Blake Lively Is Totally Unrecognizable on the Set of Her New Movie

Blake Lively’s made a habit of picking roles post-Gossip Girl that have required her to transform in some way. In 2016’s The Shallows, she swapped her signature glam aesthetic for a sandy wetsuit and beach waves. In All I See Is You, which premiered last month, Lively dyed her hair chestnut brown—a far cry from the bright, California blond she’s known for. And in A Simple Favor, her new movie with Anna Kendrick due out next year, she looks straight out of Orange Is the New Black.

But she makes her most drastic change, hands down, in the upcoming thriller The Rhythm Section, which is based on the bestselling book series by Mark Burnell and also stars Jude Law. Lively plays Stephanie Patrick, a woman whose family dies in what she originally thinks is a plane accident. However, when she discovers the crash was intentional, she goes undercover as an assassin to find the people responsible.

And these new photos from the set show just how “undercover” Lively looks. The actress is virtually unrecognizable in the short, shaggy wig she’s required to wear for the role. Don’t take our word for it, though. Check it out for yourself, below:

Granted, we’re not 100 percent sure this is a wig. For all we know, she could’ve actually chopped her hair off for this movie—but that’s unlikely. Lively will probably have multiple looks in The Rhythm Section because her character is trying to navigate the world unseen. Who knows, though. Maybe this movie will inspire Lively to cut her hair shorter IRL. Serena van der Woodsen would truly be gone if that happened.

The Rhythm Section is slated for a 2019 release.

Blake Lively Just Hilariously Trolled Ryan Reynolds for His Birthday

Much fuss is made over Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ seemingly perfect marriage, and for good reason: They’re absolutely hilarious together. Sure, they have their serious moments—like the time Ryan praised Blake for making him “a more empathetic person”—but the two are best when they’re trolling each other.

Take, for example, the time Blake called Ryan out for blocking her photo of John Legend. There’s also the musical prank Ryan played on Blake while she was giving birth to their first daughter, James. (So rude, by the way!) And we can’t forget the GIF Ryan tweeted of Blake that compared their first date to her shark movie, The Shallows.

One of the couple’s funniest moments, though, happened this summer, when Ryan posted on Instagram to honor Blake on her birthday. There was just one problem: He cropped half of her face out of the photo.

Well, it seems Blake has taken the strategy of “don’t get mad, get even” to heart. Here’s what she just posted today on Instagram to celebrate Ryan’s birthday:

She followed that slick move with this tweet:

Well done, Blake, well done. Ryan, meanwhile, had his own birthday jokes to share on Twitter, writing, “My kids tried to surprise me for my birthday this morning. I totally heard them coming and snuck out to start a new life somewhere else.”

But don’t worry about this tweet offending Blake—in fact, his sense of humor is one of the many reasons why she loves her husband. “He’ll run [his tweets] by me sometimes just to make me laugh. But oh, I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I’m in love with him most of the time, but especially with that,” she told Glamour earlier this year. “I treat him like my girlfriend. I’m like, ‘Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?’ And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy.”

Blake Lively Says It 'Isn't Enough' to 'Stand in Solidarity' With Harvey Weinstein's Accusers

PHOTO: Mike Coppola/Getty Images

Since The New York Times and The New Yorker published stories about Harvey Weinstein’s decades of alleged sexual misconduct, many celebrities have voiced support for the ousted producer’s accusers. But Blake Lively says that’s not enough.

“It’s more than just, ‘Oh, we’re talking about it and we’re supporting it,’ it’s action,” she said Monday on Good Morning America. “Everybody says that they stand in solidarity, but you have to show that you stand in solidarity.”

Her call to action, which was applauded and cheered by the studio audience, was the conclusion of a thoughtful impromptu speech about how to address the pervasiveness of sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.

“I think it’s important we acknowledge this isn’t just Hollywood,” Lively began. “This is so much more global. And it’s not just, ‘Oh, guess what, this is what’s happening to women suddenly.’ This has been happening since the beginning of time, but now people are finally talking about it and I think that’s what’s important.”

Lively added just because one isn’t personally a victim of sexual harassment or assault, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

“Where I never had experiences like this with Harvey myself, I only
had positive ones with him, but that goes to show where you don’t
always see what goes on behind closed doors. So I think that when
people come forward, your bosses have to acknowledge it. There’s been
moments when I’ve come forward, other people have come forward with
things that just feel a little [inappropriate] and you’re not sure,
but when your bosses tell you that this is not priority to them, then
you think, ‘Okay, well this must not be that big of a deal. Maybe what
I’m complaining about isn’t really that big of a deal.’ And it is.”

Lively has revealed her own experiences with reporting sexual harassment, only to get blown off by her employers. Last week, she told The Los Angeles Times about a makeup artist who harassed her by filming her while she was sleeping. When she reported him to the project’s producers, however, they failed to take any action, she said. The makeup artist was only removed after her lawyer got involved and prompted the producers to begin an investigation. And he left with a letter of recommendation, she told the LA Times.

Previously, Lively had spoken about the importance of believing people like herself and Weinstein’s accusers, who include Gwyneth Paltrow and Rose McGowan, when they speak out about their experiences with sexual harassment and assault. “The number-one thing that can happen is that people who share their stories, people have to listen to them and trust them, and people have to take it seriously,” she told The Hollywood Reporter last Tuesday. “As important as it is to remain furious about this, it’s important to also say that this exists everywhere, so remember to look everywhere. This isn’t a single incident. This cannot happen, this should not happen, and it happens in every single industry.”

Blake Lively Spills on Filming Sex Scenes While Being Married to Ryan Reynolds

It may seem like being in the same industry as your spouse could create unnecessary tension and competition. But according to Blake Lively, the pros of being married to another actor far outweigh the potential cons. While appearing on Good Morning America on Monday to promote her new film All I See Is You, the actress opened up about how being married to Ryan Reynolds has impacted her work.

“In general, it’s nice to have somebody who understands what you’re doing. Especially because our job is so weird—you have to be married to other people, it’s all so strange. It’s never normal, even when we’re both doing it,” she said. “But it’s helpful to know when you’re acting that you’re in a relationship with someone, that that’s not what’s actually happening. Because I have friends who aren’t married to someone who’s in the business, so they’re like, ‘Oh, so you’re not actually making love in that scene?!’ And I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no, definitely not.'”

And speaking of vulnerable scenes, earlier this month, the 30-year-old shared that she decided to break her no-nudity rule for All I See Is You, in which she plays a blind woman who regains her sight in her late 20s and soon realizes that her extremely codependent marriage isn’t what it seems. Lively told Vanity Fair that before reading the script for the psychological drama, she had always found onscreen nudity “distracting.” “I’m very in love with my husband, but if there’s a pair of boobs out, I’m a human being! You’re like, ‘boobs!’ It doesn’t mean I’m lusting for them, but when there’s naked boobies, you look at them,” she said.

The actress opened up about her easygoing relationship with Reynolds in an interview with Glamour earlier this year. “In other relationships, if something came up, I would call my girlfriends or my sister, and say, ‘Hey, this is what he did—what should I do?'” she said. “Where with him, we were friends for two years before we were ever dating. And I treat him like my girlfriend. I’m like, ‘Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?’ And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy.”

Blake Lively Gushed About Her Meat-Loving 'Baby Viking' Daughter on 'Jimmy Fallon'

PHOTO: Andrew Lipovsky/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images

Blake Lively dropped into Jimmy Fallon’s late night show on Friday for a quick catch-up sesh, chatting to the host about her family life and two daughters, 2-and-a-half-year-old James and 1-year-old Ines.

During the show, we learned that Ines is a total carnivore, to the point where Lively dubbed her a “baby Viking.” The infant just celebrated her first birthday with a party at the end of September, as Lively told it, but the Cookie Monster birthday cake Lively lovingly made her wasn’t what she was into that day.

“…she just looked at it and reached for a steak,” says Lively. “She was ham-fisting two steaks. Her sleeves were dripping in blood from steak.”

The actress then pulled out an extremely apropos Game of Thrones reference to draw a comparison: “It’s like she’s a White Walker.”

Lively also dance-battled it out with Fallon, thanks to the show’s famous dance-move generator. Check out the video below for hot new moves like “The Catching the Bouquet” and “Trying to Pretend You Don’t Have a Wedgie”:
