This Couple Had an Olive Garden-Themed Wedding, and the Pictures Are Incredible

Is there anything more magical than an Olive Garden breadstick bar at your wedding? Not for Samantha Roberts and Jeff Gilleland, a couple from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who got married this year after spending several years bonding over their shared love of Olive Garden. According to The Knot, Roberts grew up going to the chain with her family, while Gilleland fell for Olive Garden later in his adulthood. They often had date nights at the restaurant, so, naturally, they served its food at their wedding.

Olive Garden didn’t just feature prominently in the bride and groom’s wedding celebration; it played a huge role in their engagement story, too. According to The Knot, Gilleland had been one of 50 lucky customers who bought the restaurant’s limited and highly exclusive Pasta Passport to Italy, which offered purchasers an all-inclusive, one-week trip to Italy for just $200, along with an all-access pass to Olive Garden for a year. He and Roberts jetted off to Italy, where Gilleland eventually proposed. Later, there was a full-on Olive Garden-themed engagement photoshoot, but that was just a preview before the big event.

“When you love the chicken parm as much as we do, it becomes a pretty easy decision where to eat,” the couple told Insider about their love of Olive Garden.

Their wedding included dinner options for chicken parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo, and spaghetti. There was also a full breadstick bar set up with bowls and bowls of marinara sauce. And as if getting to attend this iconic wedding wasn’t enough, guests left with a very special wedding favor: never-ending pasta passes, which allows restaurant patrons to eat as much pasta as they want for nine weeks. Consider us jealous—and also very hungry.

These New Pictures of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis Will Make Your Heart Melt

We’ve had a slew of portraits of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s brood of mini-royals recently, but a new batch released by Kensington Palace on Sunday (May 19) might just be the most adorable ones yet. There’s some tough competition, too: In April, Middleton took new portraits of Prince Louis just before his first birthday. A week later, Middleton also shared new photos of Princess Charlotte in honor of the little one’s fourth birthday. It’s safe to say the kids have been looking as adorable as ever, but the new photos of those two, plus Prince George, might just take the cake. Bonus: Will and Kate appear in some, too.

The new portraits, released by Kensington Palace on Sunday, were taken amid the flora at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show, which kicks off this week. But not just any gardens: The setting for the pics is a “Back to Nature”-themed garden the duchess designed herself for the event, inspired by how time spent outdoors benefits not just kids, but people’s well-being in general.

And honestly, the garden looks pretty dreamy. That’s partly thanks, no doubt, to some special assistants: George, Charlotte, and Louis apparently helped collect sticks, leaves, and pine cones from their home for the garden.

The pictures also capture a special milestone: Prince Louis is walking! (P.S. Those overalls he’s wearing? Prince George wore them first, back in 2014.)

The duchess is also pictured playfully swinging on a seat in the garden and working on its creation with some of the flower show’s teammates. There’s a secret nod to the children’s grandmother, Princess Diana, that Middleton worked into her forest garden, too: Look at the photo of Middleton in the rope swing, and you’ll see some forget-me-nots in there—Di’s favorite flower.

The garden ties in to Middleton’s larger work as a royal: “The Duchess has committed to making early childhood development the focus of her work in the years to come, and believes that providing children with the opportunity to spend time outdoors can play an important role,” Kensington Palace’s caption for one of the pictures reads.

“I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young children,” she told the BBC. “I really hope that this woodland that we have created really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors, and spend quality time together.”

Jennifer Lopez Just Shared New Pictures of Alex Rodriguez’s Beach Proposal

Jennifer Lopez and her number-one fan and fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, have been engaged for all of four days, but that’s already way too long to go without exact proposal details. Luckily, J.Lo just blessed us all by sharing some ultra-intimate photos of the exact moment A-Rod got down on one knee during their beach vacation in the Bahamas. Spoiler alert: The whole thing was beautiful.

On Instagram Lopez posted a couple of of images that capture her emotional reaction as Rodriguez presented her with a gigantic emerald-cut diamond ring. She didn’t say much else—the post’s caption reads, “3.9.19”—but the gorgeous photos pretty much speak for themselves.

Take a look:

The engagement came after the couple had been dating a little more than two years. They broke the news that they were getting hitched on Saturday by posting identical photos of J.Lo sporting her new massive rock, which her fiancé reportedly picked out himself. He shared the image with a caption that read, “She said yes.”

Earlier today, March 12, Rodriguez offered his own lovey-dovey message to fans on his IG stories. Over a shot of the two of them hugging after the proposal, he wrote, “There aren’t many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude. Excitement. And just…joy. We know there is work to do to keep building a family and future we can be proud of, and we can’t do it without all of you. We are thankful for all of your messages of love and congratulations.”

In the days before Rodriguez popped the question, he and Lopez shared a few photos of themselves lounging on boats and on the sand during their breezy Bahamas getaway. Somewhere in that time, it seems Rodriguez found the perfect spot on the beach to make Lopez his fiancée, and the moment couldn’t have been anymore adorable.

All the Pictures From Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s Reported Honeymoon Ski Trip

A little more than a week ago, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth managed to do what few celebrities can: a super-low-key surprise wedding. Now, it sure does look like the couple is enjoying their new marital status on a magical snowy vacation, according to Cyrus’ Instagram activity.

On December 23, Cyrus and Hemsworth tied the knot in their Tennessee home in front of a small group of friends and family. At first, the world didn’t know for sure if the couple was really married—for a bit, the only images of the event came courtesy of a friend and wedding attendee’s Instagram Stories—but Cyrus later confirmed it with some gorgeously romantic photos of her in a white dress, and more importantly confirmation-wise, Hemsworth wearing a wedding ring as they embraced. Shortly after, the couple reportedly jetted off for a honeymoon over the holidays on the snowy slopes of Montana with a ton of family members in tow.

Although the newlyweds stayed fairly silent on social media up until now, that didn’t stop extended family from posting pics from the ski trip. Cyrus’ new brother-in-law, Chris Hemsworth, posted a picture of him and his wife, model, actress, and producer Elsa Pataky, in the great outdoors.

Eldest Hemsworth bro Luke also posted a pic from the slopes, featuring Liam in ski goggles:

And it looks like Luke’s wife, Samantha, came along too:

A few days later, as everyone got ready for New Year’s Eve, Cyrus—who had paused on the ‘gram since her wedding—posted a perfectly cool OOTD pic that’s frankly enough to convince anyone to try a beret…

…and, later, more outfit shots in front of a cozy-looking stone fireplace.

Pataky posted a few more shots from the big night, too—including a midnight kiss with Chris and one of her, Cyrus, and squad (the second shot in her slideshow):

Of course, Cyrus went all out with a gold balloon wall and glitter couch for the New Year’s Eve festivities.

She also added a little reminder, courtesy of what looks like a very festive onesie, that she’s still happy being her goofy self: “I can try & act cool, but this is me FoReVeR #NewYearsFit #FindYouSomeoneWhoCanDoBoth,” Cyrus captioned the post.

We’re glad that no matter what 2019 brings—or what major life changes take place—Miley will never stop being Miley.

We've Seen Pictures of Undocumented Boys in Government Facilities. Where Are the Girls?

A two-story house sits on a quiet residential street in San Diego County.

A bottle of light brown nail polish bakes in the sun beside the mailbox, with the words Color Craze printed in a fun, swirly font. Four small cartons of unopened Suncup juices—orange, grape, and apple—also lie in the dirt.

Nine signs alert passersby to stay away with messages like “Warning: Security Cameras In Use” and “No Trespassing.” It’s July 4, just before 4:00 in the afternoon, and two white minivans pull into the driveway and drop off at least six girls, who appear to range in age from 7 to 14, all wearing red shirts. The vans park in front of a side door and the girls quickly stream into the house.

“¡Gracias!” one calls to a chaperone, who declines to comment except to confirm that she had taken the girls on a field trip to celebrate Independence Day. She refers questions to Southwest Key, the same nonprofit that runs the Walmart turned migrant detention facility in Brownsville, Texas, for about 1,500 boys.

I couldn’t help wondering what the girls were told about the holiday, commemorating our country’s adoption of the Declaration of Independence stating that “all men are created equal.” As the Trump administration seeks to deter Central Americans from coming to the U.S. with his immigration crackdown, I’m curious to hear the girls’ thoughts about the holiday and how it felt to celebrate the day with a field trip.

But I can’t ask them any questions.

Inside that two-story house, where the white vans are parked, are the girls—among the ones the nation has been wondering about since the hashtag #WhereAreTheGirls spread across social media. As the Trump administration scrambles to comply with a court order to reunite nearly 3,000 migrant children with their parents by the end of the month, officials have kept the whereabouts of female migrant children shrouded in mystery, allowing journalists to view only the boys’ facilities.

When asked about the location of the girls at a press conference, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said simply, “I don’t know.” She then added that she knew they were in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services, to whom Homeland Security transfers most children within 72 hours.

This beige-colored house stands in stark contrast to some of the tent cities and cages where Central American children are kept in Texas. Yellow butterflies flit along a slope of sea figs leading up to the driveway. Mourning doves coo in the trees. A Zillow listing for the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house estimates the value of the property at nearly $900,000. Since 2006, the facility has been operated by Southwest Key. Critics have noted that the nonprofit has made $458 million in profit from detaining children.

Southwest Key declined to comment on the girls’ shelter or to let me inside. I found the house by cross-referencing publicly available documents and interviewing Southwest Key employees who spoke on condition of anonymity. Before it housed migrant children, the site was a group home for abused or neglected boys.

How many of the girls who are staying here were separated from their parents? Southwest Key has said that about 10 percent of the children at its 27 facilities in Arizona, California, and Texas fit that profile. The rest arrived at the border alone, classified as “unaccompanied.” Children who arrived with their parents but were separated from them at the border are now considered to fall under the same umbrella.

The Department of Health and Human Services has attributed its secrecy regarding its facilities for migrant minors to a need to “safeguard the privacy” of the children in its custody. But the girls’ three-level backyard—with lounge furniture, a swing set, a slide, and a basketball court—is clearly visible from the backyard of several neighbors. Both male and female residents of the neighborhood said they could see the girls playing games and doing exercises in the backyard.

Does this make the girls uncomfortable? Or are they just glad to have a view of the neighborhood, and of the sky? I don’t know. I can’t ask them.

Several neighbors have “No Parking” signs in front of their homes. Hollis Barber, 82, said he placed a “Tow-Away Zone” sign on his chain link fence because Border Patrol and unmarked vehicles visiting the girls often fill up the street and block his driveway.

“They take the girls somewhere, somewhere in the mornings,” he said. “And they come back in the evenings.”

Any of the girls who were separated from their parents must be reunited with them by the end of July. They will either need to be released or placed in family detention centers. If the latter option unfolds, they could be facing a downgrade in their living conditions. The Trump administration is planning to house families together in camps on military bases—a far cry from this large house.

I imagine that for a girl who misses her parents, such a downgrade might not be a downgrade at all. Perhaps the hardest part of all of this is being apart from mom and dad.

But I don’t know. I can’t speak to any of the girls.

Chrissy Teigen Just Called Out a Man for Taking Pictures of Her Breast Pumping

From “shitty friends” who sell stories to tabloids, to an online forum dedicated to trashing her, Chrissy Teigen has had to call out more than her fair share of toxic people. This time, the creep in question is a man who allegedly took pictures of her while she pumped breast milk in her car.

“Also to the man who took photos into our car as I was topless and pumping you can go f*ck yourself if you sell them,” the author/model/Lip Sync Battle host wrote in a couple of now-deleted tweets, according to Entertainment Tonight. “If I wanted to show you my salami nipples I’d show you my salami nipples on my own doing!”

Teigen elaborated on her thoughts about the situation in replies to other Twitter users. In response to a fan who suggested she share a breast-pumping pic herself to take the “wind outta that fools[‘] sails,” she wrote, “Oh I am definitely happy to! It’s most of my day ? just so creepy to be sitting in a car, dark out, and see flashes and a dude.”

Unfortunately, she also had to do a call-out within a call-out when another Twitter user defended the man’s decision to take pictures. “Yes jerry. Die on this hill,” she wrote. “This is what you should stand up for. A man’s right to shoot his camera into my (tinted) car. This is a great cause.”

The incident took place just three days after she had to fend off online hate about a breastfeeding photo she willingly shared herself. “Christ in a hand basket,” one self-styled Internet critic wrote. “Menstruating, childbirth and sex are natural, too, but that doesn’t mean I want to see pics of it and/or celebrities like @chrissyteigen taking a bath or nursing. We get it.”

“I don’t care to see grainy fireworks, coachella selfies or infinity pool pics but i let people live. calm your tits and scroll on by,” Teigen replied.

“Calm your tits and scroll on by,” indeed. And don’t take pictures of women without their permission!
