Katy Perry Is ‘Blooming,’ According to Orlando Bloom's Latest Tribute to His Pregnant Fiancé

Katy Perry’s fiancé Orlando Bloom showed the pregnant pop star and their baby-to-be some love on Instagram just days after the singer announced the couple is expecting their first child, via her music video for “Never Worn White.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean star shared a gorgeous photo of Perry posing in a colourful dress at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 event in Australia, where she performed on March 7.

His sweet post marks the first time Bloom has spoken publicly since Perry confirmed the big news on March 4 in her new music video, debuting her growing belly in a stunning all-white ensemble.

She later told fans during an Instagram Live that she and the actor are “excited” about the baby, admitting, “It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music.”

It was then Bloom’s turn to share his excitement over the news, captioning his sweet tribute, “My babies blooming ❤️.” Bloom also has a 9-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

We see what he did there and we appreciate it. This isn’t the first time the couple has used Bloom’s last name in a bit of cheeky wordplay. When they announced their engagement in February 2019, Perry captioned her Instagram post “full bloom,” which also referenced her flower-shaped ruby and diamond engagement ring.

Following the pregnancy announcement, the “Fireworks” singer also joked on Twitter that she’s “so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore… or carry around a big purse” to hid her baby bump before revealing that the baby was planned.

“Well, it wasn’t on accident,” Perry said in a new interview with SiriusXM’s Mikey Piff. “I’m so grateful for everything that I have been able to do and achieve and all the goals that I’ve been kind of able to check off my list and dreams and the life I’ve lived thus far, and I think I’ve just been trying to create this space in my own life where I’m not running myself too ragged and like, you know, creating space for something new to happen like this. And I think we were both looking forward to this new interval of life and sharing this, so, that’s kind of how it happens, you know?”

Honestly, I’m not seeing any of that friction Perry was talking about between these two.

Chanel Miller’s New Short Film Is a Moving Tribute to the Strength of Survivors Everywhere

Until a few weeks ago, Chanel Miller was known to the public as Emily Doe. A sexual assault survivor—whose powerful impact statement addressed to her assailant, Brock Turner, went viral—Miller chose not to speak out under her own name but instead to let her words stand on their own. That decision, Miller told the New York Times, “let me have a life in which this never happened,” giving her time to still be Chanel and not “the nameless, faceless, half-naked body from this case.”

But earlier this month, the former 2016 Glamour Woman of the Year (then still known as Emily Doe) came forward and announced the release of her memoir, Know My Name. The memoir focuses not just on the trial or its immediate aftermath, but on her life before and since as she’s worked to figure out where she goes from here. With Know My Name now available in bookstores nationwide, Miller has released a short companion film about her experience as a survivor that she wrote and codirected.

“I Am With You” is a five-minute film in four acts, with animation created from Miller’s original illustrations. It’s both an exploration of Miller’s journey to reclaim her voice and a moving love letter to the strength and power of survivors everywhere. “While writing Know My Name, I was constantly drawing as a way of letting my mind breathe, reminding myself that life is playful and imaginative. We all deserve a chance to define ourselves, shape our identities, and tell our stories,” Miller said in a statement. “The film crew that worked on this piece was almost all women. Feeling their support and creating together was immensely healing. We should all be creating space for survivors to speak their truths and express themselves freely. When society nourishes instead of blames, books are written, art is made, and the world is a little better for it.”

You can watch Miller’s beautiful tribute to her healing process in its entirety, below.

American Horror Story: 1984 Is a Brilliant Tribute to Your Favorite '80s Scary Movies

I’ll admit, I was hesitant going into this season of American Horror Story (official name AHS: 1984). For one, it’s the first installment without Sarah Paulson in a main role. Paulson has been a mainstay for the franchise for years and always able to carry each season through any weaker moments. Who could possibly fill those shoes? Besides that, this season’s theme—’80s-era summer camp—is one fans have been hoping to see for years, which means expectations were high. So I went into the premiere last night feeling skeptical.

The good news: This season is good. And scary—like, actually scary.

You see, this isn’t something AHS has been known for lately. Last year’s Apocalypse had only a few frights, and 2017’s Cult was more political commentary than anything. AHS: 1984 marks a creepy return to form for the franchise, packed with classic scares and familiar tropes, which is absolutely a positive thing. Nothing about AHS: 1984 is particularly original, and that’s the point. It’s an homage to iconic slasher films like Friday the 13th and Halloween, and spotting these references is part of the season’s appeal.

The story centers on a group of Los Angeles twenty-somethings (Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, and Gus Kenworthy) who escape the city for the summer to be counselors at the recently reopened Camp Redwood, the site of a 1970s massacre. The serial killer, Mr. Jingles, was arrested and sent to a mental institution. But, surprise surprise, he escapes right as the counselors arrive and has his sights set on them.

Mr. Jingles is a perfect mixture of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers with elements of Freddy Kreuger. As for Camp Redwood, it’s ripped straight from the script of the first Friday the 13th movie. The pilot establishes the framework of a horror story you’ve seen many times before but never gets old. The key players are all there: a timid ingénue (Roberts), the oafish jock (Kenworthy), the oblivious wild child (Lourd). The pop-out scares are abundant, and the chase scenes play out like a choreographed dance. At one point, Roberts’ character, Brooke, is running from who she thinks is Mr. Jingles, and her movements feel almost musical—every trip, slip, and scream was molded by the horror greats of decades past. It’s brilliant.

Of course, creator Ryan Murphy’s touch is all over this. The actual story is tired and true, sure, but he subverts it in a way only he can. Tone-wise, the show is a delightful blend of Scream Queens and the fifth AHS season, Hotel. One minute, you’re unnerved; the next, Gus Kenworthy takes his shirt off and cheekily demands everyone to “check out his bod.” Creepy dialogue about Mr. Jingles is immediately followed by the arrival of Camp Redwood’s activities counselor, Trevor Kirchner (Matthew Morrison), who swigs beer and makes bad sex jokes. The transition between horror and humor on 1984 is frequent and abrupt, which is what we’ve come to love and expect from a Murphy production.

Chrissy Teigen's Anniversary Tribute to John Legend Is Peak Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday (September 14)—and to mark the occasion, the Cravings author shared a tribute to her husband on social media, just like she does every year. And no, her tributes aren’t the usual sappy stuff—who can forget last year’s, when she straight-up called him an asshole? (But, you know, in a loving way.) This year, however, Teigen out-Teigened herself for her most relatable, most Chrissy post yet.

This year, she showed fans exactly what it’s like to be in a committed, loving, years-long relationship by sharing a candid photo, timestamped from Saturday, showing the two in a super-fancy hotel room. But there’s no lovey-dovey moment going on here: Teigen’s slumped in a chair, appearing to sleep with a pair of sunglasses on, while Legend is behind her, engrossed in something on his computer screen. True love at its realest.

“happy anniversary, baby!!!” Teigen captioned the shot.

But it seems things picked up from there: Teigen also showed her followers a glimpse into her anniversary celebrations, which consisted of jetting off to Paris for a one-day romantic getaway. She shared a video on Twitter that opens with a shot of a massive bouquet of flowers before panning to Teigen, who’s sitting in a chair getting her hair and makeup done.

“What the fuck am I even supposed to do with that?” she jokingly says, referring to the flowers.

Legend later responded to the tweet a bit more poetically, writing, “Our love is impeccable and impractical.”

The couple, who have been together for more than 12 years now and continue to define #RelationshipGoals, got married in a romantic ceremony in Lake Como, Italy back in 2013. And it turns out, the two took their dating relationship back in the day to the next level in a very Teigen way, too: As she tweeted earlier this year, “I didn’t date much. I moved in with people. like hello, I live here now. this is how John ended up in this situation.” Gotta love these two—happy anniversary to the lovebirds!

Gigi Hadid Wrote the Sweetest Birthday Tribute to Blake Lively

Blake Lively celebrated her 32nd birthday on Sunday, August 25, and she got a solid dose of hilarious birthday trolling on Instagram from her husband, Ryan Reynolds. But she also received some sweet tributes from her friends, including Gigi Hadid, who dedicated a heartfelt post to Lively on Tuesday.

“It’s this Queen’s birthday week and I just want to say how grateful and lucky I am to have a friend like you, B. You are a real one and inspire me in so many ways,” Hadid wrote in the caption of a photo that shows her and Lively hanging out in someone’s kitchen. “I will only be able to thank you enough by making you endless oatmeal griddle cakes and training your children to be world class disposable-camera photographers. I love you! Wishing you every blessing.”

Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively have been close for a while, and they’ve been photographed hanging out a lot at social events, including costume parties organized by Taylor Swift. (At Swift’s epic 2018 New Year’s Eve bash, Lively was Dorothy and Hadid was Mary Poppins.) Plus, Lively actually had some incredibly thoughtful birthday messages for Hadid on her birthday. When Hadid turned 24 in April (remember that denim-themed party?), Lively showered her in compliments and dedicated entire Instagram stories to how much Hadid means to her.

“You love and celebrate others. You build people up rather than tearing them down. You work so hard. You have so much appreciation. You’re present. And kind,” Lively wrote. She even revealed a couple of things about Hadid’s secret talents: “You’re insanely talented at things that no one is good at—like making chairs from scratch out of resin. And you love everyone around you so fully. I’m happy to know your sweet spirit. Yeah. I just spoke about your spirit. Things have gotten deep.”

Prince Harry Posted the Sweetest Instagram Tribute to Meghan Markle for Her Birthday

Meghan Markle, duchess of Sussex, is celebrating her 38th birthday on Sunday (August 4), and although she’s reportedly keeping things pretty chilled out for her celebration, that doesn’t mean that there’s not going to be some public acknowledgement of her big day. Leave it to Prince Harry, who wrote a super-sweet birthday tribute to Markle via the Sussexes’ official royal Instagram handle, @sussexroyal.

The account shared a photo of Markle smiling brightly and looking elegant in a sky blue shirt dress tied at the waist. “Wishing HRH The Duchess of Sussex a very Happy Birthday ?,” the caption reads.

Prince Harry himself also chimed in in the caption with a public tribute to Markle: “‘Happy Birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!’ – Love, H,” his well-wishes read.

Others left their birthday greetings in the comments, too, including Jameela Jamil and Edward Enninful, the editor in chief of British Vogue who worked with Markle as she guest-edited the magazine’s September issue.

Kensington Palace’s Instagram account, which represents Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the rest of the Cambridges, also wished Markle a happy birthday. No drama here!

“Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! ?” @kensingtonroyal captioned the picture they posted, which features Prince Charles, William, Middleton, Markle, and Harry walking together at Christmas last year.

Markle was initially reported in June to be joining the queen at Balmoral in Scotland to celebrate her big day, but later reports indicate that she’ll be keeping it low-key at Frogmore with a quiet celebration with the family.

“The Sussexes have been so busy this year that I can imagine her birthday will simply involve a well-deserved day of rest with a few friends—and, of course, precious moments with Archie,” royal commentator Omid Scobie said on Friday. Given how full Markle’s plate is—she guest-edited the September issue of British Vogue on maternity leave, after all—here’s hoping she has a wonderfully chill birthday with friends and family.
