Meghan Markle Brought Back Her Wedding Hair For Her First Trip to Sussex

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived in the English county of Sussex on Wednesday, all was right in the world: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were, appropriately, in Sussex. Markle and Prince Harry were back on their joint royal outing grind, and Markle’s hair had made its triumphant return to her now-famous low, slightly undone bun. This is the first time we’ve seen the bun in a while, since she’s taken to wearing her hair down and either pin-straight or in beachy waves for recent appearances.

In fact, the duchess’s hairstyle on Wednesday was almost exactly the same as the look she wore to her wedding in May—so perhaps it was paying homage to the day she received her Sussex title. The bun was low and securely pinned to the nape of her neck, her hair was parted right down the middle, and a few face-framing tendrils were loosely curled and left free to add movement and soften the look.

It makes sense that Markle would repeat this style time and time (and time) again, since, as her wedding hairstylist Serge Normant explained to Glamour, it only takes about 45 minutes to create—less if the day isn’t as important as, you know, your literal wedding day—and perfectly captures Markle’s effortless glam and easygoing vibe. “We wanted something that would have an easy feel to it,” Normant said. “We both knew we wanted to do something very loose in the back and soft in the front…I know everyone’s fixating on the word ‘messy,’ but it was more like unstructured volume. A low bun in the back with dimension.”

The rest of her look for the appearance was similarly attainable and down-to-earth. Her green silk shirt, for example, is less than $100 from & Other Stories.

Markle and Prince Harry are in Sussex just for the day. So far, per social media updates from Kensington Palace, they’ve received an extremely warm welcome from the locals, visited one of just two existing authentic copies of the Declaration of Independence, and headed on to the University of Chichester. Next up, they’ll travel to East Sussex, where they’ll visit the Royal Pavilion, the Survivors Network of Britain, and the Peacehaven Youth Centre.

Reese Witherspoon Is Going On a Cross-Country Road Trip and You're Invited

If we were calling the shots, all of Reese Witherspoon’s spare time would be spent making Legally Blond 3 happen. But Reese is taking a break from being an actress, producer, entrepreneur, and Kate Middleton fangirl this fall to give women across the country a much-needed morale boost.

Reese (a 2015 Glamour Women of the Year) and her multimedia company, Hello Sunshine, have partnered with Together Live to bring a cross-country all-female storytelling tour to 10 cities across North America this November. At each stop, Reese will be part of the two-hour storytelling conversation meant to forge connections between women from Boston to Austin and in smaller-market cities in between. And she’ll be joined on stage by a different group of celebrity friends at each stop along the way.

The current roster of talent includes Abby Wambach—part of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team named 2015 Glamour Women of the Year—Yara Shahidi, Brené Brown, Cheryl Strayed, Cleo Wade, model Jillian Mercado, comedian Cameron Esposito, author/activist Glennon Doyle, comedian Maysoon Zayid, Saturday Night Live actress Melissa Villasenor, comedian Nicole Byer, singer-songwriter MILCK (Connie Lim), and Olympic athlete (and Barbie muse) Ibtihaj Muhammad.

Also along for the ride: Glamour. We have exclusive editorial access to all 10 events, and will be there live for four stops on the tour. Follow along in our Insta Stories and on glamour.com. Or, join us in person! I’ll be snacking at the craft services table at select stops. Here’s where and when to find everyone else: Boston (November 3); Philadelphia (November 4); D.C. (November 5); Toronto (November 6); Cincinnati (November 9); Ann Arbor, Michigan (November 11); Chicago (November 12), Minneapolis (November 13); Fayetteville, Arkansas (November 16); and Austin (November 19).

Ahead of the party that starts November 3, Abby, Connie, Maysoon, and model/trans activist Geena Rocero —who’ll all take the stage at Hello Sunshine x Together Live —joined entertainment and media exec Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, who’ll emcee the events, for a conversation about women’s struggle to find their voices. Connie, the songwriter behind the Women’s March anthem “Quiet,” spoke about not feeling heard both as a minority, and as an artist in a family of doctors who questioned her career path. “We were all supposed to be doctors or lawyers,” said Jennifer. “Instead, we’re warriors.” (TRUTH.)

Click your way over to Together Live to see which celebs are appearing in each city, and to get tickets, which start at $25 and are on sale now.

Meghan Markle's Mom Flew to London for a Quick Trip, and No One Knew About It

The world has watched Meghan Markle very closely since she and Prince Harry got together; she can hardly sneeze (or even trip) without making headlines. But by some sort of sorcery, her mom, Doria Ragland, recently made a secret trip to London to visit her daughter, and literally no one noticed.

In a new interview with Good Morning America, royal expert Omid Scobie revealed that Ragland spent some time in the U.K. over the summer. “ICYMI: Sources confirm to @ABC @GMA that Duchess Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland visited Prince Harry and her daughter for an extended stay at their Oxfordshire home this summer,” he wrote in a tweet. “Doria is said to enjoy a close relationship with Harry and continues to be a pillar of strength for Meghan.”

This under-the-radar trip may have been a chance for Ragland to prepare for a move. Earlier this summer, rumors began to fly that she was considering moving to London to be closer to her daughter and new son-in-law. “She fell in love with England and told me when she got back that it’s somewhere she believes she too could happily live,” a source told the Sunday Express in early August*.* “I think this has been coming for a while. Even before the wedding she told me how she misses her Megs so much she would do anything to be closer to her, especially now Meghan will be starting a family of her own.”

The source said the move could happen as early as “next month” (meaning September), though considering how skilled Ragland seems to be at dodging the paparazzi, it may have already happened and the world is none-the-wiser.

Ariana Grande's First Trip to the U.K. Since Her Manchester Benefit Has Been Emotional

It’s been an emotional week for Ariana Grande, who returned to the U.K. for the first time since the benefit concert she held last summer in the wake of the Manchester terrorist attack at her May 2017 concert. According to People, Grande was in London to perform at KOKO for Capital FM’s Up Close series, and if her tweets are any indication, the trip hasn’t exactly been easy.

After a fan asked via Twitter why she hasn’t been her usual active self on social media, Grande responded, “Sry i’m really really anxious and really exhausted and jus trying to get thru the trip. hope that’s ok. hope you enjoy the performances. my priority is giving u the best performances i’m capable of.”

Grande has been very candid about the emotional struggles she’s endured since the attack, and her tweets this week suggest she’s still going through it. “I’m like really trying,” the singer added. “It’s jus been a while since i’ve done this or been this far away from home. this was a huge test. so far not so great hehe. but i’ve loved singing for u and seeing ur faces. that part has been nice. thanks for understanding n for loving me.”

In typical Grande fashion, she also thanked her fans for being the “kindest human beings on the planet,” and for being “so gentle n loving w me n always valuing my ‘human’ life as well as my professional one tbh.”

In July, Grande described having dizzy spells when she returned home from her last tour. “I would be in a good mood, fine and happy, and they would hit me out of nowhere,” she told Elle. “I’ve always had anxiety, but it had never been physical before. There were a couple of months straight where I felt so upside down.”

Prince Harry Skipped a Royal Hunting Trip Because of His Love for Meghan Markle

As if breaking into songs from Hamilton and saving Meghan Markle from bad falls weren’t adorable enough, Prince Harry just took his devotion to the Duchess to a royal level: Apparently, he’s totally fine shrugging off ancient royal traditions for her.

According to reports,, the Royal Family was out and about in Scotland for a family vacation last weekend. This sounds fairly casual until it turns out they were actually hanging out at their private, 50,000-acre estate at the Balmoral Castle, which has been in the family since 1852 and is where they frequently participate in a traditional royal grouse hunt. Although Prince Harry has joined in during past years, he opted out of this year’s hunt, and many think it may have because he didn’t want to upset his animal-loving wife.

There’s been rumors that Prince Harry has avoided hunting before to keep his lady happy. The Sun reported that he had passed on the royal family’s Boxing Day grouse hunt last year, with a royal source quoted saying that the shoot “was always going to be a tricky issue. Meghan is a keen animal rights campaigner and doesn’t like hunting in any form. Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting her, so be it. It’s fair to say that there are some pretty stunned faces around here.”

Markle’s love for animals is, after all, well documented: She’s spoken at length about her rescue pups, which she got before she met Prince Harry, and now the couple even has a lab of their own. She’s also raved about vegan leather and is rumored to be anti-fur.

Although Prince Harry may have been swayed by Markle, it seems as though Prince George was not: The junior royal, 5, was photographed participating in the grouse hunt for the first time.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's First Big Trip Abroad Sounds So Fun

Newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will travel to Dublin next month, their first international trip together since their honeymoon. Kensington Palace confirmed on Tuesday (June 19) that the trip will take place on July 10 and 11 and that “this visit is at the request of Her Majesty’s Government.” Vanity Fair is reporting this trip will serve as a “mini-moon” of sorts for the couple.

“The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to learning more about Ireland’s history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country’s future,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “Full details of the visit will be announced in due course.”

Even though Markle has only just joined the royal family officially, she’s no stranger to Ireland. The Duchess of Sussex visited Northern Ireland with Prince Harry recently with a trip to Belfast as a part of the couple’s tour of the U.K. in advance of their May 19 wedding. She also visited the country before Kensington Palace was even a part of her life: According to People, Markle traveled to Dublin to accept an award from Trinity College in 2013 and was even spotted expertly pouring a pint of Guinness on that trip.

Details of their visit have not yet been announced, but a trip to the Guinness Storehouse, which details the brewing process and history of Dublin’s most notorious beverage, is on the table, People reports.

Markle and Prince Harry will also travel to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand later this year in their first royal tour as a married couple. Markle will also be joining her husband at the Invictus Games in Sydney, which take place from October 20 through 27, and the tour will likely take place near those dates. The 2018 Games will mark the fifth year of Prince Harry’s competitive sporting event for wounded veterans, but the first year he’ll be traveling to the event as a married man.
