Peter Weber and Madison Prewett's Breakup Wouldn't Be Complete Without Shade From Barb

Yes, Peter Weber and Madison Prewett broke up just days after announcing their relationship during The Bachelor live finale, but did his mom, Barb, have to rub it in?

“Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” He wrote in an Instagram caption on Friday, March 13. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Prewett also took to the platform to address the split. “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things,” she wrote. “I will always love and respect him,” she wrote. “I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.”

But these two weren’t only ones hitting up the ‘gram today. Peter’s mom, Barbara Weber—who repeatedly expressed disdain for Peter’s final choice on live, national television—also posted a cryptic, shady post on social media. In the video, Barb sings John Denver’s “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” with two of her friends. “Love you guys,” she captioned the post.

After telling host Chris Harrison, in no uncertain terms, that “[Peter] has to fail to succeed,” and that “all his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it’s not going to work,” Barb doubled-down on her views after the cameras stopped rolling. “There’s nothing for me to apologize for,” she told Life & Style on March 12.

Barb may have gotten exactly what she wanted, but Harrison has since described her relationship with Peter as “damaged” in a candid interview with Glamour. It looks like there were no real winners here. Except for, maybe, Hannah Ann.

A Bride Asked Her Maid of Honor to Postpone Breast Implants So She Wouldn't Outshine Her at the Wedding

You’ve heard of not wearing white to a wedding so as not to upstage the bride, but what about not wearing your, ahem, assets? One maid of honor was forced to consider just that after being asked by the bride to postpone a scheduled breast enhancement surgery.

The angry MOH took to Reddit’s Bridezilla forum, first spotted by Yahoo, to vent about her experience last month.

Though she had been been looking forward to her procedure, which is set for the end of May, the woman wrote that the bride “isn’t very happy about it.”

In fact, she asked if she would consider holding off until after her September wedding. “She said she wants to be the hottest one in her wedding party, and I may overshadow her with my new boobs,” the MOH wrote.

What’s more, the bride doesn’t seem willing to compromise—at all. “I said if it bothers her so much, I will wear something not revealing and will not flash my boobs in front of everyone,” the woman explained. “She looked hurt and heartbroken, said a cold goodbye and left.”

The MOH went on to say that the bride, whom she’s been friends with since kindergarten, had also shunned another attractive friend when it came time to choose her bridal party, opting to include the groom’s sisters, whom she once referred to as “land whales,” instead. (NOT COOL.)

“She picked people she thinks are less sexy than her and somehow I ended up on this list,” the MOH surmised. “She doesn’t want me to get hotter, either. I don’t know how to feel.”

Needless to say, the comments came pouring in, with many advising the woman to go through with her plans for new breasts and ditch her so-called pal.

“Your boobs mean a LOT more for your life than the bride’s single day,” one reasoned, with another adding, “Friends come and go, great boob jobs are forever.”

Even those who admitted to relating to the bride’s desire to be the star of the show agreed that her request was not that of a true bestie. “She’s not being a friend to anyone, and clearly doesn’t respect any of you,” a commenter advised.

The ultimate verdict from the peanut gallery? “Have the surgery, quit the bridal party.”

Chris Noth Says Mr. Big Wouldn't Have Died in 'Sex and the City 3'

Chris Noth just put an end to the rumor that Mr. Big would’ve died in Sex and the City 3. That story, if you’re unfamiliar, came from the podcast Origins, which is currently doing a deep-dive into SATC. In one of the episodes, host James Andrew Miller reports people in Kim Cattrall’s inner circle were certain she’d never do a third movie, partially because of a reported storyline that has Mr. Big dying of a heart attack and Carrie Bradshaw grieving his loss.

“They pointed a fact that it calls for Mr. Big to die of a heart attack in the shower relatively early on in the film, making the remainder of the film more about how Carrie recovers from Big’s death than about the relationship between the four women,” Miller reports.

But this isn’t true, according to Noth. The actor told Page Six that Mr. Big would be alive and kicking if a third movie ever happened. “He wasn’t going to die,” Noth said. “There’s no way he was dying; that was all a lie.”

That being said, he insists there’s no drama within the Sex and the City community—though, at this point, the possibility of a third movie is unlikely. “There’s no drama, there’s no movie, there’s nothing going on with it, it’s over it’s gone,” Noth said.

To be honest, we’ll probably never know exactly what would have happened in Sex and the City 3. Sarah Jessica Parker says the script was “heartbreaking,” but that could mean anything. Maybe there was a death, or maybe all the women decide to move to Connecticut. Both would be heartbreaking. (Kidding, Connecticut is great!)

Meredith and Derek's Relationship on *Grey's Anatomy* Wouldn't Happen in 2018

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) relationship is one of the most iconic in the Grey’s Anatomy universe. Their romance was as embedded into mid-2000s culture as Paris Hilton, Juicy Couture tracksuits, and chunky highlights. However, if Grey’s Anatomy were to premiere in 2018—in light of #MeToo and Time’s Up—their relationship would look completely different. In fact, it might not even exist.

That’s what GA showrunner Krista Vernoff told the Los Angeles Times in a new interview from this week.

“If you look at, for example, Meredith Grey [Ellen Pompeo] and Derek Shepherd [Patrick Dempsey] through the lens of Time’s Up and #MeToo, he was her boss, she was an intern, and she kept saying, ‘No, walk away from me,’ and he kept pursuing her, and that is probably not a story we would tell on the show today, and it’s a beautiful reflection of the changing times,” she said.

Vernoff says the show is taking active measures to ensure the on-screen romances mirror the changes in our culture. Look no further than Meredith’s relationship with resident Andrew DeLuca [Giacomo Gianniotti] for proof of that.

“This season, we’re doing a little bit of a reversal as we begin to build this love triangle that’s emerging with DeLuca as one the people in that triangle, and he is a resident and Meredith is an attending, and we’re having to address it differently than we ever would have before,” she said.

Vernoff continued, “We’re having to talk about and look at power dynamics. It is an ongoing conversation in the writer’s room. How do we tell that story in a way that feels honest and romantic and sexy and yet proactive and progressive?”

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursday nights at 8 P.M. ET on ABC.

The Archaic Reason Why Meghan Markle's Daughters Wouldn't Inherit Her Title

Meghan Markle was bestowed the title Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day to Prince Harry. She’s the first woman to ever hold that title, and according to People, she’ll be the last—unless some major change happens ASAP.

The magazine reports that if Markle and Prince Harry have any daughters together, they won’t be able to call themselves Duchesses of Sussex (say that five times fast), nor will they get to carry on Markle’s Scottish title of Countess of Dumbarton or her Northern Irish moniker, Baroness Kilkeel. Any sons they have together, however, will be able to inherit their father’s titles of Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton, and Baron Kilkeel. The reason why, you ask? An ancient (and archaic) peerage law that says only male children can inherit titles. The British news site Express confirms this, as well.

The ancient peerage laws governing family inheritances have been changed before, however. Most recently, Queen Elizabeth introduced the Succession to the Crown Act in 2013, which rules that the next king or queen of the U.K. will be decided by birth order only, rather than biological sex. As a result, Princess Charlotte is able to retain her position as fourth in line to the throne, rather than dropping down to fifth upon the birth of her younger brother, Prince Louis.

Unfortunately, the 2013 ordinance applies only to the direct line to the throne, so it would take yet another law change to allow Prince Harry and Markle’s daughters to automatically inherit their titles. Unless the monarch at that point assigns them any additional honorary titles, their children will be called Lords and Ladies of Mountbatten-Windsor, according to The Independent. Meanwhile, because Prince William is the oldest son of the Prince of Wales, his children will all be titled Princes and Princesses, due to yet another recent rule tweak by Queen Elizabeth.

These peerage laws, which give boys priority over their sisters no matter their birth order, have been around since the 17th century, and apply to U.K. citizens well beyond the royal family. Just last year, for example, the eldest daughter of a baron was denied her claim to her late father’s title and 6,000 acres of land. According to The Telegraph, since Robin Neville, the 10th Baron Braybrooke, had seven daughters and no sons, his title went instead to a distant male cousin.

Michelle Wolf: 'I Wouldn't Change a Single Word’ of WHCD Speech

Michelle Wolf became an overnight sensation this weekend after her appearance at the 2018 White House Correspondents dinner. At the event, Wolfe delivered what’s probably been the most talked-about speech in the dinner’s history thanks to some controversial cracks that apparently have the nation divided; a nation that appears to care deeply about Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ smoky eye. But, even with all the drama, Wolf explained to NPR that she has no regrets whatsoever.

In a new interview with NPR, Wolf, 32, said she stands by the smoky eye joke—and all the others. “I wouldn’t change a single word that I said,” Wolf said in an interview set to air Tuesday. “I’m very happy with what I said, and I’m glad I stuck to my guns.”

Regarding the level of controversy following her words Wolf added, “I knew what I was doing going in. I wanted to do something different. I didn’t want to cater to the room. I wanted to cater to the outside audience, and not betray my brand of comedy.”

Following the outcry, Margaret Talev, president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, publicized a letter in which she wrote that Wolf’s monologue was “not in the spirit” of the dinner.

As to why people, including Talev, were so upset about her comments, Wolf noted that there’s likely a touch of sexism going on.

“I think sometimes they look at a woman and they think ‘Oh, she’ll be nice,’ and if you’ve seen any of my comedy you know that I don’t – I’m not,” she explained. “I don’t pull punches. I’m not afraid to talk about things. And I don’t think they expected that from me. I think they still have preconceived notions of how women will present themselves and I don’t fit in that box.”

When she was announced as the host in February the internet seemed genuinely excited, not only because she has great experience as a writer and comedian, but also because Wolf would be just the fifth woman in history to take on the gig.

However, at the event, Wolf’s jokes hit a nerve with both conservatives and members of the media alike. People seemed to be particularly up in arms over her jokes about White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful,” Wolf said at the event. “Like, she burns facts, and then she uses the ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Like, maybe she’s born with it; maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.”

Those jokes set off a firestorm on social media. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman kicked things off by calling the joke an attack on Sanders’ physical appearance.

Meanwhile, Mika Brzezinski said the joke was “deplorable.”

But, in a quick retort on Twitter, Wolf tweeted back to Brzezinski saying “Why are you guys making this about Sarah’s looks? I said she burns facts and uses the ash to create a perfect smoky eye. I complimented her eye makeup and her ingenuity of materials.”
