Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Taking Six Weeks Off for 'Family Time'


It’s been a crazy few months for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: They welcomed their first child together, set off for a 10-day tour of Africa, and even got into a painful legal battle with U.K. tabloids for “intrusive behavior” targeted at Markle. The media scrutiny has been a lot—so much, in fact, Markle recently opened up about what a toll it’s taken on her mental health. It makes sense they’d want to take a break and enjoy some time as a family, and a new source tells People the royal couple is planning just that.

The source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking at a six-week break from some of their royal engagements, time which they’ll split between the U.K. and the U.S. During that period, it’s expected that they’ll spend Thanksgiving in America, likely with Markle’s friends or family members. They’ll reportedly also go to California, so Archie spend some time bonding with Markle’s mom Doria Ragland.

“The duke and duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time,” the source said.

The news follows an emotional interview Markle gave for an upcoming documentary about the Sussex trip to Africa. Markle generated messages of support after an interviewer asked her how she’s doing amid all of the media attention she’s generated in the U.K.—a lot of it has been over-the-line and racially charged, following an ugly pattern that started back in 2016. (Prince Harry even issued a heated message, urging people to stop harassing her.) Markle shared how hard some of the negativity has been when she’s adjusting to huge new changes in her life.

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” Markle said. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um …yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Let’s hope a break is just what they need to reset after an intense schedule and period in the public eye.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott Are Reportedly 'Taking Some Time' Apart


One of the internet’s most talked about couples is no more—at least for now.

TMZ was the first to report that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are on a break from their relationship. “We’re told they’ve been trying to make the relationship work for a while, but several weeks ago they decided to step away,” TMZ reports.

“They are taking some time but not done,” a source told People. “They still have some trust issues but their problems have stemmed more from the stress of their lifestyles.”

The couple, who have been together for over two years, were first linked to each other publicly at a Coachella party in 2017 after Jenner’s breakup with Tyga. In February 2018, Jenner gave birth to their daughter, Stormi Webster—Scott’s given name is Jacques Berman Webster II—and received a $1.4 million Ferarri as a push present from her boyfriend.

Neither Jenner nor Scott have publicly confirmed the split, but Scott appeared to be absent from Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin‘s wedding festivities in South Carolina, where Kylie’s mom, Kris Jenner, and sister Kendall were also present.

Last December, Jenner and her sisters shut down fake rumors about Scott cheating. (They ended up being a prank.) “Idk if this is really a social experiment to some people but you’re messing with real people, real relationships, real family,” Jenner posted. “I’m happy my relationship is strong because this is getting out of hand. The Internet scares me sometimes for real.”

Jenner and Scott have not been seen together publicly since the August 28 premiere of the rapper’s Netflix documentary Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly. And he last appeared on Jenner’s Instagram with a teaser photo from their Playboy photo shoot on September 10.

TMZ notes this isn’t the first time they’ve taken a break and that co-parenting Stormi is the top priority—so we’ll probably just need to wait and see if this break turns into an actual a breakup.

Nathalie Emmanuel on Four Weddings and a Funeral, Working With Mindy Kaling, and Being Compared to Meghan Markle 'All the Time'


Nathalie: No, we haven’t. I mean, she’s a beautiful, talented woman. I would happily take the compliments.

Aside from ad-libbing that line, what other input did you have with your character?

Nathalie: Mindy and [showrunner and executive producer] Tracey Wigfield were so receptive to notes and opinions and supported my input to Maya. There were moments where I was like, “I think we need to do this element of it more or this element of it less,” and they were really receptive. For instance, [in one scene] Maya wakes up and has her hair wrapped in a silk scarf. That’s something I do every single night. Any natural hair girl, or black people with black hair, are going to wrap their hair at night, so that was really important to me to show that.

Those details are so important. This Is Us had a moment last season with Melanie Liburd’s character (Zoe) and how she needs to sleep on a silk pillowcase for her hair.

Nathalie: I love Melanie! Anybody with textured hair knows a cotton pillowcase is going to dry your hair out. So if I don’t have a silk pillowcase, I always have a silk scarf. That way at least my hair is covered.

You’ve been busy the last few years, but what’s on your wish list going forward?

Nathalie: My wish list is to try different things and try my hand at as many different projects as possible. I try not to limit myself. It’s really about the challenge. Four Weddings is no exception. It’s so far removed from anything I’ve done before. I had the challenge of doing the accent and having much more responsibility in a role than I’d had before. Going forward, my passion is moving toward making my own stuff and hopefully acting in them too. I’ve done these big, monstrous-sized pieces—like Game of Thrones, Fast and Furious, all of that—but I’m always looking for those much more grounded, dramatic roles. That’s not something I’ve really done yet, and I’m excited to do next.

And for those who haven’t seen you in fast-paced, action roles, Four Weddings will introduce you to a new audience.

Nathalie: This is my first kind of lead role, and it’s much scarier when these things come out. When I’m involved in Game of Thrones and Fast and Furious, I’m very much a supporting role in a big, well-established thing. When you’re at the forefront of something, you feel much more exposed and vulnerable. But it’s great…it’s these things you should do to face the fear and take the reigns. I’m excited for people to see it because we poured so much love into it and so much light. It was such a joy to shoot.

Serena Williams Calls Roger Federer the 'Greatest of All Time' After Historic Tennis Match


Tennis champions Serena Williams and Roger Federer faced off for the first time during a historic doubles match at the Hopman Cup in Australia on Tuesday. Even though Federer emerged the victor from the New Year’s Day match, Williams’ graceful reaction proved exactly why she’s still the GOAT.

The 23-time Grand Slam title holder was all smiles after she and her partner Francis Tiafoe played Federer and his teammate Belinda Bencic. In moments after the match and in a subsequent interview with the two players, it’s clear the tennis greats are friendly: Williams praised Federer and shared how excited she was to get the chance to compete against him.

“It was a great experience. I’m kind of sad it’s over—you know, I was just warming up,” she joked. “We grew up together, really, and having an opportunity, after all these years, we’ve actually never done this, and so this was super cool that we got to do this at such a pinnacle point in both our careers. For me, it was super cool. I literally wanted to take pictures and bring my baby out. I was way too excited.”

“The guy is great, he’s the greatest of all time to be honest. Both on the court and off the court. He has such charisma and is a wonderful player,” she continued.

Federer had a lot to say about Williams as well: “I was nervous returning because you just don’t know. People talk about her serve so much, and I see why it’s such a wonderful serve because you just can’t read it,” he said before Williams’ cut in with, “I can’t read yours either!”

“We have the same qualities,” Federer offered with a laugh.

Williams spent a lot of her 2018 making huge strides for women athletes by speaking about sexism, sharing candid stories about motherhood, and even—successfully—challenging the rules of fashion in tennis. It’s great to see she’s starting her 2019 in true sportsmanlike style.

Donald Trump and His Son Think the #MeToo Era Is 'a Very Scary Time' for Men in America


As women rally and mobilize around survivors of sexual assault, and coming in a week that will see the one-year anniversary of the #MeToo Harvey Weinstein allegations, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he’s highly concerned for the safety of America’s young men as he answered questions about the FBI inquiry into his Supreme Court pick, Brett Kavanaugh.

While en route to board Marine One, NBC National Correspondent Peter Alexander asked the president what message he had for both young men and women in America right now.

“Well, I’d say that it’s a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something you may not be guilty of,” Trump very quickly replied. “This is a very difficult time. What’s happening here has much more to do than even the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice. You could be somebody who was perfect your entire life and somebody could accuse you of something. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a woman, as everybody says, but somebody could accuse you of something and you’re automatically guilty. But in this realm, you’re truly guilty until proven innocent. That’s one of the very very bad things that’s taking place right now.”

According to a White House pool report, filed by Hunter Walker of Yahoo! News, Trump was then asked if he had a message for young women. Trump reportedly replied, “Women are doing great.”

Trump’s comments came just one day after a similar question was asked by the Daily Mail to his son, Donald Trump Jr.

“I’ve got boys, and I’ve got girls. And when I see what’s going on right now, it’s scary,” he told the outlet. When pressed on who he was more frightened for, he replied, “Right now, I’d say my sons.”

“For the people who are real victims of these things, when it is so obviously political in cases like this, it really diminishes the real claims.”

It should be noted that false reports count for between 2 and 10 percent of sexual assault allegations, according to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. A sexual assault occurs every 98 seconds, and 90 percent of adult rape victims are female. In total, one out of every six American women has been the victim of sexual assault or rape in her lifetime.

It shouldn’t be surprising that Trump and his son would side with the accused, especially when you consider that 20 women have come forward with allegations that the president engaged in sexual misconduct.

But, it doesn’t make it any less shocking, especially when the numbers prove them wrong.

Colton Underwood Admits He Wanted Tia Booth to Be The Bachelorette: 'We Needed More Time'


The Bachelorette‘s Colton Underwood had one of the more emotional moments on tonight’s Men Tell All, with the focus less on his feelings for former contestant Tia and more about his decision not to have sex. “People think I’m less of a man because I haven’t had sex, and that’s hard for me to hear,” he said as he teared up. “I feel like a normal guy, so it’s hard when you hear all the negative things. It’s my choice and hopefully it’s something that’s respected from women and in the public.”

After the show taped, it was clear that Underwood was still affected by what happened on stage—especially because of a comment fellow contestant Jean Blanc made about Underwood’s virginity. “I will never talk to him again,” Underwood tells us. “His comment was disgusting and uncalled for.”

But with his journey about to continue on Bachelor in Paradise, there’s obviously more drama in store for the former football player. After all, his former fling Tia Booth will joining him in Mexico. “It’s emotional,” he says of the experience. “It’s full of unexpected surprises.”

Things got emotional on Men Tell All tonight. How do you feel now that it’s over?

Colton Underwood: I still obviously feel a little emotional. I didn’t have plans to talk about my virginity because I feel like it was played out and it’s been a hot topic for the last couple weeks. [My virginity is] never easy to talk about, but anytime I do, it helps me grow as a person. So, I do feel good about that. It was hard for me to even bring it up at first on the show. I kept beating around the bush by saying I’m not that experienced. Now I can finally say, “I’m a virgin. I haven’t had sex” without a tremble in my voice.

Before you filmed the season, did you know this was going to become a topic of conversation?

Colton: I didn’t have a game plan with my virginity going into the show. I didn’t know if I was going to bring it up. When I did bring it up in the Bahamas, I wanted to make sure that [Becca] knew before she made her decision on whose family she wanted to meet. As hard as that conversation was, it was so good for me to actually say it out loud and go from six people to now six million people knowing it. People can agree or disagree with me, but hopefully some of them have a respect for me and my choice.

You and Jean Blanc had a tense moment during Men Tell All after he insulted your virginity. Did you address him after?

Colton: Jean Blanc is one of the guys that I never talked to after the show and, moving forward, I will never talk to. I think his comment was disgusting and uncalled for. It was so inappropriate in 2018—in the year of the women—and [he’s] going to be disrespectful to a whole gender? He’s going to use that word to describe the female anatomy and to call me out? And think he’s doing something positive [by saying that]? It is what it is, but I’m never going to talk to the dude again, so I don’t care.

Moving on: Was there any part of you that had hoped Tia would be the Bachelorette?

Colton: I’m not going to lie, yeah. The one thing that hindered Tia and I’s relationship and played a factor into it…it was hard for me to get a read off of that weekend that we spent together, whether we could be good for each other. She was going back to Arkansas, and I was going back to Colorado. We needed more time. I needed more time in that relationship to see [where things could go]. I was very up and front and honest, like, “I hope it’s you. I’m just letting you know I’m going on.” She knew from day two of us talking that I was a finalist for the show, and I said how cool would it be [if it was Tia]. When I found out it was Becca, [Tia] said, “Becca’s a great person, and I can’t wait for you to see your journey and hear about your experience. I’m so jealous. That’s awesome. You’re going to be with my friends.” That was it. It was very supportive. Tia and I’s relationship moved more into a friendship those last two weeks leading up to me leaving for filming.

You’ll be on Bachelor in Paradise with Tia. How did that go?

Colton: Paradise is emotional. I think there’s a lot of conversations that need to be had. It’s full of unexpected surprises that are both good, happy, sad, funny, all the emotions. I felt everything in Paradise.
