People Are Swooning Over These Pics 'Riverdale' Actor Cole Sprouse Apparently Took of Lili Reinhart

We’ve evolved from humans who want partners with enough aim to bring down a sabertooth tiger to those who simply want Instagram husbands—real or honorary, and not necessarily men—to snap a picture that makes us look incredible. It’s really not too much to ask: point and click. And filter. And edit. (Like, a little easier on the contrast, maybe?) One so-called “Instagram boyfriend” (quotes because it’s not confirmed!) who seems to have it down is Riverdale‘s own Cole Sprouse, who is apparently taking beautiful photographs of co-star Lili Reinhart. People think that a slew of photos the two have posted are Sprouse originals, and there’s plenty of evidence that points to it.

The photos shared from Reinhart’s account have Sprouse tagged in them, which is why people think he took them—though that hasn’t been explicitly verified. Still, we’ll just admire them as the works of portrait art that they are, whether they’re in arty black and white or (faux?) candid shots of Reinhart checking her appearance in the mirror.

Check out this gorgeous photo, which looks like it was captured as Reinhart was getting ready to head out for the night:

And then there’s this ~ moody ~ rooftop sequence involving a fire escape and a beautiful black dress that we would definitely add to cart:

Sprouse also shared one of his own pics of her, in which she looks like an actual Renaissance angel:

Should these indeed be his, Sprouse is clearly talented at photography—and it seems rather likely these are his: last week, he posted a cover of L’Uomo Vogue that has his work on the cover—and in a beautiful spread featuring Sam Smith (that’s right; this 25-year-old prodigy is landing Vogue covers). Also, his Instagram feed is basically an online art gallery of his other photos.

Not too shabby, Sprouse—we can’t wait to see what other work you create. Between his beind-the-camera talents and Reinhart’s Halloween makeup skills, we are low-key excited for any seasonal photoshoots that may or may not take place in the coming weeks.

'Riverdale' Star Camila Mendes Opens Up About Struggling With an Eating Disorder

PHOTO: Robby Klein/Getty Images

Riverdale star Camila Mendes plays the mysterious, confident Veronica Lodge onscreen, but she isn’t afraid to let her guard down in real life—even when it comes to talking about the tough, personal stuff. On Friday, Mendes revealed that she has struggled with symptoms of an eating disorder in the past, and that her sister suffered with an eating disorder for years as they grew up. In a powerful Instagram post, she explained that she’s partnering with Project HEAL to help raise money for others seeking to help with their own eating disorders.

Project HEAL was founded in 2008 by Liana Rosenman and Kristina Saffran, who met each other during treatment for anorexia. They came together to start the nonprofit to help others who were suffering but couldn’t afford treatment—sadly, many insurance plans don’t provide adequate coverage for eating disorders. (Rosenman and Saffran, by the way, were 2011 honorees in Glamour’s young women of the year list).

“I can say from experience that eating disorders are serious mental illnesses,” Mendes wrote in her post. “Growing up, I watched my big sister suffer from one for many years, and I’ve experienced periods in my life when I’ve suffered symptoms as well. I’m joining Project HEAL to help break the stigma associated with eating disorders.”

Mendes will attend the [Project HEAL San Francisco Gala] on Saturday night to auction off a day on the Riverdale set. The money will go to those in need of treatment.

There’s been a recent cultural shift when it comes to talking about eating disorders, especially in pop culture, with high-profile projects and celebrities helping to shape an honest and empowering cultural concersation. This year’s To the Bone starred Lily Collins as a young woman struggling with anorexia. The film also led Collins to open up about her real life struggles with the illness.

Demi Lovato also got candid about disordered eating in her documentary, Simply Complicated. And Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario wrote, directed, and starred in her film Feed, which tells her own story about her experience with anorexia.

These hard-hitting, personal depictions of what it’s actually like to deal with an eating disorder are helping to shine light on a formerly taboo subject—and it’s wonderful that these celebrity women are using their platforms to lead the way in continuing to break down the stigma surrounding them.

'Riverdale' Season 2 Episode 2 Recap: More Bloodshed, and More Cheryl

Tonight’s Riverdale was dark, bloody, and, honestly, pretty terrifying. Two more people were shot. Betty blackmailed Cheryl. This wholesome town is falling apart. I won’t waste your time with more build-up, so let’s just get to the good stuff. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Some miserable troll has vandalized Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe. The owner, Pop, is devastated by this, and I seriously can’t handle this normally-jolly man looking so sad.

Remember, Archie’s now on a mission to protect his father, Fred, from the shooter who’s still at large. His method for doing this last week was sitting in the hallway wielding a bat; this week, it’s guzzling soda and bringing Fred toast in bed. Archie seriously needs to simmer down; he keeps calling Sheriff Keller to learn more about the shooter, but Keller (smartly) isn’t returning his calls. Archie’s an unstable child, people. He should just drop this case and go back to being shirtless and singing or whatever he did last season.

Veronica’s very hot (but probably still evil) father, Hiram, pesters her about having dinner with him and her mother. Privy to her father’s criminal ways, she says “never.” Again, smart move. He’s sketch.

PHOTO: CW

The Core Four is very sad that Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe is in shambles, so Betty and Veronica start planning an event to save it. Meanwhile, Jughead meets his father’s (F.P.) lawyer at the sheriff’s station. I literally forgot F.P. was in jail because I care so little about the Jones family. F.P.’s facing 20 years in jail, so Jughead’s naturally shook about that. He starts crying. Even his beanie quivers. Archie’s too distracted with Fred’s shooter to be a good friend about this.

Jughead asks a South Side Serpent to help him bust F.P. out of jail; the Serpent laughs at this, calls Jughead a child (he is), and says a “Snake Charmer”—whatever that is—is who Jughead needs to contact. The “Snake Charmer” is, apparently, a Serpent lawyer named Penny Peabody. She tells Jughead having the Blossom family forgive F.P. in front of a judge would help his case. But taking advice from Penny was a mistake: F.P. frantically calls Jughead and tells him not to talk to her anymore and that he doesn’t want to “be in bed” with a “Snake Charmer.”

Archie confronts Sherriff Keller about why the police is sleeping on Fred’s shooter. He volunteers to go patrolling with the police to find the perp, which sounds like something a 9-year-old boy would say. Archie’s essentially a toddler who wants to play Cops and Robbers, and Sherrif Keller’s like, “Yo, just chill and drink your Capri Sun.”

Lurking Betty notices Archie hasn’t been sleeping in his room, so she asks Veronica to confront him about it. He tells Veronica’s he’s been staying up all night downstairs with a baseball bat to stop Fred’s shooter if/when he shows up. Veronica’s response to this is pretty much, “I’m rich and gorgeous and don’t know how to handle this; go see the school counselor.” Honestly, that’s how I’d react too.

Jughead and Betty go to Mayor McCoy and ask her to turn Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe into a town landmark; she refuses, and then Jughead asks her if she’s cool sending F.P. to jail for a murder he didn’t commit. She’s pretty whatever about it, which means she’s my new favorite character. Jughead threatens Mayor McCoy and tells her to remember this as the day she turned her back on Pop and F.P. This is supposed to be dramatic, but I think Jughead is ridiculous, so I’m unfazed.

Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks

PHOTO: The CW

A new character, Midge Klump, asks Reggie Mantle about something called “Jingle Jangle.” Spoiler: It’s a drug, because Reggie says he can “score some” for Midge and her boyfriend, Moose. Archie also asks Reggie for “Jingle Jangle” to help him stay awake and keep guard of his house. Reggie agrees, and also adds that “Jingle Jangle” will give Archie a lengthy erection, which, gross.

Betty goes on some rant to Veronica and Kevin about how Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe is sentimental to her, which is why she wants to save it. Blah blah blah. Their powwow is interrupted by Veronica’s dad, who shows up with flowers to talk to her. Veronica says she can’t go back to the way things with were with him because she now knows what a crook he is. I mean, true, but he’s also a damn snack.

Cheryl. Is. Here. The first thing she does is call Veronica and Betty “Humpty” and “Dumpty.” Thank God. Josie is the Riverdale Vixens’ newest recruit, but she has one request: to be in front. Betty asks Cheryl if the Vixens would perform at their “Save Pop’s” event, to which she replies, “I did not emerge from the frozen depths of Sweetwater River nor the flames of Thornhill to allow my Vixens to sling milkshakes at some death-cursed diner.” She’s a national treasure.

Archie finds out about Ms. Grundy getting murdered, and he flips. He obviously thinks this hit and his father’s shooting are connected, and he asks Alice Cooper to investigate. Because Grundy was strangled with a cello bow and Fred was shot, Alice says the likelihood of the crimes being committed by the same person is slim. Obviously, Archie doesn’t believe this. He thinks Grundy’s unstable ex committed both crimes, but Sheriff Keller shuts down his hysterics. Again, just drink your juice, Archie.

In a heated confrontation at the Lodge house, Hiram claims he isn’t responsible for Fred’s shooting. Veronica then asks Hiram about the letter she received that said Hermione would get hurt if she didn’t testify on his behalf. As it turns out, Hermione herself wrote that letter to coerce Veronica into testifying. This family is shady, shady, shady (but also sexy, so it’s fine).

Jughead and Betty go to Cheryl’s new house to beg Cheryl and her creepy mom to accept F.P.’s in-court apology. Cheryl calls Betty and Jughead “Hobo” and “Bride of Hobo” and refuses their request.

But wait! Dark Betty makes a brief, psycho appearance to blackmail Cheryl into testifying on F.P.’s behalf; she says she’ll wide-release the video of Clifford Blossom shooting Jason if Cheryl doesn’t. Cheryl complies—and even tells the court Clifford threatened F.P. to force him into covering up Jason’s murder. Damn. After Cheryl does this, Betty honors her word and gives Jason’s death tape back.

Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks

PHOTO: The CW

A chat with Jughead suddenly gives Veronica a change of heart about her hot-but-evil parents: She wants to start over with them, but this is a bad idea. Hiram and Hermione told Veronica they made a “charitable donation” to save Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe; however, they actually bought it from under Pop’s nose.

Wait! Hermione lied! Hiram really did write that letter threatening Hermione’s life if Veronica didn’t testify for him. And they definitely have a suspicious agenda for buying the Chock’lit Shoppe! These two are slimy snakes, and Veronica has no idea! S.O.S!

At the “Save Pop’s” event, Archie can’t stop staring at this dude in the parking lot wearing glasses. His name is Dilton Doiley, and Archie apparently asked him to get him a gun. They meet on a deserted bridge to complete the transaction. Archie’s officially off the rails.

But not as off the rails as this masked shooter. At the end of the episode, he shoots two more people: Midge and Moose, who were high off the “Jingle Jangle” Reggie gave them. More carnage! Why is this friggin’ show so violent now?!? I need an adult.

A 'Riverdale' Cast Member Just Said He 'Really Likes Cole and Lili Together'

Riverdale returning last week reminded the world of two things: 1) Betty and Jughead are the cutest, and 2) They’d be even cuter if their IRL counterparts, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, were also dating off-screen. That latter question has been floating around the Riverdale universe for nearly a year. People are convinced Reinhart and Sprouse are an item, even though neither has confirmed it.

The proof is out there, though. For one, there’s the time they were caught holding hands at San Diego Comic-Con—and then they did it again on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Toss in a few sweet social media posts and this maybe-snuggle on The Tonight Show, and you have a celebrity relationship mystery for the ages.

And the plot just thickened thanks to Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead’s dad (F.P. Jones) on Riverdale. In a new interview with Access Hollywood, the actor accidentally let it slip that he “likes” Reinhart and Sprouse “together.”

When asked who his favorite Riverdale on-screen ships are, Ulrich said, “I really like Cole and Lili together—Betty and Jughead—I think there’s a lot of positive qualities about them together for sure.” Watch his interview for yourself, below:

[embedded content]

Granted, Ulrich is most likely talking about Rienhart and Sprouse in the context of the show; that is, after all, what he was asked. But the fact he felt the need to clarify his statement by saying “Betty and Jughead” is suspicious. It’s almost as if he feared people would think he was talking about Reinhart and Sprouse off-screen if he didn’t say the characters’ names. And if that thought did cross his mind, isn’t this a sign something might be going on between C and L?

This Reinhart-Sprouse Instagram fan page certainly thinks so. The account’s runner posted Ulrich’s interview on Tuesday and captioned it, “Skeet nearly exposed himself for shipping both Sprousehart and Bughead.”

Of course, Reinhart and Sprouse never have to confirm their relationship—or lack thereof—to anyone; their personal life is completely their business. Riverdale fans have just as much fun (playfully) obsessing over interviews like this as they do fan theories.

'Riverdale' Season 2 Episode 1 Recap: Fred Andrews' Fate Is Finally Revealed

Today’s the day! The sun is shining! And Riverdale is finally, finally back! Tonight’s episode was a doozy, to say the least. We learned more about Fred Andrews’ shooting, plus Bughead and Varchie turned up the heat. So let’s just dive into the details, because I know that’s what you care about. Warning: Spoilers ahead.

We open the episode with a pretentious voiceover from Jughead. I forgot how much I disliked his beanie until this exact moment. Anyway, Archie—who is better than Jughead, don’t @ me—doesn’t have a license but is driving his father, Fred, to the hospital because, remember, Fred was shot. Whether or not he lives or dies is still a mystery, but a psycho dream about Fred missing Archie’s graduation makes me think it’s bad news.

Pan to Betty, who’s awkwardly telling her mother (Alice) about her almost-sex with Jughead, whom Alice loathes. Alice makes some shady remarks about the Southside Serpents, which I love because I’m not Team Jughead. Meanwhile, Veronica is drinking the champagne her mother got for her father because she’s a queen. Their fun is interrupted, though, when Archie calls them—and Jughead—about Fred’s shooting. There’s a shot of Jughead dramatically hopping onto a motorcycle and rushing to the hospital, which is just ludicrous. Who is he? The Dark Knight?

At the hospital, Archie tells his friends about the shooting; he feels guilty, but Jughead makes him feel better by calling him “Pure Heart the Hero,” which is cringe-worthy. My new favorite character, Alice, gives Jughead the stink eye at the hospital and insinuates the South Side Serpents had something to do with Fred’s shooting. Archie calls his mom—Molly Effing Ringwald—to tell her the news.

The salt-and-pepper snack sheriff (Kevin’s dad) pulls Archie aside to get more information about the shooter. Jughead tags along because he’s nosy and lives for the drama. When the sheriff insinuates a South Side Serpent did the deed, Jughead flips out. The sheriff asks Archie what the assailant did after shooting his father; Archie hesitates, like he knows something, but doesn’t say anything. Jughead catches onto this fuckery and suggests the shooter’s motive wasn’t just robbery. Jughead asks Archie why he hesitated to tell the sheriff the full story, and he says it’s because he thinks one of the South Side Serpents who worked for Fred could’ve done something. Jughead agrees to check this out, because of course he does.

In another weird almost-death dream, Fred has visions of his dead relatives literally knocking on his trailer to take him to the afterlife. These are eerie, and I want them to stop.

Veronica’s shook because she doesn’t know how to deal with Archie being sad. She can only handle him when he’s, like, hot and shirtless. They leave the hospital together to get Archie some non-blood-splattered clothes, and Veronica’s uneasy about how to handle the situation.

The first thing Archie wants to do when he gets home is walk his dog. He doesn’t want to change his bloody clothes. He just wants to walk his damn dog. Veronica’s creeped out, but goes along with this anyway.

Meanwhile, Jughead confronts the South Side Serpents about what Archie told him at the hospital. They agree to look into it, but who the hell cares about this because minutes later Veronica gets naked and hops in the shower with Archie. (!!!) Keep in mind that Archie is washing his father’s blood off his skin. And Veronica’s turned on! This isn’t hot! This is deranged! WTF kind of vampire shit are Archie and Veronica into?!

Betty tells Kevin that Jughead told her he loves her—and that she said it back. Kevin, the genius he is, tells Betty she needs to stay far away from Jughead because he’s a South Side Serpent. I mean, I get that’s the logical reason to stay away, but I think Betty should ditch Jughead just because he’s insufferable and wears beanies.

Then, Chery Blossom shows up in the hospital looking bomb AF and spews some lies about how a candle started the fire at Thornhill. (Remember, she torched her house in a rage last season!) Her mother is burned really badly and is rushed into a hospital room; Cheryl hovers in the hallway and smiles, looking iconic, as per usual.

Meanwhile, post-sex, Archie flips out on Veronica for losing Fred’s wallet—which she didn’t even do. Archie’s just being a jerk. Archie tells her to leave, but because Veronica’s a saint she refuses and instead comforts him as he cries into her arms. It’s tender. OK, Archie’s back in my good graces.

The salt-and-pepper snack sheriff makes Archie pick from a line-up of masked robbers, which seems like a pointless exercise. These men…are wearing masks, and Archie saw the shooter for a split second. How could he possibly identify someone? This is dumb, but they’re doing lots of close-up shots of Archie’s beautiful eyes, so I’m fine.

Jughead goes on a convoluted rant about how it’s “entirely conceivable” Fred’s shooting was intentional. Veronica asks Jughead and Betty to go to Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe to look for Fred’s wallet. They go. I’m bored.

Veronica insinuates that her mother could’ve shot Fred because she has a motive: She knew Hiram Lodge and Fred wouldn’t get along, and because Fred wouldn’t sell his half of his construction company to them, it’d be easier if he was gone.

But good news: Fred Andrews is stable! Archie goes to his hospital room and starts saying positive things in the hopes he’ll wake up. Fred has another scary death dream. Wow, they’re dragging this out.

Pop, who owns Pop’s Chock’lit Shop, tells Betty and Jughead that he doesn’t think the assailant was a robber. Betty confronts Jughead about joining the South Side Serpents; he says he isn’t going to join and says that he’s moving into F.P.’s trailer—not with his foster parents. He wants to wear F.P.’s jacket and ride his motorcycle and live in his trailer to be close to him. Betty’s worried. I’m worried. The bottle of water I just finished is worried. Betty doesn’t want him to get hurt, which is understandable. Side note: Why am I so bored by their relationship?

Cheryl goes full-on Baby Jane and threatens to kill her mother if she tells anyone the truth about the fire. It’s a really creepy scene, but I love Cheryl and would jump off a cliff for her. Yas, queen. Read your awful mom for filth! You look so good!

Archie tells his friends that he was paralyzed with fear when the assailant shot Fred. He just got on his knees in the moment and closed his eyes until he heard the shooter leave Pop’s—so it’s totally possible this guy nabbed Fred’s wallet. Archie’s ashamed, but he honestly needs to go easy on himself.

Then Archie walks in on Cheryl creepily kissing Fred on the forehead. She says she’s giving him the kiss of life, which would sound weird coming from anyone but Cheryl. Again, Cheryl can do no wrong.

Oof! Another psycho-death dream. This time it’s Veronica in that wedding dress, which explains all those photos that leaked a few months ago. Minutes later, Fred wakes up…unsurprisingly.

Betty comes around and tells Jughead she’s cool with him “exploring” the South Side Serpents if it’ll make him feel closer to his dad. This is a horrible idea. My evidence? The bloodied-and-beaten dude the Serpents interrogated in F.P.’s trailer about Fred’s shooting! These guys are bad guys! Take your beanie and run, Jughead!

Veronica comes home, and guess who’s waiting for her?! Her father, Hiram Lodge, who eerily says it’s “disrespectful” that she wasn’t there to greet him. Her dad is hot. This family is hot. Veronica shadily tells her parents that Fred Andrews woke up and saunters off.

Holy shit! Ms. Grundy is back! And she’s making out with another student! Also, WTF again! But Fred’s shooter is now killing Ms. Grundy! Who is this guy?! This is literally how the episode ends, and I just can’t.

Parting thoughts: This show is so goddamn magnificent. I’ve missed you, Riverdale.

These New 'Riverdale' Season Two Photos Will Probably Make You Cry

There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the second season of Riverdale, which begins October 11. Does Fred Andrews live? Will Jughead’s move to the South Side end his relationship with Betty? Is Veronica’s father, Hiram, just going to wreak havoc all over town? Unfortunately, we don’t have the answers to these questions, but new photos from the first episode of season two are dropping some hints. If the 15 pictures in this gallery are any indication, the answers to those aforementioned questions are as follows: 1) Yes, Fred lives, 2) “Bughead” is on the rocks, and 3) Hiram Lodge is up to no good. I’m shook, and you will be too after peeping these pics. Get ready.
