The Special Gift Meghan Markle Bought Herself That She Plans to Give Her Daughter


Meghan Markle dropped some serious cash on a present to herself following the second season of Suits—and she has a special future planned for it, too. According to a resurfaced interview in Hello! from 2015, Markle splashed out on a classic Cartier French Tank watch after the USA Network hit was renewed once again.

“I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch,” Markle told Hello!. “When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season—which, at the time, felt like such a milestone—I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.”

For reference, it’s gorgeous; although we don’t know exactly which model she got, take a peep at 18K pink gold and steel model, which boasts a price tag of $7,050.

But best of all is the empowering message she had engraved on the back: “To M.M. From M.M.”

She knows exactly what’s she’s going to do with it in the future, too. She told Hello!: “I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

As Harper’s Bazaar also pointed out, there’s another special connection the Cartier watch has to the royal family. The late Princess Diana was often seen wearing her own version of the Tank. (You think Meghan knew then she was destined for royalty???)

All that said, it’s pretty great that she bought herself a present to celebrate the success of the show she starred in. It’s also sweet that she’s turning it into a family heirloom that will be passed down through generations, especially now that her life has changed in so many ways after marrying Prince Harry and becoming the Duchess of Sussex. Until she and Harry decide to start a family—something they’ve spoken frequently and publicly about before—we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a two-toned Tank Française sighting.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Says She Plans on Staying on the Supreme Court Until She's 90


With the makeup of the Supreme Court bench currently in limbo, there’s at least one seat we can count on to stay filled for the foreseeable future. In an interview over the weekend, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she plans on staying in her position until she’s 90—giving fans of the Notorious RBG a small but much-needed assurance of stability for the next five years, at least.

After attending a performance of The Originalist, a play about her late colleague Justice Antonin Scalia, in New York City on Sunday, Ginsburg spoke to CNN about her plans for the future. “I’m now 85,” she said. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so I think I have about at least five more years.” In fact, CNN reports, the prolific justice—who was appointed to her seat in 1993 by President Bill Clinton—secured her law clerks for the next two SCOTUS terms earlier this year, guaranteeing that she’ll hold her position until at least 2020. Ginsburg went on to say that there’s no way she’ll be forced from her seat before she’s ready: “You can’t set term limits, because to do that you’d have to amend the Constitution. Article 3 says…we hold our offices during good behavior,” she said, joking, “And most judges are very well behaved.”

Ginsburg also spoke to CNN about the subject of the play, saying that Scalia, a conservative foil to her more liberal viewpoint, was her favorite sparring partner before his death in February 2016. “If I had my choice of dissenters when I was writing for the court, it would be Justice Scalia,” Ginsburg said. “Sometimes it was like a Ping-Pong game,” she continued, adding that going head-to-head with Scalia helped her further refine her arguments and opinions.

Though Ginsburg is clearly still going strong after 25 years as a Supreme Court justice, the rest of the bench has recently undergone a major shake-up. Following Scalia’s death, Republicans in Congress blocked President Barack Obama’s nomination for a replacement, allowing President Donald Trump to appoint the historically conservative Neil Gorsuch in his place in early 2017.

More recently, the relatively moderate Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he’d be stepping down from his post after 30 years on the Supreme Court, allowing Trump to appoint yet another, more-conservative justice and thus, critics worry, potentially creating a clear path to rolling back reproductive rights. As many Twitter users begged after Kennedy announced his retirement, Justice Ginsburg, a staunch champion for women, must be protected at all costs.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Postponed Their Honeymoon Plans


Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might be walking down the aisle on May 19, but the soon-to-be newlyweds won’t be settling into vacation mode anytime soon. Instead of heading off on their honeymoon, Kensington Palace confirmed Friday, the couple will get back to work immediately following their big day.

“The couple will be going on honeymoon, but not straightaway,” Kensington Palace spokesman Jason Knauf explained to reporters. “They will have their first engagement as a married couple in the week after the wedding.”

It appears that postponing honeymoons is becoming somewhat of a royal tradition. In 2011, Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, had to move theirs due to work reasons as well. At the time, a St. James’s Palace spokesperson told the Telegraph that the “Duke will return to work as a search and rescue pilot next week.” The spokesperson added, “The locations of both their private weekend before the Duke returns to work and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance.”

However, the world quickly learned that Prince William and Kate chose the Seychelles — an archipelago of 115 islands located in the Indian Ocean off the eastern coast of Africa — as their romantic honeymoon destination.

“The couple thoroughly enjoyed their time together, and they are grateful to the Seychelles government for their assistance in making the honeymoon such a memorable and special 10 days,” a spokesperson for the royal family told reporters following their trip.

Like his older brother, Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to travel to Africa for their honeymoon getaway as well. According to reports, the couple will likely head to Namibia for their vacation and stay at Natural Selection’s Hoanib Valley Camp.

It makes sense they’d choose Namibia as it’s one place the couple can really get away from it all: The country is one of the least densely populated nations on Earth. They also vacationed for a second time in neighboring Botswana last December shortly before Harry popped the question (gems from Markle’s engagement ring were also sourced from there).

So, maybe there really is a chance for these two to escape the prying eyes of the world for at least a week or two. At the very least, the lions, zebras, and antelope on their safari promise to keep quiet.

Emma Stone Canceled Plans on Jennifer Lawrence and Left Her With Half a Face of Makeup


Make some room in your heart, because Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence’s friendship is going to need the space. Last week brought us the pair’s delightful joint interview with W, where they discussed memories like their pet turtles and a shared stalker (believe it or not, much funnier than it sounds). The only downside is that it took until now for the two to get on screen together, especially when you see the dynamic we’ve been missing out on. But on the upside, they just gave fans an inside look at the their Golden Globes night. As expected, it’s gold.

According to a video Lawrence posted on Facebook, the two were supposed to meet up after the ceremony to go to some after parties together. As celebrities do, Lawrence called in a glam squad to prep her look for the night—so when Stone texted that she’d rather just hang out at home instead, as good friends do, Lawrence rolled with the change of plans.

That meant stopping everything and sending her squad home for the night, and that meant the Internet got an fantastic video of Lawrence wearing exactly one-half of a full-on look.

“What happened tonight?” Stone asks Lawrence, who’s shown in profile. “Well. You had told me you wanted me to be your date to the after parties, so I got us tickets to some after parties, and booked a car, and was halfway through glam when you told me told me that you didn’t want to go,” Lawrence slowly says, turning towards the camera. “That you just wanted to come over to my house, so I sent my hair and makeup team home. And now this is what I look like.” She stares at the camera with one pitch-black smoky eye. The woman knows drama, and that is some impeccable comedic timing.

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Episode 9 Recap: Sheldon and Amy's Wedding Plans Stall


Less than two months ago on The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper nearly had a breakdown trying to come up with the perfect wedding date to marry Amy Farrah Fowler. Apparently there are certain problems even physicists can’t solve, so the solution was to let his fiancé take over the wedding planning—specifically the location and date. Amy revealed that she had always wanted to be a June bride and get married “on a cliff overlooking the ocean at sunset.” And aside from a slight jab at the end of the episode, Sheldon agreed to it all.

Funny how things change….because in tonight’s episode—titled “The Bitcoin Entanglement”—Amy tells Penny that Sheldon no longer wants to get married outside, by the beach, or near a cliff. Why? Because regardless of the fact that it’s her dream scenario, he doesn’t like cliffs, doesn’t like the beach, and doesn’t like the outside. If we’re being completely honest, then I’ll admit this: I don’t like him.

The conversation between Penny and Amy—with Sheldon present—lasts no more than 30 seconds, and the rest of the episode revolves around the hot new TV topic, bitcoin. (Seriously, even Grey’s Anatomy did an entire episode about it a few weeks ago.) There’s no other mention of Sheldon and Amy’s wedding throughout this episode, which raises my TV antenna: Why even bring up the wedding if it serves no purpose to the story? That’s just TV storytelling 101: No one mentions anything for the hell of it. With 22 minutes in a sitcom, every word—and exchange—counts.

And that’s where my theory comes in: What if Amy and Sheldon are closer to getting married than we think?

Now, I think Sheldon needs his head examined before he walks down the aisle. Perhaps Amy does too. After all, she’s put up with his insane behavior all season long without raising an eyebrow. But that’s a topic for a different time. For right now, though, the issue is that wedding planning is not doing this couple any favors. Have they reached their breaking point?

Let’s look at the clues. In next week’s Big Bang Theory episode—called “The Confidence Erosion”—the summary states that Sheldon and Amy try to eliminate stress from wedding planning by applying math. I don’t know, looks to me here like they just got tickets to The Last Jedi…

But then comes the trusty dry erase board to try and solve all their wedding problems. Yeah, because that always does the trick.

Maybe all of this is too much for Shamy, and they realize dry erase boards are never the answer. At this point the only solution is to dress in their Sunday best and head to the city clerk’s office. And why does one go to the clerk’s office? Well, it’s not to buy lottery tickets. A marriage license, perhaps?

Also, Amy’s hair has never been shinier. That’s like five clues rolled into one.

Notice how serious Sheldon is here? Either he realizes they need pre-marriage counseling, or he’s about to go through with one of the biggest moments of his life.

Here’s the bottom line: While I actually don’t think Shamy will tie the knot at the city clerk’s office, I do think that we’re going to see a wedding happen sooner than expected. As we approach the second anniversary of the iconic coitus episode, viewers know that big things happen to these two in the month of December. We can only guess what’s next…

Miley Cyrus Reveals She Has No Plans to Marry Liam Hemsworth in the Immediate Future

It’s settled (for now, at least): Miley Cyrus has no plans to marry Liam Hemsworth in the immediate future. After fielding so many marriage rumors we can’t keep track of them all, the singer set the record straight by telling The Sun that she doesn’t “envision marriage.” “I’m 24,” she told the publication, according to Page Six. “I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do.” She’s still wearing the engagement ring he gave her in 2012 though, and we don’t blame her. It’s a gorgeous Neil Lane creation with a cushion-cut diamond and 18K gold band that she appears to be casually sporting in her photoshoot for her single “Malibu.” (Sneaky!)

“Three years ago, if you’d asked me if I’d be here, this happy with this man, I’d have been stunned,” Cyrus added. “I’m just riding this out. In some relationships, you lose yourself by being with someone else. Actually, it made me find myself more. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it’s possible to get even happier, I’ll take it.”

Cyrus continued that she didn’t know she would get back with Hemsworth in 2016 after breaking it off with him in 2013. “I’m so crazy I have no idea, but I had something in my heart, it never felt like it was really over,” she said. “We kept a great friendship really private.” In fact, if they hadn’t gone their separate ways, their relationship wouldn’t be as strong today, she said. “It’s good for people to have that space to grow individually. Otherwise, when you’re with someone from 16 until 24, you grow into the same person,” she said. “We got to become individuals. I hope everything stays the same. It feels like nothing changed except we grew up a lot.”

The whole Milliam (Miam? Liley?) saga has kept fans on their toes since the pair announced the rekindling of their engagement last January, with more twists, turns, leaks, and spoilers than your average Game of Thrones season.

In case you’ve forgotten (and we wouldn’t blame you), the last marriage rumor dropped in March, when Cyrus’s father Billy Ray Cyrus posted a pic on Instagram of the singer in a white dress, captioned “I’m so happy … you are happy.” He quickly put that rumor to bed after sending fans in a tizzy, changing the caption to “Don’t jump the gun!” And just two months before that, an unnamed source claimed that Cyrus and Hemsworth had gotten hitched in a super-secret New Year’s Eve wedding, with suspiciously nuptial Instagram pics to fuel the fire. And before that…well, you get the idea. Here’s hoping this latest advancement puts a stop to the false flags once and for all.
