All the Pictures From Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s Reported Honeymoon Ski Trip

A little more than a week ago, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth managed to do what few celebrities can: a super-low-key surprise wedding. Now, it sure does look like the couple is enjoying their new marital status on a magical snowy vacation, according to Cyrus’ Instagram activity.

On December 23, Cyrus and Hemsworth tied the knot in their Tennessee home in front of a small group of friends and family. At first, the world didn’t know for sure if the couple was really married—for a bit, the only images of the event came courtesy of a friend and wedding attendee’s Instagram Stories—but Cyrus later confirmed it with some gorgeously romantic photos of her in a white dress, and more importantly confirmation-wise, Hemsworth wearing a wedding ring as they embraced. Shortly after, the couple reportedly jetted off for a honeymoon over the holidays on the snowy slopes of Montana with a ton of family members in tow.

Although the newlyweds stayed fairly silent on social media up until now, that didn’t stop extended family from posting pics from the ski trip. Cyrus’ new brother-in-law, Chris Hemsworth, posted a picture of him and his wife, model, actress, and producer Elsa Pataky, in the great outdoors.

Eldest Hemsworth bro Luke also posted a pic from the slopes, featuring Liam in ski goggles:

And it looks like Luke’s wife, Samantha, came along too:

A few days later, as everyone got ready for New Year’s Eve, Cyrus—who had paused on the ‘gram since her wedding—posted a perfectly cool OOTD pic that’s frankly enough to convince anyone to try a beret…

…and, later, more outfit shots in front of a cozy-looking stone fireplace.

Pataky posted a few more shots from the big night, too—including a midnight kiss with Chris and one of her, Cyrus, and squad (the second shot in her slideshow):

Of course, Cyrus went all out with a gold balloon wall and glitter couch for the New Year’s Eve festivities.

She also added a little reminder, courtesy of what looks like a very festive onesie, that she’s still happy being her goofy self: “I can try & act cool, but this is me FoReVeR #NewYearsFit #FindYouSomeoneWhoCanDoBoth,” Cyrus captioned the post.

We’re glad that no matter what 2019 brings—or what major life changes take place—Miley will never stop being Miley.

Demi Lovato Breaks Silence About Her Reported Overdose

Following news that Demi Lovato had reportedly overdosed on July 24, fans and celebrities sent an outpouring of support her way. Lovato was reported to be in stable condition later that day. Understandably, she’s stayed silent as she regained her health—until Sunday, that is, when she posted an update on Instagram to keep her fans and those thinking of her in the loop.

“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” she began. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.

“I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.

“I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.

“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.

“I will keep fighting ❤️,” she concluded, signing off “Demi.”

The singer has been open in the past about her struggles with addiction, speaking with Glamour in 2016 about rehab and staying sober: “Getting sober was difficult,” she said. “I went into rehab, I came out, and I didn’t stay sober. I still had issues occasionally. Now some days it’s difficult; some days it’s easy.”

In June, she released a song called “Sober” that seemed to imply she was still struggling with addition: “Momma, I’m so sorry / I’m not sober anymore / Daddy, please forgive me / For the drinks spilled on the floor.”

We’re sending all the good vibes and thoughts Lovato’s way.

Demi Lovato Is Now 'Stable' Following a Reported Overdose

TMZ broke the news earlier today that Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital following an apparent overdose. Not much information is known at this time, but an LAPD police officer told Us Weekly that paramedics responded to a home in the Hollywood Hills at 11:37 A.M. PST. People corroborated this, with a representative for the Los Angeles Fire Department telling the outlet they “transported a 25-year-old female patient to a local hospital.” In a follow-up TMZ says Lovato was reportedly treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses.

Now, in a new update, a source close to the singer tells People that Lovato is “stable.” The source also says the overdose was not heroin related, despite TMZ’s report otherwise.

Lovato’s been very transparent with the public about her struggle with addiction. The singer celebrated six years of sobriety in March. However, Lovato seemed to imply a relapse in June when she released a new song called “Sober.” “Momma, I’m so sorry/ I’m not sober anymore/ Daddy, please forgive me/ For the drinks spilled on the floor,” reads some of the lyrics.

In November 2016, Lovato opened up to Glamour about her substance abuse issues and recovery. “Getting sober was difficult,” she said, “I went into rehab, I came out, and I didn’t stay sober. I still had issues occasionally. Now some days it’s difficult; some days it’s easy.”

Glamour reached out to Lovato’s reps for comment. We’ll update this post when and if they respond.

Ariana Grande's Reported Engagement Ring Is on Full Display in This New Music Video

If you’ve been anywhere near the Internet in the last month, you know that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are engaged…and both are really, really excited about it. (See: Her tweets, his gushing appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and their mututal Instagram PDA for proof.)

Grande is so excited, in fact, that she used her new music video as an excuse to show off her reported engagement ring in an entirely new setting.

On Thursday, the singer released the video for “Dance to This,” her first ever collab with Troye Sivan, and the entire thing is basically an ode to her new (probably wedding) bling. Sure, there are other people, places, and things featured in the four-minute clip (including a group of people who seem deeply unimpressed by the Grande/Sivan concert happening around them), but the pear-shaped ring is really the star of the show.

According to initial reports, the massive stone, which appears to be surrounded by diamonds and set in a platinum and diamond band, cost $93,000 and took nearly two weeks to make.

While it’s unclear how soon Davidson and Grande will be making the jump from the Internet’s most famous fiancés to actual husband and wife, it seems Grande has been looking forward to it for a long time. “Ariana has talked about marriage since she was 15,” a source told Entertainment Tonight shortly after the engagement was confirmed. “During her teen years, she was always very dreamy about a wedding and she used to call friends and talk about one day having that one special person.”

Looks like she’s found him, and he has A+ taste in engagement rings. Watch the full video—which includes multiple close-ups of the bling—below.

Prince Charles' Reported Nickname for Meghan Markle Is Kind of Awesome

It’s fair to say that Meghan Markle is pretty resilient. How she handled the media attention after her relationship with Prince Harry went public was nothing short of graceful and brave. And Prince Charles has taken notice of Markle’s toughness—so much so that he has a nickname for her based on it.

The royal patriarch reportedly calls his new daughter-in-law “Tungsten”—which is a type of metal—as a testament to the fact that she is “strong and unbending,” according to the Daily Mail. “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy,” a source told the publication. “It’s become a term of endearment.”

Strange? Sure. But also really, really sweet.

The New York Daily News reported that Markle helped inspire Prince Harry to quit smoking and live a healthier lifestyle, so the moniker certainly makes sense.

From the outside, it seems like Markle and Prince Charles have quite a close relationship. After Markle’s own father was unable to attend the royal wedding, Prince Charles was tapped to walk her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel, and was reportedly “terribly touched” to have had the honor. Markle was also said to have helped repair the elder prince’s relationship with his son. “Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm,” a source told Daily Mail. “She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind, and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”

Prince Charles had equally flattering praise for Markle, according to Daily Mail: “She is so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more,” he reportedly thinks.

This Is How Many Sexual Assaults in the Military Were Reported Last Year

Following in the footsteps of last spring’s deeply misogynistic Marine nude photo scandal, the Department of Defense has released a report indicating the number of sexual assaults reported in the military during the 2016 fiscal year—and the numbers are pretty shocking. The Department of Defense received a total of 6,172 reports of sexual assault during from October 2015 to September 2016. (For the record, the Pentagon report defines sexual assault to also include attempts at it, as well as “sexual contact crimes.”)

That figure represents an increase of 90 reported assaults from 2015 and a significant increase from 2012’s reported count of 3,604 sexual assaults. As shocking as that is, these latest numbers are actually a conservative estimate, as Reuters, which first reported the story, points out: The Pentagon estimates that during the 2016 fiscal year, less than one-third of service members who experienced a sexual assault actually reported it. The military actually believes that rather than tracking reported assaults, doing a biannual, anonymous survey gives a clearer picture of the scale of sexual assault: during its latest such survey detailing 2016 incidents, 14,900 service members said they experienced some kind of sexual assault. That number is down from 20,300 in 2014, but let’s all agree that that’s still a lot (and that any number more than zero is too many).

Back to the 2016 report: This year marks the first time the military has broken down the number of assaults by location. It does clarify, however, that just because an assault was reported at a certain military base, it does not mean the actual crime occurred there. “This is because victims of sexual assault in the Department of Defense (DoD) may report a sexual assault at a time and place of their choosing,” the report points out.

According to the data, which was also broken down by branch, Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia counted 270 reported sexual assaults, while the one in San Diego had 187. The Army’s Fort Hood in Texas had 199, and Fort Bragg in North Carolina counted 169 reports. When it comes to the Marine Corps, Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina had 169, and Base Camp Pendleton in California had 157. Outside the country, U.S. bases in South Korea totaled a combined 211 reports.

After seeing these numbers, it’s clear that further measures need to be taken to keep service members safe. One potential tech-y development that might help protect them is the LiveSafe app the military is currently testing, which is aimed at preventing or addressing sexual assault. Of course, blame for these attacks still falls squarely on the shoulders of the people who are committing these crimes—as well as the systems that fail in holding them accountable.
