Selena Gomez Took Her Best Friends to Italy for Her Birthday—And the Pics Look Amazing

We’ve come to that part of the summer where your entire Instagram feed feels like reading a travel magazine. From celebrities to influencers—and just your regular IRL friends—everyone on the planet seems to be on an amazing vacation. That list also includes Selena Gomez, fresh off her cousin’s wedding and currently doing it up in Italy with her girlfriends. She looks like she’s having a fantastic time (and wearing some extremely cute dresses), but best of all, it’s a birthday trip: Gomez turned 27 last week. Frankly, it’s hard to think of a better way to celebrate another trip around the sun than with gorgeous Mediterranean sunsets and pasta around every corner.

“Well I’m 27 now. I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your words on my bday. Not just the quick notes,” Gomez captioned a photo with a totally gorgeous sunset in the background. “The thought that goes behind every word you write usually ends up with me crying grateful tears like I did last night. Praying for all of you!! I LOVE YOU.”

According to People, Gomez’s grandparents also joined the group for at least part of the trip. “She just turned 27 and is celebrating in Rome and Capri. She’s having a good time and enjoying herself with her grandparents,” a source told the magazine. “She’s getting some relaxation in but is also excited to get back home and back to work.”

Everything about this Italian getaway looks incredible. “Me, Italy -trying desperately to look like a Fellini film,” Gomez wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of herself on the water.

Gomez’s friend Raquelle Stevens posted a birthday message for the actress/singer on Twitter, as well as some more shots of Italy that are making us want to book a flight right this second. “Happy birthday sugar! You are beauty inside and out. You have changed my life only for the better. ?,” Stevens wrote on Twitter.

Other friends along on the trip have been posting, too:

Bellissima! We’ll update this post with more vacay pics, should they become available.

25 Amazing Winter Coats For Every Budget

As Rihanna has taught us, a truly good winter outfit is all about the coat. Chances are a majority of the people you run into on any given winter day will only see your outerwear, and it’s all they’ll really notice. But the reality is not all of us can pull off a couture YSL heart coat like she can. A lot of us also can’t afford one.

The good news, though, is that this season’s coat trends come in a range of styles and price points—like Saks Potts–inspired coats with oversized fluffy cuffs (just in case you can’t budget or stomach a near $2,000 price tag) and classic winter puffers. On top of that, it’s finally acceptable to wear your Patagonia fleece outside of a hiking trip and apparently the Acne shearling biker jacket phenomena will never die.

The process of picking out the perfect winter coat can be overwhelming, so we’ve rounded up 25 of the best and trendiest ones on the internet right now. So regardless if you have a budget like Rihanna’s or not, there’s something you’re guaranteed to find below.

Bella Hadid Threw Kendall Jenner a 23rd Birthday Bash—and It Looked Amazing

Kendall Jenner might be busy getting ready to strut her stuff down the runway at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion show, but that didn’t stop her from fully celebrating her birthday. On Saturday night, the model hit the town with a few equally glamorous friends to celebrate her 23rd birthday with a bit of karaoke and a whole lot of balloons.

According to People, the crew consisted of Jenner, Bella Hadid, Tyler the Creator, Joan Smalls, and Justine Skye. The group arrived sometime after dark at Sing Sing Karaoke in New York City to belt out a few tunes in honor of the birthday girl.

But that wasn’t the only thing on the festive schedule: As chronicled on social media, the crew’s full day before tha honored Jenner with plenty of balloons, a limo bus, and a homemade cake made by Hadid herself at what looks like an apartment party.

In one photo from the night, shared with Skye, Jenner looked to be in the midst of a hardy laugh with an inflatable dog balloon tucked under her arm. In the photo and videos Jenner’s also wearing a black and pink feather boa.

In another photo, Jenner is pictured alongside her buddies as they don costumes, which include a bunch of purple grapes and an inflatable bathtub.

Though none of her famous family members were on hand for the celebration, they did all take time out of their day to gush about their sister on social media.

“Happy Birthday @kendalljenner I’ve never met a sweeter or prettier human being and someone who has so much fun in life!” Kim Kardashian West, 38, wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “I hope you get everything you’ve ever dreamed of for your birthday because you deserve it! I’m so happy you are my sister. I love you.”

“Happy birthday to my partner in crime, my best friend, my sister,” Kylie Jenner added in another snap. “Couldn’t have done it all without you.”

Kourtney Kardashian, the eldest of the sisters, added perhaps the sweetest message of all writing, “To my sister who gets me when none of the others do. With that sweetness that you have had since the day you were born and really held on to. Wishing you an enchanting Birthday my sister. I couldn’t live without you.”

Happy birthday, Kendall!

Tracee Ellis Ross Opened the 2018 American Music Awards With an Amazing Dance Medley

Tracee Ellis Ross did such an incredible job of hosting the American Music Awards in 2017 that they asked her back for the 2018 show. And this time around, she’s pulling out all the stops. On Tuesday evening, October 9. she opened the show at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater with a high-energy dance number to a medley of hits—and Twitter was immediately obsessed.

To kick off the medley, Ross rapped along to Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow,” sporting a glamorous cape and baring her teeth to reveal a grill featuring diamonds spelling out her initials on her bottom teeth. When the music transitioned to Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” however, she threw off the cape and was immediately flanked by a squad of backup dancers. That was followed by even more hits, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “APESHIT,” Aretha Franklin’s “Respect,” Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” and Beyoncé’s “Run the World.”

After her performance, Marsai Martin and Miles Brown, who play Ross’s kids onscreen in Black-ish, gave her scores of seven and three out of 10, respectively. Twitter users, however, were much more impressed. Though some called her moves cheesy or momlike—if so, she’s definitely a cool mom—pretty much everyone agreed that it was an incredible opening number. If there’s an AMA for Best AMAs Host, we know exactly who‘s getting it at the 2019 show.

Rihanna Is Here to Convince You That Blue Highlighter Actually Looks Amazing

Fenty Beauty is dropping products so quickly, it’s impossible to keep up. After surprising fans with four new shades of Stunna Lip Paint, the brand just announced its new-new for the holidays, and—well—it’s a doozy. Fenty is releasing its first highlighter palette.

Last night, Rihanna made an appearance in Sydney, Australia where she revealed the first (in what’s sure to be much more to come) of Fenty’s #CHILLOWT holiday collection. The seven-pan palette includes just about every shade of highlighter under the rainbow, which we mean quite literally. The Killawatt Foil Palette contains metallic purple, pink, white, red, orange, bronze, and blue (yep) options available to aid in your glow-up. And, like all of Fenty’s products, they can be used pretty much however you deem fit.

Fans, as you can imagine, have been going rightly bonkers over it online. “OH HELL YES!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE MINE,” one user commented on Instagram. “Ri Ri really out her got me buying more highlighter ok goodbye wig, goodbye bank account,” shared another.

The palette is launching at midnight on October 4 (so basically tonight) for anyone who lives in Australia or New Zealand. The rest of us have to wait until October 12 when it start rolling out in Sephora stores in the U.S. and online. According to the brand, this is only just the beginning from the collection. So buckle up, Rih-mas is looking good this year.

Gold Highlighter Looks Amazing on Literally Everyone

Highlighter has lived a life. What came into this world as a subtle way to draw attention to your cheekbones has gone through countless different incarnations. Colors, textures, finishes—any variable that beauty brands could switch up, over the past few years, they most certainly have.

So when gold shades started being featured more prominently alongside a wave of gemstone-colored highlighters, at first they seemed like a flash in the pan. Give or take a few months, and golden shades are everywhere. Fenty, naturally, paved the way with its gilded shade Trophy Wife, a yellow-gold made to suit every skin tone. NYX’s Born to Glow imparts a gorgeous, super-intense shimmer. Even brands that excel at shimmery champagnes and peaches, like Becca—who, alongside Anastasia Beverly Hills, has cornered the market on all things glow—are welcoming the color to the stable.

Dip a finger into one, and you get it. The color sparkles on medium and dark skin tones, and warms up paler ones like golden hour light, despite looking intimidatingly extra in the pan.

To prove just how wearable the shade really is, we had five Glamour staffers—with varying degrees of highlighter prowess—detail their thoughts on wearing the Midas of highlighters: Becca’s new Gold Lava shade. Read on for their honest thoughts.

“For every day, I usually prefer a natural highlight that’s more lit-from-within than sparkly. But if I’m going out or taking pictures, I love something shimmery. This looked like a little much for me everyday, but it’s super pretty. I didn’t love the gold right when I applied it, but by end of day, it settled down into a really pretty soft glow. It’s fun. I’d definitely wear it for a night out.” —Bella Cacciatore, beauty assistant

“I like this because it looks champagne-y, and not just gold—and it fits my neutral, olive skin really well. It glides smoothly on, without any flaking or fall-out, and it stays on well—I usually have to use a cream and a powder. This is so vibrant, it’s good on its own.” —Azadeh Valanejad, video producer

“I’m surprised by how much I like this. It looks like a little shimmer on, and it goes well with my bronzer, which is key to sustaining my summer glow for the colder months. I originally thought the gold color would be too much and I’d only be able to wear it if I were going out, but I’d definitely wear it everyday. It’s a lot more subtle than I imagined.” —Tara Gonzalez, commerce editor

“As someone with a medium to dark skin tone, this highlighter is one of my go-to shades. A little definitely goes a long way, but it layers nicely. I have other highlighters in a similar color, and the more pigment you add, the more texture it usually adds to your skin. This didn’t do that.” —Khaliha Hawkins, digital administrative assistant

“This surprised me. I love the wide world of highlight colors, but usually reach for the cool, pearly tones that play up my skin (when you’re my level of pale, anything darker than champagne reads very apparent). This gold is everything, though. Instead of reading metallic, Becca’s highlight masters figured out how to reach this sunny, shimmery tone—it’s like if highlighter and bronzer had a baby. It’s the product equivalent of Gisele.” —Rachel Nussbaum, beauty writer
