Demi Lovato Is Working 'Really Hard On Her Sobriety,' Says Her Younger Sister

Demi Lovato’s family continues to open up about the singer’s overdose and recovery. Late last month, Demi’s mother, Dianna De La Garza, commented on her daughter’s hospitalization for an apparent overdose and how, at the time, she wasn’t sure whether or not her daughter was going to survive. Now Demi’s sister Madison De La Garza is opening up about the ordeal as well.

“Demi’s doing, she’s doing really well,” De La Garza said during an appearance on the Millennial Hollywood with Dakota T. Jones podcast, per Perez Hilton. “She’s working really hard on her sobriety and we’re all so incredibly proud of her. It’s been crazy for our family.” The young actor also acknowledged that her family has been through a lot over the years, but that they “always come out on the other side a hundred times stronger than before.”

Madison was also asked what she plans on doing with Demi when she leaves the rehab facility where she’s receiving treatment. “I guess I’m really excited to…I mean there’s so many little things,” she said. “It sounds so small, but go to Menchie’s [Frozen Yogurt]. Honestly, I’m more of a Pinkberry person, but she likes Menchie’s, so we, like, we usually go there.”

There doesn’t yet seem to be a timetable for Demi’s release from the treatment facility, but according to her mom, she’s on the road to recovery. “She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs,” Dianna said last month. “And that, in itself, encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

You can listen to Madison’s full podcast appearance below, and skip to the 41:37 mark to hear her speak about her sister Demi.

Amber Tamblyn Says She's Having 'Really Difficult' #MeToo Conversations With Husband David Cross

Amber Tamblyn is among the many women in Hollywood leading the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements that are changing the cultural conversation around sexual harassment and assault. But she’s also putting in the work at home: In a new interview with NPR, she explained that she’s been having educational conversations with men in her life, including husband David Cross.

Cross, ICYMI, has come under quite a bit of flak in past months for allegedly making racist comments to comedian Charlyne Yi—and with that, Tamblyn was dragged into the fray as well, leading her to eventually reply, “He said he was sorry, publicly, several times. Please don’t @ me in conversations dragging my husband. Thanks.”

In May, Cross again came under fire for talking over Arrested Development star Jessica Walters during a cast panel, seemingly downplaying her when she talked about how Jeffrey Tambor had lashed out at her. “You know, one thing that Jeffrey has said a number of times that I think is important, that you don’t often hear from somebody in his position, is that he learned from the experience and he’s listening and learning and growing. That’s important to remember,” Cross said at the time.

Tamblyn, in her response, made it clear she was handing the situation at home. “I corresponded with Jessica. Just because I’m publicly silent on shit doesn’t mean I’m not privately handling shit. Now that you’re updated on what I do behind the scenes, Twitter, keep my fucking name out of your @. Feel me? Have a great Memorial Day,” she tweeted.

In the interview with NPR, she revealed a little bit about how her work leading the movement has impacted their relationship—and his behavior.

“Believe me, his eyes are open to that now, if they weren’t before,” Tamblyn said. “And this is what it took to have that change. Some men don’t change. The thing I can say about David, that I love so much about him, is that he changes. And part of his introspection and his sensitivity is that he’s aware of that… it’s just a continual sense of getting them to open their eyes and getting them to see either how they’re helping or they’re not helping.”

“I helped him to see,” she continued. “That’s the best thing that you could do. And you know that was really difficult for our family. We got death threats. … And women were coming after me and telling me ‘Oh you can’t be the head of a movement and not speak to this.'”

Tamblyn also reaffirmed her right to have a private life with her husband out of the public eye (and Twitter), before saying that she realizes that the conversations she’s having with Cross are ones many other women in America are navigating with their partners.

“I really hold a strong boundary with this and believe I’ve earned the right to privacy,” she said. “And if you care about my voice and what I have to say at all … and you think you know me, then you better assume that I’m having really difficult conversations with my husband about it. Just like all women are.”

Expect more of these convos from Tamblyn: Her new novel, Any Man, is about a woman who’s a serial rapist—and it’s already spurring discussions about how society looks at sexual assault.

A 'Riverdale' Cast Member Just Said He 'Really Likes Cole and Lili Together'

Riverdale returning last week reminded the world of two things: 1) Betty and Jughead are the cutest, and 2) They’d be even cuter if their IRL counterparts, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, were also dating off-screen. That latter question has been floating around the Riverdale universe for nearly a year. People are convinced Reinhart and Sprouse are an item, even though neither has confirmed it.

The proof is out there, though. For one, there’s the time they were caught holding hands at San Diego Comic-Con—and then they did it again on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Toss in a few sweet social media posts and this maybe-snuggle on The Tonight Show, and you have a celebrity relationship mystery for the ages.

And the plot just thickened thanks to Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead’s dad (F.P. Jones) on Riverdale. In a new interview with Access Hollywood, the actor accidentally let it slip that he “likes” Reinhart and Sprouse “together.”

When asked who his favorite Riverdale on-screen ships are, Ulrich said, “I really like Cole and Lili together—Betty and Jughead—I think there’s a lot of positive qualities about them together for sure.” Watch his interview for yourself, below:

Granted, Ulrich is most likely talking about Rienhart and Sprouse in the context of the show; that is, after all, what he was asked. But the fact he felt the need to clarify his statement by saying “Betty and Jughead” is suspicious. It’s almost as if he feared people would think he was talking about Reinhart and Sprouse off-screen if he didn’t say the characters’ names. And if that thought did cross his mind, isn’t this a sign something might be going on between C and L?

This Reinhart-Sprouse Instagram fan page certainly thinks so. The account’s runner posted Ulrich’s interview on Tuesday and captioned it, “Skeet nearly exposed himself for shipping both Sprousehart and Bughead.”

Of course, Reinhart and Sprouse never have to confirm their relationship—or lack thereof—to anyone; their personal life is completely their business. Riverdale fans have just as much fun (playfully) obsessing over interviews like this as they do fan theories.
