Kate Middleton Shares New Photos With George and Charlotte to Celebrate Mother's Day in the U.K.

For Mother’s Day in the U.K., Kate Middleton and Prince William spread a little cheer online by posting a few rare photos that offer a personal look at their family.

On Sunday, March 22, the royal couple sent happy wishes to all the moms out there while showing off a selection of sweet, intimate shots on their joint Instagram account, @KensingtonRoyal. The first photo portrayed Kate giving Princess Charlotte a piggyback ride while William carried Prince George on his back. If you scroll all the way through, the post also shared a card George made for his mom to celebrate today’s occasion.

The card George made is an adorable example of his handiwork, featuring a hand-drawn vase with cut-out paper flowers. The post also included images of Prince Diana with Prince Harry and Prince William, and Kate with her mother Carole Middleton.

In the caption, the duke and duchess referenced the difficult period of isolation and social distance happening throughout the globe as a result of the coronavirus health pandemic. “To mothers new and old and families spending today together and apart – we are thinking of you all at this difficult time,” the post read.

Kate and Prince William reached out to those on the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak in London last week, visiting first responders to thank them for their work during the health crisis. They reportedly met with a few met staffers and sent regards from the Queen and Prince Charles.

“That is why Catherine and I were proud to visit staff working at NHS 111, to pass on our personal thanks, along with those of my grandmother and father, to staff working around the clock to provide care and advice to those that need it most,” Prince William told the first-responders. “All of us have a part to play if we’re going to protect the most vulnerable. That means acting on the latest expert advice, staying home if we or those we live with have symptoms, and avoiding nonessential contact to help reduce the spread of the virus.”

Charlotte Awbery, the Viral Subway Singer, Sang ‘Shallow’ on ‘Ellen’—And Crushed It

“Shallow”Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscar-winning song from A Star Is Born—is still out here changing lives. Just last week the world became obsessed with British singer Charlotte Awbery, who went viral after she was filmed belting the song while commuting in a London subway station.

The video has been viewed more than 60 million times and even helped propel the song back into the top 40 on iTunes. She’s also racked up more than 400,000 followers on Instagram, including one Miss Ariana Grande.

Now she’s performing “Shallow” live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show—and sounding equally amazing. Awbery sat down with host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday, February 26, to explain what this whirlwind has been like. While some people thought the initial video must have been staged, she insists it was not. She was simply taking the tube to go meet some friends. She is, however, a professional singer who’s been doing weddings and performing in pubs and restaurants for 15 years.

“I’m absolutely overwhelmed by all of this,” she said, before revealing some advice her father gave her. “My dad always said to me, ‘Wherever you are, just sing. Never ever give up.’ And he was right.” Kevin Freshwater, who recorded the video, was also in the crowd at Ellen. He said he’d been recording people around London for two weeks when he came across Awbery. “She just blew me away,” he said. “I was just in shock.” He added, “She deserves this. I was come to tears then, watching you sing. You deserve this.”

Of course, Ellen being Ellen, she wasn’t about to let Charlotte Awbery walk out empty-handed. She gave her guest a yearlong pass for the London tube, along with £10,000. Now can we get a trio performance set up with Gaga and Cooper?

Watch the full performance and interview in the video, above.

This Photo of Princess Charlotte Has a Special Meaning for Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton just gave her first-ever podcast interview this week and gave the world insight into her life as a mom to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The duchess sate down to chat with Giovanna Fletcher on Happy Mum, Happy Baby as part of her ongoing work to foster discussions around parenting in the early years of childhood development. She talked about her own “happy childhood” and how she tries to bring the lessons she learned growing up to her own family with Prince William.

“I think the things that really resonate with me most are the simple things and actually I see that now with my own children. Life now is so busy, so distracting and actually sometimes the simple things like watching a fire on a really rainy day provides such enjoyment,” she said. “I remember that from my childhood—doing the simple things, going for a walk together, and that’s really what I try and do with my children as well because it totally strips away all the complications, all the pressures.”

There’s one photo of Princess Charlotte, in particular, that she feels captures those simple, special times. “I’ve got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and really for me it’s moments like that that mean so much to me as a parent, and I try every day to put moments like that in, even if they’re small or even if I don’t have time… but that in an ideal world is what I would like to do,” Middleton said.

Kensington Palace then shared the sweet image taken by Middleton on Instagram. Charlotte appears to be wearing one of the same outfits from the photos the Cambridges released for her fourth birthday in May, so perhaps it’s from the same shoot.

We love getting these glimpses into the royal family’s life behind the scenes. Please do more podcasts, Kate!

Watch Prince William Confuse a Baby Picture of Himself with Princess Charlotte

Prince William and Kate Middleton got back to work yesterday amid all the drama surrounding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step down from their roles as senior members of the royal family. The couple traveled to Bradford in the U.K., where they made lassis at a Pakistani restaurant, greeted huge crowds, and visited the town’s City Hall, as well as a community center.

They also got to meet Siama Ali, the Cup Caker Bradford, who created an elaborate cake in honor of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “This amazing lady Siama Ali from Bradford spent three days baking these amazing cup cakes & main ? to depict Kate & William’s childhood, meet, engagement, wedding & children. Lovely explainer from her & she is Cup Caker Bradford if you want to check her out!,” royal reporter Emily Andrews tweeted.

In a particularly adorable moment, Prince William pointed to one of the edible photos and said, “Is that me? Because that looks just like Charlotte. That is incredible.” Middleton agreed, adding, “It looks so much like Charlotte.” They also referred to the princess by her sweet nickname, “Lottie.”

The Windsor genes are very strong in Princess Charlotte. We can’t see the exact photo used on the cake, but just check out the resemblance between a young William and Charlotte, below. She is definitely a (very cute) spitting image of her dad.

But seriously, how cool would it be for someone to create a “This Is Your Life” cake marking all the significant times from your childhood to having your very own children?

Even for a royal, that sounds incredible, and it’s making us nostalgic for moments like the Cambridges’ engagement announcement and the first time they introduced Prince George to the world.

Those were definitely less complicated days, right? What a time to be alive!

Kate Middleton Releases Candid New Photo of William, George, Charlotte, and Louis for Christmas

On Christmas Eve, Kensington Palace unveiled a candid new holiday photo of Prince William and his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Kate Middleton is not featured in the picture, as she was the one who captured the sweet moment.

The black-and-white image, which was taken at the family’s Norfolk home earlier this year, sees the Duke of Cambridge crouching down to give his youngest son a kiss on the cheek while Princess Charlotte stands with her hands on little Louis’ shoulders. Prince George is photographed sitting in a nearby wicker chair, smiling at his mother behind the camera.

This is not the first time the duchess has shared her own pictures with the world. The palace often publishes photos taken by Middleton to mark important milestones in her family’s life, including birthdays and first days of school.

“Merry Christmas! This photograph of The Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis was taken by The Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk earlier this year,” Kensington Palace captioned the shot. We wish all our followers a very happy and relaxing Christmas Day.”

The release of the new family portrait comes after a family photo of the Cambridges was leaked on Twitter last week. The photo showed the family-of-five posing on a vintage motorbike and sidecar. Though it wasn’t an official portrait, the photo was spotted on Queen Elizabeth’s desk when she delivered her annual Christmas address on Monday, December 24.

Kate and William’s black-and-white family photo seems to mirror Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s candid and intimate Christmas card that was released earlier this week. In the snap, shared via Twitter on by the royal charity Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, the newlywed couple sits in front of a Christmas tree while seven-month-old Archie poses front and center.

This year, Duke of Duchess of Sussex are spending the holiday in Canada while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend Christmas at the royal estate in Sandringham with the queen.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a Soccer Match

On Saturday, the royal family partook in a tried-and-true fall Saturday outing: watching a soccer match. But all eyes were squarely on Prince George who unequivocally won the sporting event thanks to his, shall we say, more than enthusiastic celebrations.

The 6-year-old was spotted in the stands clapping, waving and cheering on Aston Villa (who also happens to be his dad’s favorite team) as they took on Norwich City. While Princess Charlotte watched quietly while seated next to Kate Middleton (Prince Louis did not seem to be in attendance) George was enthralled with every moment, turning to Prince William to share in his excitement.

The future king of England quickly began trending on Twitter for his over-the-top expressions — it’s what the rest of us look like watching Bachelor in Paradise.

Here’s George strategizing the team’s next moves with his dad:
