Whipped Strawberry Milk Is Instagram's New Obsession—and It's Even Easier Than Dalgona Coffee

Forget whipped coffee, whipped strawberry milk is the latest beverage to take the internet by storm.

As most people continue to practice social distancing amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many have turned to cooking, baking lots of banana bread, and whipping up just about any pretty treat that will impress their TikTok followers.

For a few weeks, dalgona coffee was everywhere. It’s a simple drink made from a blend of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water whipped into a cloud-like froth and served over ice and milk. Not to mention, it’s fun to make. Even Lizzo tried (and failed) to make it during her own quarantine.

Now, there’s a new—and very pink—option for those looking for a caffeine-free alternative. The best part? It’s even easier to make. According to one recipe shared by food influencer Valentina Mussi (@sweetportfolio), all you need is two ingredients: 1tbsp of strawberry Nesquik and 4tbsp (1/4 cup) of heavy whipping cream.

Similar to whipped coffee, this colorful version requires lots of mixing and whipping with either an electric mixer or a mixture by hand. Once it’s fluffy, fill your glass with ice and milk before topping it with a few spoonfuls of the cream.

“Mix it until your arm is numb and serve over cold or hot milk,” Mussi explains. If you’re feeling fancy, you can even dust the rim of your glass with powder and add a fresh strawberry on top. Sounds like the perfect drink to pair with your latest batch perfect chocolate chip cookies…Just saying.

If you’re not into strawberry, Mussi also shared recipes for cocoa and Nutella-whipped drinks. Just whisk together 1/2 teaspoon cocoa (or a spoonful of Nutella), 1 teaspoon sugar, and 3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream to create your very own—and much more Instagrammable—Starbucks Frappuccino.

People all over Instagram are obviously obsessed with the pink drink.

William Shakespeare may have written King Lear during the plague, but we’re revolutionizing milk. Honestly, I love this journey for us.

Kylie Jenner Put Milk in Her Cereal for the First Time Ever and Immediately Got Roasted on Twitter

In her 21 years on this earth, Kylie Jenner has starred on a reality TV show, started a nearly billion-dollar company, and welcomed a daughter. Until this week, however, one major thing she hadn’t done was put milk in a bowl of cereal. If you’re shocked, flabbergasted, and/or appalled, you’re not alone: Twitter users shared all those reactions and more after Jenner announced on Tuesday (September 18) evening that she’d tried the iconic duo for the first time ever the previous night.

The saga began with a simple tweet. “Last night i had cereal with milk for the first time. life changing,” she wrote, then explained in a quick follow-up, “i always liked cereal dry i never bothered to put milk.” The Twitterverse was instantly stunned but, of course, quickly gathered its thoughts and began bombarding Jenner with questions. Type of cereal? “Cinnamon Toast Crunch. amazing,” she replied. Type of milk? “Regular,” Jenner answered. Order in which she poured the ingredients in her bowl? “Cereal first.” All correct answers; Jenner may be new to the wild world of milky cereal, but at least she got it absolutely perfect the first time around.

In the end, while Jenner revealed that she hasn’t given up on her beloved bone-dry cereal, she did admit “milk was cool.” And there you have it.

Besides all those probing questions, Twitter users also sent Jenner suggestions for the next basic food combos she should try, with Seth Rogen even jumping in to recommend a PB&J. Groundbreaking! Others pointed out that although Jenner previously pronounced 2016 the “year of, like, realizing stuff,” she seems to have upheld that old New Year’s resolution for three years running. Others were so baffled by Jenner’s admission that they searched for something, anything, to make sense of it, with a few landing on a complex conspiracy theory that connects older sister Kim Kardashian West‘s recent discovery of hit 2014 podcast Serial with Jenner’s recent breakfast discovery. Spooky stuff.

Moms Are Living For These Videos of Chrissy Teigen Saving Her Spilled Breast Milk

Back in December, Chrissy Teigen mused on Twitter about what she would grab if she needed to escape a fire in her home. At the time, all she could come up with were her daughter Luna, “some limited edition Oreos and my spike tv award.” As seen in another series of tweets this week, however, it seems that Teigen’s found another thing she’d go to any lengths to save: her breast milk. (And, you know, probably her newborn son Miles, too.)

On Wednesday, the model and cookbook author shared two videos in which she and a friend use a syringe, a turkey baster, and what looks like a shoehorn or some kind of spatula in a (mostly futile) attempt to salvage a small amount of breast milk that spilled out of her breast pump bottle and onto a table. “Spilled my breast milk, and this is how important it is in this house,” Teigen says in one of the videos. “I am so jealous of people with plentiful boobies,” she captioned one clip on Twitter, writing alongside the other, “EVERY DROP COUNTS IN THIS HOUSE.”

Since Teigen posted the silly but all-too-real clips online, many of her fellow moms have shared their own stories of doing whatever is necessary to save even the tiniest amount of spilled breast milk. Some, like Teigen, have turned to syringes to recover the milk, while several others wrote about soaking it up with paper towels and wringing them out into a bottle. The replies to Teigen’s tweets were a rare space of almost nothing but positive and supportive internet comments — all of which seemed to agree that it actually is OK to cry over spilled milk when it comes to that “liquid gold.”

This isn’t the first time since Teigen and husband John Legend welcomed Miles in May that moms everywhere have applauded Teigen for getting real about the struggles of breastfeeding. While he and his wife were heading to dinner in honor of Father’s Day the following month, Legend shared a photo of Teigen pumping in the backseat of a car, prompting countless responses from fans who were thrilled to see the stars getting real about the less glamorous parts of parenthood. Keep it up, you two!

The Ocean's 8 Cast Insisted They Stop Filming So Anne Hathaway Could Pump Her Breast Milk

Not only has Ocean’s 8 hit number one at the box office, but the behind-the-scenes stories that have come to light during the film’s press tour have made it number one in our hearts, especially the ones about the all-star cast having each other’s backs. The most recent tale of women supporting women on the set of the film comes from Anne Hathaway, who revealed that the cast demanded that they stop filming so that she could pump her breast milk.

In an interview on Today with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, new mom Hathaway, who appeared with fellow actresses Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, and Cate Blanchett, discussed the solid her costars did her when it came time to pump. “I was so happy because I was breastfeeding and I had that moment where I was like, ‘Oh, is this going to be a positive environment to be able to do that in?’ Everybody was fantastic and they understood,” she said. “I remember there was one moment where we were shooting a little long, and I just kind of went, ‘Uhhh,’ and the girls were like ‘What’s wrong?’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry, I should have pumped an hour ago.’ And the girls just, like, formed around me, and they were like, ‘We need a break. We need a break. Annie needs to go do this.’ And it was just, like, I mean, who gets that?”

Hathaway was quick to point out that everyone should get that kind of support, no matter where they work or who their coworkers are.

The women also said in the interview that they became each other’s resources for parenting and general life tips, like where to get Halloween costumes for their children (just don’t ask for Blanchett’s help—she hand-makes hers). And previously, Hathaway has said that Bullock, Blanchett, and Rihanna all made her feel more comfortable in her post-baby body when she showed up on set in a new pair of jeans and all three complimented her look. “Damn, girl! You got an ass!” Rihanna said, according to Hathaway.

Let’s hope there’s a sequel to Ocean’s 8 just so this group of women can hang out more. Watch the full interview, below.

Milk Makeup Kush Mascara Review: What Is CBD Oil Mascara?

Marijuana has been making the rounds lately, making a cameo in everything from weed tampons (which may alleviate cramps) to Cynthia Nixon‘s campaign for New York governor (she’s made marijuana legalization a cornerstone of her campaign). No small wonder, then, that you can now find the green stuff in Milk Makeup’s new Kush Mascara. The brand is known for pushing boundaries, as well as coming up with some seriously innovative formulas, like its “invisible foundation,” so this seems par for the course.

But before you call the Jeff Sessions I-Think-I-Smell-Weed hotline, know this: You’re not going to find a dime bag in this mascara. Instead, it’s infused with cannabidiol, or CBD, oil, a compound from the cannabis plant that’s becoming increasingly popular in the health, wellness, and, yes, beauty spaces. Not to be confused with THC—the cannabis compound that gives marijuana its psychotropic properties—CBD oil can purportedly ease muscle aches and help with insomnia, among other claims. Still, the research is limited, particularly when it comes to CBD oil’s skin care perks. Only a handful of studies have been conducted, and we’re currently in the honeymoon stage, meaning the risks haven’t really been tested or addressed.

Real beauty goes beyond the surface—and so do we. Sign up for Glamour’s newsletter to get honest reviews, personal essays, and more every day.

This hasn’t stopped the beauty world from embracing CBD oil—however, Milk is the first to use it in a mascara. The Kush Mascara formula thickens lashes with heart-shaped fibers, which create a sort of web over lashes for peak fullness and curling power, versus the usual, cylindrical tubes, which primarily add length (and can therefore result in spidery lashes). Here’s where the CBD comes in: Instead of using beeswax to adhere the fibers to lashes, the cannabidiol oil serves as its new, vegan alternative (since the brand recently went vegan). Plus, because it’s an oil, the CBD conditions lashes as you wear it and gives the formula a creamy texture, making it easier to apply.

I loved the brush off the bat, which was nice and fat and didn’t load on too much product at once (which historically makes my lashes stick together. Plus, the tapered tip of the brush made it easy for me to get the little lashes at the corners of my eyes, as well as the bottom lashes. See the effects for yourself:

The most obvious difference is in the volume. My lashes looked thicker for sure—and somewhat longer—but with zero clumps, a real feat if I ever saw one. If you’re a fan of extension-like, out-to-there lashes, this may not be the mascara for you, since it’ll make them longer, but not to um-are-those-real proportions. Long lashes aren’t my thing, so I don’t care about this. However, if you’re pretty chill about your lashes and just want to give them a healthy, full appearance—or you’re looking for a solid vegan formula—look no further than this mascara. If this doesn’t make a solid case for CBD oil, I don’t know what will.

Jennifer Lawrence Wants to Take an Acting Break and Milk Goats on a Farm

Jennifer Lawrence has starred in 17 movies since her big break in the Oscar-winning Winter’s Bone just seven years ago in 2010—which averages out to a whopping three movies each year! Considering we’re exhausted just reading that, we don’t blame her for saying she’s looking forward to taking a break from work.

In Elle magazine’s November issue, Lawrence got candid about what she intends to do with her time off. Travel the world? Spend time in her native state of Kentucky? Finally binge-watch Stranger Things? Nope, none of those relaxing things are on Lawrence’s list. Rather, she wants to get back to nature—well, in a way.

“I want to get a farm,” she told Elle. “I want to be, like, milking goats.”

Lawrence, who was the world’s highest paid actress in 2016, has indeed cleared off her slate a bit. According to IMDb, she’s wrapped Red Sparrow, a thriller directed by Hunger Games franchise director Francis Lawrence, and the next X-Men installment (reportedly her last). Once the press for those is over, the only other project she’s announced is Bad Blood, a biopic of the life of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes—though there’s no date attached to it yet.

She also spoke on the Today Show in September about wanting to take a break from acting—though her plans then were for pottery, not milking goats (both sound kind of relaxing, TBH). However, she admitted that she doesn’t like taking time off.

“I’m taking one [a break]. I don’t have anything set for two years. I don’t know [what to do]. I don’t know, start making pots? I think I’m just taking a little break. I’ll see you in six months,” Lawrence joked.

Other plans for her break? She’s focusing on political activism through grassroots anti-corruption nonprofit, Represent.Us—and, more than likely, spending a little time on the couch keeping up with the Kardashians.
