram post on Perry’s feed this week featuring a plate of cookies that says, “Peace at last” with the caption, “feels good ? @taylorswift.” Swift, for her part, responded with several beating-heart emoji.

Now that they’re pals again, rumors swirled that there might be a collaboration in the works. Some fan theories took things even further, reports People, by speculating about the music video for the just-released “You Need to Calm Down,” which many see as an anti-hate, pro-LGBTQ+ song—and one person had a question about it for Swift. As they wrote on Tumblr, “Hey uhhhh @taylorswift not to question you but you do know there’s a leaked concept that you and katy dress as fries and a burger and kiss. you do know that’s dumb, right? please tell me you know it’s dumb.”

With any Taylor Swift project, there are always a ton of theories floating around the internet—and she’s even admitted to hiding Easter eggs in videos and posts for her fans to analyze. But Swift is also known for dipping into her fans’ posts and commenting on the validity of such rumors—and she chose to do just that this time.

Her answer? It’s a hard no.

“GUYS. That is ABSOLUTELY false. To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting. Anyone trying to twist this positivity into something it isn’t needs to calm down. It costs zero dollars to not step on our gowns. ?✌️” (See how she worked in a few lyrics from her latest single, “You Need to Calm Down” in there?)

A fan account captured the entire exchange and posted it to Instagram, which you can see below.

Although it might be fun to see Perry bust out her Met Gala burger costume one more time, we have to agree with Swift’s thinking here. That said, these two collaborating on a track? That’s definitely on our wish list.
