Bella Hadid Cut Her Own Bangs While in Quarantine, and They Look Great

Bella Hadid just did something you’ve no-doubt been contemplating while stuck in quarantine: cut her own bangs.

The supermodel took to Instagram Stories on Monday night, April 20 to unveil the new look, and no surprise, it’s great. Bella opted to give herself just some partial bangs, and when swooped to the side, they look totally chic.

It’s unclear what scissors she used for this cut or how, exactly, she went about doing it, but the end result is fire. Here’s hoping this cured at least a few hours of her self-isolation boredom. God knows I’ve killed a few hours just thinking about cutting my own bangs.

But I’ve yet to take the plunge, as Bella Hadid has. This is par for the course for the 23-year-old, who just last week experimented with gray hair. Of course, that turned out to be a filter which made Bella’s look gray; she didn’t actually dye it.

Not that she’s opposed to that, though. Bella loves a good hair transformation. Remember when she went bright blond last summer and looked just like her older sister, Gigi?

Early in her career, Bella dispelled rumors she dyed her hair brown for the sole purpose of distinguishing herself from Gigi. “Well, I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi,” she told Glamour in August 2016. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!” (The two sisters are best friends and close in age; Gigi is 24 years old.)

Maybe Bella will go back to blond while in self-isolation. If her recent updates are any indication, we may be in for several more beauty transformations before quarantine is over. Hooray for more things for me to live vicariously through!

Selena Gomez Just Responded to Bella Hadid Deleting an Instagram She Commented On

After some time out of the public eye, Selena Gomez is definitely back in the spotlight with two new songs—that many think are about her ex, Justin Bieber—and a renewed social media presence.

Now, whether she intended to or not, the pop star finds herself in the middle of a possible internet drama with supermodel Bella Hadid. As with so many things online, there’s a lot of speculation going on here, but let’s see if we can break this down for anyone who doesn’t follow these two closely.

This drama seems to be rooted in the 2017 tabloid love triangle that happened between Hadid, The Weekend, and Gomez. For context, Hadid and The Weeknd have been dating on and off since 2015. But when they were apart in January 2017, he started seeing Gomez, at which time Hadid unfollowed Gomez on Instagram. Then, Gomez and The Weeknd unfollowed Hadid. Last year, Hadid and The Weeknd got back together before breaking up, yet again. At some point in between, Gomez re-followed Hadid on IG and, over the weekend, commented, “Stunning ?” on one of her posts.

Then, without explanation, Hadid deleted the entire post. While many online surmised this was because of Gomez’s comment, there’s no way to know Hadid’s true intention. Whatever the case, Gomez is bummed about the move. A fan account, @selssbrina, published a post about the situation and mentioned that Hadid had deleted the post Gomez commented on. The “Look at Her Now” singer saw said fan post and left a simple but telling reply: “That sucks ?.”

But don’t take this as a sign that Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid are feuding. Like we said, Hadid could’ve deleted her post for a number of reasons. And while Gomez’s reply to the fan account implies she’s hurt, we don’t know anything for sure. SelGo has made it clear in the past, though, that she has no time for petty fodder like this. When fans tried to pit her and Hailey Bieber against each other following the release of her song “Love You to Lose Me” (which is probably about Justin), she shut it down.

“I am so grateful for the response of the song,” she said on Instagram Stories. “However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down. So please be kind to everyone. Please be kind, I don’t like seeing people being disrespectful or rude to other people, so please don’t do that.”

Bella Hadid Says Victoria's Secret Never Made Her Feel ‘Powerful’

It’s not all that rare to see Bella Hadid, one of the highest paid models of her generation, in lingerie. But at the Vogue Fashion Festival in Paris on Friday, she admitted that she never felt comfortable until walking in Rihanna’s epic Savage x Fenty show this September. “That was the first time on a runway that I felt really sexy. Because when I first did Fenty, I was doing other lingerie shows and I never felt powerful on a runway, like, in my underwear,” she said per WWD.

Hadid, who has walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret three times, shared that she’s struggled with mental health issues for years. “For a while I just didn’t want to talk about it, and I’ve gone through a lot in the past few years with my health,” she said. “I feel guilty for being able to live this incredible life, have the opportunities that I do, but somehow still be depressed. It doesn’t make sense.”

Her point is powerful and important: Mental health issues like depression and anxiety don’t discriminate. Success doesn’t make you immune.

“I would cry every single morning, I would cry during my lunch breaks, I would cry before I slept. I was very emotionally unstable for a while when I was working 14-hour days for four months straight as an 18-year-old,” she said. “I think I just wanted to breathe a little bit. And so it kind of put me in a spiral.”

Last month, in honor of World Mental Health Day, Hadid alluded to struggling with her mental health to her followers on Instagram. “Being kind and protective to yourself and your energy is something I’ve learned to be helpful. When the world feels like it is collapsing around you, you are allowed to ask for help,” she wrote. “You do not have to deal w/ your mental state alone.”

At the panel on Friday, the 23-year-old model shared that she’s in a better place—and that she wants to help destigmatize mental health issues. “I feel like I would be doing a disservice to myself if I didn’t speak about something such as mental health, because that’s pretty much what I’ve been going through for the past five years very intensely,” she said. “Now we’re here and we’re good, but it took a while.”

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd Aren't Getting Back Together After All

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd’s on-again, off-again relationship had been settled in the off category for over two months. Then on Friday, E! News reported that Hadid and The Weeknd (née Abel Tesfaye) were back together because The Weeknd joined Hadid’s family and friends in New York City to celebrate her 23rd birthday. That’s proof they’ve reconciled, right?

Wrong. The former couple may have been seen sharing tequila shots and talking at the bar, but there wasn’t much going on beneath the surface. Before speculation about a reconciliation could pick up steam, The Weeknd’s rep set the record straight. The two did hang out on Hadid’s birthday, but they’re not dating. “They just attended as friends,” The Weeknd’s rep told People.

The Weeknd also chimed in to squash rumors that he and the supermodel were dating with a few veiled posts on his Instagram, People adds. “Imagine obsessing over someone’s relationship that u don’t know sh*t about,” he captioned one post.

Hadid’s birthday celebration had more going on than a speculation-spawning reunion with her former boyfriend. She rang in 23 surrounded by siblings Gigi and Anwar Hadid, plus celebrity friends like Lily Rose Depp and Dua Lipa. Hadid shared a few shots from the party on her Instagram, posing with a white rose and hugging Depp.

Hadid and The Weeknd reportedly started dating for a second time after reconnecting at Coachella in 2018. Fans of the couple looked on as they shared matching outfits and Instagram stories until they broke up in August. “They are in different places right now, physically and mentally,” a source shared with E! News following the late-summer split.

Bella Hadid Just Chopped Her Hair Into the Perfect Bob for Fall

Bella Hadid has been playing chameleon with her hair all summer. First, she surprised fans by going just a bit brighter, and then she went full blond with a hair change that looked wildly similar to that of her sister Gigi’s. Now, she’s had yet another transformation: She’s chopped off several inches of her hair and is currently sporting a very chic blond bob that actually resembles a cut she’s had as a brunette.

Hadid definitely likes changing things up, but we’d gotten used to seeing her with dark hair. It was an easy way to tell her apart from Gigi (who is basically her twin now), and it was a color she said she’s had since she was really young. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid,” she told Glamour in 2016. “I might want to go blond eventually!”

Looks like she was onto something.

She first revealed her sharply angled bob at London Fashion Week while walking in Burberry’s spring 2020 show. The cut is blunt and hits just at the chin, which according to Hadid’s Instagram, was “dreamt up by Riccy” (meaning, Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci) and chopped by the show’s lead hairstylist Sandy Hullett. For the show, Hullett kept the style simple with a straight-down-the-middle part and pin-straight blowout.

Bella Hadid’s Hair Is Even Blonder Than Gigi’s Now

Bella Hadid has been playing with a lot of hairstyles lately. She’s said before that she’s a natural blond, but she’s been dyeing her hair brown for years, and it’s always been an easy way to tell her apart from her older sister, Gigi Hadid. However, she recently shared a snap of herself with golden locks that seem to be closer to her natural color. And now it looks like she’s going even lighter.

The model was photographed out and about in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 13, and even though her hair was under a baseball cap, wisps of how blond it is were still visible to fans.

Take a look at the new color for yourself, below. She’s now even blonder than Gigi.

Here’s how blond she was on Friday, August 9, just for comparison:

Bella has been married to the dark look for years now, so it might be time for something new. She revealed to Glamour in 2016 that she started dyeing her hair at 14 years old and wouldn’t rule out going blond again.

“I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi,” she said. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!”
