Ryan Reynolds' Latest Blake Lively Troll Involves a Divorce Joke

Blake Lively is hard at work filming a movie, so you know what that means: Ryan Reynolds is back to his usual antics, trolling the press and his wife at the same time with some fake news about their relationship. “My wife’s been shooting a film overseas so I’ve been having a ton of time to pretend like I’m watching the kids,” the actor joked, according to E! News, at a San Diego Comic-Con panel to promote Deadpool 2 on Saturday. “She’s probably filing [divorce] papers as we speak.” As E! reported, the couple have two daughters, 3-year-old James and 1-year-old Inez.

This is far from the first time Reynolds has teased the media about his and Lively’s marriage. In March, a tabloid ran a headline that claimed the couple was “struggling to spend ‘quality time'” together. The actor immediately shut it down with a characteristically snappy tweet: “I wish,” he wrote in response. “I could use a little ‘me time.'” Then, in April, he had another cheeky comeback for a Yahoo! headline that read, “Ryan Reynolds … joins Blake Lively and his mom on red carpet after shutting down split rumors.”

“We’re never splitting. She’ll always be my mom,” he tweeted. “No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends.”

Lively filming on location without her family is actually pretty unusual for her. “My husband and I don’t work at the same time, so we all go together as a family,” Lively told People last October. “If we’re away as a family, it’s never more than for a day. We stay together.” But becase the actress is shooting overseas (E! reported she’s recently been filming a thriller, The Rhythm Section, in Spain and Ireland), it would make sense if they’re making an exception because of how young their kids are.

Come See Your Favorites Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the First Trailer for 'A Simple Favor'

It seems like Blake Lively‘s character Emily has the perfect life in the upcoming film A Simple Favor—but then she suddenly disappears, leaving her husband, son, and new friend Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) reeling.

As seen in the film’s first full trailer, which arrived Friday morning, it’s difficult to tell whether Emily was more indecipherable before or after her disappearance. All that’s certain is that she’s always been a “beautiful ghost,” per her husband Sean (played by Crazy Rich Asians‘s Henry Golding), and that she owned at least three impeccably chic menswear-inspired suits, including one perfectly tailored tux that she pairs with wrist-length red leather gloves.

Before Emily Gone Girls herself, she befriends Stephanie, a mommy vlogger with a child in Emily’s son’s class. Though Emily invites Stephanie to her gorgeous home to sip on midday martinis and “trade confessions,” she continues to keep her earnest new sidekick at arm’s length, demanding that Stephanie delete a photo she took of Emily and advising her, “You do not wanna be friends with me. Trust me.”

Not long after that ominous warning, Emily calls Stephanie to ask her for the titular simple favor, at which point Stephanie and Sean discover that Emily is nowhere to be found. The search to figure out what happened to Emily leads Stephanie to cover the town in “Have You Seen Me?” posters, discover that Sean may have taken out a $4 million life insurance policy on his wife before she vanished, and travel to a “Bible Camp” to meet with an artist (Linda Cardellini) who once painted a portrait of Emily in a Jessica Rabbit-esque red wig and matching red leather boots. “She is not a normal person like you or me. I’ve never seen such a beautiful girl wanna be so invisible,” Cardellini’s character says. So, yeah: a beautiful ghost.

A Simple Favor hits theaters September 14. Watch the full trailer below.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' Latest Instagram Trolling Is One for the Books

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have a history of trolling each other on Instagram. There was the time Reynolds posted a cropped photo of Lively for her birthday—and she retaliated by uploading a pic of Ryan Gosling for his big day. Also, never forget when Reynolds came for Lively’s on-set makeover for her movie The Rhythm Section. These two love pranking each other on social media, to the point where they’ve practically made a sport out of it.

And their latest instance of trolling is one for the books: As promotion for his new film Deadpool 2, Reynolds dusted off one of his old gags and had his “twin brother” Gordon Reynolds interview him. It’s very funny, especially because Gordon is not real.

Lively caught wind of the video and left a truly life-giving comment directed at Reynolds. “Sh*t. Your brother is hot. I’ve made a terrible mistake…,” she wrote.

Of course, Reynolds was quick to write a witty response: “You haven’t made a mistake. You’ve been living with him for over a year,” he wrote.

Somewhere in a parallel universe, Gordon Reynolds is laughing at all of this.

Check out Lively and Reynolds’ mutual trolling for yourself, below:

Lively’s admitted in the past that she gets a kick out of her husband’s funny tweets and Instagrams. She told Glamour last year, “I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I’m in love with him most of the time, but especially with that.”

We’re in love with his tweets, too. And the Instagram trolling. Keep the comments coming, you two.

P.S. If you want to watch the Reynolds-“Reynolds” interview (and you should), say no more:

Blake Lively Apparently Drove Herself to the Hospital While in Labor

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have the most wonderful social media relationship—and, we’re pretty sure, real-life relationship too. (Reynolds has, after all, called being Lively’s husband the “best gig”.) As it turns out, their partnership holds fast even during critical moments—like, say, when Lively was in labor and needing to head straight for the hospital.

In a tweet that is also not-so-subtly a promo for Lively’s upcoming movie, A Simple Favor, Reynolds threw in a little factoid guaranteed to get headlines: “You can tell me. We’re married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So… what the fuck happened to Emily?” (Emphasis ours.)

He was replying to this emoji-filled tweet from Lively, which was also teasing her movie: “❓????❓ @ASimpleFavor”

After Ryan’s response, Lively chimed back in: “Oh darling, of all the secrets I’m keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns… trust me.”

This isn’t the first time Lively/her team have harnessed her social media to promo A Simple Favor. At the beginning of May, she wiped her Instagram clean, replacing her bio with “What Happened to Emily?…”. For those of us who follow Lively’s self-styled outfits, this was an egregious blow, but she luckily had it back up and running in no time.

Nor is it the first instance of a little social media back-and-forth for her and hubby Reynolds. The two are experts at trolling each other, like that one time when Reynolds wished Lively a happy birthday with a picture of the two of them—but cropped her out of it. Now that one of their daughters is in on the tradition, too, we’re just ready for the next installment.

Blake Lively Wears Party Dress and Heels to Gym, Admits She's Not Good at Athleisure

In a single week, Blake Lively has expertly channeled a Renaissance queen and “…Baby One More Time”-era Britney Spears with her wardrobe. She’s proven to be quite the style chameleon, but there’s one look that she can’t quite master: athleisure.

After attending a Baby2Baby Mother’s Day event on Saturday afternoon, Lively decided to pay a visit to trainer Don Saladino—except, she didn’t change out of the pink-and-white Jenny Packham dress, bow-topped Christian Louboutin heels, and oversized Alison Lou earrings she wore to the first function. As she admitted in her Instagram Story late Sunday night, it can be tough to get back into leggings and ratty T-shirts after spending most of your public-facing life in couture gowns and six-inch stilettos. Relatable.

“I’ve never been great at ‘athleisure,'” Lively captioned a shot of her holding up two 20-pound weights in the gym in a not-quite-athleisure-at-all outfit. “Chill @donsaladino,” she added, evidently responding to the disapproving look her trainer is giving her in the photo. She rounded out the snapshot with an eye-roll emoji and an all-too-appropriate “wearin’ what I want” GIF sticker.

Lest you think Lively actually works out in heels, rest assured that the 30-year-old does, in fact, own a pair of running shoes: Back in February, the mom of two shared a photo on Instagram of her posing with her trainer and, yes, wearing black leggings and a matching sports bra—though the ensemble is, of course, many times more chic than most of what the rest of us wear on the treadmill.

It’s okay, Blake—we relate more to the Saturday Night Live interpretation of athleisure ourselves.

Blake Lively Wears Red Hair With Pin-Up Bangs on the Set of Her New Movie

Blake Lively is nothing if not committed to switching up her beauty looks for a movie role. The latest example comes courtesy of her upcoming project The Rhythm Section, which is currently filming. In it, she plays Stephanie Patrick, a woman who loses her family in a plane crash—and when she finds out that the crash may not have been an accident, she becomes an undercover assassin to track the culprits down. Since it started filming, we’ve caught her in no fewer than three completely different looks; this latest one, which features Blake in long red hair and pin-up-like baby bangs, looks so different we did a major double-take.

It wasn’t that long ago—just back in November—that photos of her on set emerged showing a Blake we honestly didn’t recognize at first: in a short, shaggy wig with a grown-out, brassy dye job that was a far cry from the rather glam Blake of the Long Golden Waves we normally see in red carpet and paparazzi pics. And then, in early December, Blake posted an Instagram of herself in a jet-black pixie cut.

But with the new year comes another new Blake—though, strictly speaking, the look is a first for the film only. After all, we’ve seen Blake with long red hair before: Remember her mermaid-like copper waves in 2011? Of course, this is a different kind of red (golden-red, to be precise). And check out that retro fringe!

We can’t wait to see what other looks this role throws our way—and to see them all together when the film finally comes out next February.
