The ‘Hamilton’ Cast Reunited on John Krasinski’s Show Just to Surprise a 9-Year-Old Fan

The Hamilton original cast, Mary Poppins, Jim from The Office, and a very surprised nine-year-old girl joined together on Sunday night, April 5, for what must be the liveliest Zoom meeting since your boss’s husband walked in with no pants on.

The scene: The second episode of John Krasinski’s homemade quarantine talk show, Some Good News.

The reason: Aubrey, a nine-year-old in Jacksonville, was supposed to see Hamilton when the Broadway tour came to her hometown this week, but the show was canceled for social distancing reasons. “We’re home watching Mary Poppins Returns instead,” Aubrey’s mom tweeted, after the family missed the show. “At least we’re safe & healthy.”

The strangely heartwarming outcome: Watching a preteen light up as a stranger chants, over video call, “How does a bastard orphan son of a whore….”

Since Aubrey could not go to Hamilton, Hamilton came to Aubrey.

Welcoming the nine-year-old, who described herself as “a million” on the 1–10 scale of Hamilton fandom, Krasinski first promised to fly her and her mom to New York to see Hamilton after social distancing rules lift. He then introduced her to Mary Poppins herself, aka his wife, Emily Blunt, who played the “practically perfect” nanny in Mary Poppins Returns. The call was then interrupted by Hamilton writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who costarred with Blunt in Mary Poppins (or as Krasinski said of him, “He was kind of like a backup dancer”).

Aubrey, who had grinned while speaking to Krasinski and smiled while meeting Blunt, gasped and mildly hyperventilated when Miranda joined the call. She became totally speechless when he was joined by Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr.…and then Anthony Ramos…and then Daveed Diggs and Phillipa Soo…and eventually, the full Hamilton original cast, who joined together to sing the title song from the musical.

It’s hard to overstate what truly good news this all is—that the Hamilton cast is staying safe and well and extremely on beat, that Daveed Diggs has such elaborate wallpaper, that Lin-Manuel Miranda is as electrifying over front-facing cam as he is live, that entertainers are going out of their way to make joyful art during dark times.

“Thank you for having me!” Aubrey, the world’s most polite nine-year-old, shouts at the end of the video. It’s nice to take a break from living through a major historical event to watch one that unfolded so long ago, it’s been made into a rap-filled Broadway musical. History has its eyes on all of us. So stay home, and call someone who needs some good news.

Love Is Blind Reunion: Everything the Cast Revealed

Carlton says the fight he had with Diamond led to him receiving death threats online. However, he’s more concerned for Diamond because she faced accusations of being homophobic and bi-phobic. “The woman I fell in love with, I’ve never felt like she was bi-phobic, homophobic,” he says. “I was just afraid we’d have some issues we’d have to work through.”

Diamond says she’s also received death threats, and that her intention with the conversation with Carlton in Mexico was to learn more about his sexuality, not attack him. “I should’ve approached it a lot differently in being more comforting,” she says. “Approach it in a way of saying, ‘I respect you as a person.'”

When asked if he wishes he would’ve told Diamond about his sexuality sooner, Carlton said, “I would’ve done whatever it took had I known then that’s what it took to sit here, happily married.”

In an emotional scene during the reunion, Carlton got down on one knee and apologized to Diamond. He returned her engagement ring and said, “I hope that you take this ring as a significant piece of our friendship and the start of something beautiful, without any type of plan.”

Giannina and Damian:

A reminder of what happened in their relationship: These two were also smitten with each other, but Giannina’s fear of marriage led to some hot-and-cold behavior about their future. By the end, though, she was ready to say, “I do.” But Giannina’s indecisiveness was a red flag for Damian, and he bowed out at the altar, causing her to (literally) run out of their wedding. In her dress.

And on the reunion:

Giannina and Damian are “so together,” says Giannina. “I don’t want to lose this. I just don’t. And I didn’t!”

Netflix

Giannina says she didn’t plan on proposing to Damian in the pods; it’s something that came to her after thinking abut their conversations about being equals.

On their wedding day drama, Giannina says she respects Damian’s decision to not go through with it: “Where we are now is just so right for us, where we can just date…We’re getting to know each other at our own pace.”

Damian has no regrets about saying, “I don’t” on their wedding day because it’s led to their strong relationship now. “It was definitely a strong love from the beginning and we pushed through a lot,” he says. “…But she was in and out of it so much.”

Lauren and Cameron:

A reminder of what happened in their relationship: These two were rock solid from the start and stayed that way through the end. The only obstacles they really faced were Lauren’s protective father and their
worries about being an interracial couple.

And on the reunion:

They are very much together. “I seriously never have been as happy as I am with Cameron,” Lauren says. “…Life is good.”

The two have a puppy together and say they’ve had a great time showing the other person new experiences throughout the year. “I think people often think changing who you are is a negative thing,” Cameron says. “Lauren is an amazing woman, obviously, and just being with her, I feel, has changed me in many ways. Watching the show back, it’s still me, but I’ve evolved over time.”

On the topic of kids, Lauren says, “One day.”

As for Cameron’s tense conversation with Lauren’s dad on the show, she says, “We’re family…Lauren has a strong connection with her father, so it makes sense that I would love him too.” The families even spent Thanksgiving together in 2019.

And that’s a wrap on Love Is Blind season one. Don’t make us wait long for season two, Netflix.

Who Are the 2020 Bachelorette Contestants? Top Theories About Clare Crawley's Cast

As you very well know by now, Clare Crawley is the new Bachelorette. What you don’t know is what that means for this year’s Bachelorette contestants.

One thing is certain: If Pete Weber’s Bachelor gimmick was his pilot’s license, Crawley’s theme is undoubtedly going to be her age. At 38, she is the oldest Bachelorette in franchise history, directly following Hannah Brown, the youngest at 24 years old. Like Brown, Crawley has been through the Bachelor Nation ringer before: first on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor, then on two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, followed by a stint on Bachelor: Winter Games.

So, what does this all mean for Crawley’s options? If The Bachelor producers are smart—which you have to admit they are, despite some odd rules and…choices they’ve made lately—they’re going to adjust the group of singles to meet Crawley’s needs and past experiences.

Of Brown’s 30 contestants, 24 were older than her, five were exactly her age, and only one of them was younger at 23 years old. Overall, the average age was 27.

Weber’s crew is quite young. Of his 30 contestants, only one was older than him (at 31), and the youngest women were both 22. The average age came out to about 25. Interesting. With seven 23-year-olds on his roster, it’s no wonder there were so many complaints that the contestants were too young.

That’s likely not how it’s going to go down for Crawley. Here’s everything we know (which at, this point, is mostly speculative) about the 2020 Bachelorette contestants.

Crawley will get to meet some of them soon. Spoiler-in-Chief Reality Steve says that she will be introduced to five of her possible contestants during the second part of Weber’s finale. Perfect timing, if he’s right and filming begins on March 13.

The dudes are definitely going to be older…mostly. Reality Steve also says he has the first scoop on about half of the guys. According to his tweet, their ages are 28, 28, 25, 23, 28, 30, 40, 28, 31, 33, 26, 26, 28, and 28. Still, make sure to take that with a grain of salt. Reality Steve also says some could drop out/get cut before the official bell is rung.

This could be the season of the Daddy According to Reality Steve, there are already at least 4 fathers amongst the cast. Again, take with a grain of salt.

This Pic of the Friends Cast the Night Before They Filmed the Finale Will Make You Emotional

Friends may be gone from Netflix, but it still holds a Central Perk-sized place in our hearts forevermore.

The show will be streaming again soon enough when HBO Max launches later this year, but until then we have some of the cast out here on Instagram sharing behind-the-scenes memories and reunion dinners.

The latest throwback comes from Courteney Cox, who posted a photo to commemorate the 16th anniversary of final episode taping. (It happened on January 23, 2004.) She also shared a shot of the final script’s cover. “‘The Last Supper’ before taping ‘The Last One’ on Jan. 23, 2004. #tbt #friends,” Cox wrote in the caption. All six main cast members—Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer—are present, along with copious amounts of food and sodas.

Kudrow wrote in the comments section, “Awwww???,” while Aniston used emojis to express her feelings with a simple, “???.” Jennifer Meyer, the jewelry designer and a close friend of Aniston and Cox, spoke for all Friends fans when she commented, “Stop teasing us and make this shit happen again @courteneycoxofficial @jenniferaniston thx ?.”

A Friends reunion show (of the non-scripted variety) has been in the works at HBO Max with interest from the entire cast. “We would love for there to be something,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2019. “But we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.” Unfortunately, though, the project recently hit a snag. Last week, HBO Max chief creative officer Kevin Reilly told the Television Critics Association, according to Deadline, “There is interest all around and yet we can’t get the interests all alighted to push the button on it.” For now, he called the reunion “just a maybe.”

Consider all of our fingers crossed. In the meantime, we have Instagram posts like Cox’s to keep us warm.

Every Time the Friends Cast Reunited and Melted Our Hearts

The world, it seems, will never tire of watching Friends. And the show’s cast apparently never tires of hanging out together, even after all these years. While the rest of us get our Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey fixes on Netflix (at least until the show moves to HBO Max in 2020), the stars just make lunch dates or show up to support each other on red carpets.

On Thursday (November 7), Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow attended the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 4th Annual Patron of the Artists Awards where Jennifer Aniston was honored with the Artists Inspiration Award. They even got to present her with the award calling Aniston “beloved, generous and deserving,” per People. “We’re not the only ones who know Jen is a remarkable person. We all love her because she’s truly, she radiates warmth and joy and humor and love,” Cox said of her friend.

They even posed with Paul Rudd, who played Phoebe’s husband, Mike Hannigan, on the red carpet.

Monica and Chandler also reunited this week, which we all learned about thanks to a sweet photo on Cox’s Instagram of her and Matthew Perry. “Guess who I had lunch with today….I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends,” she wrote in the caption. “Lucky lucky. #beautifulpeople,” Kudrow commented. Instagram newbie Aniston added, “MATTY!! ❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE YOU, GUYS.”

Not to mention, when Aniston launched her Instagram (and almost shut down the social media app) she did it with a full-on cast reunion dinner photo that featured Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Ross (David Schwimmer).

Meanwhile Cox’s feed is filled with adorable Friends moments.

All of this hanging out will certainly do nothing to quash all those reboot rumors. While Aniston has repeatedly tried to shoot those down, she did recently say that the cast is working on something. “We would love for there to be something,” she said. “But we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

We could not BE any more excited for whatever that something may be.

The Entire Friends Cast Just Reunited, According to Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston says the entire cast of Friends had dinner together at Courteney Cox’s house on Saturday, October 5. Yes, you read that correctly: All six cast members of FriendsAniston, Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry—together again.

Aniston revealed this during an interview with Howard Stern on Monday, October 7. “We just had dinner this week, on Saturday night,” she said. “The whole gang. Everyone was there.”

“Schwimmer was in town,” she continued. “We all happened to have a window of time, so we all got together.”

The actress, who played Rachel Green for 10 years on Friends, says “not one” person in the cast has ever annoyed her. “[It was] lightning in a bottle,” she said.

As for the dinner itself, Aniston says the gang “laughed so hard.” “We just laughed a lot,” she continued. “We all miss [Friends] every day. I would be nothing without it.”

This doesn’t necessarily mean a reboot of the series is in the cards, though. While Aniston has said on multiple occasions the cast would be down to get together again, they don’t want to ruin the legacy of the show.

“I really think there’s an idea that if there’s a reboot of the show, it won’t be even close to as good as what it was, so why do it?” Aniston told Stern. See this interview for yourself in the video, below:

A few Friends cast members have opened up in the past about why a reboot wouldn’t work. “I doubt it—I really doubt it,” Schwimmer said in a 2018 interview. “Look, the thing is, I just don’t know if I want to see all of us with crutches [and] walkers.” Kudrow expressed a similar sentiment: “They’re rebooting everything. I don’t know how that works with Friends, though. That was about people in their 20s, 30s,” she told Conan O’Brien. “The show isn’t about people in their 40s, 50s. And if we have the same problems, that’s just sad.”
