Bella Hadid Cut Her Own Bangs While in Quarantine, and They Look Great


Bella Hadid just did something you’ve no-doubt been contemplating while stuck in quarantine: cut her own bangs.

The supermodel took to Instagram Stories on Monday night, April 20 to unveil the new look, and no surprise, it’s great. Bella opted to give herself just some partial bangs, and when swooped to the side, they look totally chic.

It’s unclear what scissors she used for this cut or how, exactly, she went about doing it, but the end result is fire. Here’s hoping this cured at least a few hours of her self-isolation boredom. God knows I’ve killed a few hours just thinking about cutting my own bangs.

But I’ve yet to take the plunge, as Bella Hadid has. This is par for the course for the 23-year-old, who just last week experimented with gray hair. Of course, that turned out to be a filter which made Bella’s look gray; she didn’t actually dye it.

Not that she’s opposed to that, though. Bella loves a good hair transformation. Remember when she went bright blond last summer and looked just like her older sister, Gigi?

Early in her career, Bella dispelled rumors she dyed her hair brown for the sole purpose of distinguishing herself from Gigi. “Well, I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi,” she told Glamour in August 2016. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!” (The two sisters are best friends and close in age; Gigi is 24 years old.)

Maybe Bella will go back to blond while in self-isolation. If her recent updates are any indication, we may be in for several more beauty transformations before quarantine is over. Hooray for more things for me to live vicariously through!

Gigi Hadid Clapped Back at Jake Paul After He Confusingly Came for Zayn Malik


When it comes to swift and stern clapbacks, nobody does it better than Gigi Hadid.

On Sunday, the model took to Twitter to take on YouTube star Jake Paul, following his tweets claiming he almost had to “clap up” Zayn Malik after a night out. (So much clapping going on here!)

In the middle of the night, Paul tweeted, “almost had to clap up zane [sic] from 1 direction because he is a little guy and has an attitude and basically told me to fuck off for no reason when I was being nice to him…. zane ik you’re reading this… stop being angry cause u came home alone to ur big ass hotel room hahaha.”

Though we have many, many questions on how this all even came to pass, Metro UK reported that both Malik and Paul were in Las Vegas over the weekend to watch the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

In a second tweet about the incident, Paul doubled down: “bro he literally started yelling and freaking the fuck out. ‘You wanna test me mate.’ lol I feel bad for childhood stars.”

Just a few hours later, after catching wind of the tweet, Hadid jumped on social media to defend her man (and prove that her and Malik are absolutely on again). Hadid wrote:

“Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies ..? Home alone with his best friends like a respectful king cause he has me, sweetie. Unbothered by your irrelevant ugly ass. Go to bed …”

Fans of Hadid and Malik were quick to jump in to offer their support for Hadid’s tweets and to ask the model to finish her round in the Twitter ring with Paul.

Is this drama confusing? Very! But well, it’s 2020. As of Sunday morning, Hadid’s tweet has more than 25,000 retweets and more than 100,000 likes with no signs of stopping anytime soon, so, it’s probably safe to say Hadid got the real knock-out on this one.

Gigi Hadid, Patriot, Shows Up For Jury Duty For Harvey Weinstein Case


To quote one iconic tabloid column: Stars—they’re just like us.

On Monday morning, supermodel Gigi Hadid strutted toward the State Supreme Court in Manhattan to fulfill her civic responsibilities and report for jury duty. The 24-year-old was one of around 120 New Yorkers who answered the selection summons for Harvey Weinstein’s rape trial. If chosen, Hadid will help decide whether Weinstein serves a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

Weinstein is charged with raping a woman in 2013 and forcing oral sex on another woman in 2006. (He denies the charges; Weinstein is also facing a trial in Los Angeles, where he has been charged with forcible rape and forcible oral sex, as well as sexual penetration by use of force and sexual battery by restraint. The former movie-mogul claims these interactions were consensual.)

Molly Crane-Newman, a court reporter for the New York Daily News, reported that Hadid raised her hand when Judge James Burke asked if any of the potential jurors knew anyone on the defense or prosecution. She was seated just 20 feet from Weinstein.

“I have met the defendant,” Hadid said. “I have met Salma Hayek and possibly Ryan Beatty.”

But she added, “I think I’m still able to keep an open mind on the facts.”

Hayek, currently starring in Like A Boss, published an op-ed in the New York Times in 2017 in which she claimed Weinstein harassed her when she starred in his 2002 movie Frida. Ryan Beatty is a pop singer.

Crane-Newman tweeted that Weinstein’s lawyer, Donna Rotunno, responded to the possibility of Hadid sitting on the Weinstein jury, saying, “She can be fair like everyone else.”

Earlier this week, per Deadline, Weinstein’s team submitted a motion that would have barred the media from being present during the questioning of potential jurors. Judge Burke denied the motion—and good thing, or we might have missed out both on our rights to transparent criminal justice proceedings and visuals of Hadid’s iconic courtroom fashion. (Peep her immaculate white T, oversized men’s blazer, and gold-rimmed aviators here.) But in all seriousness, it’s nice to see a famous person be a responsible citizen.

Over 2,000 New Yorkers have reportedly been summoned for selection in the Weinstein case, and hundreds have already been dismissed over scheduling issues or concerns with bias. Better to be like Hadid—show up for your country, show up for justice, show up for appropriating menswear to quietly telegraph that the violence-prone Boy’s Club in Hollywood is over, and our time has just begun. Then put that in your leopard-print bucket hat and smoke it.

Selena Gomez Just Responded to Bella Hadid Deleting an Instagram She Commented On


After some time out of the public eye, Selena Gomez is definitely back in the spotlight with two new songs—that many think are about her ex, Justin Bieber—and a renewed social media presence.

Now, whether she intended to or not, the pop star finds herself in the middle of a possible internet drama with supermodel Bella Hadid. As with so many things online, there’s a lot of speculation going on here, but let’s see if we can break this down for anyone who doesn’t follow these two closely.

This drama seems to be rooted in the 2017 tabloid love triangle that happened between Hadid, The Weekend, and Gomez. For context, Hadid and The Weeknd have been dating on and off since 2015. But when they were apart in January 2017, he started seeing Gomez, at which time Hadid unfollowed Gomez on Instagram. Then, Gomez and The Weeknd unfollowed Hadid. Last year, Hadid and The Weeknd got back together before breaking up, yet again. At some point in between, Gomez re-followed Hadid on IG and, over the weekend, commented, “Stunning ?” on one of her posts.

Then, without explanation, Hadid deleted the entire post. While many online surmised this was because of Gomez’s comment, there’s no way to know Hadid’s true intention. Whatever the case, Gomez is bummed about the move. A fan account, @selssbrina, published a post about the situation and mentioned that Hadid had deleted the post Gomez commented on. The “Look at Her Now” singer saw said fan post and left a simple but telling reply: “That sucks ?.”

But don’t take this as a sign that Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid are feuding. Like we said, Hadid could’ve deleted her post for a number of reasons. And while Gomez’s reply to the fan account implies she’s hurt, we don’t know anything for sure. SelGo has made it clear in the past, though, that she has no time for petty fodder like this. When fans tried to pit her and Hailey Bieber against each other following the release of her song “Love You to Lose Me” (which is probably about Justin), she shut it down.

“I am so grateful for the response of the song,” she said on Instagram Stories. “However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down. So please be kind to everyone.Please be kind, I don’t like seeing people being disrespectful or rude to other people, so please don’t do that.”

Bella Hadid Says Victoria's Secret Never Made Her Feel ‘Powerful’


It’s not all that rare to see Bella Hadid, one of the highest paid models of her generation, in lingerie. But at the Vogue Fashion Festival in Paris on Friday, she admitted that she never felt comfortable until walking in Rihanna’s epic Savage x Fenty show this September. “That was the first time on a runway that I felt really sexy. Because when I first did Fenty, I was doing other lingerie shows and I never felt powerful on a runway, like, in my underwear,” she said per WWD.

Hadid, who has walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret three times, shared that she’s struggled with mental health issues for years. “For a while I just didn’t want to talk about it, and I’ve gone through a lot in the past few years with my health,” she said. “I feel guilty for being able to live this incredible life, have the opportunities that I do, but somehow still be depressed. It doesn’t make sense.”

Her point is powerful and important: Mental health issues like depression and anxiety don’t discriminate. Success doesn’t make you immune.

“I would cry every single morning, I would cry during my lunch breaks, I would cry before I slept. I was very emotionally unstable for a while when I was working 14-hour days for four months straight as an 18-year-old,” she said. “I think I just wanted to breathe a little bit. And so it kind of put me in a spiral.”

Last month, in honor of World Mental Health Day, Hadid alluded to struggling with her mental health to her followers on Instagram. “Being kind and protective to yourself and your energy is something I’ve learned to be helpful. When the world feels like it is collapsing around you, you are allowed to ask for help,” she wrote. “You do not have to deal w/ your mental state alone.”

At the panel on Friday, the 23-year-old model shared that she’s in a better place—and that she wants to help destigmatize mental health issues. “I feel like I would be doing a disservice to myself if I didn’t speak about something such as mental health, because that’s pretty much what I’ve been going through for the past five years very intensely,” she said. “Now we’re here and we’re good, but it took a while.”

Let’s break it down, shall we.

FACE:

Ta broke out his “favorite palette”—Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette—and applied the shade Sweet Tea with a fluffy blush and applied it to Hadid’s crease, blending out to make sure there were no hard edges. He then added the shade Sherbet across her entire eyelid using a flat brush. Fun fact: Ta even created his own line of brushes, including an eye shadow brush, specifically designed to “expertly blend shadows into the crease during application,” he told Glamour.

To tie the shades together, he also applied Sweet Tea to her lower lash line before moving on to the sharp wing which he created with Maybelline TattooStudio Sharpenable Gel Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Deep Onyx and would certainly meet with approval from Hadid’s friend, Taylor Swift.
