Peter Weber and Madison Prewett's Breakup Wouldn't Be Complete Without Shade From Barb


Yes, Peter Weber and Madison Prewett broke up just days after announcing their relationship during The Bachelor live finale, but did his mom, Barb, have to rub it in?

“Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” He wrote in an Instagram caption on Friday, March 13. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Prewett also took to the platform to address the split. “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things,” she wrote. “I will always love and respect him,” she wrote. “I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.”

But these two weren’t only ones hitting up the ‘gram today. Peter’s mom, Barbara Weber—who repeatedly expressed disdain for Peter’s final choice on live, national television—also posted a cryptic, shady post on social media. In the video, Barb sings John Denver’s “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” with two of her friends. “Love you guys,” she captioned the post.

After telling host Chris Harrison, in no uncertain terms, that “[Peter] has to fail to succeed,” and that “all his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it’s not going to work,” Barb doubled-down on her views after the cameras stopped rolling. “There’s nothing for me to apologize for,” she told Life & Style on March 12.

Barb may have gotten exactly what she wanted, but Harrison has since described her relationship with Peter as “damaged” in a candid interview with Glamour. It looks like there were no real winners here. Except for, maybe, Hannah Ann.

Taylor Swift Is Reportedly ‘Proud’ of Selena Gomez for Throwing So Much Shade at Justin Bieber


Selena Gomez doesn’t mention Justin Bieber by name in her two new songs, “Look at Her Now” and “Lose You to Love Me,” but many fans believe he’s the inspiration. And if that’s the case, she’s throwing some serious shade his way. Both songs contain pointed, emotional lyrics like, “Of course she was sad / But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet,” and “In two months, you replaced us / Like it was easy.”

It’s the most vulnerable Gomez has ever been in her music—and one person who’s proud of her for this is her good friend Taylor Swift. According to Us Weekly, the Lover singer is proud of Gomez for taking Bieber to task in these songs.

“Taylor Swift is a huge supporter of Selena, and the shade she threw at Justin has made her proud,” an insider tells the outlet.

Take this with a grain of salt, of course. This is a source talking, not Taylor Swift herself. That being said, this is in line with what Swift said on Instagram about Gomez’s new music last week. Specifically about “Lose You to Love Me,” Swift wrote on her IG Stories, “This song is a perfect expression of healing and my absolute favorite song she’s put out yet. A triumph. I love you so much @selenagomez.”

Swift also revealed how proud she is of Gomez in a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. “I’ve watched so much happen in her life and had a front-row seat to so much, and I’m so proud of her,” Swift said. “She is such a revelation because now she’s making her best stuff.”

In her own separate chat with Lowe, Gomez talked about how Swift helped her get through those hard times. “She was frustrated when I was frustrated; she was sad when I was sad,” Gomez said, according to Elle. “I think [my friends] visibly saw me in so much pain. And they didn’t want it for me, but they never stopped loving me.”

Hailey Baldwin Responds to Fans Saying Her Latest Instagram Story Is Selena Gomez Shade


Selena Gomez’s new song, “Lose You to Love Me,” has been out for less than 24 hours, and there is already so much drama surrounding it. As soon as it dropped, fans speculated that the lyrics were about Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, who is now married to Hailey Baldwin. Then Baldwin posted a screenshot of the single “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker and Jhené Aiko to her Instagram Stories, and people speculated this was in response to Gomez’s new music. Now Baldwin is slamming those rumors and asking people to “please stop with this nonsense.”

On its official Instagram account, celebrity-gossip outlet Just Jared posted about Baldwin’s “I’ll Kill You” photo and wrote that fans believe it was a “pointed response” to Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.” Baldwin wrote back directly but deleted her comment shortly after. But Just Jared has a screenshot over on its website, and it shows that Baldwin wrote simply, “Please stop with this nonsense. There is no ‘response.’ This is complete BS.”

This isn’t the first time that the gossip mill has piled up on Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Hailey Baldwin. Bieber wrote a message on Instagram earlier this year after fans accused him of marrying Baldwin “to get back at Selena.” “I absolutely loved Selena she will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heals in love with my wife and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has happened to me period,” he said.

Gomez didn’t address who or what her new song is about when she shared it. She only alluded to a break she’s taken from public life to focus on her mental health by thanking fans for their support and encouragement. “Thank you all for standing by my side through the highs and lows. I couldn’t do it without you all and I can’t wait to start my next adventure with you. ‘Lose You To Love Me’ is out now,” she wrote on Twitter.

Tyler Cameron Just Addressed Rumors He Threw Shade at Hannah Brown


Tyler Cameron and Hannah Brown seem to have gone their separate ways after briefly meeting up following the end of The Bachelorette. Cameron has been spotted repeatedly with Gigi Hadid, and Brown is busy living her life and not caring about the drama. But that hasn’t stopped people from scrutinizing Cameron’s every move, including his social media activity. On Wednesday, September 4, he decided to speak out and address accusations that he’d purposefully liked a post shading Brown.

“Someone DM’d me something that I liked a comment that said I was throwing shade at HB and I must say that is a complete accident. For 1 I am very selective for what I like. 2nd, that girl deserves no shade and nothing but success. She empowers women and deserves all the accolades,” he wrote on Twitter.

He added in two later tweets, “She empowers women and created so much conversation on how women should be treated. I am grateful for our time together and all that I learned from her. Made a joke about ‘clarity’ because that was such a hot topic from the show. Will always support HB and her family. Will never take away from her and her family. Amazing people. Have a great night.”

Brown, who is slated to star on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, recently joked about the rumored Hadid-Cameron romance. “Do you remember that one time I then asked another person out on a date? On national television? After I got un-engaged? And then…just read the tabloids,” she cracked on Cosmopolitan‘s “Expensive Taste Test” series.

But Hannah Brown has also spoken about Tyler Cameron more seriously. She told Entertainment Tonight that she last messaged Cameron when she heard his father was sick, but beyond that, she’s not dwelling on the situation or the gossip.

“I think we were both single and it is his decision to do whatever makes him happy, and so I want my own happiness,” she said. “I’m moving forward.”

Cherry Blond Hair Is the Perfect Shade for Summer


It’s around this time of summer that we’re looking for a way to shake things up a little bit (kind of like that February beauty rut, but make it hot and humid). And although finally going to that new brunch place or trying a yoga class are great, there’s not a lot that can compare to the “new hair, new me” rush switching up your hair color gives you. And while the jury still might be out on what will be the song of the summer, there is one contender and one contender only for hair color trend of the summer, and that’s cherry blond hair.

If you haven’t seen it on your Instagram feed already, let me explain: Picture rose gold hair—but up the saturation on the red and have the blond as the accent, rather than at the forefront, of the shade. It’s vibrant, bright, multidimensional, definitely unexpected, and it’s fun. Plus, there’s a version of it out there for everyone. In other words, it’s the perfect summer hair color.

HelloGiggles, which noted the trend, also called out one of its early adopters: Maisie Williams. The Game of Thrones actress went for a lighter version of the look, with more of a pinkish-red shade that used her base color to add dimension.

You don’t have to do a solid color, either: Weave the shades throughout your hair as highlights instead.

Or go with an ombré look, which is gorgeous on darker shades.

And you can go super-multidimensional, too—I can’t even count the number of shades my eyes are seeing with this look.

Should you be nervous about making a bold leap when it comes to color, try a gloss to start. Last time my hair stylist bleached my hair, we decided to add in a wash of pink with one, just to switch things up a bit from my normal blond. Reader, I loved it. And although we went for a watercolor level of saturation over my hair (I called time when my hair was, confusingly, the color of a carrot), it helped get me comfortable playing with a different color—and imagine how I might look as a cherry blond.

If you’re ready to go all in? Bring pictures of the looks you love to your hair stylist. Because there are so many different variations on this trend—and a lot of it has to do with what base color you’re working with—it’s best to have a visual aid to show your stylist for inspo. (P.S. Glossier Just Made Its Shade Range Way More Inclusive for Women of Color


Glossier knows how to market a product. From its Cloud Paint gel-cream blush to its Lash Slick Mascara, every launch the millennial-favorite brand churns out is met with extreme fanfare—with one glaring exception. Where the brand excels in its pink packaging and “your-skin-but-better” formulations, the shade range has long left women of color with more to be desired.

But this morning, Glossier took a page out of Beyoncé’s book by announcing an unexpected expansion of its most popular complexion products. As part of the rollout, its doubling the number of shades of its Perfecting Skin Tint (which gives coverage somewhere in-between a foundation and a BB Cream) and along with its Stretch Concealer (both will now have 12). While Wowder, its loose blurring powder that previously only came in Light, Medium, and Rich, now comes in five shades. The brand’s also doing away with its naming conventions and instead is now labeling shades from G1 to G12—starting with the richest shades, which is a first for Glossier.

Unsurprisingly, the brand credits the launch to the feedback it got from women of color—most specifically, the concerns raised on Glossier Brown, an Instagram account created by blogger Devin McGhee with a mission to provide a platform and community for people of color. Last year, the account (which showcases the brand’s products on “brown-skinned beauties”) even got the attention of founder Emily Weiss.

McGhee, for her part, is glad the brand finally took feedback into consideration. After all, as Fenty Beauty has proven, any brand that isn’t catering to a larger range of skin tones is getting left in the dust. Your brand can be buzzy, sure, but not catering to diverse women is a definite way to miss out on profit—or perhaps worse in the social media age, face backlash. “Women of color, black women specifically, spend more money than any other demographic on cosmetics,”she says. “I believe this is mainly because we are constantly having to purchase multiple shades and mix our own to find a match. It can be discouraging and slightly taxing on our pockets. But, until there are more women of color in leadership positions at beauty companies, it will continue to affect what is or is not produced for us. If women of color are not amongst the people included in the conversations at the top, it will always show, as it directly affects who is fighting for diversity and inclusion within the beauty industry.”

As brands continue to look inward at their leadership, she says it’s also on execs to foster “simple conversations” around diversity and inclusion. “Glossier has opened the door for the ongoing conversation with me continuously,” she says, adding that the brand has been “genuinely interested” in learning more about what she and her followers have to say.

Given that Glossier Brown has become such a resource for people of color to share hacks and product reccs, it only made sense that McGhee was the first to break the news and share a first look of the products on. “@devinkielle wearing Perfecting Skin Tint in G3, Stretch Concealer in G3, Cloud Paint in Storm, and Haloscope in Topaz. TOMORROW,” she wrote on Instagram. Many Glossier Brown members rushed to the comments with questions about her cryptic caption. “Is G3 a new color range of skin tint/concealer? I have the skin tint in Rich and I think it’s a little too dark and the concealer in skin tint is my skin shade,” one user wrote.

McGhee, who says she previously had to mix two of the original Skin Tints and Stretch Concealers (Deep and Rich) during the winter months for a match, now says her perfect shade is G3: “I definitely feel the new shades provide a truer match to actual skin tone—no more mixing!”
