Whipped Strawberry Milk Is Instagram's New Obsession—and It's Even Easier Than Dalgona Coffee

Forget whipped coffee, whipped strawberry milk is the latest beverage to take the internet by storm.

As most people continue to practice social distancing amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many have turned to cooking, baking lots of banana bread, and whipping up just about any pretty treat that will impress their TikTok followers.

For a few weeks, dalgona coffee was everywhere. It’s a simple drink made from a blend of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water whipped into a cloud-like froth and served over ice and milk. Not to mention, it’s fun to make. Even Lizzo tried (and failed) to make it during her own quarantine.

Now, there’s a new—and very pink—option for those looking for a caffeine-free alternative. The best part? It’s even easier to make. According to one recipe shared by food influencer Valentina Mussi (@sweetportfolio), all you need is two ingredients: 1tbsp of strawberry Nesquik and 4tbsp (1/4 cup) of heavy whipping cream.

Similar to whipped coffee, this colorful version requires lots of mixing and whipping with either an electric mixer or a mixture by hand. Once it’s fluffy, fill your glass with ice and milk before topping it with a few spoonfuls of the cream.

“Mix it until your arm is numb and serve over cold or hot milk,” Mussi explains. If you’re feeling fancy, you can even dust the rim of your glass with powder and add a fresh strawberry on top. Sounds like the perfect drink to pair with your latest batch perfect chocolate chip cookies…Just saying.

If you’re not into strawberry, Mussi also shared recipes for cocoa and Nutella-whipped drinks. Just whisk together 1/2 teaspoon cocoa (or a spoonful of Nutella), 1 teaspoon sugar, and 3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream to create your very own—and much more Instagrammable—Starbucks Frappuccino.

People all over Instagram are obviously obsessed with the pink drink.

William Shakespeare may have written King Lear during the plague, but we’re revolutionizing milk. Honestly, I love this journey for us.

Mandy Moore Just Sang ‘Only Hope’ From A Walk to Remember, and It's What We All Needed

If you’re anything like me, you may be seeking comfort during these unsettling times in the form of nostalgic TV shows and movies. Mandy Moore definitely gets it and is here with the content you need right now as we start another week of isolation.

The singer-actor and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, have taken to performing music sets on Instagram Live from their home. Moore has been doing songs from her latest (excellent) album, Silver Landings, along with many other classic covers. But on Sunday, April 5, Moore brought out the big guns—emotionally speaking—when she sang “Only Hope” from her famous teen tearjerker, A Walk to Remember.

If for some reason you’ve never seen the movie, based on Nicholas Sparks’s hit novel, it follows the love story of Jamie, the sweet preacher’s daughter who’s battling leukemia, and Landon (Shane West), the popular bad boy forced to join the school play after getting into trouble. You can imagine where things go from there. In one of the movie’s pivotal moments, Landon starts to realize the true depth of his feelings for Jamie as he’s on stage with her during the play. Jamie is famously singing “Only Hope” during this scene—so to hear Moore belt it out again on IG brought on all of the feels.

Check it out for yourself below; it’s beautiful.

Fans were beyond excited.

This scene is super meaningful to Mandy Moore as well. “The most memorable scene [in A Walk to Remember] for me is the school play and singing the song ‘Only Hope,’” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2017. “I remember putting on that beautiful ice blue, silk dress and everyone fawning all over it. It was the first time that I wasn’t in a ratty sweater and an oversized housedress.”

In case you’re now jonesing for a Walk to Remember cry, it’s currently available to rent on Amazon Prime.

Jane Fonda Revived Her Classic ‘Jane Fonda’ Workout on TikTok, and It's Everything

Jane Fonda might actually convince me to join TikTok.

The Hollywood legend is now a member of the viral social platform, and she did something incredible for one of her inaugural posts: revived her retro “Jane Fonda workouts,” which swept the country in the 70s and 80s.

“My name is Jane Fonda and I’m going to bring back the ‘Jane Fonda workout,’” she says on her TikTok, posted Thursday, April 2. She also put the video on IG for those who aren’t TikTokers quite yet.

See it for yourself, below:

But it looks like this might be a one-time thing. It seems Fonda did the workout to draw attention to the globe’s climate crisis. After a few leg lifts, she told her followers, “There are too many workouts happening right now, on television and on computers. What I really would like you to do is work out with me for the planet. There’s a climate crisis that’s a real emergency and so, whether you’re on your couch or your yoga mat, will you join me for the Virtual Fire Drill Fridays?”

Virtual Fire Drill Fridays, for those who don’t know, are rallies organized by Greenpeace USA and Fonda that help bring awareness to the climate change crisis and how people can help it virtually. Fonda recruited several celebs, including Piper Perabo and Marissa Tomei, to help spread the message. The drills will happen digitally every Friday in April at 2 P.M. ET.

“Join us this Friday alongside @JaneFonda and @FireDrillFriday to keep the pressure on politicians to adopt a Green New Deal, end new fossil fuels, and enact a just transition to a renewable economy that protects workers and communities,” Greenpeace USA wrote in an Instagram caption. “Let’s tackle the climate crisis together while we #StayHome. We’ll see you online!”

This is a great, important cause, but can Jane Fonda actually start teaching workouts again? That might motivate me to get off my couch!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Review: Why It's Worth It

It’s nearly impossible to talk about the best lip balms without mentioning the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The K-Beauty brand’s little pink tub has sold out multiple times since it arrived to the U.S. a few years ago and is praised for saving dry, cracked lips. So no surprise, when Glamour readers were asked to weigh in on their all-time favorite balms for this year’s Glamour Beauty Awards, this took home the crown.

As its name implies, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a leave-on mask that soothes and moisturizes lips overnight. Which is just a fancy way of saying it’s a really thick, nutrient-rich balm that goes to work to while you’re asleep (although, it’s so good, I wear it 24/7). It’s got all the good things you want in a balm: hydrating hyaluronic acid, brightening vitamin C, and antioxidants that work together to form a barrier over your lips to lock in moisture. Plus, the flavors are incredible. It comes in vanilla, apple lime, grapefruit, and the original berry, which features a delicious-smelling blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts (the latter is my fave).

The instructions ask you to apply a generous layer, which I do—and with reckless abandon. Most skin care products require “just a tiny bit,” so being able to slather on as much as I want feels like a necessary indulgence.

Despite being thick and goopy, the balm sinks into my lips within 15 or so minutes. It’s not tacky at all, and it wears off slowly as you sleep. You’re supposed to gently wipe or wash it off in the morning, but I rarely do. My desert-dry lips just soak up all of it—every night without fail.

I usually stash different lip balms in my coat pockets and bags, but the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is the one product I can actually rely on to do the work. It comes with a small applicator, which is my least favorite part about it since I find it hard to clean afterward, so I tend to use a Q-Tip instead. And actually, since our lips are relatively small compared to our faces, the tub lasts for months. (For the record, I’ve had mine for over a year.)

I’m usually to hard please when it comes to lip stuff. I need something that doesn’t dry out my lips more (I’m constantly licking them, although I know I shouldn’t), but is also low-maintenance. Bonus points if it looks pretty on my top shelf. My one gripe with other lip masks or scrubs is that it’s a whole process. You have to scoop, scrub, wipe, rinse…it’s too much. I just want something I can put on and forget about. Luckily, this is it for me.

And even though there’s no kissing happening once I have it on, the baby soft, smooth lips I get in the morning are totally worth it for me—and clearly, 13,000 other Glamour readers too.

This 'Bored' Sports Broadcaster Filmed A Play-By-Play of His Dogs Racing to Eat Their Dinner and It's Brilliant

People are finding all sorts of interesting ways to stay busy while social distancing, but this sports broadcaster’s play-by-play of his pups racing to eat their food is exactly what we all need right now.

Though many sporting events have been canceled and postponed across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic—including the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games—BBC sports broadcaster Andrew Cotter found a new way to keep doing what he loves.

The clip, which was posted to Twitter on Friday, March 27, shows his two Labradors, Mabel and Olive, racing to see who can finish off a bowl of dog food the quickest. However, it was Cotter’s colorful commentary that made the footage so brilliant.

“I was bored,” Cotter captioned the recording, which has garnered over five million views in just 24 hours.

In the video, he put all his skill and experience to good use by describing his dogs’ mealtime as though it was a competition. It featured all the elements of a real sporting event and there was even a sassy person in the “crowd” telling him to “get on with it” at the beginning of the race.

“You can see the contrast in styles. Mabel’s heavy tail use. Happy to be alive. Everything’s amazing. Olive more steady, wasting little energy,” Cotter commented before delivering the best line of the video, “Focused, relentless, tasting absolutely nothing.”

You can watch the video for yourself below:

In the end, the winner was Olive, who finished her bowl first. “What a final we’ve had here. Great rivals, but great friends,” Cotter concluded. “Join us again tomorrow live coverage of a snooze on the sofa.”

The clip has been so well received online that people are urging Cotter to release a sequel.

They’ve also been thanking him for providing them with this feel-good content.

It’s safe to say people are obsessed. Here’s hoping there are more funny dog videos like this one to come from Cotter. We deserve it.

Grey's Anatomy Finally Revealed What Happened to Alex Karev—and It's Major

Warning: Major Grey’s Anatomy spoilers ahead.

Grey’s Anatomy fans were shocked earlier this year when it was announced that Justin Chambers, one of the show’s original cast members, would be leaving his role in the middle of the current season. In fact, once we learned the news, his final episode had already aired.

“There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years,” Chambers (a.k.a Alex Karev) said. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”

What would become of Alex Karev? How would the show handle a pivotal character’s seemingly sudden departure? Of the original group of surgical interns we first met back in 2005, only Karev and Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) remained—along with two of their mentors, Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.). This being Grey’s Anatomy, really any plot twist was on the table, including an offscreen death, which many fans feared.

But Grey’s had a happier ending in mind, or at least some longtime fans will see it that way. We learned last week that Karev was not actually taking care of his sick mother, as he had told Meredith and his wife, Jo (Camilla Luddington). Nope, he was actually reunited with none other than his long lost love and first wife, Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl).

We learned all of this by way of letters Karev sent to Meredith, Bailey, and Jo. He revealed that he called Izzie when he was rallying the troops to help save Meredith’s medical license earlier this season. (After surviving cancer, Izzie left Alex heartbroken and ran off to parts unknown in season six. He eventually married Jo.) They got to talking, and Izzie told him she had used the embryos they created during her cancer battle and given birth to twins, Eli and Alexis. The couple rekindled their relationship and he moved to Kansas to be with Izzie and raise their children. ‘I’m finally exactly where I should be. I never had that before,” Karev wrote, talking about giving his children the stable childhood and family he never had.
