Demi Lovato Opened Up About Rehab During the Sonny with a Chance Reunion

Demi Lovato has reunited with her Sonny with a Chance co-stars during quarantine and she used the opportunity to get very real.

On April 25, the singer opened up about rehab and her eating disorder while video chatting with cast members like Tiffany Thornton, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Doug Brochu, and Sterling Knight from the Disney show and its spinoff series So Random! When asked what everyone has been up to since the original show ended in 2011, Lovato replied, “I went to rehab. Several times!”

She could have left it with the quip, but she continued to share more about her recovery after entering rehab at 19-years-old. “When I went away to treatment for the first time, I remember you were my biggest inspiration coming out of it,” she told Thornton, per People. “You dealt with all of those pressures of being a woman on TV. I looked at that as, ‘I wish I had that so bad.’ Yes, I probably was happier in my head with whatever I looked like at the time, but I’m so much happier now with the mentality that you have…But you really inspired me a lot and I hope that my future kids someday have the same mentality that you had at the end of the show.”

Demi Lovato went on to discuss how she’s evolved since that period in her life. “I look back and I’m like, ‘Man, it’s a shame we wasted any energy thinking about what we wore on set.’ I went to Will and Grace this time and I literally spent 10 minutes in the wardrobe room,” she said. “My fittings used to be an hour. But now I’m just like, ‘It doesn’t matter. What I’m wearing doesn’t matter to people.'”

Lovato continued to talk about how she felt “miserable” while filming the series. “I was so miserable and angry too because I felt like I was being overworked,” she said, per The Hollywood Reporter, but she also had some wise words for anyone else starting out in the business. “I would just say, speak up for your needs, always tell the people around you how you feel,” she said. “If you’re tired, tell them you’re tired. If you’re sick, be honest about being sick and not feeling good. Just speak up for yourself.” Honestly, that can be applied to most jobs.

Cameron Diaz Opened Up About How She, Benji Madden, and Their Baby Are Doing in Quarantine

We’ve seriously missed Cameron Diaz since she all but retired from acting a few years back. Sure, she’s released some books—but it’s not quite the same as seeing her smile and charm displayed on the big screen.

Lucky for us fans, she’s been making herself a bit more public lately on social media, chatting with friends on Instagram Live and giving us a glimpse into what life is like at home for her, her husband Benji Madden, and their baby daughter, Raddix, whose arrival they announced in January.

On April 22, Diaz went live with her longtime makeup artist and good friend, Gucci Westman, and talked about her quarantine life with her family, where it appears they have the whole sleeping with a newborn in the house thing down. “Benji wants to go to bed late, and I like to go to bed early… that works so well for us as parents. I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her,” she said. “I can wake up early and be with her in the morning and [Benji] can sleep.”

She said it’s helped her realize how much we need other people. “It’s the tribal thing, it’s why we need tribes,” she said. “We all need somebody who doesn’t do what we do.”

Diaz says she’s pretty much going, going, going all day long—but she’s also finding time to chill out and, like so many of us, cook. “It’s my favorite thing in the world to do, is to cook. That’s my happy place,” she said. “Cooking is everything…I’m eating way too much pasta. I’m eating it every night. It’s just comforting and it’s easy and you can use so many things.”

In another highly relatable bit, the new mom says the global pandemic has her wondering about so many things and just trying to get a grasp on the uncertainty we’re all feeling. “None of us know what’s going to happen, when this is going to end [or] what the new start is,” Diaz said. “I’ve thought of a million things: ‘Are we going to move away? Where do we raise our child?’ All those things you think about.”

But she says, “The best thing to do is to stay in the moment, just take care.”

Prince Harry Just Opened Up About ‘Family Time’ With Meghan Markle and Archie in New Video

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from their roles as working members of the royal family, they made it clear they would not be walking away from the charities and patronages they care so deeply about.

Harry made good on his word recently when he took part in a video call with parents and medical workers associated with WellChild, an organization providing care to seriously ill children and young people in the U.K. The Duke of Sussex has served as a patron for over 10 years, and even said “It’s very nice to see the familiar faces on here” during the video chat. On the call, he also let us in on how the Sussexes, including baby Archie, are faring during this period of self-isolation, which they are reportedly spending at their new home in Los Angeles.

“There’s a hell of a lot of positives that are happening at the same time and being able to have family time — so much family time — that you almost think, ‘Do I feel guilty for having so much family time?’ ” he said, per People. “You’ve got to celebrate those moments where you are just on the floor rolling around in hysterics. Inevitably, half an hour later, maybe a day later, there’s going to be something that you have to deal with and there’s no way you can run away from it.”

Harry then praised the caregivers who are working with children with special needs and require around-the-clock attention during this pandemic. “The resilience and strength that you guys have shown is absolutely incredible and you must never ever, ever forget that,” he said, according to Harper’s Bazaar. “And, of course, there’s going to be hard days, I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is for you guys, having just one kid [myself]—an 11-month-old—so to see what you are doing on a day-to-day basis, I have so much respect for every single one of you.”

“On a day-to-day basis, it’s incredibly challenging for all you guys, but now this has taken it to a whole new level. … You are a shining example of being superparents,” he continued. “Spinning so many plates and juggling so many balls at the same time, it’s amazing.”

While (Prince) Harry and Meghan Markle’s plans for their newly-named Archewell charitable organization aren’t public knowledge yet, they are obviously keeping busy behind the scenes. Yesterday, it was announced that they are directing excess money made from their 2018 televised wedding to COVID-19 relief.

Hailey Bieber Opened Up About the ‘Cruelty’ She Faces on Social Media

Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) may be one of the most famous faces on Instagram but that doesn’t mean things are always rosy for her on the platform.

On Friday, the model took to Instagram to share a truly personal post where she got candid about how negative comments, messages, and bullying on social media affects her.

“I would say my most favorite part of existing is human connection. I absolutely love connecting with other people, I love finding common interests between me and others, hearing people’s story, I love laughing with others, and I love crying with others. I feel so very very deeply,” Bieber wrote in the caption of her Instagram post of a stunning blue sea. “My heart explodes with happiness when my friends and family are happy and my heart feels crushed when they are hurting and sad.”

She went on to explain to her 24 million followers that the reason she was sharing the lengthy message was “because I love to connect, I do my best to expose my heart which means I love freely and I empathize deeply, and because of that I also hurt very easily when I feel like people don’t see my heart and see me for who I am.”

The 23-year-old went on to say apps like Instagram and Twitter are “a breeding ground for cruelty towards each other, and because people don’t take the time to connect with each other on an honest level before they resort to hatred, it starts to damage what could be really beautiful human interaction and connection.”

Bieber added that she could sit there “all day” and pretend the messages don’t bother her, but, she noted, “NEWS FLASH: it hurts to be torn apart on the internet!!! It hurts to be compared to other human beings every single day, it hurts for people to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. It hurts to be called names, and to feel like you don’t measure up to a certain standard… the list goes on and on.”

Meghan Markle's Close Friend Opened Up About Watching Her Face Media Scrutiny

An upcoming documentary about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Africa showed Markle revealing that she’s been “vulnerable” in the spotlight as a royal and new mother. “Not many people have asked if I’m okay,” the Duchess said in the now-viral clip. Following that heartbreaking confession, one of the Duchess of Sussex’s close friends is coming to her defense.

On a recent episode of CBS This Morning, Markle’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin opened up about watching his friend face intense scrutiny from the British tabloids. In short: It’s been an incredibly difficult time for the Duchess.

At the top of the interview, Martin was asked how it’s been to watch his close friend get dissected by the British media. “To be honest, it’s been tough,” Martin said. “Watching this documentary, it’s almost been the relief seeing her at a point where she can be honest about what’s been happening. I feel like all of us who have known, we just didn’t know what to do or how to help, but I feel like just putting this out there, like it has been challenging, it’s hopefully demystified a lot about what’s going on over there.”

Markle is currently in a legal battle against the Daily Mail, which allegedly illegally published a private letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle, in 2018.

Martin was asked how Markle is handling the lawsuit under the watchful eye of the press. He revealed that Markle’s singularly focused on protecting Prince Harry and baby Archie through the proceedings. “I think she has a lot on her plate and she just wants to make sure that her boys are safe,” he said. “I know her. She’s going to totally take care of this. It’s just understanding the ways around it.”

Keeping up close friendships outside of the royal family have been essential to Markle’s adjustment to her new role. Martin, whom Markle has known for a decade, has been part of several of her big occasions, including the royal wedding (he was responsible for Markle;s makeup) and her baby shower. The love is mutual: While Markle was in New York City for the U.S. Open in September, she snuck in a visit to Martin’s birthday party.

It’s unclear how long Markle’s lawsuit will last or what the outcome will be, but judging by Martin’s interview, she at least has dedicated friends to support her through it.

Prince Harry Just Opened Up About That Alleged Rift with Prince William

Since Prince Harry‘s birth in 1984, he and his older brother Prince William have basically been viewed by the public as a unit. They were the adorable boys heading off to school in their uniforms or on vacations to water parks with their mother, Princess Diana. And then of course, there is the indelible image of the two young princes walking behind their mother’s coffin in her funeral procession.

The world watched them grow up together and many feel deeply invested in their happiness. So when rumors surfaced of a rift between the brothers, it was vigorously covered in the press, even though neither prince had spoken out about it. Rumors often drive the story when it comes to the British royal family and there was speculation about the reasons behind the alleged split, including that it had something to do with their wives, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

Now, Harry is opening up about the current state of his relationship with his brother in the new documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

“Inevitably stuff happens. But we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers,” Harry said. “We’re certainly on different paths at the moment. I’ll always be there for him and as I know, he’ll always be there for me. We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly.”

“The majority of stuff is created out of nothing. As brothers, we have good days and we have bad days,” he continued.

So there you have it—royal brothers are just like regular siblings in that eventually their lives diverge and they start their own families and jobs—but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s been a massive and dramatic flight. Of course, in most of our families, one person is not the future king of England and our internal dramas don’t play out on the front page of newspapers, but family is still family—for better or for worse.
