Colton Underwood Says He Asked Simone Biles for Advice After His Breakup With Aly Raisman

Former Bachelor star Colton Underwood has a new book out, and he’s letting people in on his personal life even more than he did on reality TV.

In The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV, he writes about his experiences on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise, but also his non-televised relationships, like the one he had with Olympic gymnastics star Aly Raisman a few years back.

“Aly was easy to talk to. She was open, funny, bright, honest, and inquisitive. She laughed easily and had a smile that I would’ve been happy to simply gaze at for the rest of the night, no further conversation necessary,” he wrote in his book, per Us Weekly. Of their first dates, he said, “It was very late when I dropped her back at her hotel, and when I said I’d had a great time, I meant it. Later that night, Aly texted me a thank-you. Neither of us had expected to get on as well as we did. For a first date, it couldn’t have gone better.” Sadly, their relationship didn’t last.

When the couple broke up, Underwood reached out to Raisman’s friend and fellow gymnast Simone Biles for advice. “I pulled over to the side of the road, stunned and unable to comprehend this was happening,” he wrote of their FaceTime split. “Aly said she felt overwhelmed, confused, and in need of a break. Afterward, I sat in my car and cried. I was numb for days.” After not hearing back from Raisman via text, he says he got in touch with Biles “hoping she could offer an explanation or insight.” Alas, she could not. He says he is now a “better and wiser man” because of their relationship and also reveals he promised not to speak about her on The Bachelorette.

Colton Underwood is currently dating Cassie Randolph, whom he met on his Bachelor season. Here’s hoping everyone involved is in a better place now.

Kelly Clarkson's Response to Rumors She's Feuding With Carrie Underwood Is So Perfect

Kelly Clarkson‘s Twitter is one of the greatest things on the Internet. The American Idol OG’s clapbacks and anecdotes are simply unparalleled. Exhibit A: Last week, when she revealed a man thought she was a seat-filler at the Academy of Country Music Awards. “Literally, it made my night because he was so serious, and I just politely said no,” she tweeted alongside several laughing emojis, effectively winning the Internet for the day.

And she just did it again with a new message about Carrie Underwood. A tabloid published a report this week alleging these two music titans are feuding. It’s not true, obviously, and Clarkson confirmed as much with a hilarious tweet.

The “Since U Been Gone” singer posted the magazine cover in question, which Photoshopped an image of Clarkson looking angry next to one of Underwood, and captioned it, “Someone just sent me this & I’m like why does she get the good pic & I have the worst expression I’ve ever made w/zero muscles being used in my face ha! I officially have a feud w/whoever used this pic! At least give me a good pic if y’all are gonna be lying is all I’m sayin.”

Check it out for yourself, below.

And here’s the tweet about the seat-filler incident, in case you’re curious:

“The greatest thing by far that happened to me tonight was being asked to move because some guy thought I was a seat filler at the ACM’s tonight,” she wrote specifically about that incident.

Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are both successful, busy legends. They don’t have time for silly feuds. And neither do I, for that matter. Cheers to Clarkson for being such an excellent sport about this kind of nonsense. Now excuse me while I listen to her Breakaway album on repeat.

Carrie Underwood Just Slammed the Idea of 'Bouncing Back' After Having a Baby

Even in 2019, women—especially women in the public eye—face pressure to “bounce back” after giving birth. But Carrie Underwood is rebuking this idea entirely. In a new Instagram message posted on Tuesday, March 19, the country singer (who welcomed her second child, Jacob, this past January) shared her newfound perspective on what it means to have a “post-baby body.”

“I’m going to be honest, ‘bouncing back’ after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately,” Underwood wrote. “I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again… for my body to feel the way that I know it can.”

The Grammy winner then turned the idea of “bouncing back” on its head. Rather than dwelling on her frustration, Underwood is making a vow to embrace her body in all its iterations. “As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me,” she continued. “It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t.”

Moms, naturally, are living for Underwood’s message. “More people should post about the reality of bouncing back. It isn’t talked about enough,” one woman commented. “All us mamas need to give ourselves some grace,” replied another.

“I had a baby boy 10 months ago & it’s a struggle every day,” a third mom wrote in the Instagram comments section. “Our bodies are amazing. I do not regret how I look now knowing I have carried a beautiful life inside me.”

Check out some more responses to Underwood’s post, below:

This isn’t the first time Carrie Underwood has opened up about motherhood and pregnancy. She tweeted about how annoying pregnancy insomnia is back in December, hilariously commenting, “Go bother dads.” She also tearfully shared how she and her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, experienced three miscarriages back-to-back.

The Bachelor Colton Underwood Has a Lot to Say About Cassie and That Fence Jump

Heads up: Spoilers for the most recent episode of The Bachelor are ahead.

“Holy f–k, he’s gone,” is most likely something Chris Harrison never thought he’d say on this—or any—season of The Bachelor. Actually, Colton, a franchise staple since last spring, probably didn’t think he’d run off into the Portuguese countryside looking to escape the cameras either. But love on reality TV will do that to you—especially when it’s not reciprocated.

Love him or leave him, you couldn’t help but feel sorry for the fence-jumping former football player when he poured his heart out to Cassie, only to have her admit she’s not “in love” with him and doesn’t think she can get there. The whole thing is a mess, so it’s no wonder Colton felt like his only option was to hop a fence and go rogue.

But what about Tayshia and Hannah G.? Will Colton—who’s said he wants to be engaged from day one—propose to either of them? Or will he try to get Cassie back before she heads home to the states? With a week to go before we get those answers, Colton sat down with Glamour to talk about the details of the fence jump, and whether he wishes he would have listened to all those warning signs. “You haven’t even seen it all yet,” he teases.

OK, we must talk about the fence before anything else. Did you get splinters? How did you know you could even make it over?

Colton Underwood: It was metal, so I didn’t get splinters. To be honest, I wasn’t even thinking about not making it over. It was the last thing on my mind. I’m just very happy I stuck the landing and didn’t fall ungracefully over it. I’m very happy about how the actual performance of the jump went. [Laughs]

Did you hurt yourself at all? And how long after you jumped over the gate did the producers find you?

Colton: I didn’t hurt myself. And I was gone for quite a bit. Hours.

Do you regret scaring Chris and the producers by disappearing for so long?

Colton: No, I think in that moment I needed time to myself. I needed to sit and process everything. You guys don’t get to see too much behind the scenes, but you’re always sort of around producers and TVs. You’re always talking to somebody, so to have space, to have time to yourself, was much needed in that moment.

You don’t like talking about regrets—but now that we know what happens with Cassie, do you wish you had listened more to Katie and Kirpa?

Colton: No, because those two aren’t in the relationship with Cassie [and me]. You can only speak from your experiences, and it was a lot of she said/she said and I heard it from this, I heard it from that…no one actually heard it. I think one thing I realized is I have to follow my heart and trust my gut and think, how does this person make me feel? I didn’t see any red flags in any of my relationships. I really didn’t.

But do you understand why some viewers might be angry with Cassie for getting to this point and then saying she’s not ready? Especially because you’ve said it was your biggest fear all along.

Colton: Yeah, I think everybody goes through this in their own way. There’s no right way to really do this. I could see why people’s opinions are probably going to be like, “So why did you say you didn’t say that when you weren’t really there?” I think that’s what was probably most frustrating about that night for me too—putting my heart out there and breaking every unwritten Bachelor rule that there is of laying it all out there and fighting for somebody. It was tough.

Colton Underwood Says the 'Bachelor' Finale Will Be Unlike Anything You've Ever Seen

CU: I was really attracted to her presence and how she makes me feel. And what she gets out of me. There’s a level of comfort there that you can only wish and hope for. That’s what I found.

ABC

Glamour: By the way, what happened to Kirpa’s chin? Much like Elyse’s earrings, she didn’t have a bandage on her chin at one moment, and the next she did.

CU: She was having a producer take a picture for Instagram, and she slipped on a rock and busted her chin open. She’s so funny; she said, “Thailand’s fucked me up!” [Laughs.] It was so funny in the deleted scene.

Glamour: The finale will air over two nights on March 11 and 12, so what can you tell us about these next few weeks?

CU: As far as the finale, when you think you’ve seen it all, you haven’t. It’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen. I’m interested to see what people think. I really am.

Glamour: What on earth does that mean? [Laughs.] I feel like we’ve seen it all.

CU: You’re in for a good one. [Actually], you’re in for a great one. Dare I say it be the most dramatic finale of all time….

Glamour: So, since everything will be out in the open next month, what are you most excited about in regard to people knowing what happens?

CU: I’m most excited about going to a restaurant and eating a normal dinner. I mean…

Glamour: With another person? Otherwise why can’t you do that now?

CU: I mean, I don’t really go out now because I like to keep my privacy. I’m not trying to be rude, but while the show is airing, I just don’t want to be questioned, so I stay at home right now. I can’t wait to go back out.

Glamour: But people are still going to mob you and have questions once the show is over. That won’t stop.

CU: Correct. But at least at that point it doesn’t make me look like a bad guy. I just don’t like saying no to people [when they come up to me with questions], but they respect it, because they know I don’t want to spoil the show.

Glamour: Finally, we’ve seen plenty of past Bachelors or Bachelorettes say they’re either engaged or they’ve fallen in love while the show is still airing, but you have not said that.

CU: Nope.

Glamour: Was that something that you or ABC decided not to say?

CU: I wanted it that way. I think, for me, especially for how everything ends and goes down, it’s important that the audience goes on this roller coaster with me. There were a lot of ups and downs throughout all of this, but especially toward the end. I think keeping that as raw and true and organic and vulnerable to everybody is really important.

Caelynn Miller-Keyes on Colton Underwood and Her *Bachelor* Experience

Caelynn Miller-Keyes wasn’t sure she liked Colton Underwood at first. “I think [I was asked what I thought] the day after Bachelor in Paradise aired, and I said, ‘Uh, not really into him. I think he’s kind of a jerk,'” she told Glamour a few weeks before The Bachelor premiered. As the season progressed, though, her opinion changed, and she was able to open up to him about serious, more personal issues—like in tonight’s episode. In a watershed Bachelor moment, Caelynn revealed on her one-on-one date that she was sexually assaulted. “It’s the most difficult thing in the world,” she told him. “It’s affected every single person in my life. It’s so painful.”

People magazine published the story about Caelynn’s reveal before the episode aired. “My life was flipped upside down,” she tells the magazine. “And even though I’ve moved on, it is something I will struggle with forever.”

The incident happened during Caelynn’s sophomore year of college at a party. “These situations happen when you’re safe,” she tells People. “They don’t necessarily happen when you’re walking down a dark alley. It’s when you’re comfortable and when you let your guard down.”

Viewers took to Twitter in droves and commended Caelynn for speaking out—as did Colton on their actual date. “He’s a really great guy, and he’s really grown on me,” Caelynn tells Glamour.

Caelynn, who is the reigning Miss North Carolina, was the first girl Colton kissed in the house, and they’ve had a deep connection ever since. Of course, this only grew during tonight’s episode. She says she did “extensive research” on Colton beforehand and was drawn to his philanthropic efforts. “I was hospitalized as a child and given a 10% chance of ever walking again, and I love that he works with children’s hospitals,” she says.

As she advances further and further into this competition, Caelynn admits she’s worried about heartbreak, but she’s optimistic. “I’ve had a lot of heartbreak in my life, so I would hate for that to happen again, but [you have to put] yourself out there,” she says.
