Lindsay Lohan Wants to Do a Mean Girls Sequel and That's Honestly So Fetch

You’re not alone, Mean Girls fans (or should we say Plastics?) Lindsay Lohan has also been waiting patiently for Mean Girls 2.

Earlier this week, fresh off her hosting duties for Australia’s The Masked Singer, Lohan sat down for an interview on David Spade’s talk show, Lights Out with David Spade. It was there that she brought fans everywhere a little bit of joy by telling Spade she’s absolutely down to star in a Mean Girls sequel.

“I think I was hanging onto [Mean Girls] for a really long idea,” Lohan told Spade on April 14. “I wanted to come back with a Mean Girls 2 with the same cast, work with Tina [Fey], and the whole crew again, and [director] Mark Waters. That was really what I wanted; I was excited to do that. But that’s all in their hands, really.”

We’re sure we don’t have to explain this to you, but we’ll take any opportunity to rave about Mean Girls: Since its debut in 2004, Mean Girls has become an early-aughts classic. Not only did it gross $129 million at the box office, but it also spawned a hit Broadway musical. There’s practically an entire Ariana Grande music video devoted to the movie and October 3rd has become, like, an actual holiday at this point.

However, while Lohan’s enthusiasm is exciting for fans, it’s important to note that this isn’t the first time a sequel has come up only to be dismissed by the film’s creators. No response has been made yet, but back in 2018, Tina Fey, who wrote the movie, told Entertainment Tonight that a sequel with the same cast is unlikely as it would cost far too much now that the characters are all major stars. “Quotes are all too high now,” she joked.

There is one other glimmer of hope, though. Fey has announced her plans to adapt the Broadway musical version of Mean Girls to the big screen. It will not act as a sequel, but rather a music-filled retelling. Honestly, we’ll take what we can get.

Still, isn’t quarantine the perfect time for Fey and Lohan to come together over Zoom and start coming up with a plan for that sequel? Maybe they can even get Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried on the call. Just a suggestion.

Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan Might Be Doing a Reboot of ‘The Simple Life’

In 2003, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie blessed us with The Simple Life, a gloriously bonkers reality show in which the two socialites “roughed it” in blue-collar America. They traded in their designer clothes and penthouse apartments for bunkbeds and evening shifts at fast food restaurants. Was it problematic? Sure, but undeniably funny at times—and a formative piece of 2000s pop culture.

So it’s no surprise fans are begging for it to come back. (We are in the era of reboots, after all.) But Hilton has said time and time again that nothing is on the books. “They actually approached me to redo it again, but my schedule was so insane that I didn’t have time to do it, so I said no, but it would be pretty epic,” she told the Gay Times last fall.

Maybe her schedule is a bit more flexible now, though. There’s a theory floating around the internet that a Simple Life reboot is happening, and it will star Paris Hilton and—wait for it—Lindsay Lohan.

The only evidence comes from The Simple Life‘s “official” Twitter account (which isn’t verified). On Tuesday, June 25, whoever runs the page tweeted out a classic image of Hilton and Richie and wrote, “#SimpleLife6” alongside an eye emoji.

They then followed this up with two female emojis: one blond and one redhead. It didn’t take long for people to put two and two together. When one fan inquired if this meant the reboot would star Hilton and Lohan, the account responded with a “shhh” emoji. Interesting….

Then the account basically confirmed the suspicions by posting a photo of Lohan and Hilton from 2005 and captioning it, “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”

Enemies isn’t exactly the word I’d use to describe Hilton and Lohan—I’d venture to say they’re “frenemies.” The two were close at one point during the early aughts, but their relationship has since fizzled. Hilton’s made several shady comments about Lohan but confirmed they don’t get along this year on Watch What Happens Live. When host Andy Cohen asked Hilton to say three nice things about the Mean Girls star, she responded with “beyond, lame, and embarrassing.”

Lindsay Lohan Says Women Sharing Their #MeToo Experiences 'Look Weak'

Lindsay Lohan has been making media rounds this summer to promote her resort Lohan Beach House in Mykonos, but a new interview is getting attention not for her foray into the hospitality world, but for what she said about women in the #MeToo era.

Speaking to British newspaper The Times, Lohan chose to call out women who come forward with accusations of sexual misconduct and harassment, saying they are “attention-seekers” and “weak.”

“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” she says. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report. I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”

She didn’t stop there. Lohan says that she has never had any negative experiences of the Me Too variety during her film career, which began when she was just a kid. “So, I don’t really have anything to say. I can’t speak on something I didn’t live, right? Look, I am very supportive of women,” she told The Times. “Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways.”

Well, that’s a take, for sure. And she concludes the interview by referencing the very public fight she had with her ex-fiancé Egor Tarabasov. “I had a fight with my ex on this very beach. What did I do? Nothing,” Lohan replies. “I just took over the beach. The best revenge is success, right?” In 2016, Lohan accused Tarabasov of domestic violence while they were dating. It’s unclear if she was touting the incident as an example of how women should handle violence or misconduct, but eyebrows are raised.

This isn’t the first time the actress has found herself in hot water during the #MeToo era. In now-deleted posts on Instagram, Lohan initially defended Harvey Weinstein as allegations about the producer surfaced in the New York Times and the New Yorker last October.

“I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now,” she says in them. “I don’t think it’s right what’s going on. I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband. He’s never wronged me or done anything to me, and we’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop. It’s wrong, so stand up.”

She then attempted to clarify the comments, telling the Daily Mail. “I am saddened to hear about the allegations against my former colleague Harvey Weinstein,” she said. “As someone who has lived their life in the public eye, I feel that allegations should always be made to the authorities and not played out in the media.”

No word yet if she has clarifications on her latest remarks.

Rachel Lindsay Says She's a 'Little Pissed Off' About Becca Kufrin's *Bachelorette* Ending

Becca Kufrin’s season finale of The Bachelorette was dramatic, sure, but it was a cake walk compared to what Rachel Lindsay went through last year. If you forget, one of Lindsay’s suitors, Peter Kraus, was such a fan favorite that it seemed like her actual love story with the winner, Bryan Abasolo, was pushed to the wayside. She constantly had to defend her choice and punt allegations that she was “settling” by picking Abasolo. At one point during the season, Kraus told Lindsay to find someone to have a “mediocre life” with. When the finale aired, the blink-and-you-missed-it proposal at the end of Lindsay’s season was overlooked by viewers. It was like her love life and happiness played second fiddle to the drama—and this was her season of The Bachelorette.

So it’s understandable why Lindsay’s a little bit salty about the fairytale treatment Kufrin received for her season finale, which aired last night (August 6). The controversy surrounding her winner, Garrett Yrigoyen, aside, what ABC viewers saw last night was pure, blissful romance—the polar opposite of Lindsay’s tearful (and windy) finale.

“Do you ever recall seeing Bryan profess how excited he was to propose to me? Do you recall seeing me cry about how I was so excited to say yes to Bryan and get my fairytale ending? The answer would be ‘no’ to both of those questions,” Lindsay wrote in her Bachelorette recap for Us Weekly. “And it is a shame because both of those things actually happened. You just did not see them. See, you know more about the journey of my breakup than the journey to my proposal acceptance. I think it is fair to say that I was denied my on-camera happy ending.”

She continued, “Do I sound a little pissed off? Well that is because I am. Take a trip down memory lane to exactly, oh let’s say one year ago. Becca did not sit on stage for three hours and watch the finale for the first time in front of a live audience. Becca did not have to deal with someone telling her she would live a mediocre life. Becca did not have to deal with being baited with real time questions about her emotions watching certain scenes. Nope, that was me.”

Don’t get it twisted: Lindsay is happy for Kufrin—and she’s happy in real life, too. She’s just upset her Bachelorette finale was edited to appear more tumultuous than romantic. “I was placed on display for three hours and labeled an angry black female,” Lindsay continued. “And there will always be that stigma attached to my finale because it has been said that when truth is blurred by misinformation, perception becomes reality and all is lost.”

What Lindsay wanted was to have her love story documented, and that’s not an unreasonable request. So how can the network pay her back? A televised wedding wouldn’t hurt, though Lindsay isn’t sure she’s down for that. “I have no idea,” she said. “But they damn sure owe us one.”

The First Look of Lindsay Lohan's New Reality Show Is Here, and I Have Questions

Brace yourselves, Television Academy: Lindsay Lohan is coming. The Lawyer.com legend is expanding her empire with a new MTV reality show, Lohan Beach Club (working title), that’s set to air in 2019, according to Deadline.

The Vanderpump Rules–esque docuseries will take viewers behind the scenes of Lohan’s burgeoning business empire, which includes the launch of her very own hot spot in Mykonos, Greece, called Lohan Beach House. It will be the actress’s third property in Greece, following the Lohan Nightclub in Athens and the Lohan Beach House Rhodes in the city of Rhodes.

MTV dropped the first teaser of Lohan Beach Club on Monday (July 30); it’s only 17 seconds, but the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Pulitzer Prize committees are already shaking in their boots. “Pack your bags, MTV, we’re going to Mykonos,” Lohan says in a deadpan voice. She then rips off her sunglasses and looks to the right as if to say, “Life-Size 2 is jumping out, and so am I!”

PHOTO: MTV

“I’ve joined the MTV family, and I’m Lindsay Lohan,” she says, humbly, as if we somehow forgot about the time she canceled the entertainment industry with her breathtaking performance in Herbie: Fully Loaded.

Check out the teaser for yourself, below:

Transformed? So am I. I also have roughly 2,000 questions, including but not limited to:

  1. Will Dina Lohan make a cameo and explain, in detail, why we need a Mean Girls 3?

  2. Is Ali Lohan going to show up at the club launch and do a surprise performance of “All the Way Around”?

  3. Which celebrities from Lohan’s past will make an appearance? Aaron Carter? Hilary Duff? Her Just My Luck costar Chris Pine? Paris Hilton? (OK, probably not Paris Hilton.)

  1. Are we going to see the “Wear the same shoes” Instagram drama play out? (See below for details. Basically, two of Lohan’s employees at the Lohan Beach House Rhodes weren’t wearing the same shoes one day, and she…wasn’t happy.)

PHOTO: Instagram

  1. In which accent will Lohan speak?

  2. Will she mention her desire to star in a Little Mermaid reboot at all? Lohan Beach House would make for an excellent set.

  3. Will Lohan use these clubs as an opportunity to restart her own short-lived music career? “Rumors” is still a bop!

  4. Is Rupert Grint going to pop up to promote that show he made with Lilo called Sick Note?

[embedded content]
  1. But actually, will Lisa Vanderpump and her crew appear for a little cross-over action? Think of the coins, Andy Cohen!

  2. Annnnd…can I get an invite?

What’s that I hear? Oh, just the Nielsen ratings system malfunctioning after Lohan Beach Club racks up all the views. We aren’t ready.

'Dancing With the Stars' Finale Night Two Recap: Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold Take Home the Mirrorball Trophy

If it wasn’t obvious from night one of Dancing With the Stars, then it is now: Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold are your new DWTS champions. The Hamilton star succeeds reigning season 24 champ Rashad Jennings as the latest celebrity to get a new door stop Mirrorball. Len Goodman said Jordan is “the most complete male celebrity ever on Dancing With the Stars,” while Bruno Tonioli praised him as being “right up there with the best we’ve ever seen on this show.” The win also marks Lindsay’s first Mirrorball trophy in six seasons. She previously came in fourth with Wanya Morris, third with Calvin Johnson, Jr., and second with David Ross.

Following their victory, Jordan and Lindsay didn’t get to say anything, because, well, the show ran out of time. It was perhaps the biggest misstep of the entire season, especially for fans who propelled Jordan to victory and would have loved to have heard his reaction instead of just seeing it. Apparently, that’s what Good Morning America is for. Still, not cool you guys.

As expected, Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas came in second place, with Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson taking third. All three couples will now head to New York to appear on GMA and act as if they’re thrilled to to have to dance again on an hour of sleep.

In other news, both Jordan and Frankie were announced as the celebrity guests joining Dancing With the Stars Live!: Light Up the Night this winter. It’s the first time since the tour began that two contestants will go on the road.

In case you only turned in for the last five minutes, or want to relive the last dances, here’s what happened during the final episode…

Favorites Dance:

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas: Dancing to Wham! has never looked so good. Mark and Lindsey scored a perfect 30 to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” but perhaps most impressive was the rehearsal package that aired right before that detailed Lindsey’s journey. Not only did she detail her struggle with anorexia, but she opened up about how the criticism from the judges on America’s Got Talent propelled her to a career she never could have dreamed of. If there’s a Mirrorball for that, this girl deserves it. Score: 30/30

Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson: Len Goodman called Frankie and Witney’s Argentine Tango fantastic, and Carrie Ann said it was a “bigger and better performance” than when they performed it the first time. I’m glad he’s on the DWTS tour this winter. America needs this. Score: 30/30

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold: In Jordan’s rehearsal package, he and his parents talked about how Jordan came in second place so many times in his career before he got his first big break with the Secret Life of the American Teenager. That’s code for: Don’t let second place happen on DWTS, voters. Even Lin-Manuel Miranda makes a cameo telling him to “go get ’em!” Jordan, of course, did just that, performing a flawless Samba that Carrie Ann Inaba called “much, much, much improved.” (Side note to Carrie Ann: This is Jordan we are talking about. One “much improved” is one too many. The guy has always been stellar.) Score: 30/30

Fusion Dances:

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas: I’ve never been a huge fan of the 24-hour fusion dances, but apparently they’re popular enough to keep doing for added “suspense” each finale. Lindsey and Mark killed it, and Len Goodman told Lindsey she’s a fantastic dancer. No kidding. Score: 30/30

Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson: Frankie started off by saying, “If I don’t win, this is still the most amazing experience of my life.” Seriously, someone cast him on This Is Us next…the guy knows how to bring the waterworks. He also knows how to bring the dance moves, courtesy of the Foxtrot/Tango fusion, which Bruno goes crazy for until he says Frankie lost a little bit of a control. Carrie Ann told Frankie he’s what this show is about, and she’s right. Perhaps he deserves the Mirrorball more than anyone (even Len said he’s the people’s champion). Score: 28/30

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold: Surprise, surprise, only Jordan could make a Salsa and Paso Doble fusion look like a walk in the park. Carrie Ann summed it up: “There’s not much else to say. Your skills are out of this world.” Yep. The End. Score: 30/30
