Bella Hadid Cut Her Own Bangs While in Quarantine, and They Look Great

Bella Hadid just did something you’ve no-doubt been contemplating while stuck in quarantine: cut her own bangs.

The supermodel took to Instagram Stories on Monday night, April 20 to unveil the new look, and no surprise, it’s great. Bella opted to give herself just some partial bangs, and when swooped to the side, they look totally chic.

It’s unclear what scissors she used for this cut or how, exactly, she went about doing it, but the end result is fire. Here’s hoping this cured at least a few hours of her self-isolation boredom. God knows I’ve killed a few hours just thinking about cutting my own bangs.

But I’ve yet to take the plunge, as Bella Hadid has. This is par for the course for the 23-year-old, who just last week experimented with gray hair. Of course, that turned out to be a filter which made Bella’s look gray; she didn’t actually dye it.

Not that she’s opposed to that, though. Bella loves a good hair transformation. Remember when she went bright blond last summer and looked just like her older sister, Gigi?

Early in her career, Bella dispelled rumors she dyed her hair brown for the sole purpose of distinguishing herself from Gigi. “Well, I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi,” she told Glamour in August 2016. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!” (The two sisters are best friends and close in age; Gigi is 24 years old.)

Maybe Bella will go back to blond while in self-isolation. If her recent updates are any indication, we may be in for several more beauty transformations before quarantine is over. Hooray for more things for me to live vicariously through!

Sarah Hyland Just Gave Wells Adams a Buzzcut, and It Actually Looks Great

If there’s one thing Sarah Hyland and fiancé Wells Adams have going for them, it’s trust.

Like Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson before them, Adams put the fate of his hair in the Modern Family star’s hands by asking her to shave his head. Don’t worry, though: They made sure to document the entire experience on April 7 via Instagram Stories.

“This has gotten to be too much,” the Bachelor in Paradise bartender said of his curls before asking Hyland how many times she’s cut a man’s hair. Her response, dear reader, is zero times. The suspense is killing you, I’m sure.

Here goes nothin’! Hyland went in on the side of Adams’s head with clippers, shortened for your viewing pleasure in a hyperlapse video. Unlike Cyrus, Hyland didn’t take off all her man’s hair, and she didn’t have any outside help. Oh, and Hyland didn’t follow up by cutting her own hair to match the infamous mullet of Tiger King’s Joe Exotic. (Yeah, check out Cyrus’s new look, here.)

The results? Pretty great for a first-timer. “She did a pretty good job,” Adams said with a smile.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are a pretty adorable couple. The pair first met after Hyland tweeted about her crush on the Bachelorette contestant back in 2016, and they continued to flirt back and forth.

According to Hyland’s recent interview with Cosmopolitan, they went on about two dates before he made his first grand, Bachelor Nation–worthy gesture. After Hyland underwent her second kidney transplant in September 2017, Adams flew from Nashville to L.A. on the weekends to spend time with her during her recovery. Yes, he met the parents almost immediately.

Still, Hyland was the one who made the first move towards DTR. “I asked him when he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend,” she said in the interview. “I’m impatient.” The rest is history, and Adams proposed on a beach (of course it was a beach) in July 2019.

I love love.

The Bachelorette's Mike Johnson Suggests Producer Julie LaPlaca Would Make A Great ‘Future’ Lead

In July 2019, before he left the show, Lovato had posted footage of Johnson on the Bachelorette to her Instagram Stories, writing in the caption, “Mike I accept your rose.” In the video she could reportedly be heard saying, “Swing me, kiss me! Boo boo.” Just a few days later, he was sent home.

Johnson took to Twitter writing, “Jus saying, my future wife though girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where u hiding.”

The two then had some major back-and-forths with likes and comments on Instagram and Twitter before allegedly taking it offline for some IRL dates. In September 2019, Johnson spoke out about the budding relationship. “I’m just getting to know Demi,” he told E! “I think she’s absolutely fantastic, and I don’t want no pressure on her, no pressure on me—we’re just trying to get to know each other. That’s all.” Sadly, by October, the relationship was done.

Back to the present, though—maybe Johnson was flirting with LaPlaca with those comments or maybe this is just his personality. Or, a third option: what if this is all just a setup to have her become the next Bachelorette (after Clare Crawley’s season, of course) and for Johnson to re-join the cast? Either way, we’re in.

Clean Skin Care Routines: 4 Women With Great Skin Share Theirs

We all have those Instagram accounts we check daily, turn post notifications on for, and refer to in conversation like they’re our actual friends. If you’ve ever scrolled onto one of these photos and wondered, How does she do it? you’re in luck. Welcome to our series Insta Stalking, in which we talk to the women behind the accounts we’re obsessing over about their beauty secrets. Below, four women with great skin share their clean skin care routines.

Thanks in part to the internet, we now have more information than ever about what we are actually putting on (and into) our bodies. As women gain awareness and interest in what’s in their products, the “clean beauty” movement has rapidly grown. While there’s nothing wrong with pushing for products that are better for us and the planet, there are so many buzzwords—clean, green, natural, organic—floating around that it’s hard to sort through the noise. Add to the fact that every retailer and brand has their own definition of the word clean, and things can get a little murky.

Generally speaking, clean beauty refers to products free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and artificial fragrance (again, this varies depending on who you ask), but has grown to lump products with all-natural or organic ingredients. Some also take sustainability into account. There’s also a lot misinformed stereotypes associated with clean beauty: That it’s crunchy (think more Whole Foods than Sephora), ineffective, or expensive, which can make going green intimidating. To make things a little easier, we asked four women who are passionate about clean beauty to define what it means to them, and share their clean skin care routines. Read on for the products they can’t live without.

Gabby Azorsky, 23, e-commerce sales assistant in Brooklyn

The beauty industry is fairly unregulated, so it’s important to me to use products with ingredients and from companies that I trust (I follow the EU’s standards as a guideline, which has stricter policies than the US). Sometimes I’ll use a product that isn’t “clean” for special occasions or a fun makeup look, but for daily wear, keeping it clean makes me feel like myself.

I eat colorfully, organic, and as unprocessed as possible, and think of my personal care in the same way. Eating lots of leafy greens, nourishing foods, and drinking plenty of water is the most important part of my skin care routine. Product-wise, I like to keep it simple. I have a few core products that I stick to, and then rotate or play with new products as I run out. I also generally switch out my cleanser and face oil with the seasons.

The S’well Eats Meal Prep Container Is Great to Own but Even Better to Gift

The best gifts are the ones you never thought you needed. They’re equal parts thoughtful, unexpected, and practical. It helps then, too, when they look good. One idea? Meal prep containers, aka the adult euphemism for ‘lunch box.’

Totally fair if insulated food containers don’t get your heart racing (also fair if they remind you of fluorescent mess halls and soggy sandwiches), but what they lack in showmanship they make up for in undeniable utility. Still, finding one you love enough to gift or use every day of the week can be hard: it has to feel special but also be useful, and look pretty without just being decorative—all while not costing too much. Well, take it from someone whose job it is to find you the things that are actually worth your time and money: The S’Well Eats Meal Prep Container in Teakwood is your new lunchtime MVP—and doubles as one of the best gifts you can give this year.

Before you start furrowing your brow, hear me out. I’m not the diligent meal prepper I always want to be, but I do bring my lunch to work every day. And before I came across the S’Well Eats bowl, it just so happens I was due for a new Tupperware-but-cuter food storage container. (I may have dropped my old glass one in the office kitchen and watched it shatter into a million little pieces before not one, but four people came to my rescue. Yes, I’m still cringing).

So, I took a chance on the S’Well Eats Meal Prep Container. It’s part of a collection of insulated food containers that everyone’s favorite water bottle brand launched over the summer, and it was the answer to my meal prep prayers.

I’m a big believer in multi-hyphenate kitchen products, and as a daily food storage container, it delivers. The bowl is leak-proof, break-proof, and dishwasher-friendly. Which basically means it’s perfect for anyone who likes to eat liquid-y things like soups or saucy pasta (me), is known to drop a lot of things (also me), and likes to get their dishes done quickly (me again!). My favorite part is the actual construction: it has a stainless steel outer shell for insulation, and a plastic (read: Will. Not. Break.) removable inner bowl that makes it so easy to prep food.

Sure, it might be a little big for anyone who just carries a cross-body or clutch on their daily commute, but it’ll fit great in a canvas tote or large shopper. And you’ll feel better squeezing it between your laptop and wallet knowing that bringing your lunch to work is more environmentally-friendly than buying food from the cafeteria or your favorite take-out spot.

And, since we’re coming up to the holidays and you’re probably already panicking about gifting, it’s also an unexpected under-$50 option that anyone on your shopping list will enjoy: your work wife, your teenage nephew, even your best friend who’s made the same New Year’s resolution for the past three years to get more into meal prepping.
