Baby Archie's Birth Certificate Is Here—and It Reveals a Lot


After what felt like years of anticipation, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first son, Archie, on Monday, May 6. Two days later, the couple gave a brief interview about their new lives as parents but didn’t reveal much information. Any more questions fans have, though, can probably be answered with Archie’s birth certificate, which the royal family made public on Friday, May 17.

It contains some illuminating details, like Archie birthplace: Portland Hospital, located in Westminster. (There was speculation Markle was planning on doing a home birth, but that didn’t pan out.)

Other interesting tidbits from the birth certificate? The official occupations of Meghan and Harry: prince and princess of the the United Kingdom. Also, we have confirmation that Archie’s first name is, in fact, just Archie. It’s not short for Archibald or something more formal.

The time of birth isn’t listed on this certificate, but Buckingham Palace wrote on Instagram that Archie came into the world early morning, May 6. We also already knew his birth weight: 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

“It’s been great. Parenting is amazing,” Prince Harry told reporters on May 8. “It has only been, what, two and a half, three days…. We are just so thrilled to have our own bundle of joy and to be able to spend some precious time as he slowly starts to grow up.”

Markle hasn’t given many quotes about motherhood yet, but she did say, “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy…He’s just been a dream. It’s been a special couple of days.”

Meanwhile, the well-wishes from family and friends keep pouring in. Baby Archie met Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Charles all this week for the first time. “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep-deprivation society that is parenting,” Prince William joked to journalists about two weeks ago.

‘This Is Us’ Season 3, Episode 18 Recap: Let's Talk About All the Major Reveals in the Season Finale


Caution: Spoilers for the This Is Us season three finale ahead.

The brains behind This Is Us promised a memorable season three finale, and they absolutely delivered. The episode was gut-wrenching and surprising—especially those last five minutes, which were jam-packed with new information. Seriously, my head is still spinning.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Before we introduce new drama, let’s talk about how the season’s biggest storylines wrapped. After a tense fight last week about how their new jobs are affecting their marriage, Randall and Beth reached a resolution: They’re moving to Philadelphia. Randall will stay on board as a city councilman, and Beth has decided to start her own dance studio in the area. Those who thought these two were headed for divorce can breathe a sigh of relief. “We don’t work when we’re apart,” Beth says to Randall toward the end of the episode. “But together we set the world on fire.”

Unfortunately, Kevin and Zoe’s future isn’t as bright. After spending the afternoon babysitting Beth and Randall’s daughters, Zoe realized Kevin truly does want children—even if he won’t admit it. So she ends things, and their last conversation is pretty heartbreaking. “You should be a dad,” she says. “Kevin, you should raise 500 perfectly symmetrical kids. You’ll be amazing at it. And I want you to have that. I want you to have everything you want. But I don’t want that.”

Meanwhile, it’s good news for Kate and Toby: They can take Baby Jack home. He’s breathing on his own, and the doctors seem optimistic about his health. But there might be some potential friction with Rebecca, who’s moving to Los Angeles with Miguel to help Kate with the baby. They had a minor tiff at the hospital—which was resolved—but I have a feeling Kate’s not going to respond well to Rebecca’s hands-on (grand)mothering.

This all led to those aforementioned last five minutes, which were some of the most illuminating in the show’s history. That’s when everything people will be talking about tomorrow happened. Questions were answered. Mysteries were solved. But in true This Is Us fashion, we were also left with several cliffhangers. Let’s go over the biggest moments right now:

If you’ll recall, Randall wasn’t wearing a wedding ring in the flash-forward from last year, which led many people to think he and Beth were dunzo. But rejoice, “R&B” shippers: The couple is still very much together, as evidenced by the kiss Beth gives Randall in this new flash-forward, and the giant wedding ring on her finger.

This implies, at least, that he and Zoe never get back together. (She’s quite firm in her desire to not have children.) So does this mean Kevin and Sophie found their way back to each other? They did have that coffee date a few episodes back. Granted, Sophie was engaged to someone else then, but I wouldn’t put it past This Is Us to reunite these two. Of course, it’s also possible Kevin just met someone new, but that’s boring so moving on.

He’s nowhere to be found in the future, when the entire family is gathered at Kevin’s house to visit a clearly-sick Rebecca. So either he passed away, he and Rebecca broke up, or he’s just running late to the house. My money’s on the third. It wouldn’t be the first time This Is Us gave viewers premature heart attacks.

The last time we saw Jack’s very-much-alive brother was in the middle of season three, when he iced out the Pearsons after they tried to help him get sober. But he appears in the flash-forward healthy, clean-cut, and sitting by Rebecca’s side. At some point between the present and future, he obviously mended the fence with his family. And picked up a shaving kit!

Lauren Conrad Reveals on Instagram That She’s Pregnant Again


We were all a little bummed when Lauren Conrad decided not to join the MTV reboot of The Hills, which premieres this year, but it seems she has enough going on in 2019: On Tuesday, April 2, the former reality show star revealed that she and her husband, William Tell, are expecting their second child.

Conrad shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her baby bump. “It’s been hard to keep this one to myself,” she wrote in the caption. “Very excited to share that our family will be getting a little bigger this year.”

Conrad and Tell, who got married back in September 2014, had their first child, Liam James, two years ago. If you remember, the couple announced that pregnancy in equally adorable fashion: Conrad posted a picture of her sonogram on the first day of the year, writing, “Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet….”

While she was pregnant and after she gave birth, Conrad has gotten candid about motherhood—she even provided some tips for how people should approach soon-to-be-moms. (Note: Ask before you touch her baby bump.) Just after she had Liam James, she told People that she’d been thinking about expanding her family with another baby.

“I was looking at him the other day, and I was like, ‘I understand now why people keep having babies!'” she told the publication. “We’ll probably have two. I think it’s best not to be outnumbered.”

In addition to doing some family planning, Conrad also recently shared that she’s launching a podcast that’ll tackle lifestyle tips and ideas. She’s also continuing to work on her business The Little Market, a fair-trade-focused store with a mission of women empowering other women. It’s going to be a jam-packed few months for her, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds—luckily, LC is diligent about documenting it all on her Instagram account.

Katy Perry Reveals the Extravagant Way Orlando Bloom Proposed


Earlier this month, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom took a more permanent step in their on-again, off-again relationship when they announced their engagement. But, gorgeous ring aside, we didn’t know many of the details…until now.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Perry revealed the extravagant way Bloom popped the question. And, as Kimmel correctly observed, there were definitely undertones of a date on an episode of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Here’s what happened: After a Valentine’s Day dinner, she was under the impression they were going to go see some art. Instead, the couple pulled up to a helicopter. “It was really sweet,” she says. “He asked me to marry him in a helicopter.”

However, all did not go exactly as planned inside said chopper. “We had champagne in the helicopter, and the box [with the ring] was in his pocket. He had written down everything he wanted to say in a note, you know, to divert, right? He was going to pull it out while I’m reading it,” Perry explains. “So I’m reading it, but I’m hearing that the champagne is, like, broken. The bottle’s everywhere, and I’m still looking at the note because he’s pulling out this box that’s too big for his coat pocket. And it rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne. And I’m like, ‘No, I’m just reading the note. I know you’re not doing anything.'”

Needless to say, it all worked out when Perry said yes. But Bloom wasn’t finished with the surprises. After what Perry described as a James Bond-style landing on top of a building in downtown Los Angeles, she was greeted by her family and friends, who were waiting to celebrate with the couple. “He did so well,” she said. “It was really sweet.”

Katy Perry also recounted how the two met—over a stolen In-N-Out burger at a Golden Globes party, as one does. “He stole one [burger] off of my table. I was sitting with Denzel Washington, and he took it. I was like, ‘Wait, who…oh, you’re so hot. Fine, take it.’ Then I saw him later at a party and was like, ‘How are those onions resting on your molars?’ He was like, ‘I like you.'”

From hamburgers to helicopters—it’s basically a modern fairy tale.

Game of Thrones Fans Think Jon Snow's Statue in the Season 8 Trailer Reveals a Huge Clue


HBO dropped the first teaser for Game of Thrones season eight on Sunday night (January 13), and, as expected, fans are already excavating it for clues and hidden meanings. Of course, some of them are a stretch, but a few actually have merit—like a theory currently trending on Reddit about Jon Snow’s statue from the trailer.

For context, go back and watch the teaser for yourself, below, and pay close attention to the statues it reveals of Arya, Sansa, and Jon. Notice how Arya and Sansa’s figures portray them as they are now—young—but Jon’s depicts him as an older man. Some fans are taking this to mean that Jon Snow is the only one who survives when everything is said and done. That’s a bold conclusion, sure, but Game of Thrones is a bold show.

“For me this trailer solidifies Jon as the main protagonist of the story,” one Redditor writes. “Whatever the ending is going to be, it’s going to be about Jon. He will be the hero, the ruler; he will defeat the Night King and save the realm. He’s not going to die, unless it’s as a final sacrifice.”

Others, however, think people may be reading too much into this. One fan points to a similar death theory that popped up in season six but never panned out. “Remember season six promos with all the faces of the lead actors in the hall of the Many Faced God? Everyone had theories on which one was gonna die, none of those characters died in that season,” they write. Good point!

There’s also another big Easter egg in this trailer: the frozen feather that falls when Jon passes the remains of his late mother, Lyanna. For context: The audience knows Lyanna is Jon’s mom, but he doesn’t. As this happens, we hear Lyanna’s voice faintly say, “You have to protect him.” “Him” is referring to Jon, who is the true heir to the Iron Throne. He just doesn’t know it yet. (Sansa put this exact feather on Lyanna’s statue back in season five.)

There’s so much going on in this trailer! Catch fans coming up with 500 more theories from it between now and when season eight premieres on April 14.

Christine Blasey Ford Reveals the Threats She's Faced Since Testifying Against Brett Kavanaugh


It’s hard to believe it’s only been two months since the contentious Senate confirmation hearings for now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. But for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who testified about her alleged sexual assault by Kavanaugh as a teenager, those two months have likely felt like a lifetime.

In early October, Blasey Ford said she and her family had already been forced to move four times due to ongoing threats. And last week (per The Cut), she updated supporters via a message on a GoFundMe page set up to help defray costs incurred because of her testimony and the ensuing security concerns.

“Words are not adequate to thank all of you who supported me since I came forward to tell the Senate that I had been sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh,” Blasey Ford wrote. “Your tremendous outpouring of support and kind letters have made it possible for us to cope with the immeasurable stress, particularly the disruption to our safety and privacy. Because of your support, I feel hopeful that our lives will return to normal.” She goes on to call the donations a “godsend” that have allowed her family to beef up security in light of “to protect ourselves against frightening threats.” Those security measures include physical protection, added features to their home, and housing while they were displaced.

The GoFundMe has raised almost $650,000—but now Blasey Ford is closing it to donations. “With immense gratitude, I am closing this account to further contributions,” she says. “All funds unused after completion of security expenditures will be donated to organizations that support trauma survivors. I am currently researching organizations where the funds can best be used. We will use this space to let you know when that process is complete.”

Even with all that has come with it, Blasey Ford is steadfast in her belief that she needed to do her civic duty in coming forward about Kavanaugh. (He has always vehemently denied the allegations.)

“Although coming forward was terrifying, and caused disruption to our lives, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to fulfill my civic duty,” she concludes. “Having done so, I am in awe of the many women and men who have written me to share similar life experiences, and now have bravely shared their experience with friends and family, many for the first time. I send you my heartfelt love and support.”
