Madison Prewett Says She ‘Never Cried Harder in Her Life’ Than After Her Confrontation With Barb Weber

On April 21, news broke that Madison Prewett revealed Bachelor Peter Weber asked her to get back together just days before he was spotted with ex-contestant Kelley Flanagan. Obviously, this was a huge bombshell.

“He was, like, calling me and texting me being like, ‘I miss you, let’s get back together,’” Prewett told Kaitlyn Bristowe on her Off the Vine podcast, according to Us Weekly. “I mean, I think that to me was a little confusing, but I think, like, when you break up and you’re going through a heartbreak and you just came off a show that was emotionally, physically, and [every] which way exhausting, everybody handles that differently. Everybody leans on different things.” She added that it felt like a personal jab when the photos of Weber and Flanagan came out on her birthday.

Weber swiftly replied to Prewett’s comments. “You’d think you’d have a little more respect for this situation given we both know there’s more to the story,” Weber wrote in an Instagram comment, tagging Prewett.

This isn’t the only controversial Bachelor moment Prewett touched on during her interview with Bristowe. She also had a lot to say about the infamous showdown between her and Weber’s mom, Barb, during the “After the Final Rose” special. The couple, as you know, broke up just days later after a “super sad” six-hour conversation.

Now Prewett is finally ready to talk about how she felt in that moment during the live show with Barb. “I wish that I would have just apologized and been apologetic in that moment,” Prewett admitted to Bristowe, per Us Weekly. “I think I was so taken back and I was so hurt by the things that were being said to me in this time that was so beautiful for me and Peter.”

Prewett added that they had “overcome so much” and were “trying to fight so hard” for their relationship at the time. “For that opportunity to kind of be taken from the both of us…for that to be the ending of the season, I mean, I walked off that stage and I had never cried harder in my life,” she said.

Who knows if we’ll hear from Barb about all this in the days to come, but I hope the group can finally put this all behind them.

Peter Weber and Madison Prewett's Breakup Wouldn't Be Complete Without Shade From Barb

Yes, Peter Weber and Madison Prewett broke up just days after announcing their relationship during The Bachelor live finale, but did his mom, Barb, have to rub it in?

“Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” He wrote in an Instagram caption on Friday, March 13. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Prewett also took to the platform to address the split. “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things,” she wrote. “I will always love and respect him,” she wrote. “I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.”

But these two weren’t only ones hitting up the ‘gram today. Peter’s mom, Barbara Weber—who repeatedly expressed disdain for Peter’s final choice on live, national television—also posted a cryptic, shady post on social media. In the video, Barb sings John Denver’s “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” with two of her friends. “Love you guys,” she captioned the post.

After telling host Chris Harrison, in no uncertain terms, that “[Peter] has to fail to succeed,” and that “all his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it’s not going to work,” Barb doubled-down on her views after the cameras stopped rolling. “There’s nothing for me to apologize for,” she told Life & Style on March 12.

Barb may have gotten exactly what she wanted, but Harrison has since described her relationship with Peter as “damaged” in a candid interview with Glamour. It looks like there were no real winners here. Except for, maybe, Hannah Ann.

'Stranger Things' Executive Producer Confirms Barb Isn't Alive

If you’ve noticed an unusually high number of people calling in “sick” from your office today, we know why: They’re all staying home to binge-watch season two of Netflix’s Stranger Things. No, really, it’s a whole thing. But it’s actually worth the risk of annoying the boss because the show’s return does answer lots of lingering questions fans have been speculating about since finishing season one last summer.

People are still wondering about one particular storyline, though: The fate of beloved character Barb, played by Shannon Purser. Many theorized she was—spoiler alert—still alive and would make it out of the Upside Down, and they had pretty convincing evidence to back the idea up. But unfortunately, Justice for Barb isn’t going to happen. Ever.

“The theory that Barb was alive got annoying,” the show’s executive producer Shawn Levy told us at the Stranger Things premiere in Los Angeles Thursday night. “That seemed a little delusional. I love Barb, I’m the one that killed her in the swimming pool, but that was never going to happen.” In fact, Levy said he wants to finally, once and for all, make it clear that Barb will not be returning in future seasons. Sorry, Barb!

That’s not the only fan theory that’s turned out to be wrong, though. “People were really obsessed with what that black car was that Hopper got in,” he said. “I’m hopeful that season two gives some clarity to the fact that he basically did a deal with the Hawkins feds to keep his mouth shut, cover their tracks, and basically keep Eleven safe. Hopefully, that’s been answered.”

But what about the idea that this could all be a dream of Eleven’s? “Oh, that’s madness and completely untrue,” he said. “I mean it. When I was a fan of Lost, people guessed at the purgatory outcome and then they said, ‘No, no, no.’ But then it kind of was! So, we’re not bullshitting here. This is not a dream of any character’s. This is for real.”

We Finally Have Closure About Why Barb Had to Die in 'Stranger Things'

Stranger Things season two is set to premiere on Netflix on October 27, but one beloved character will be missing: high school student Barbara Holland, AKA the inimitable Barb. Of course, we’ve known this for a while—she was killed in season one by The Monster/Demogorgon in the Upside Down pool—but that doesn’t make our grief less real. But even though she’s gone, the Internet was captivated by her, falling for her epic eye roll, coke-bottle glasses, and her loyalty to her best friend, Nancy Wheeler. (Jimmy Fallon even spoofed her death on The Tonight Show.) But we still need closure—namely, why did she have to die in the first place??

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays compass genius Dustin Henderson, shed some light on the matter Saturday night at the BAFTA pre-Emmy tea party.

“She has passed. She is dead,” Matarazzo told Elle in no uncertain terms. “The character was written to die.”

Ah. He went on to explain that the point of Barb’s character was merely to illuminate how vulnerable everyone actually was to the Upside Down and the Demogorgon.

Matarazzo continued: “That was what the character was, and I think that bringing her back would kind of defeat the purpose.”

Barb’s fate is certainly unfortunate, but Matarazzo did reveal some good news. Her mysterious disappearance hasn’t been forgotten by himself, Will, Mike, Eleven, her best friend Nancy, and the rest of the crew. He also reiterated to fans that there will be #JusticeForBarb in the show’s second season—a plot point that will delve into her backstory.

Although we will sadly never get to relate to Barb’s social awkwardness and third-wheeling tendencies ever again, she will live forever in our hearts, the hashtag, and perfect Halloween costumes for years to come.
