Rihanna Slams Trump For Playing One of Her Biggest Hits at His 'Tragic' Rally

Over the weekend, Rihanna became the latest celebrity to step into the heated political conversations online leading up to Tuesday’s midterm elections. And, of course, she did it in classic RiRi form.

First, she came out on Twitter and Instagram in support of Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and a criminal justice reform amendment also on the ballot in Florida. “FLORIDA: You have the opportunity to make history this election. The US has only had four black Governors in its entire history, and we can help make #AndrewGillum the next one and Florida’s first,” she wrote. “If you’re tired of feeling like you don’t matter in the political process, know the most important thing you can do in supporting a candidate is finding someone who will take on critical issues such as: making minimum wage a livable wage, paying teachers what their worth, ensuring criminal justice reform, making healthcare a right, and repealing Stand Your Ground. That’s a platform we MUST support. Let’s #bringithome, Florida. Vote @andrewgillum. And VOTE YES on Amendment 4 to restore voting rights to folks who have already paid their debt to society. VOTE on November 6th!”

Then she came for President Donald Trump.

Journalist Phillip Rucker tweeted from a Trump rally that Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” was blasting on the speakers and Rihanna was having none of it. “Not for much longer…” she responded. “me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!”

And the internet cheered.

Rihanna is the latest in a line of music stars who are not pleased that their music is being used at Trump rallies. Last week Pharrell Wiliams had his attorney Howard King send a cease and desist letter over the President’s use of “Happy” at a rally after the mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

“On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana,” King wrote in the letter. “There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.” Guns n’ Roses frontman Axl Rose also took to Twitter to express his displeasure at the use of their music at political events for Trump.

President Trump has yet to comment, but we’ll be watching to see if he dares to invoke the wrath of Rihanna fans.

Ellen DeGeneres Hilariously Hits Back at Eric Trump’s Absurd Conspiracy Theory

We already knew that the Trump brothers love a good Twitter fight, which was only amplified earlier this week when Eric Trump took to Twitter to accuse national treasure Ellen DeGeneres of being involved in the “deep state” of America (or, a group of influential people who are allegedly trying to take down his father, President Donald Trump, from office. “Crooked Hillary” Clinton and President Barack Obama are also persons of interest, naturally) based on the fact that Twitter’s algorithm suggested he follow her along with the aforementioned politicians. DeGeneres, ever the ray of sunshine that she is, thinks this is absolutely hilarious and has made her amusement known.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres dedicated her usual opening monologue to Trump, playfully admitting that—what a shock—the deep state rumors aren’t true. She just doesn’t have the time or the resources, folks. “I’m sorry to disappoint you. I am not part of the deep state. I’m honored that you think I’m powerful enough to be part of a government conspiracy,” she began. “Even if somebody wanted me to be involved, I don’t have that kind of time. I’ve got my gay agenda meetings on Monday, and on Wednesday, Beyoncé and I host an Illuminati brunch. And then Portia [de Rossi, her wife] and I on the weekends are desperately trying to have a baby. So, I can’t.”

What’s most ridiculous about her name floating around a secret government conspiracy, she says, is that “no one has undermined Donald Trump more than Donald Trump.” You know, not her.

In fact, the reason Twitter suggested Eric Trump to follow DeGeneres, she reasonably reckons, is because both of his sisters—Ivanka and Tiffany—follow her already. “Maybe you should follow me, because I post a lot of cute videos,” said said, queuing up a video of a cat massaging a dog. (Iconic!) “We might not agree on politics, but I think we can both agree this is cute.”

She’s not wrong, Eric.

Kim Kardashian Hits Back at People Accusing Her of Leaving Her Sick Son to Party on NYE

Kim Kardashian West is not here for the Internet’s mommy shaming. On Wednesday, the KUWTK star took to Twitter to shut down rumors that she was partying on New Year’s Eve while her two-year-old son, Saint, was in the hospital with pneumonia.

“I haven’t heard this BUT lets get this straight. I did not leave my son for one minute during his hospital stay,” she wrote in response to a tweet from a fan. “We were [at the hospital] Wednesday night to Saturday. NYE WAS SUNDAY NIGHT. People came over when he was already asleep for the night!”

According to an earlier tweet from KKW, Saint spent three nights in the hospital getting “multiple IVs and hooked up to oxygen machines,” an experience that Kim called “challenging” and “scary.” Even though the star usually ignores nasty comments on her social media pages, she refuses to let Internet trolls criticize her parenting. “Don’t even try me when it comes to my kids,” she finished her statement.

Kim is currently expecting her third child via surrogate and has committed to making 2018 “all about [her] family.” Despite how dedicated she is to the youngest members of the West brood, this isn’t the first time the Internet has offered its unsolicited advice on Kim’s parenting: Last year, Twitter went wild after she posted a photo of Saint facing what they assumed was the “wrong” direction in a car seat. She quickly shut that situation down, too, explaining that despite his young age, her son fit the weight and height requirements to sit front-facing instead of rear-facing. “It’s so crazy that people are so quick to mommy-shame when it’s like, I’m just learning it, too, so if anything, maybe people should be like, ‘Hey Kim, mom tip: Here is what you should be doing,’ not like, ‘Oh my god, let’s attack her.'”
