Sarah Hyland Just Gave Wells Adams a Buzzcut, and It Actually Looks Great


If there’s one thing Sarah Hyland and fiancé Wells Adams have going for them, it’s trust.

Like Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson before them, Adams put the fate of his hair in the Modern Family star’s hands by asking her to shave his head. Don’t worry, though: They made sure to document the entire experience on April 7 via Instagram Stories.

“This has gotten to be too much,” the Bachelor in Paradise bartender said of his curls before asking Hyland how many times she’s cut a man’s hair. Her response, dear reader, is zero times. The suspense is killing you, I’m sure.

Here goes nothin’! Hyland went in on the side of Adams’s head with clippers, shortened for your viewing pleasure in a hyperlapse video. Unlike Cyrus, Hyland didn’t take off all her man’s hair, and she didn’t have any outside help. Oh, and Hyland didn’t follow up by cutting her own hair to match the infamous mullet of Tiger King’s Joe Exotic. (Yeah, check out Cyrus’s new look, here.)

The results? Pretty great for a first-timer. “She did a pretty good job,” Adams said with a smile.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are a pretty adorable couple. The pair first met after Hyland tweeted about her crush on the Bachelorette contestant back in 2016, and they continued to flirt back and forth.

According to Hyland’s recent interview with Cosmopolitan, they went on about two dates before he made his first grand, Bachelor Nation–worthy gesture. After Hyland underwent her second kidney transplant in September 2017, Adams flew from Nashville to L.A. on the weekends to spend time with her during her recovery. Yes, he met the parents almost immediately.

Still, Hyland was the one who made the first move towards DTR. “I asked him when he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend,” she said in the interview. “I’m impatient.” The rest is history, and Adams proposed on a beach (of course it was a beach) in July 2019.

Saying Goodbye to ‘Schitt’s Creek’ With Annie Murphy and Sarah Levy Is Shockingly Cathartic


Murphy: I was like a brick that sweat just a tiny little bit out of its eyes from time to time. Sarah was a brick that had been dumped in the ocean and had taken on all of the water and had been wrung out at the table read. You were an adorable, sweet, sentimental mess. And I was inside. It was all there. I was just holding it in to piss Dan off.

Levy: That’s really what he wanted, for us to all cry—

Murphy: Crumble like him.

Levy: —which I gave into.

Murphy: I think that the scene where we find out that Twyla has been sitting on bazillions of dollars for all of these years is so triumphant and made me fall in love with Twyla even more.

Let’s be honest, Twyla has helped Alexis much more than Alexis has helped Twyla. They’ve become such dear friends, and I genuinely think that Twyla is Alexis’s best friend. So I think that the way they got to say goodbye to each other was written so beautifully, was so perfect for both characters. That was a really weepy day.

Levy: Alexis has always seemingly had more power over Twyla because she was just this sweet girl in a cafe, but at the very end you really see this nice equality between the two of them. Both of them acknowledge what they’ve brought to each other’s lives and the relationship they want to have moving forward.

Sarah, during the episode Twyla had the line: “Being here, getting to hear your stories over the past few years, even the scary ones, that made me smile.” How has it been watching your brother and father create this series? Is it like that?

Levy: It has been extremely emotional. It’s not only a journey that I’ve been on and we’ve been on as a cast, coming together and getting to know one another so well, but having seen this from beginning to end…. I remember when Daniel was coming over to my parents’ house and they were writing the pilot presentation, when it was just the idea. To see it go from that to this, seemingly in the blink of an eye—so much has happened, but it feels like it all happened so fast.

Saying goodbye to that after this year is going to be hell. I’ve been feeling it even now, not being able to see my dad and my brother on a regular basis has been weird. I’m just so used to seeing them. It’s been a very strange experience, unlike anything I’ve ever had.

Okay, time to get serious. How much money did Alexis turn down from Twyla?

Levy: [Laughs.] You tell it! I’m going to fuck it up. I think the check that I was given to give Alexis was…what was it? Like…was it, like, 50?

Murphy: I was going to say $25,000.

Levy: I think it was like $50,000. I was like, “$50,000? This girl has won like millions and millions of dollars!”

Murphy: When we got to set and Sarah was given the prop, she actually took it, looked at it, and was like, “What the fuck? This is bullshit.” She was so aggressively angry about the amount that Twyla chose to give away.

Levy: It just defeated the whole purpose of the generous gift!

The doctors told us IVF was the next step. And it was our saving grace. We put the truck up for collateral and took out a loan at the bank to pay for our dreams. It worked on the first try. I can’t even describe what it was like when we saw that heartbeat on the ultrasound at six weeks. It was miraculous.

Danger to the mother never crossed my mind. Because, hell, pregnancy can be risky. I wanted a child, and I would survive whatever test came my way to protect that baby—just as all mothers have done throughout the millennia. I did have a relative question our decision due to religious beliefs. All this did was make me dig in my heels: ‘Ok, then join me in praying to God that this works.’ Because this will be a wanted child, a cherished child, a prized child. A child of God.”

But it is important to remember that for some women the motivation to become a surrogate is deeply rooted in a desire to help other people create a family. This changes the perspective from a surrogate being a victim to her being a strong woman who is bringing something into this world that is deeply beautiful and meaningful. Our three girls have enriched all of us with so much love.”

Sarah Hyland Shares Inspiring Message for 'Fellow Invisible Illness Warriors'


Sarah Hyland has never been shy about sharing health updates with the world. In 2017, the Modern Family star revealed to fans that she had to undergo a kidney transplant as she was born with kidney dysplasia, a chronic health condition caused when the kidneys fail to develop fully in the womb. However, the actress is now sharing another part of her wellness journey: her fight against insecurity.

“To my fellow #invisibleillness warriors. It’s ok to be insecure about your body,” Hyland shared in a new Instagram post alongside a paparazzi shot of her leaving the gym. “Just remember to check in with yourself at least once a day and say thank you. Our bodies have endured unfathomable feats that our minds barely have time to comprehend what has actually happened.”

Hyland went on to explain, “With inflammation, excess water gain, and medications, my skin has a hard time bouncing back. I saw this picture and HATED it but quickly readjusted my attitude and decided to celebrate it. Love yourself and be patient. We are all stronger than we think we are.”

Just a few months ago, Hyland shared another snap to the social media platform in an effort to openly discuss her body issues. In the older post, Hyland wrote in part, “And a final thank you to my ever-changing self-confidence for making the decision to not wear Spanx and let my KUPA (kidney upper pussy area) shine like the badass bitch she is.”

Indeed, the term KUPA has become a favorite one of both Hyland and her fans. In the comments of her most recent post, one follower wrote, “Thank you for reminding me this. Also thank you for making up the term KUPA (Kidney Upper Pussy Area) I will now always refer to my lower right abdomen as that.” Another added, “Yes! Real bodies that battle everyday are beautiful. Love that you posted this.”

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams’s Wedding: Everything We Know So Far


Back in July, Sarah Hyland announced that Bachelorette star Wells Adams, her boyfriend of two years, proposed during a romantic beach vacation. The happy couple shared tons of photos on Instagram that showed exactly how their sweet engagement went down.”That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff,” Hyland captioned a photo that shows Adams kneeling next to her.

Since then, the couple has started planning the wedding slowly but surely. They’ve both talked a bit about what the planning process has been like, and some of the details about the big day are finally starting to emerge. Here’s everything we know so far about their upcoming nuptials:

The date: So there’s no official marker on the calendar yet, but originally Adams said on the Your Favorite Thing podcast with Brandi Cyrus that they wanted to take their time. He‘s said that it’ll definitely be a lengthy, traditional wedding planning process. “It will be, like, well over a year. I mean, we haven’t figured out anything, you know?” he said shortly after the proposal. “Phase 1 was just, like, get engaged. We’re still in Phase 1.”

Still, it does seem like Hyland is at least starting to look at Pinterest boards, so there’s definitely some movement on Phase 2. Recently she said in an Instagram Story, “While Wells goes and does the rehearsal part of this wedding that we’re at…I’m totally not lying in bed stalking wedding and bridal Instagram accounts while watching Say Yes to the Dress.” Adams guessed as much during an interview with ET. “Sarah is going to be, like, Pinterest boards and vision boards, and a lot of Elmer’s glue is going to be involved,” he said. “So I think we’re just holding off on that.”

The rings: No word yet on the bands, but we can glean a few ideas from Hyland’s engagement ring. Adams proposed to her with a massive oval diamond ring made by Lorraine Schwartz, but Hyland has been pretty honest about the fact that she knew what she wanted from the beginning. Back in 2018 she told ET that she’d been browsing rings: “Um, I’m a 27-year-old woman, of course I have,” she said, adding, “He knows what it is, so it’s fine.”

The bridal party: Hyland has a lot of close Hollywood buds, but she’s found a bridesmaid in her longtime friend Vanessa Hudgens. In an Instagram Story (there are a few screenshots here), Hudgens shared that Hyland asked her to be a part of her wedding party. She also did it in a really cute way: The screenshots show that Hyland sent Hudgens a bridal box wrapped in lots of white ribbon. She took a photo of the box and added a bridesmaid graphic.

Carrie Bradshaw Would Absolutely Drink Sarah Jessica Parker's New Wine


Sarah Jessica Parker and her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, may seem similar, but the actress has said for years they’re really nothing alike. Not even their drink of choice is the same. Carrie, as fans know, was fond of the cosmopolitan but Parker prefers wine—so much so that she just launched her own sauvignon blanc with New Zealand winery Invivo, called “Invivo X, SJP.”

Adding another project to her resume is all in a day’s work for Parker, who most recently starred in and executive produced the HBO series Divorce, has a booming shoe business, and now can call herself a sommelier in the making. Below, we chat with the Emmy winner about her wine, her work, and whether Carrie might ever swap out her signature cocktail for a crisp glass of white.

Glamour: What initially made you want to get into the wine game?

Sarah Jessica Parker: I’d been contacted by Invivo well over a year ago, and I was sort of surprised by the inquiry because I had not ever pondered or fantasized about producing a sauvignon blanc, let alone any wine. And though it seemed far-fetched that I might be able to do it or contribute anything, I spent a lot of time talking to them and learning about their business. After many conversations, I decided I thought it would be a very interesting experience and a privileged opportunity to learn about a business that, beyond being a consumer, I was completely unfamiliar with.

What did you want your sauvignon blanc to taste like as you were making it?

SJP: I think I wanted to pay a nice amount of attention to the conventional idea of what a sauvignon blanc is. People are very serious about their wines, and particularly I think sauvignon blanc drinkers are very specific. So I wanted to apply some of those rules, but I also wanted to distinguish it in some way. And we got there. We got there in ways that I might never have imagined. It was just a wonderful process of blending and splitting that atom and getting it to where we really were excited about it, and that it felt uniquely different in the market, but still could be called, with authority, a sauvignon blanc.
