Hannah Brown Makes a Shocking Return in the Latest Trailer for The Bachelor

In a second scene, Brown and Weber are sitting very close together on a couch and looking extremely cozy, while the other women in the house seem to be spying on them. “I’m making decisions for my heart,” Brown says. “Because I know there’s still something there. And I would do anything for a relationship.” Then, he makes a shocking ask: “Hannah Brown, what I’m about to say is extremely crazy. What would you say if I asked you to come and be part of the house?”

Of course, we don’t get to hear her answer—but it would appear that this season is going to be very interesting indeed. Weber, of course, finished third in Brown’s season of The Bachelorette and she told People afterward that she cared very deeply for him. “I was in love with Peter,” she said. “I was pulled into different directions every other day. But I had to make a decision. I felt like my heart was broken.”

From the trailer, we also learn that Weber apparently has sex with at least one of the women in the house. “I don’t want this just to feel like it’s all about sex, but I have been intimate. I can’t lie to you about that,” he says. We also hear one contestant tell him, “You can’t do these things with other women or I’m leaving.”

The Bachelor premieres January 6 at 8 PM ET on ABC.

Hailey Baldwin Responds to Fans Saying Her Latest Instagram Story Is Selena Gomez Shade

Selena Gomez’s new song, “Lose You to Love Me,” has been out for less than 24 hours, and there is already so much drama surrounding it. As soon as it dropped, fans speculated that the lyrics were about Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, who is now married to Hailey Baldwin. Then Baldwin posted a screenshot of the single “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker and Jhené Aiko to her Instagram Stories, and people speculated this was in response to Gomez’s new music. Now Baldwin is slamming those rumors and asking people to “please stop with this nonsense.”

On its official Instagram account, celebrity-gossip outlet Just Jared posted about Baldwin’s “I’ll Kill You” photo and wrote that fans believe it was a “pointed response” to Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.” Baldwin wrote back directly but deleted her comment shortly after. But Just Jared has a screenshot over on its website, and it shows that Baldwin wrote simply, “Please stop with this nonsense. There is no ‘response.’ This is complete BS.”

This isn’t the first time that the gossip mill has piled up on Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Hailey Baldwin. Bieber wrote a message on Instagram earlier this year after fans accused him of marrying Baldwin “to get back at Selena.” “I absolutely loved Selena she will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heals in love with my wife and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has happened to me period,” he said.

Gomez didn’t address who or what her new song is about when she shared it. She only alluded to a break she’s taken from public life to focus on her mental health by thanking fans for their support and encouragement. “Thank you all for standing by my side through the highs and lows. I couldn’t do it without you all and I can’t wait to start my next adventure with you. ‘Lose You To Love Me’ is out now,” she wrote on Twitter.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Latest Vacation Is Causing Controversy

Elton John is not here for the latest controversy surrounding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

For context: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just returned from a vacation at John’s palatial estate in the South of France. They traveled to and from the quick jaunt via private jet, which some are branding as hypocritical due to the couple’s environmentalism work. One tabloid even referred to Prince Harry and Markle’s mode of transportation as “gas-guzzling.”

But John is coming to the royals’ defense. It turns out the pop icon both paid for Markle and Prince Harry’s private jet and ensured it was carbon neutral—thus shutting down all the people who think they aren’t practicing what they preach. (According to the cyber-gear initiative Go Green, making something “carbon neutral” means calculating how much a flight makes in greenhouse emissions and then donating that amount to a charity or project that’s striving to reduce emissions.)

“I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week,” John wrote on Twitter. “Prince Harry’s mother, Diana Princess Of Wales, was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death. After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.”

John continued, “To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint™. I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis.”

Read Liam Hemsworth's Latest Statement on His Split From Miley Cyrus

Liam Hemsworth is reportedly in Australia with his older brother, Chris, riding out the frenzy surrounding news that he and Miley Cyrus are splitting after less than a year of marriage. (The couple first started dating nearly 10 years ago.)

While Cyrus has been actively posting on Instagram, Hemsworth has remained offline. Until now. Yesterday there were reports that he had spoken briefly to a Daily Mail reporter, saying, “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it, mate.” But in his latest Instagram post, the actor says he has not talked to any journalists and isn’t planning to any time soon.

“Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote, alongside a beautiful photo of a sunset. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

Hemsworth’s latest statement comes amid reports in People that Cyrus “really fought to make” their relationship work. A source also tells the magazine, “She wanted to go to therapy. She just wants to be in a healthy and focused place.”

The couple married last December not long after their Malibu home was destroyed by wildfires. “Miley took [the fire] a lot harder than Liam did, and he is the one who helped her get through it and realize everything would be OK,” a source told People. “She even said it all the time herself, that he was her ‘survival partner.’ She took their commitment to marriage seriously and was so excited about being married once she realized it’s what she wanted.”

We’ll keep you posted with any more updates as they come in.

Michelle Obama Responded to Trump's Latest Twitter Rant Against Baltimore

As former First Lady Michelle Obama once famously said, “When they go, we go high”—and that’s exactly what it appears she’s doing following President Donald Trump‘s latest Twitter rant. Only a week after a racially charged Twitter attack on four female congresswomen of color, Trump lashed out on Saturday (July 27) at Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, attacking both Cummings personally and his district in Baltimore.

“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA,” Trump wrote. “As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

The attack, which Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and many others also called out as racist, likely stems from some recent political drama: NPR reported that on Thursday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee, a committee overseen by Cummings, voted to authorize subpoenas for records of senior White House officials’ to ascertain their use of personal emails and text services for work purposes.

Cummings quickly responded to Trump’s tweet, writing in reply, “Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents.”

Obama was among those who quickly defended Cummings—and Baltimore—on Twitter. Her response was subtle, but extremely classy: She clapped back against the President’s invective with a tweet highlighting one of her favorite Baltimore organizations, the Lethal Ladies.

“On #NationalDanceDay, I’m shouting out the Lethal Ladies, a Baltimore STEP team who I saw perform back in 2017. I’m so proud of you all—and everyone who’s dancing today,” she tweeted, along with a short video of their performance.

In the video, the young women not only display their talents but send their own powerful message as well.

“What Michelle Obama taught us when someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level,” their instructor says adding, “Our motto is…” Then, the young women reply in their dance, “When they go low, we go high/Raise our standards to the sky.” Hear, hear.

New York Is the Latest State to Ban Discrimination Against Natural Hair

New York is officially the second state to make it illegal for employers to discriminate against employees because of the way they wear their hair.

Last week, Governor Andrew Cuomo passed Assembly Bill 07797, legislation that would “prohibit race discrimination based on natural hair or hairstyles.” This law will also impact previous efforts to curb discrimination in the state. For example, it will solidify recently introduced human rights guidelines, which called for the protection of citizens’ right to wear natural hair, treated or untreated, in hairstyles such as locs, cornrows, twists, braids, or Bantu knots. The bill is also an amendment to New York state’s Human Rights Law and Dignity for All Students Act, which outlines racial discrimination as “traits historically associated with race, including but not limited to hair texture and protective hairstyles.”

The signing of this law comes on the heels of California’s recently enacted CROWN Act, which made the state the first in the country to ban employers from discriminating against people with natural hair. “By introducing the bill, I wanted to use it as an opportunity to educate my colleagues about the unique experience and opportunities of having black hair. I didn’t want them to see it as a negative,” Los Angeles Democratic senator Holly Mitchell told Glamour. “Because of my natural hair texture, I have the unique opportunity to wear these amazing natural hairstyles.”

Through the bill, Mitchell also aimed to highlight that locs are no less “professional” than straightened hair or a blowout. “Our knowledge and ideas of what’s ‘appropriate,’ what’s ‘professional,’ what’s ‘beautiful,’ are based on a very Eurocentric standard,” she said. “This bill and my mere presence in presenting the bill was going to challenge that.”

New York becoming the second state to pass this type of anti-discrimination law sends a powerful message to women who have faced issues in the workplace because of how they wear their hair. A recent study from Dove found that black women are 50% more likely to be sent home, or to know a black woman who has been sent home from work because of her hair. Which doesn’t even account for the countless microagressions women face when wearing their hair natural in school or at work.

While it’s too soon to tell how cases of discrimination will be handled under these new laws, it’s a vital step in the right direction for workplace inclusion.
