Disney Shared Its Cookie Fries Recipe — And They're So Easy to Make

Disney’s Cookie Fries from the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop are arguably one of the park’s most fun, dunkable treats. Now, Disney is sharing the recipe for those of us social-distancing and staying at home.

In March, Disney made the decision to close its park doors amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, in an effort to lift spirits, the company has been releasing recipes for some of the most popular food items. From the famed Dole Whip to their sugary Churros, each delicious treat has been shockingly easy to make at home. Now, you can try your hand at making cookie fries, the perfect treat to dunk in chocolate, marshmallows, and more. Best of all, they are completely plant-based, meaning vegans and vegetarians can openly enjoy this sweet treat too.

“The plant-based cookie fries are unique and yummy treat to end your meal with,” Disney explained in a blog post. “Similar to biscotti, these chocolate chip cookie sticks come with several plant-based dipping sauces: marshmallow cream, chocolate, and strawberry.”

The Disney recipe makes 32 cookie fries, though you may want to double (or triple) it because they are just that good.

Here are all the ingredients you’ll need:

2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1/2 cup plus one tablespoon plant-based margarine, softened
7 tablespoons warm water
5 tablespoons liquid egg substitute
1 tablespoon molasses
1/2 cup dairy-free mini chocolate chips

Disney’s directions are super simple to follow, too:

  1. Combine flour, powdered sugar, and plant-based margarine in bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed until smooth. (Note: You could do this step by hand if need be.)

  2. In a small bowl, combine warm water and egg substitute. Add egg substitute and molasses to your mixer. Mix on medium speed until smooth.

  3. Fold in chocolate chips.

  4. Place in an 8×8-inch pan and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  5. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

  6. Cut into 32 strips that are 1/4-inch wide and 4 inches long. Place 16 strips on each baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 20-22 minutes, until crunchy.

  8. Serve with your favorite plant-based chocolate, strawberry, and marshmallow dipping sauces.

Disney notes that egg substitutes can react a little differently in sugar and flour. If your dough is too sticky the Mouse House suggests adding one additional tablespoon of powdered sugar at a time until it resembles the texture of traditional cookie dough. But really, even if they are a little off from the real thing they’re still going to be delicious.

Disney Shared Its Famous Churros Recipe—and You Probably Have All the Ingredients

First, Disney released its iconic Dole Whip recipe to cure your self-isolation boredom. And now it’s giving us the equally-delicious churros recipe, just in time to give you a new baking project for the week.

While you may not be able to visit Disneyland or Disney World, as the parks are shut down indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, you can still recreate the sweet treats sold at them. Just imagine how amazing your kitchen will smell when that dough starts frying.

The great news is that the churros recipe doesn’t require any super-complicated ingredients, so there’s a solid chance everything you need is actually in your pantry right now—especially if you’ve been participating in the massive baking trend sweeping the country as everyone isolates at home.

Here’s your ingredients list:

  • 1 cup water
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups vegetable or canola oil
  • ½ cup sugar

Even for the novice chef, the instructions aren’t too complicated. Here they are, per Disney’s website:

” 1. Combine water, butter, salt, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in 1 ½-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring pot to rolling boil.

  1. Reduce heat to low.

  2. Add flour and stir vigorously until mix forms a ball. Remove from heat and let rest for 5-7 min.

  3. Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside.

  4. Heat oil in medium skillet or 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat or until temperature reaches 350˚.

  5. Spoon dough into piping bag fitted with large star tip. Pipe 1-inch strip of dough over saucepan, cut with knife, and drop into hot oil. Repeat until churro bites fill saucepan with room to fry.

  6. Fry churro bites until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon or mesh spider strainer.

  7. Drain churro bites on paper towel.

  8. Mix sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in medium bowl. Toss in churro bites until coated. Place on serving plate and serve with favorite dipping sauce.”

Kate Middleton and Prince William Just Shared a Rare Photo of Their Home on Easter Sunday

Kate Middleton and Prince William just gave fans a rare glimpse at their home in celebration of Easter. The royal couple usually joins Queen Elizabeth II at St. George’s Chapel for a church service, however, this year will be different as they’re all observing the holiday separately amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic—just like many families around the world.

On Sunday, April 13 the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked the occasion by sharing a stunning exterior shot of their London residence, Kensington Palace, surrounded by yellow daffodils. “Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter,” they captioned the post, which was accompanied by a bunny rabbit, a chick emoji and the hashtag #StayHomeSaveLives.

Middleton and Prince William recently gave us a never-before-seen peek at their home office as they continue their royal duties from home. Now, they’re just spoiling us.

Of course, this Instagram is not the only way post honoring the holiday on their page. On April 8, the royal couple surprised a group of teachers and students in the U.K. with an Easter video call—and there were many bunny ears involved.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t the only members of the royal family to share messages on Easter—and it looks like flowers were the central theme for Prince Charles and Princess Eugenie’s posts as well.

The Queen also shared a message of encouragement in what is reportedly Her Majesty’s first-ever Easter address, according to The Daily Mail. The Queen, who turns 94 later this month, is social distancing at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip. In her speech, she urged the public to continue practicing social distancing.

“This year, Easter will be different for many of us, but by keeping apart we keep others safe,” she said. “But Easter isn’t canceled; indeed, we need Easter as much as ever.

“We know that coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be—particularly for those suffering with grief—light and life are greater,” the monarch added. “May the living flame of the Easter hope be a steady guide as we face the future.”

Dole Whip: Disney Just Shared Its Official Recipe, and It Only Takes 3 Ingredients

Dole Whip is a Disney theme park dessert staple, but now that the parks are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, you won’t have official access to it for a while. But you can do the next best thing: make it from the comfort of your own home. That’s right: Disney is finally letting everyone in on how to recreate the experience from anywhere in the world.

The Dole Whip recipe was shared on the Disneyland Resort app in April—and the “frozen pineapple treat” is so easy to make and only requires three ingredients.

Here’s what you need to make a single serving:

  • 1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • 4 oz of pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple

That’s it! Be sure to add these ingredients to your next Insta-Cart order, and don’t forget to tip well. Then, you simply add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until the mixture is totally smooth. If you want to be totally authentic to the Disney style, you’ll serve the dish in a swirl shape (though you can also just pour it into a bowl and go if you’re all about the taste, not the aesthetic). So easy, right? Just like that, you can imagine you’re at Disney. Maybe pick an old favorite movie or show to stream on Disney+ to fully complete the at-home experience. (Here are our favorite Disney movies.)

Now that Dole Whip a la Disney is in the world, will it become the new banana bread of our Instagram feeds? Disney also released its churros recipe earlier in the week if you need a little something extra to snack on while you work from home.

All we can say is “YUM!” Don’t mind us, we’ll just be dipping Disney churros into Dole Whip for the rest of the quarantine.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Just Shared Their Final Instagram Post

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just about waved farewell to every aspect of their senior royal duties. They’ve wrapped up their final engagements and moved across the pond. Now they’re saying goodbye to one last tether: their Sussex Royal Instagram account. (This, no doubt, is probably because of restrictions they now have on using the word royal in their professional endeavors.)

On March 30, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (yes, those are still their titles, but you can just call him Harry) posted their final message on to IG. It’s worth noting that the comments have been disabled, likely with the knowledge that fans would have a very strong reaction.

“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile,” the message, directly from the duke and duchess, began. “Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realize the fullness of that promise. What’s most important right now is the health and well-being of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic.”

“As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute,” they continued. “While you may not see us here, the work continues.”

They closed the statement by thanking their followers and promising they will be back in a new way, shortly. Of course, they didn’t say exactly when or how: “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration, and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great. Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.” The couple signed the post simply, “Harry and Meghan.”

And for those of you, like Donald Trump, wondering what the couple’s move to Los Angeles means for the United States, they will not be requesting any special treatment from the U.S. government for security purposes.

“A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex says they have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources,” royals correspondent Rhiannon Millshave tweeted on March 29. “Privately funded security arrangements have been made.”

Looks like they’re just your friendly, neighborhood Meghan and Harry now.

Drake Just Shared the First Photo of His Son, Adonis

Drake has remained pretty quiet about his son, Adonis. But the rapper just shared his first photos of the little boy on Instagram—and he is so cute. In one, Adonis is sitting on his dad’s lap and in another Drake poses with Adonis and his mother, Sophie Brussaux. He also shared a photo of his own parents in the set.

It seems like the coronavirus pandemic has Drake all up in his feelings about family, because he also shared some heartfelt words of support for fans. “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy,” he wrote.

“Remember that you are never alone, and if you need to be reminded of that ask for support and it will show up. Everything comes down to intention, and even though there are conflicting energies circling around us you must KNOW…It will rebuild,” he continued. “But in order for that to happen, you have to do exactly that. Trust. You have the biggest heart and that is your greatest gift. It’s impossible to always control your surroundings, but when you shift the focus to how you want to feel, everything will conspire to assist you. I love and miss my beautiful family and friends and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite. Until then please keep your lights on. ?”

Whatever prompted Drake to share these photos of Adonis, we are grateful for it. That head of curls is enough to make anyone smile. And who doesn’t need to smile right now?
