Claw Clip Hairstyles Celebrities Love – Best Claw Clips 2020

I don’t need to tell you that throwback hairstyles are having a moment. Every time you open Instagram you’re probably berated with prom-style tendrils, tiny hair clips, and oversized headbands—I know I am. But recently, there’s been a hair accessory I’ve abandoned all my sparkly pins, fancy scrunchies, and pearl-encrusted everything for: the humble claw clip.

To me, claw clips have always been utilitarian. My mom has worn a plain tortoise one when she’s cooking for as long as I can remember, and I used to wear them to keep my hair out of my face in elementary school. It wasn’t something I ever expected I’d want to wear again, until last spring when I was walking through a dollar store during a trip to Tokyo. There it was: the cutest pink clip. I bought it on a whim, thinking I’d use it to hold back my hair during my nighttime routine.

At first the claw clip didn’t make it out of the house, but then they were suddenly everywhere I looked. Overnight, it was like every Insta-girl was wearing candy-colored Seoul Import clips, and more sleek versions were popping up in celebrity pap shots left and right. And then it hit me: claw clips are officially chic.

Since then, I haven’t left the house without a claw clip tucked into my hair or in my purse (or sometimes, clipped on my purse strap). While, yes, they’re amazing at their main job—holding up a lot of hair with minimal effort—what I love most about the clip is its versatility.

My first venture into wearing claw clips out of the house is a look comedian and host of the Glowing Up podcast Caroline Goldfarb dubbed “the Brigitte Broke-dot.” Essentially, it’s just pilling a bunch of hair into a half up, clipping it, and leaving your front tendrils or bangs out. It’s romantic, easy, and insanely flattering—the half-up with some pieces around the front frames your face in such a pretty way. The look somehow fixes any bad hair day, and makes every outfit a little more pulled together.

On the other hand, the look of choice for celeb models like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Hailey Bieber is a slicked back bun with the clips holding it all together. It’s a very ’90s supermodel look that manages to feel fresh and modern. The sleekness of the bun looks put together, but a claw clip lends it some “oh this old thing?” charm and effortlessness. I’ve never been into slick hair, but the ease of a clip makes it feel totally wearable. Plus, this style lets you really show off a cute clip. It feels like you’re wearing jewelry in your hair.

While there are certainly luxe options, my favorite thing about this trend is most clips clock in at under $25. Believe me when I say you won’t be sorry to resurrect them.

New 'Game of Thrones' Clip Shows Sansa and Daenerys Meeting for the First Time

After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Game of Thrones eighth season is returning in April. And without any teasers to satiate our obsession, it’s a been a long, hard hibernation. Now, finally—finally!—we’ve got some sort of clue as to what’s going to unfold in Westeros. HBO just dropped the first official teaser for the show’s final season. And what it lacks in length (it’s only five seconds long), it more than makes up for in drama.

The clip shows Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryens arrival in Winterfell, and features Dany’s first-ever face-to-face meeting with Sansa Stark.

And let’s just say the encounter isn’t all smiles and sunshine. Much like winter in Westeros, the interaction between the two of them seems icy. In the video Sansa begrudgingly tells Dany, “Winterfell is yours, your grace.”

Though the clip is new, Entertainment Weekly had previously reported that the new season of Game of Thrones would open in Winterfell. Back in November the outlet revealed that, “season 8 opens at Winterfell with an episode that contains plenty of callbacks to the show’s pilot. Instead of King Robert’s procession arriving, it’s Daenerys and her army. What follows is a thrilling and tense intermingling of characters—some of whom have never previously met, many who have messy histories—as they all prepare to face the inevitable invasion of the Army of the Dead.”

The scene was also previously featured in a HBO promo highlighting the network’s 2019 projects. That clip showcased an awkward hug between Sansa and Jon, so clearly this scene is all around tense. One Twitter user joked, “When you bring your new girlfriend home to meet the family but your half-sister-cousin ain’t having it. #GameofThrones #Season8.” Brienne of Tarth and Ser Jorah Mormont were also on-hand for Sansa and Dany’s showdown and Jon’s homecoming.

The trailer also featured snippets of some of our other favorite HBO shows, and in the Big Little Lies segment we got a spotting of the queen herself, Meryl Streep, in character in Monterey. The next chapter of True Detective and the final season of Veep were also featured.

The exact date of the season premiere has still not been announced. But it’s safe to say, this season is going to be chilling.

A Star Is Born Every Clip Trailer

A Star Is Born is quickly becoming one of the buzziest movies this awards season. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper star in the remake of this classic story, which centers on a country singer on the decline who takes a young female singer under his wing and watches her celebrity rise. (Cooper also directs.) Early reviews of the movie were off the charts, with the crowd at the Venice Film Festival giving it an eight-minute ovation last week. Now, it’s taking the Toronto International Film Festival by storm.

“A STAR IS BORN is an endearing, sweet puppy dog of a movie, but Lady Gaga charges through it like a nuclear bomb,” tweeted Eric Kohn from IndieWire shortly after catching the movie in Toronto. “It’s fantastic,” tweeted Charles Bramesco, who contributes to Vulture and Mic. “I could not have been more skeptical, and yet this worked on me real, real good.” And there’s more praise where these two messages came from. Below, check out some early responses to the movie from TIFF. They’re almost unanimously positive—overwhelmingly so.

If you’re experiencing some serious FOMO right now, don’t worry: Warner Bros. just released four clips from A Star Is Born, so you can see firsthand where all this love is coming from. The first one, below, shows Ally (Gaga) and Jackson (Cooper) having a conversation in a bar about why Ally doesn’t sing her own songs. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable—and the natural way Gaga swims through the dialogue is impressive.

The next one shows Ally singing the chorus of a tune she wrote on the fly, if you need a little reminder that Lady Gaga can belt.

The last two aren’t as exciting but still fun to watch. Below, watch as Jackson gets a lesson on how all music is essentially the same 12 notes. Do I know what that means? Nope. But it’s all good because Lady Gaga’s going to be nominated for an Oscar (hopefully)!

[embedded content]

Last, Jackson’s friend tells him to get his life together over shots of him and Gaga riding a motorcycle.

What’s that? Nine Oscars just showed up at Lady Gaga’s house out of the blue? A Best Actress is born! (Kidding, but putting that energy into the world can’t hurt!)

A Star Is Born hits theaters October 5.

This Delightfully Bizarre Clip of Britney Spears Painting Will Make Your Day

We all know Britney Spears is a woman of many talents. She’s an award-winning singer and an amazing dancer on top of bringing up her kids and being an expert red carpet pose-r—plus, she’s an actress (we still love you, Crossroads) and a genius prankster. But it turns out she has yet another talent that’s been hidden from us for all of these years: Britney Spears is a painter.

In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Spears proves she’s an artist on and off the stage with a little painting video that seems a little familiar. Remember the iconic Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting on PBS? It ran for 31 calming, delightful seasons from 1983 to 1994. Ross would walk us through the creation of masterpiece after masterpiece, always encouraging us to paint along with him and commenting on all the “happy little clouds and trees” he’d paint before our eyes. Well, Brit is following in the very quirky artist’s footsteps.

The “Piece of Me” singer posted a very funny and wonderfully bizarre video on Instagram Friday of her painting a canvas, complete with classical music. Her caption featured a beautiful plethora of emojis: “Sometimes you just gotta play!!!!!! ??????‍?????????????”

Brit must’ve been working on this artwork for a while because the video features her in two different outfits: a striped shirt splattered with paint on the collar, and then, later in the video, a flowing white sleeveless top. Painting gets messy sometimes, you know?

We’re all here for having fun creative outlets after work (and this singer has never been one to sit still), so props to her for finding something relaxing. Maybe she and Adele can team up for a craft night: the British singer, after all, has confessed before to a secret love of making pom-poms.

Lady Gaga Cries About Feeling 'Alone' in This Clip From Her New Netflix Documentary

There’s a moment in Lady Gaga’s 2011 documentary about her Monster Ball Tour where she breaks down in tears. She’s wiping off her makeup after a show and says, “I still feel like a loser still, you know?… I just gotta pick my shit up, pick myself up, and I have to tell myself I’m a superstar every morning.” It’s an incredibly vulnerable moment, but people who know Gaga well shouldn’t be surprised by her candor here. She’s always been raw with her fans—about her struggles, past addictions, everything. Even at the peak of her meat dress-wearing years, Gaga was always real.

And she gets even realer in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two. In a new clip teasing the film, Gaga cries about the isolating nature of fame—something she’s discussed many times before, but never this openly.

“I’m alone, Brandon. Every night. All of these people will leave,” she says in the preview. “They will leave, and then I’ll be alone. I go from everyone touching me all day and talking at me all day to total silence.”

Watch the clip for yourself, below:

These comments echo something Gaga said last year during a conversation with Jamie Lee Curtis. “I don’t think I could think of a single thing that’s more isolating than being famous,” she said. “I think the hardest thing for me is that I love people so much and it is very hard to not be able to engage with people in a real and honest way…because they either want something from me or they see me as something that I simply am not.”

Gaga touches on her “feud” with Madonna in this new documentary, as well. (If you’re unfamiliar, Madonna waged a war of sorts with Mother Monster after she thought “Born This Way” sounded a little too similar to “Express Yourself.” For the record, both songs are great—for very different reasons.)

“The thing with Madonna is I’ve admired her always,” Gaga says. “And I still admire her…no matter what she might think of me.”

Gaga’s documentary premieres September 22 on Netflix. We can’t wait.

Taylor Swift Just Reappeared on Social Media With a Mysterious Video Clip

PHOTO: Gary Miller/Getty Images

Taylor Swift is back and slithering into your social media feed.

The singer, who mysteriously removed all social media content and blacked out her website on Friday, resurfaced on Instagram and Twitter Monday morning with a dark and curious 15-second video. In the clip that flashes with faux static, a scaly tail attached to an unknown creature unfurls — is this Swift’s way of leaning into the “snake-like” persona that haters attributed to her last year after her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian came to light? (Or is it a dragon’s tail and Taylor is just a huge Game of Thrones fan?)

Interestingly enough, it seems Swift has also turned off comments on her Instagram post of the clip, which could mean she’s trying to keep the hype around her new content limited. Furthermore, famed music video director and longtime Swift collaborator, Joseph Khan retweeted Taylor’s video along with a smiley face caption, providing further legitimacy to claims that the clip is from a new music video that Khan likely directed.

While the video’s mysteries have yet to be revealed, it’s reasonable to assume that this clip is a teaser for Swift’s first music video off highly-anticipated sixth album. It’s been three years since she released 1989 — Friday also marked the three-year anniversary of her announcement of 1989 and the release of “Shake It Off” — and while the Swift had religiously released new music every two years since hitting the music scene, she stayed out of the spotlight last year following an epic world tour and some not-so-happy personal tribulations. She recently returned to the media’s circus when she went to trial (and won) a sexual assault case against DJ David Mueller.
