This Cute Wearable Vibrator Is Great for BDSM Beginners

The most difficult part of adding a clitoral vibrator to penetrative sex is the positioning. Sure, the addition of a sex toy is dope and can make it easier to orgasm, but you lose a hand. That’s like running an obstacle course with your shoelaces tied! So I was excited when I heard about the Desire Luxury Butterfly Hands-Free Vibrator, ($100 from Lovehoney), which aims to solve this problem by attaching a cute purple, vibrating butterfly to a sexy black harness you can wear while boning. And after trying it, I can say that Lovehoney succeeded in creating an awesome product—just not in the way they necessarily intended.

Here’s the bad news first: The adjustable harness is indeed sexy, but it doesn’t really stay in place. I loved how mine looked, but the butterfly-shaped vibrator hovered about half an inch away from my clitoris no matter how tight I adjusted the straps. It’s not like a latex bodysuit that sticks to your body as a second skin. Even with those black straps, additional pressure is required to hit the right spot.

Here’s how the vibe fits over your waist.

I wore it with my partner while on my tummy (the easiest position to use a vibrator during penetrative sex, IMO) and still needed to take my right hand and push the butterfly against me. So no matter how hot it is, don’t expect the harness to make your added-stimulation sex “hands-free.” Even when I was on top, the butterfly didn’t fly close enough to my clit to vibrate me to instant-orgasm. Added pressure was still necessary.

Now for the good news! If you’re using this with a partner, the hands-free feature is great if you want to put them in charge. The butterfly has a remote control which allows it to move in eight different vibration patterns at 12 different speeds (like a massage chair you’d sit in while getting a pedicure). Relax with the harness on and use your hand to push the vibrator closer to your body if you need to, but give your partner the remote. Do you like the rolling hill sensation? Sorry! Time to change the channel to rapid-fire pulsations. Are you getting close to coming? Bam! Throw in some orgasm denial and slow that thing down.

By the way, “orgasm denial” is a part of dominant and submissive play and is exactly what it sounds like. When done to penises, it’s usually referred to as “edging,” but the cruel build-up is hot for people with vaginas, too. After some solid rounds of orgasm denial, when you finally do orgasm, it can be out of this world.

Unfortunately, you can only turn the butterfly on and off by pressing a button on the vibrator itself; the remote just changes speeds and vibrations. (Unless I was totally using it wrong, but I couldn’t find an on/off button on the remove for the life of me). The famed couples toy line made by We-Vibe also allows your partner to control the vibrator as you wear it, and in a far more advanced manner. With We-Vibe, you can set the vibrators to the beat of your favorite song with their We-Connect app (and you can control it from anywhere in the world). Consider the butterfly a slightly less technological method of doing the same thing. Old school, baby!

Cute!

In the end, I ripped the harness off my body and just held the butterfly against my clit like any old vibrator. I orgasmed, but I think I could have done that with my hand or a clitoral vibrator for a quarter of the price tag. Invest in this sex toy if you really like grinding against legs, love orgasm denial, or can just afford to collect all the sex toys in the world. If you’re just looking to increase orgasms, you might want to stick with a classic clitoral vibrator.

You can get the Lovehoney Desire Luxury Butterfly Hands-Free Vibrator for $100 here.

How to Make Sex Great If Your Partner's Penis Is Too Big

Dear Emily,

I recently started seeing a guy, and although his penis is magnificent and huge, it’s an even huger problem. I’m a petite woman, and so far sex with him has been very painful. I’ve managed to get through it multiple times, but I’m always incredibly sore afterward.

Is there anything I can do to lessen the pain, or is the fact his penis is too big something I’ll have to get used to?

Thanks,
Penelope, 22

Dear Penelope,

Sex is not something you want to just get through—you want to enjoy it as much as possible! Although men are usually worried about their penis being too small, more women actually inquire about how to enjoy a larger-than-average member. Thankfully, there are ways to maneuver around any penis size for a pleasurable experience, not a painful one.

Communicate

This guy doesn’t want to hurt you; he wants you to feel good during sex. Let him know that sex has been painful because he’s just so big. That way, you can work together on making things more enjoyable for the both of you (and it’ll stroke his ego a bit, too).

Prepare With Foreplay

If you already engage in foreplay before you have sex, double up on it. The more time that is spent on you and your pleasure, the more aroused you’ll be, and the more your body will be ready to brave his beautiful penis. Even if wetness isn’t your issue, adding extra lubrication to the action for more comfort never hurts.

Assume the Position

The name of your game here is shallow thrusting positions. These will prevent him from hitting your cervix, which may be what’s causing you pain. The closer your legs are to each other, the less likely he’ll go too deep, making the Coital Alignment Technique (or CAT) position an excellent choice if you’re keen on missionary. Woman-on-top is also a great position because it puts you in control of how far he enters you, how you move, and at what speed.

Sex is supposed to be fun and pleasurable for all people involved, so you should never have to brace yourself to just “take it.” Speak up, spend more time on foreplay, and work those positions. You’ll be ready to take on that magnificent member in no time.

xx,
Emily

Mila Kunis' New Lob Is Exactly As Great As You'd Expect

For one half of a long-running celebrity relationship, Mila Kunis plays it super low-key (semi-unrelated, but RIP, Fergie and Josh Duhamel; Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen; Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. We must cherish the celebrity couples we still have). It’s not incredibly surprising, given how low-maintenance she seems in interviews and most of her roles, but that means her big beauty moments are few and far between. You can usually count on the Bad Moms actress for an excellent bronzy eye, but a big chop isn’t often. So you can safely assume that when we saw Kunis’s new haircut on Instagram, she had our attention completely.

Per hairstylist Renato Campora’s Instagram, Kunis has joined the ranks of celebrities wearing a collarbone-sweeping lob. As we can all see, she looks like a beautiful soft-focus painting.

It’s tough to tell in the Insta shot, but a little digging confirms what we suspected: with Kunis’ snip, we’ve got another blunt cut before us. She first wore the cut out to a Jim Beam launch party, because if anyone’s the authentic incarnation of Gone Girl‘s “cool girl” monologue, it’s Mila Kunis (she’s also a spokesperson for the brand). And in the most impressive cool girl feat of all, she makes it likable.

After staring at this cut for no less than an hour, I realized where I’ve seen it before. It’s a shorter, blunter sibling to the most popular cut on Pinterest, and because it’s unlikely that Kunis is spending hours scouting Pinterest, she (or Campora) came up with this universally beloved cut on their own. Finding your own way to a crowdsourced fave, and/or working with a hairstylist tapped into trends: both valuable skills.
