Ulta Just Launched a Huge Holiday 'Beauty Blitz' Sale With Different Deals Each Day

When it comes to beauty sales, Ulta always brings the heat. Its trusty 21 Days of Beauty Sale is basically a holiday in and of itself—and let’s never forget the store’s killer Black Friday sale this year. But now the beauty retailer is kicking things up a notch and celebrating the start of the gifting season with its Holiday Beauty Blitz Sale, and there are crazy good discounts happening each day until December 25.

The way this sale works is that Ulta’s giving us new deals in store and online each and every day—and there are some seriously good offers going on. The catch? They’re only telling us what’s going on sale five days at a time. The sale started yesterday (the first product up for grabs was the Smashbox Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Contour + Blush Palette)—but it’s not too late to join the party!

So break out your holiday gift-giving list; grab that magical piece of plastic from your wallet; and get shopping. Yesterday’s deal sold out, and there’s no guarantee upcoming days won’t do the same.

December 2: bareMinerals foundations are all just $19—instead of their normal $28-34. And yep, this includes the original, best-selling powder, the liquid line, and the brand’s well-reviewed Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream SPF formula. These foundations have been on our Beauty Awards lists a few times for their silky finish and added SPF bonus.

December 3: Both Tarte’s Double Duty Beauty Discovery Set and its Fresh Faced Faves Best-Sellers Kit are 40 percent off, bringing them down to $21.60 and $17.40 respectively. If you’re new to Tarte or looking for a great gift, these collections are perfect—and now very affordable.

December 4: Mally Beauty Mally’s Glow 5 Piece Collection is now $16, which is 50 percent off its usual price. This kit will give you that holiday glow—and a really cute makeup bag to go with it.

December 5: Becca Cosmetics’ Lush Lip Colour Balm is 50 percent off, which brings these balms down to a one-for-you-one-for-me $11. The products pack just the right amount of color with extra moisture for the winter days ahead.

Study: Three Cups of Coffee a Day Might Actually Be Good for You

Ours is a coffee-obsessed culture. We argue over which is better: [Dunkin’ Donuts](/about/dunkin-donuts, Starbucks, or home-brewed—and any number of the little independent coffeeshops we get our fix at. There are entire news cycles devoted to the release of Starbucks holiday cups. Heck, McDonald’s was even making coffee jokes this morning on Twitter. And coffee’s a habit that might not be terrible for us: It’s been known for a while that the drink can have some health benefits outside of that delicious jolt of energy it brings—like extending your life span and reducing damage from overdoing it on booze. But some of us still worry that we’re too caffeinated and too addicted—especially when we’re craving that third cup at 2 PM. However, a new study has some seriously great news for us.

Published by BMJ, the new findings are based on an analysis of over 200 past studies—and they’re here to help us embrace the espresso. According to the findings, people who drink three to four cups a day are more likely to see health benefits, including lower rates of some cancers, cardiovascular disease, and liver disease. Drinking coffee can also help lower your chances for Type 2 diabetes, dementia, and strokes, according to the study.

Three to four cups?!? We were expecting the results to say that you shouldn’t have more than one. (Which, frankly, is just not something we can live with.) But now that our habit isn’t terrible for us—heck, it might even be good for us—we no longer have to feel guilty having that last mid-afternoon cup. (Side note: This does not apply to pregnant women or anyone prone to bone fractures.)

It’s worth noting that these results are mostly observational and that researchers can’t state with certainty that the benefits are due strictly to coffee intake. University of Southampton professor Paul Roebick, one of the study’s co-authors, told the BBC that “factors such as age, whether people smoked or not and how much exercise they took could all have had an effect.”

To get the full benefits of coffee, researchers recommend keeping your brew as healthy as possible—which means skipping extra sugar and, for the very hardcore, sticking with black.

Roebick did add that “there is a balance of risks in life, and the benefits of moderate consumption of coffee seem to outweigh the risks.” We’ll definitely take that—and another refill, please.

Sara Ramirez Says She's Open to Returning to 'Grey's Anatomy' as Callie Torres One Day

Last May, Sara Ramirez announced she would be leaving Grey’s Anatomy for good, putting her among other departed Grey’s veterans like Sandra Oh and Katherine Heigl. After 10 years on the show, Callie Torres exited from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during the season 12 finale, making up with her ex-wife, gaining permission to see their daughter, and moving to New York to live with her girlfriend. Although her run ended on a happy note, many fans (understandably) mourned the end of Callie’s storyline.

But now, Grey’s fanatics might have a reason for celebration…well, maybe. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ramirez said she isn’t completely opposed to Callie coming back. “When Shonda [Rhimes] and I last spoke, we agreed to keep the conversations going, and she knows I’m open to keeping those conversations going,” she said. Nevertheless, she doesn’t have any regrets about leaving when she did. When asked if she thought her Grey’s departure was the right decision, she answered, “Absolutely.”

A year and a half ago, Ramirez told EW in a statement that she was leaving the Shondaland flagship to focus on other endeavors. “I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at Grey’s Anatomy and ABC, but for now I’m taking some welcome time off,” she said at the time. And since her exit, she has remained off the small screen, working instead on advocacy, outreach, and legal issues in the LGBTQ community.

“It has been a really full year,” Ramirez said. (She came out as bisexual last October.) “There were a lot of important events that I got the opportunity to be a part of.” These included participating in an ACLU-run Austin, Texas rally against anti-trans legislation, speaking about intersectionality at the Equality March in D.C., and accepting a Trailblazer Award from the LGBT Center in New York.

After such a monumental year, Ramirez made her television return on Madam Secretary on Sunday, where she debuted a new character, Kat Sandoval, who is a political strategist that took time off until she returned to the State Department. She hasn’t given any more intel on Callie’s potential return, but if Cristina, Izzie, and George’s post-exit “cameos” were anything to go by, there’s a possibility we might see Callie a lot sooner than we expect.

Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, and Other Celebs Speak Out on Latina Equal Pay Day

Today is Latina Women’s Equal Pay Day and celebrities like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria are speaking out in hopes of raising awareness around the issue. According to the National Women’s Law Center, the wage gap for a Latina woman working full-time is typically 54 cents for every dollar white, non-Hispanic men make. That’s in stark comparison to the overall troubling wage gap of 80 cents to a man’s dollar that women make overall.

The date of November 2 was chosen for #LatinaEqualPay to illustrate the ten months extra a Latina woman would have to work to make the same amount as a white man.

Sara Ramirez, of “Grey’s Anatomy” fame, and “Blindspot” actress Audrey Esparza showed their support as well.

In an op-ed for Forbes, Longora lays out proactive steps she believes will help address the problem head-on—from representation in the decision-making processes in the workplace to really and truly supporting women in the workplace.

She concluded: “CEOs, executives, influencers and entrepreneurs: I’m talking to you. Take an honest look at the gender compensation parity in your company, and if there’s a gap, fix it. Not only is it the right thing to do, it’s proven that it makes business sense…Let’s demand more for Latinas. Because we’re worth the whole dollar.”

This Delightfully Bizarre Clip of Britney Spears Painting Will Make Your Day

We all know Britney Spears is a woman of many talents. She’s an award-winning singer and an amazing dancer on top of bringing up her kids and being an expert red carpet pose-r—plus, she’s an actress (we still love you, Crossroads) and a genius prankster. But it turns out she has yet another talent that’s been hidden from us for all of these years: Britney Spears is a painter.

In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Spears proves she’s an artist on and off the stage with a little painting video that seems a little familiar. Remember the iconic Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting on PBS? It ran for 31 calming, delightful seasons from 1983 to 1994. Ross would walk us through the creation of masterpiece after masterpiece, always encouraging us to paint along with him and commenting on all the “happy little clouds and trees” he’d paint before our eyes. Well, Brit is following in the very quirky artist’s footsteps.

The “Piece of Me” singer posted a very funny and wonderfully bizarre video on Instagram Friday of her painting a canvas, complete with classical music. Her caption featured a beautiful plethora of emojis: “Sometimes you just gotta play!!!!!! ??????‍?????????????”

Brit must’ve been working on this artwork for a while because the video features her in two different outfits: a striped shirt splattered with paint on the collar, and then, later in the video, a flowing white sleeveless top. Painting gets messy sometimes, you know?

We’re all here for having fun creative outlets after work (and this singer has never been one to sit still), so props to her for finding something relaxing. Maybe she and Adele can team up for a craft night: the British singer, after all, has confessed before to a secret love of making pom-poms.

Rihanna Wants to Time-Travel Back to the Day She Lost Her Virginity

Rihanna is killing the game right now. The pop star just launched her first makeup line, Fenty Beauty, her song with DJ Khaled, “Wild Thoughts,” is rocking the Billboard charts, and she’s still hanging out with that Saudi billionaire she was first spotted kissing over the summer. (RiRi tried to hide him under an umbrella-ella last month, but the Internet wasn’t fooled!) All of Rihanna’s body-shamers need to sit down, because she’s on top of the world.

But even though Rihanna is ubiquitous, there’s still a lot we don’t know about her—as this new interview with Elle proves. The singer covers several topics during her recent chat with the magazine—including why lipstick is her “secret weapon”—but the most interesting tidbit involves time travel.

One of Rihanna’s friends, magician David Copperfield, asked her where she’d go if she was magically zapped anywhere in the world, and her answer was pretty surprising.

“Ten minutes before I lost my virginity,” Rihanna told Copperfield, who said that he actually can make her disappear and reappear any place on Earth. (Not sure if he was kidding or not.)

Interesting, right? There was no follow-up to this question. Rihanna didn’t explain why she’d transport back to the day she lost her virginity or when exactly this was. It’s a curious thought, though. Losing your virginity is typically a very awkward and vulnerable experience. I certainly wouldn’t want to repeat that day—it seems like Rihanna might want to prevent it from happening altogether.

Leave it to Rihanna to give the most mysterious and intriguing answer to this question. Most people would’ve just said the Bahamas. OK, I would’ve said the Bahamas.
