Rihanna and Her Billionaire Boyfriend Just Went on a Rare Public Date

Rihanna continued her birthday week festivities Thursday night (February 21) by going on a rare, public date with her rumored boyfriend, Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel. The two were photographed laughing and having a great time at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, both opting for casual ensembles. RiRi wore a Lakers jersey, while Jameel kept it comfortable with a black baseball cap and zip-up sweater. Neither of them stopped smiling throughout the entire evening.

Check out a few photos from their date, below.

But I’d probably enjoy a basketball game if Rihanna was with me. Hell, I’d enjoy a root canal if Rihanna was with me.

News of Rihanna and Jameel’s relationship first broke in June 2017, when they were spotted kissing while on vacation in Spain. They’ve made a few rare appearances since then. There was the time Rihanna literally hid Jameel under her umbrella (ella). They reportedly broke up in June 2018, but things seemed back on by December, when they were spotted having a cozy dinner in Malibu.

Rihanna will no-doubt continue her birthday festivities this weekend. She kicked things off Wednesday night (her actual birthday) by attending a party thrown for her at Wally’s restaurant in Beverly Hills.

And she certainly has a lot to celebrate. For one, her Fenty Beauty line is killing it. In January, she revealed the brand was dropping an inclusive line of concealers in 50 shades.

“I never could have anticipated the emotional connection that women are having with the products and the brand as a whole,” Rihanna told Time magazine about Fenty Beauty back in November 2017. “Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That’s something I will never get over.” She added, “I’m going to continue to have fun and push the boundaries in this industry.”

Rihanna Isn't Here for the People Who Watched the Super Bowl on Her Flight

All Rihanna wanted was a relaxing flight, but the people on board who were trying to watch the Super Bowl made sure that didn’t happen.

OK, that’s a joke. RiRi probably did have a nice first-class flight on Sunday evening going…wherever she was going—but her fellow passengers with football on the brain did annoy her. At least enough for her to write on Instagram about it.

The “Work” singer posted two slides to Instagram Story documenting her live reaction to someone asking if they could watch the big game at 20,000 feet. And her face truly says it all.

“How can we watch the Super Bowl on the flight? Me: [No comment],” she wrote alongside a video of her serving a blank stare and then a smirk.

She then called one of the passengers asking about the Super Bowl a “weirdo,” which isn’t the nicest comment. However, this probably isn’t shade toward people who watch sports. It’s most likely her way of supporting Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who kneeled during the national anthem to peacefully protest violence against Black people in America. He went into free agency the following year and his contract with the NFL wasn’t renewed.

“For those of you who thought I was watchin’ the Super Bowl…we beefin’,” Rihanna also posted to Instagram Story next to a photo of Kaepernick kneeling. The Fenty mogul reportedly turned down an offer to perform at the halftime show because of the Kaepernick controversy.

Instagram

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in 2016. “To me, this is bigger than football, and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

We Should All Shop for Coats the Way Rihanna Does

When Rihanna steps out into the cold, she doesn’t throw on any old coat. She prefers outerwear that could double as a glamorous sleeping bag. Who cares if an oversized train drags behind her on the floor or that she’s so insulated she can’t lift her arms. She’s Rihanna—she has two back-ups in the car and an assistant there to help.

More often than not, Rihanna’s mega-coats come with a quadruple-digit price tag. (Think Saint Laurent couture, Raf Simons, Ella Boucht.) They can be made from plushy velvet or slick puffy fabric, but they’re always e-nor-mous. These aren’t coats that you have to worry will hide your outfit—they are the outfit.

Rih’s penchant for XXL outerwear is almost the wintertime/extreme air-conditioning equivalent of the red carpet confection dresses she’s known to wear. Why she loves them so much isn’t immediately clear—does she need supersized pockets to stash her collection of restaurant wine glasses, or do her hands just get really, really cold all the time? It’s an enigma that doesn’t have a straightforward answer. But also, that’s not the point: Rihanna embodies the concept of “dressing for yourself,” wearing what she wants when she wants just because she can, whether it’s a bedazzled Gucci bodysuit to Coachella or a poufy Molly Goddard gown for a Tuesday or, yes, jackets the size of a bedspread.

When she wears these coats, Rihanna looks both glamorous and unbothered, as only a multi-platinum popstar and global beauty mogul could. They’re a sartorial barrier distinguishing her from the world around her, an exercise in prestige fashion. Admit it: If you could drop a few thousand dollars on a larger-than-life puffer coat to feel like Rih, you probably would. But the good news is you don’t have to.

With at least three full months of cold still ahead, consider this our petition that everyone deserves at least one outrageous piece of outwear. So throw hazard to the wind and shop these #BigCoatEnergy outfit-makers, below. Rihanna would be proud.

Rihanna and Her Billionaire Boyfriend Were Seen On a Cozy Pre-Holiday Date

It might seem hard at first to find something relatable about singer, actress, and all-around icon Rihanna—but when it comes to her dating life, we can all relate. Case in point: The memorable instance in which Rihanna reportedly broke up with Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel because she “gets tired of men sometimes.”

Well, it looks like Rihanna has gotten over her dating fatigue. On Saturday (December 22), the singer was spotted on a cozy date in Malibu, California, with none other than Jameel himself. The two met up for a cozy pre-holiday dinner at a restaurant on the California coast, and it looks like it was magical.

RiRi turned up for the date looking stylish as ever, in a trench coat draped off of her shoulders and black strapless dress. Jameel, the man that she sometimes gets tired of, wore a hoodie and a baseball cap. We can’t say what went on inside their dinner date, but we can see that Rihanna opted not to take a wine glass home as a souvenir.

There were no pics of them cuddling up together, unfortunately, but there is photographic evidence:

This cozy dinner is the first time that Rihanna and Jameel have been photographed in the same vicinity since November, when they both reportedly attended an event for a company that Jameel invests in. The pair has been linked since summer 2017, when they were photographed kissing in Spain, and Rihanna’s fan base collectively lost their minds over the potential couple. Rumors that they were engaged in December 2017 proved to be false—same as, apparently, are the rumors that they are no longer dating.

Billionaire boyfriend aside, Rihanna has a lot to keep her occupied heading into 2019. Recently, the singer confirmed to a fan on Instagram that she would finally drop new music in 2019. Let the countdown begin.

Rihanna Reportedly Has a Lookalike Model to Try Out Brow Looks, As You Do When You're Rihanna

For anyone who does their own eyebrows, you know the sheer horror of realizing you plucked a little too aggressively. (And, well, if that happened to you—hi, we see you!—this magic brow pen is a great way to help fix that!) Celebrities and the otherwise well-connected are largely spared this indignity, thanks to a) access to the top brow artists in the biz and b) regular appointments with said artistes. Should the worst happen, there’s always a glam squad around to make sure it looks like it never did. You have those people, and then you have Rihanna, who reportedly employs a test model to make sure that whatever’s going to happen to her brows looks good before the process begins. Yes, we do have more details, thank you for asking.

Rihanna has singlehandedly managed to repatriate the skinny brow to our collective consciousness. And according to Damone Roberts, the artist responsible for her brows (as well as those of Beyoncé, Jenna Dewan, and Oprah—yup, casual), Rihanna has a unique way of trying out new shapes. He told Entertainment Tonight: “This year, we first met for the Met Gala, and she wanted to lighten her eyebrows. So Rihanna’s so fly that she has a lookalike model come by your space, and you try out different looks on the eyebrows on the model, and you send pictures to Rihanna and she decides whether she wants to do it or not!”

Uh, what?

Let Roberts explain: “So literally a lookalike model we trialed and tried and everything else until we got them perfect, and we sent Rihanna the pictures and we heard nothing and of course two days before the Met Gala she’s like, ‘I loved them! You gotta fly to NY and take care of me!’ and do them and whatnot, and of course Rihanna shut down the show! It was really, really special.”

In the realm of celebrity, this isn’t totally unheard of: Kim Kardashian reportedly has fit models that try on her fashion looks for her. Still, brows!

Roberts did also confirm to ET, though, that Rih is really just as awesome as she seems: “Rihanna has become one of my favorite people. Now of course I was a fan like everyone else, but once I started working with her this year I have become a fan of her as a person because she is so fly and dope! I can’t think of any other word because she really personifies ‘Rock Star.'”

We appreciate both his confirmation that she is fly and also that her brows truly come from a magical place.

Rihanna Slams Trump For Playing One of Her Biggest Hits at His 'Tragic' Rally

Over the weekend, Rihanna became the latest celebrity to step into the heated political conversations online leading up to Tuesday’s midterm elections. And, of course, she did it in classic RiRi form.

First, she came out on Twitter and Instagram in support of Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and a criminal justice reform amendment also on the ballot in Florida. “FLORIDA: You have the opportunity to make history this election. The US has only had four black Governors in its entire history, and we can help make #AndrewGillum the next one and Florida’s first,” she wrote. “If you’re tired of feeling like you don’t matter in the political process, know the most important thing you can do in supporting a candidate is finding someone who will take on critical issues such as: making minimum wage a livable wage, paying teachers what their worth, ensuring criminal justice reform, making healthcare a right, and repealing Stand Your Ground. That’s a platform we MUST support. Let’s #bringithome, Florida. Vote @andrewgillum. And VOTE YES on Amendment 4 to restore voting rights to folks who have already paid their debt to society. VOTE on November 6th!”

Then she came for President Donald Trump.

Journalist Phillip Rucker tweeted from a Trump rally that Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” was blasting on the speakers and Rihanna was having none of it. “Not for much longer…” she responded. “me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!”

And the internet cheered.

Rihanna is the latest in a line of music stars who are not pleased that their music is being used at Trump rallies. Last week Pharrell Wiliams had his attorney Howard King send a cease and desist letter over the President’s use of “Happy” at a rally after the mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

“On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana,” King wrote in the letter. “There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.” Guns n’ Roses frontman Axl Rose also took to Twitter to express his displeasure at the use of their music at political events for Trump.

President Trump has yet to comment, but we’ll be watching to see if he dares to invoke the wrath of Rihanna fans.
