Eva Mendes Spectacularly Shuts Down Age-Shaming Troll on Instagram

Eva Mendes just proved that she won’t stand for age-shaming in an epic response to a troll who commented “she’s getting old” on her most recent Instagram post.

The post in question features Mendes showing off newly short hair, which now falls just above her shoulders in a sleek long bob. As per usual, the 45-year-old actress and mom of two looks stunning as all get out in the clip, but unfortunately, that didn’t stop an Instagram troll from attempting to tear her down with a rude comment about aging. Mendes didn’t let the bully’s comment break her, though—instead, she used it as an opportunity to spread age positivity and uplift others. “Yes your right. Thank God I’m getting old. That means I’m still here,” she responded. “I’m gonna be 46 soon and grateful every day that I’m aging. Was your comment suppose to make me feel bad? It didn’t. It makes me feel grateful. So thank you for the reminder that I’m still here, ❤️❤️❤️” she added.

It didn’t take long before myriad fans chimed to support Mendes with messages like, “I think you make aging look beautiful!! At 46, I have no problem owning it!! ? I have 7 kids, so I’m earning this wisdom! ?” and “You’re so beautiful, in and out. Thanks for always inspiring us ??.” Additionally, she received countless compliments on her new haircut, which is the shortest she’s worn it in quite some time.

Props to Mendes for keeping it real and reminding others what a gift getting older really is.

Lizzo Shuts Down 'SNL' With Performances of 'Truth Hurts' and 'Good as Hell'

Lizzo made her debut on Saturday Night Live on December 21, and it left the entire Internet feeling good as hell.

For the show’s midseason finale—which also featured comedian Eddie Murphy hosting the NBC series for the first time in 35 years—the singer took the stage to first perform her chart-topping hit, “Truth Hurts”. The inspiring and energetic performance showed off her impressive vocals, but the Internet couldn’t help also obsessing over her outfit: a custom-made creation by black designer Dapper Dan.

The Dapper Dan x Gucci button-down trench coat featured a matching bralette and boots. And as Buzzfeed notes, Lizzo also had an all-black and all-female band performing alongside her, who also repped the designer in custom Gucci jumpsuits.

Check out Lizzo’s SNL performance for yourself, below:

For her second performance, the singer transformed the stage into a winter wonderland complete with candy cane poles and gift-wrapped backup dancers to sing “Good as Hell.” As for Lizzo’s outfit, she brought her A-game once again, wearing a formal black tuxedo ensemble.

Kaley Cuoco Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors (Again): 'Would You Say That to My Face?'

Kaley Cuoco would like everyone to know that she is decidedly not pregnant—and maybe, just maybe, people should stop speculating about whether or not she is.

The Big Bang Theory star posted a photo from what looks to be a very romantic trip with her husband, Karl Cook, and it got the rumor mill going in her comments section. One commenter wrote, “Are you hiding a baby bump?!?!” Another said, “When’s the baby due?” A third said, “But you look pregnant in tonight’s episode of Big Bang theory as well.”

Cuoco was having none of the speculation, so she shut it down where it all started: social media. Per People, the actress posted a screenshot to her Instagram Stories where she addressed the issue head-on. “I’m so sorry I bent over in a way to where my dress billowed in the wind and made you think this,” Cuoco wrote. “Question. Would you walk up to me and ask this straight to my face?”

This isn’t the first time Cuoco has taken on those who feel it’s okay to comment about her body and whether or not she is pregnant. Back in October, she posted a photo of herself and her sister on the red carpet and was faced with body-shaming social media trolls. “I posted a picture this morning of my sister and I from an event last night and people said I looked pregnant,” she shared in an Instagram Story. “Would you ever walk up to someone on the street or at an event where they’re obviously dressed up and say, ‘Are you pregnant?’”

“It’s just so comedic and shocking that people would ask that,” she continued. “I’m not pregnant. I guess it was a pregnant angle. Seriously, shut up.”

Cuoco is absolutely right that a pregnancy or, in her case, a non-pregnancy is nobody’s business but her own. So let’s just all stop the speculation, okay?

Lili Reinhart Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors: 'My Body Is Something I Will Never Apologize For'

Lili Reinhart‘s had to deal with inquiries about her personal life for quite some time now. Ever since rumors erupted last summer that she’s dating her Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse, Reinhart’s been living her life in a metaphorical fishbowl of sorts. Still, the actress has frequently shut down the idea that fans are entitled to information about her personal life. “It’s horrifying how invested some people are in my love life. Emphasis on ‘my.’ It is mine. It is private,” she wrote on Tumblr back in October.

Now, she’s addressing a different—and more offensive—type of scrutiny. Over the weekend, a photo surfaced of Reinhart that led many fans to think she’s pregnant. Below, just a few of the tweets from her followers:

Something similar happened to Today host Savannah Guthrie last week, when people online started debating her body and wondering whether or not she’s expecting. It’s a phenomenon that predominantly happens to female celebrities—and it’s not OK. Reinhart took to Instagram Stories on Monday (May 28) to say just that—and to confirm that, no, she isn’t pregnant.

“It’s unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the Internet causes hundreds of people to think that I’m pregnant,” she wrote. “Nope. Not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I’m bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight.”

Reinhart continued, “My body is something that I will NEVER apologize for. My body will constantly go through change. And so will yours. And that’s fine. So let’s not much so much time and effort into caring about a stranger’s figure.”

Reinhart’s series of posts inspired her co-star Camila Mendes to open up on Instagram about her own body struggles. “I feel bloated 24/7. My weight fluctuates constantly, it comes with being a woman and should be celebrated, not criticized,” Mendes wrote. “I used to fear the day that people would start publicly criticizing my body and commenting on my weight. I’ve suffered too much from my own self-criticism, and wasn’t sure that I could handle it from others. But seeing somebody as beautiful as Lili respond to public scrutiny by preaching and practicing self-love is all it takes for me to overcome that fear. Proud to call her my friend. Let’s continue inspiring women to love their bodies.

Well said. These Twitter users’ time would be better spent catching up on the bonkers second season of Riverdale.

Kendall Jenner Shuts Down Comments About Her Acne at the Golden Globes

Plenty of us get breakouts. Adult acne is actually on the rise in women ages 20 to 40. But few of us, god forbid, have to stand on a red carpet with it like Kendall Jenner did at last night’s Golden Globes—where, even despite the evening’s central theme around women’s empowerment, people didn’t hold back from picking apart the model’s appearance. (Check out Twitter and you’ll see people sharing thoughts on everything from her acne to her lips to her attendance at large.)

Jenner, for her part, usually stays above petty comments on social media. But she actually had a pretty great response to a fan who tweeted her in solidarity about her acne. The fan wrote, “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand.” Kendall’s reply? “Never let that shit stop you! ?✨” Yeah, people were here for it.

Back in January 2017, the last time fans criticized her for getting “facial reconstruction” when really she’d done her makeup differently, Kendall called it “exhausting,” and said it ultimately made her think the world was rooting against her. “I feel like people just want me to lose,” she said. “People forget that they’re talking about real people who have real feelings and actually live their everyday lives (for the most part) just like everyone else.”

What we should be talking about instead? Time’s Up.

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Episode 7 Recap: Penny Shuts Down Sheldon's Slut Shaming Comment

A quick recap of tonight’s Big Bang Theory episode would go something like this: Sheldon and Bert collaborated on a Geology project, but Sheldon didn’t want anyone to know; Raj went on a date with Bernadette’s co-worker, Ruchi, and later hooked up with her; and, sadly, Amy and Bernadette didn’t have much to do.

But perhaps the best—and potentially most over-looked—part of “The Geology Methodology” was the continuation of #JusticeforPenny (that’s right, Stranger Things 2 isn’t the only show that gets the justice hashtag).

Last week, Penny got revenge for years of blonde dumb jokes by effortlessly taking care of baby Halley, resulting in Halley saying her first word—”mama”—to Penny. The week before, Penny pulled off the near impossible by learning how to expertly handle an immature Sheldon.

And tonight, Penny continued her ascent as the season’s best character by masterfully putting Sheldon in his place after he attempted to slut-shame her. It all started with Sheldon coming to Penny for work advice, saying he’ll ruin his reputation if anyone finds out he’s working on a Geology project. Penny gives her opinion, but Sheldon can’t make up his mind whether or not to take it, which prompts the following exchange:

Penny: This is about science. Why’d you come to me?

Sheldon: Because it’s also about reputation. And somehow, you managed to hold your head high despite your checkered past.

Penny: Checkered past?

Sheldon: It’s a figure of speech referring to how sexually promiscuous you were.

Penny: Really?! Well I’ve got a figure of speech about how sexually promiscuous you can go be with yourself.

PHOTO: Michael Yarish/Warner Bros.

Sheldon being Sheldon, he had no idea what that was in reference to. For the rest of us, it was a great response to a ridiculous remark. For one, having casual—and hopefully safe—sex is nothing to be ashamed about. And two, it’s none of Sheldon’s business what Penny does in private. What’s even more ironic is that at the same time Sheldon is slut-shaming Penny, in another scene Bernadette and Howard are pushing Raj to have casual sex with Ruchi. Once again, the narrative is that it’s OK for a guy to have casual sex—but, according to Sheldon, a woman has a “checkered past” if she conducts her life in the same manner. SMH.

Later in the episode, Raj pays a visit to Penny’s therapy corner kitchen (I mean, she should start charging a fee at this point) and asks for advice with Ruchi. When Raj tries to convince Penny that he can handle a casual relationship, and Penny serves up the honest truth in the form of facial expressions and jumbled laughs, Raj wants to know why she keeps “doing that with your face?” Her response: “Because you keep saying stupid things with yours!”

Clearly, Penny is not here for anyone’s stupidity. The only crime is that her role in this episode was to service Raj and Sheldon’s story, and not her own. Hopefully, we’ll see more #JusticeForPenny as this season of The Big Bang Theory continues.
