Camila Cabello Stole a Pencil From Kensington Palace on a Dare

Camila Cabello recently took a trip across the pond for an event at Kensington Palace, hosted by none other than Kate Middleton and Prince William themselves. The singer was there to celebrate the finalists of BBC Radio’s Teen Awards, which shine “a light on some of the UK’s most inspirational teens” according to the royals’ Instagram post.

It all sounds very lovely, but thanks to a new interview Cabello did with BBC Radio’s Greg James, who was also on hand at the event, we know there were some shenanigans going on. “Last time I saw you we were at the palace, don’t tell anyone what my mother and I did,” Cabello says, which of course James proceeds to do. He says they were about to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, when he dared the singer to steal something and suggested a nearby pencil.

“I was like, [do] you triple-doggy dare me?” Cabello said. He did, so she snagged the pencil and stashed it in her mom’s purse. “And then you to one of the palace people called me out on it. You were like, ‘She stole a pencil!'”

At least one person present suggested Cabello shouldn’t take the dare. “My mum was like ‘No, we have to give it back, we have to give back the pencil’ and I was like ‘No, he tripled-doggy-dared me, I have to take the pencil,’ so I still have it. I’m sorry William and I’m sorry Kate,” she said. “I honestly couldn’t sleep last night, I had to get it off my chest.”

News of Cabello’s secret pencil thievery made its way to the royals after BBC Radio tweeted out a clip of the interview and tagged their handle, @KensingtonRoyal. Their response? A simple “?” emoji.

We love cheeky royals with a sense of humor, but now we really need Cabello to share a photo of that pencil.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Allegedly Stole Their New Instagram Handle, and I’m Living for the Drama

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are many things: philanthropists, activists, roast-chicken eaters. But they’re also, according to a new report from the BBC, a couple of thieves. Yup, you read that correctly. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are apparently out here stealing Instagram handles from civilians.

What am I talking about, you ask? Well, let me take you back to earlier this week, when the couple launched their own Instagram account, @sussexroyal. It’s been active for only three days, and yet it’s amassed nearly 4 million followers. That’s a lot of people wanting to see photos of Markle smiling and waving.

But Page Six reports a @sussexroyal account already existed. A driving instructor from the English county of West Sussex, Kevin Keiley, claims that was the name of his IG for three years. No, this isn’t a Kensington Palace family member you don’t know about: Keiley had that handle because of where he lives and his favorite soccer team, Reading FC, which is nicknamed the Royals.

“I got a jokey text from my son, which said, ‘Ha ha, I see your handle has gone then,’” Keiley told BBC’s Radio 1 Newsbeat. “I thought, What’s that all about? He said, ‘Look on Instagram,’ so I looked on Instagram and suddenly my handle wasn’t @sussexroyal anymore. It was @sussexroyal. It had been taken.”

Taken, he says. The queen needs to launch an investigation immediately. Call Liam Neeson! Call Kris Jenner! Ryan Murphy, I’ve found the next true-crime story you should adapt for Netflix.

Keiley says he was “annoyed” no one from the royal family or Instagram reached out about taking his handle. “I didn’t ask for this,” he says. “I’ve had the account for years. It’s not very pleasant.”

For what it’s worth, Instagram did cop to scooping up the name, citing a policy that permits them to make changes to inactive accounts. (Keiley didn’t post much to Instagram prior to this incident.)

Here’s my question: Are Markle and Prince Harry even aware they took this man’s Instagram handle? How did they find out? Given Markle’s preroyal affinity for social media—RIP, The Tig—she seems like the one who would step in with an explanation. She should call Keiley and be like, “We’re so sorry for taking your Instagram handle; here are 3,000 loaves of homemade banana bread as an apology.” This man lost something near and dear to him, after all. He needs answers, as do I.

The plus side to all of this? Keiley’s Twitter following has grown exponentially: from four to more than 200. We love an influencer on the rise.

Princess Charlotte and Prince George Stole the Show at Princess Eugenie's Royal Wedding

The second royal wedding of the year is officially underway. Yes, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Friday, October 12 in front of a hodgepodge of celebrity guests, like Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, and Naomi Campbell. The royal family was also in attendance, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—who said “I do” at St. George’s Chapel back in May—plus Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, a.k.a the true stars of the day.

Obsessed with the Royals? Same. Click here to get Meghan Markle updates—and more—from Glamour’s daily newsletter.

Seriously, these kids stole the show at Princess Eugenie’s wedding. Prince George was a pageboy during the ceremony, while Princess Charlotte was a bridesmaid, and they took their duties very seriously (read: adorably). The photos of the two of them at the wedding will explain this better than I ever could, so go ahead and check them out, below:

Princess Charlotte already has her royal wave down to an art.

Here it is in GIF form, which will no-doubt become a reaction meme by 2 P.M. today.

Entertainment Tonight posted a video of all the bridesmaids and pageboys entering the service. Look how excited Princess Charlotte and Prince George are!

I wonder why Prince George was so shocked in this pic? What tea does he have to spill?

Princess Eugenie looked absolutely stunning at her wedding, wearing a Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos gown. The dress featured a V-neck back, which Princess Eugenie wanted to wear to show the scars from her childhood scoliosis operation. “I’m patron of [the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Appeal] and I had an operation when I was 12 on my back,” she told ITV. “[The dress is] a lovely way to honor the people who looked after me and a way of standing up for young people who also go through this.”

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Savannah Phillips Completely Stole the Show at Trooping the Color

The Queen of England’s public birthday celebration, Trooping the Color, has everything a royal-watcher could ask for: high fashion on our two favorite duchesses, handsome princes in uniform, copious amounts of royal waving, and tiny royals doing delightful little-kid things from the regal Buckingham Palace balcony. Speaking of, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, along with cousins Savannah and Isla Phillips (daughters of Princess Anne’s son Peter), totally stole the show when the royal family gathered at Buckingham Palace to watch the military flyover. (Prince Louis was not in attendance, unfortunately.)

It’s partly thanks to what might just be this year’s best GIF. Savannah’s shushing of Prince George—complete with a no-nonsense face to beat them all—went viral.

And she quickly got some new Twitter fans:

Of course, Gary Janetti, whose Instagram posts about Prince George have become a bit of an Internet sensation themselves, weighed in with a two-part ‘gram.

Overall, the royal children seemed to have a blast—look at those excited faces.

But the excitement might have been too much for one of the junior royals: Princess Charlotte had a classic toddler tantrum at one point. Luckily, Kate was right there to comfort her through her tears.

Today’s festivities might have been new for Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex—this was her first such occasion—but not so much for Prince Harry and Prince William. They’ve had their share of silly moments on the balcony over the years, as seen here at Trooping the Color in 1988 and 1989.

Here’s 1988:

It’s all just further proof that no matter whether they’re royal or not, kids are always gonna kid.

Kate Middleton Just Stole the (Royal Variety) Show in This Icy Blue Gown

Kate Middleton has rightfully been a style icon ever since she stunned the world with her iconic Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown in 2011. She and stylist Natasha Archer are collectively genius at incorporating looks from the high street (that’s British for “stores we normal people shop at”) into her wardrobe, leaving us #blessed with outfit inspiration courtesy of favorites like L.K. Bennett, Zara, and J.Crew. But one thing she’s always been incredible at? Getting dressed up to the nines—we’re talking glittery, gorgeous gowns that are truly fit for a princess.

On Friday night, Middleton and Prince William attended the Royal Variety Performance in London where she made a statement in a gown one of her go-to designers, Jenny Packham. She walked the red carpet in an icy blue, floor-length dress that makes her look exactly like a certain Disney princess from Frozen.

The gown’s entire sheer blue overlay is embellished with silver and blue sequins and transparent floral beads. Kate paired it with a pair of silver heels to match. Take a look at the whole ensemble—gorgeous, no?

Here’s a closer look:

We’ve seen this color on her before—she seems to keep it in rotation in her wardrobe, and she looks fantastic each time. She wore a similar shade of silvery blue, this time with a lace overlay, back in October for her first appearance after announcing her third pregnancy. This latest evening-wear pick, however, also reminds us almost exactly of a very Blair Waldorf look she had going earlier this year in March during a visit to Paris. Also by Jenny Packham, her Paris gown shared the icy blue, sheer neckline, shimmery embellishment of her most recent dress—although the latter was definitely the most glam out of the two.

After all, when you know what you like, stick with it—and that guidance definitely extends to royalty, too.
