Zayn Malik Tweeted 'Love You' to Gigi Hadid, and Twitter Had a Meltdown

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid reportedly broke up back in January, but whether things are over-over between them or not is still a little TBD (not that, you know, they have to define their status for us). On Saturday, for example, he dropped her an L-bomb on Twitter, writing, “@GiGiHadid love you.”

Hadid, who is currently out and about at Paris Fashion Week, didn’t respond (models gotta model). In the meantime, Twitter exploded as it tried to figure out if whether Malik’s missive actually indicated that the on-again, off-again couple has rekindled their relationship—although the only way to be sure would be if one of them confirmed it. They have a habit of keeping things ambiguous; at one point, Malik had shared that they didn’t believe they need to define things for anyone. “We’re adults. We don’t need to put a label on it, make it something for people’s expectations,” he told GQ.

Regardless, the little outreach from Malik sparked a virtual storm:

The couple’s relationship is hard to follow, so there’s a full timeline if you need to catch up. Basically, however, they dated for about three years after getting together in 2015. But in 2018, they released some of the world’s most civil break-up statements, announcing that they’d gone their separate ways.

“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend,” Malik said in his. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time; we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ”

“I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be,” Hadid said in her.

However, they’ve been spotted together in recent months. The Sun obtained several photos of Hadid leaving Malik’s apartment following rumors that they had split. But for now at least, Zigi shows no signs of confirming things anytime soon.

Ariana Grande Explains Why She Tweeted 'Trash’ During the Grammys

Ariana Grande didn’t attend the Grammys Sunday night (February 10), but she certainly had the entire Internet talking. She first did this by posting several photos of herself lounging around in the Zac Posen dress she planned on wearing to the ceremony. (Grande was slated to perform, but she opted out after reported creative differences with Grammys producers.) She raised eyebrows during the actual ceremony, though, by tweeting a series of pointed messages after her ex-boyfriend, the late Mac Miller, lost Best Rap Album to Cardi B.

Here’s what happened, according to People. Shortly after Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy scooped up Best Rap Album, Grande tweeted—and then deleted—the words “literal bullshit,” “fuck,” and “trash.” A few fans read this as Grande shading Cardi B, but she later clarified the comments.

“Nothing to do with her. Good for her. I promise. I’m sorry,” Grande tweeted, according to People. She then added, “She’s not at all [trash] and that’s not what I meant and you know that.” Again, all these messages have since been deleted.

Here’s a screen grab of one of Grande’s tweets:

Twitter

“It has nothing to do with Cardi,” a source tells People. Rather, Grande is reportedly upset Miller’s parents, Karen Meyer and Mark McCormick, attended the show—per the Grammys’ invitation—and he didn’t win.

When a fan pointed this out on Twitter, Grande replied, “This. This is what I meant. Karen was gonna have a green suit made.” (This tweet has also been deleted.)

Ariana Grande released her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, this past Friday, February 8. Fans think she references Miller throughout the album, particularly on a song called “Ghostin.” “I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again over him / I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again / ‘Stead of ghostin’ him,” she sings, which some theorize is her alluding to missing Miller when she was with her most recent ex, Pete Davidson. First Lady Melania Trump Spoke at a Cyberbullying Summit While the President Tweeted Insults

First Lady Melania Trump is once again speaking out about one of the key components of her Be Best initiative: cyberbullying. But her comments are ringing a little ironic to many, given her husband’s propensity to, well, cyberbully.

Trump delivered her remarks on Monday at a cyberbullying prevention summit in Maryland, stressing the “responsible” use of social media platforms. “I know many of you are here representing social media companies, federal agencies, educational organizations, youth programs, and law enforcement,” she said. “I also know we share one goal—to pave a smooth way forward for our children, our next generation. I launched my Be Best campaign in May, with a focus on the many issues facing children today—one of them being the safe and responsible use of social media.”

She continued with what proved to be one the most discussed lines of her brief speech, especially since Donald Trump’s presidency has been riddled daily with Twitter attacks posted from his official account: “In today’s global society, social media is an inevitable part of our children’s daily lives. It can be used in many positive ways, but can also be destructive and harmful when used incorrectly. That is why Be Best chooses to focus on the importance of teaching our next generation how to conduct themselves safely and in a positive manner in an online setting.”

As if on cue (and in yet another seemingly public contradiction) President Trump spent part of his morning tweeting insults at Robert Mueller and former CIA Director John Brennan, using language like “disgraced,” “discredited,” “hack,” and “worst CIA Director in our country’s history.”

The First Lady has been taking heat for her cyberbullying platform since she first spoke about it during the 2016 campaign—and it certainly isn’t going to go away when Donald Trump’s tweets keep presenting the couple at opposite sides of the issue’s spectrum.

It didn’t take long for people on social media to call out this latest round of contradictions—and for the First Lady’s spokeswoman to fire back. “Rather than dissecting her remarks, let’s focus on the countless children who struggle w bullying & online safety each day,” Stephanie Grisham tweeted in response to criticism.

The White House pool reporters traveling with the First Lady asked why she continues to be engaged in the cyberbullying issue when the President uses Twitter to insult his detractors (and then some). Grisham replied: “The First Lady’s presence at events such as today’s cyberbullying summit elevates an issue that is important to children and families across this country. She is aware of the criticism but it will not deter her from doing what she feels is right. The President is proud of her commitment to children and encourages her in all that she does.”

Still, it’s hard not to question if the First Lady is again publicly contradicting her husband, or if she just doesn’t see the initiative as irony.

Chrissy Teigen Tweeted About Her Gray Hair—Now Other Women Are Too

As was to be expected from Twitter’s resident truth bomb-dropper, Chrissy Teigen has upheld her signature no-holds-barred honesty throughout her second pregnancy. Since she and husband John Legend announced in November that they are currently expecting their second child, the supermodel/cookbook author has kept her millions of followers abreast of every pregnancy-related headache, swollen body part, and, most recently, gray hair—and the Internet is loving every second of it.

On Monday morning, she took to Twitter to share her latest development. “I have a skunk-like streak of grey hair and I’m actually very into it. My Cruella dreams are coming true!” she tweeted. In the hours since Teigen posted her ode, countless women have replied to the tweet with photos of their own gray streaks and stories about learning to embrace their grays.

“I find new grey hairs on my head every day and I LOVE THEM. I’m only 24, so I’m not sure why they’re already here but I call them my unicorn hairs. ??,” one person tweeted. “My temples are silver/white while the rest of my hair is very, very slowly getting sprinkles only. I do not mind it at all,” another added. And the replies to those replies were, surprisingly enough, equally encouraging. Other Twitter users—mainly women—replied to those who shared photos of their grays with sweet messages like, “Your hair is so pretty, wow!!!!! ?” and “You do look fantastic????????.”

Gray hair is expected to be one of the biggest hair trends this year. Just saying.

Asia Argento Just Tweeted a Google Doc of Over 100 Harvey Weinstein Accusers

Following yet another bombshell Harvey Weinstein report published in The New Yorker—this one chronicling the producer’s alleged “army of spies” meant to silence sexual misconduct allegations—actress Asia Argento tweeted a Google document of over 100 women who have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment or assault on Tuesday afternoon.

The list spans more than three decades, with the first alleged incident dating back to 1980. A former employee named Paula Wachonak said she was harassed by Weinstein, who once “answered the door wearing nothing but a hand towel.” Among the 100+ stories, over a dozen alleged instances of rape are highlighted. The document makes note of women who reached settlements with the producer and notes, in some instances, how their experiences with Weinstein cost them their careers.

In an investigation published last month, Argento told The New Yorker about an alleged incident that occurred with Weinstein when she was 21. She had been invited to a hotel party on the French Riviera and attended, thinking it’d be a studio-wide celebration. When she arrived, she was greeted by only by Weinstein. The producer asked for a massage and after she hesitantly agreed, Weinstein then “pulled her skirt up, forced her legs apart, and performed oral sex on her as she repeatedly told him to stop.”

According to the latest report from The New Yorker, as Weinstein hired private investigators to track the women who planned to bring forward sexual harassment allegations, he contacted the actress to give testimony on his behalf. Argento ultimately refused to do so, and in a Tweet posted Tuesday she referenced being tracked by ex-Mossad agents.

Argento’s story is just one of numerous sexual misconduct allegations against Weinstein—a growing list that has now reached triple-digits. Sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood is nothing new , but the recently-released list further reinforces how pervasive this type of predatory behavior is—and how women will no longer stay silent to this deplorable conduct.

Ivanka Trump Once Tweeted in Support of an Undocumented Immigrant—and It's Coming Back to Bite Her

Ivanka Trump once tweeted in support of an undocumented immigrant who worked her way up to a Wall Street job—and in the wake of the president’s controversial DACA decision, Twitter isn’t letting her forget it.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump called for an end to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an Obama-era program protecting undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children from deportation. It didn’t take long for Twitter users to dredge up a 2015 tweet from Ivanka Trump linking to a list of what she’d been up to over the past week—including reading a Bloomberg article about Julissa Arce, an undocumented immigrant who became a Goldman Sachs star.

“We love this story about an undocumented immigrant who worked her way up on Wall Street,” the first daughter wrote at the time.

In re-sharing the 2015 tweet, people have been calling out Ivanka—who has said she tries to “stay out of politics”—for not speaking up in defense of DACA.

Arce, who shared a stage with Ivanka at the 2015 Forbes Women’s Summit, condemned Ivanka’s support for her father in an essay for CNN published in September of 2016.

“[Ivanka] had an incredible opportunity to stand up to racism and hate when her father announced his candidacy, yet she has failed to disavow the hateful rhetoric that we have heard time and again,” Arce wrote. Last month, Arce tweeted that she “wouldn’t have been able to contribute to this country” if Trump were president before she gained citizenship.

As news spread Monday about Trump’s impending DACA announcement, immigrants who had been protected under the program—who are known as “Dreamers”—held a candlelight vigil outside Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner‘s home. They carried signs with phrases such as “Ivanka and Jared, please protect Dreamers, keep DACA!”

Dreamers may have seen a glimmer of hope in Ivanka because she hasn’t always expressed the same anti-immigration sentiments as her father. In April, not long after Trump announced his travel ban, Ivanka said on NBC that the U.S. may need to let in more Syrian refugees. But when it comes to DACA, she hasn’t spoken up.

Arce addressed Ivanka’s silence in a Monday tweet, writing, “Before things got Political, @IvankaTrump loved my story. But now her silence says it all.”
