It’s almost February, which means that in most places, winter is dragging on and watching Netflix feels like the only way to pass the time. As the weather dips to icy lows, the streaming service has got you covered with about 80 new titles. We’re losing a few things (now’s your last chance to follow Neo into The Matrix), but so many gems will be available in the next few weeks, including the final season of Cable Girls,The Notebook,Jerry McGuire, and the highly anticipated sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Here’s everything coming to Netflix in February 2020:
Not to be all downer, but we’ve officially hit the doldrums of winter. The holidays are over, it’s still gray and freezing outside, he days are short, and spring feels a million years away. But the latest nail trend is here to brighten things up.
This season it’s all about cloud nails. First spotted on Instagram by Refinery29, the trend is exactly as it sounds: dreamy, whimsical swirls of white and blue that take inspiration from the sky on a vivid summer day. Yes, there are puffy clouds drawn over sky-blue bases, but also many more abstract interpretations for those who prefer a less obvious manicure. For example: soft pastel pinks and lavenders and milky, marbled finishes. And as you’ll see, the look works on a wide variety of nail lengths and shapes.
We love all the variations, as they offer a little something for everyone. Here are some of the intricate versions featuring actual clouds.
Then you’ve got the cloud nails that aren’t quite so literal.
Finally, there are those that are more of a vibe or a mood—but just as dreamy.
But cloud nails aren’t the only trend that will have us all looking toward the skies in 2020. Space tattoos (think stars, moons, planets, and spaceships) are going to be huge this year, according to Pinterest. Searches on the platform are up 267% for “geometric space tattoos.” Gorgeous takes on cloud eyeliner, like the look worn by Jules on Euphoria, also popped up on the spring 2020 runways at shows like Cynthia Rowley. Or perhaps astrology is more your bag, in which case you’re going to want to check out all the incredible zodiac nails on Instagram right now.
Even if cloud nails feel too literal for you, there are a ton of new nail colors hitting stores right now that give off the same dreamy kind of mood. It’s not a fast track to spring, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Shop some of our favorite pastel blues, below.
January isn’t everyone’s favorite month, but there is one good thing about it: winter sales. With brands hurrying to rotate current lines out for spring styles, there are so many good deals happening at the same time. One of our favorites so far is the winter Shopbop sale, with 70% off everything from fall and winter coats to cozy sweaters and cowboy boots.
We’re not surprised the Shopbop sale is good though, the retailer owns a prime spot in our bookmarks bar whether we’re looking for office-ready outfits or date night looks, and at this time of year, its sale section does not disappoint. Trust us, the best kind of sale is the one where you can buy things you actually need, when you need them—meaning now’s your chance to score a down jacket or an oversize sweater while it’s actually still cold outside.
We went ahead and narrowed it down to 13 key pieces that’ll help you achieve the tricky balance of looking cozy and being polished at the same time. Ahead, the only things worth buying from the winter Shopbop sale.

Earlier this year, global music and fashion phenomenon Rihanna revealed to T Magazine that she had quietly moved to London. She explained to the outlet that she frequently goes on walks around the city, but she tries to “keep it a little incognito.” And now, thanks to Instagram Stories, we have an idea of just how covert the siner can be when she wants to skirt by the London paparazzi.
The Daily Mailreports that earlier this week Rihanna paid a visit to “Winter Wonderland,” a seasonal market in London’s Hyde Park. The visit wasn’t noticed by market goers or members of Rihanna’s Navy at the time—the visit only came to light after Rihanna’s assistant, Tina Truong, posted about their trip on Instagram Stories.
In videos published by The Daily Mail and the Rihanna Twitter fan account @FentyStats, Truong follows Rihanna—who wears an oversized black coat with the hood pulled up—through a packed crowd at the Winter Wonderland. The singer also concealed her face with a black scarf so just her eyes were peaking out. Considering Rihanna loves nothing more than wearing enormous coats, the look is both a disguise and an on-brand fashion moment.
Rihanna’s undercover trip ultimately was just for a snack run. At one point in the videos, Truong loses track of Rihanna and finds her again at a hot dog stand. “Lmaooo found her y’all,” Truong wrote on the video. In it, Rihanna can be seen giggling and holding her hot dog out to Truong for a bite. Celebrities: They’ll risk it all for a holiday hot dog, just like us.
Hiding under coats and scarves isn’t the only thing keeping Rihanna from being spotted by fans these days—she’s simply been busy. Earlier this month, the singer took home her first British Fashion Award, the Urban Luxe award, for Fenty. And she’s also apparently holding on to a new album, which she’s cryptically referred to as R9. But on Instagram this week, Rihanna said she’s “refusing to release it.” We clearly need a Christmas miracle.
I’ve reached the point in my life when trends from my childhood have started resurfacing. As a preschooler in the early ’90s I remember being stuffed into turtlenecks, which were back after peaking in the ’70s, with help from The Brady Bunch. And while I hated turtlenecks a few decades ago, I can’t get enough of them this time around. I love how a cotton turtleneck looks under a breezy summer dress or a boiler suit, and I appreciate the extra layer of warmth on the coldest winter days. If you’re ready to give the turtleneck trend a second (or third) try, scroll down for style inspiration.
On extra-cold days, wear a turtleneck under a boiler suit. I like how the contrasting red here matches her bag straps and phone case, but a neutral would work, too.

If a turtleneck and a popped collar had a baby, it might be this ruffle-neck top, which does the work of a turtleneck (adding warmth and a little something around the neckline, not getting lost underneath her crewneck sweater) without getting too tight for comfort.

Two favorite fall trends—longline cardigans and midi skirts—are even better when you add a plain white turtleneck to the mix.

Brunch outfit, party of one? Layer on your basics (black turtleneck and tights, denim mini, Chucks) then top it all with a loud cardigan and your Sunday just got cozier.

For those in-between days when you want the warmth of pants suit but don’t want to sweat it out in an overcoat, swap your standard cotton top for a cozy knit turtleneck.
