And they may be hard to see under her long hem, but Rihanna also opted for white strappy shoes from her luxury fashion line, Fenty. They’re not quite as affordable as the bodysuit, but they’re equally fabulous.

We’d also like to thank Rihanna for continuing to prove that the old fashion rules need not apply: If you want to wear a white suit after Labor Day, go for it. If anyone questions you, just tell them RiRi fully approves.

Lizzo's Performance at the 2019 BET Awards Was So Good Even Rihanna Gave It a Standing Ovation


Lizzo continued her domination of summer 2019 with an incredible performance of her song “Truth Hurts” at the BET Awards Sunday night, where she appeared atop a wedding cake in a veil, bridal lingerie, a killer pair of sunglasses, and twerked while playing the flute. This comes on the heels of her MTV Movie & TV Awards performance of “Juice” that featured a tribute to the movie Sister Act.

Basically, Lizzo is giving us all the viral performance clips we need and even Rihanna—and her new red hair—could not deny her excellence last night, giving her a standing ovation. Could anything feel better than a Riri standing “O”? We’re guessing not.

Now you know why Rihanna loved it—and the Internet went nuts for the moment. “Had to make a GIF of Rihanna applauding Lizzo, I now release the GIF into the wild, for the benefit of the human race,” one person tweeted.

Lizzo, herself, tweeted an image of Rihanna clapping and wrote, “That’s it… that’s the tweet ??‍♀️.”

But praise from Rihanna aside, Lizzo’s motivation for the performance was much deeper. There’s nothing I’d rather see than black girls falling in love with themselves on T.V.,” she tweeted. “Big girls— you are IT! YOU ARE ALWAYS the bride in a marriage of SELF-LOVE!”

The social media reactions from fans watching on television was incredibly positive. “Ok @lizzo you did that shit!! When you pull that flute bitch I jump out my chair!!!” Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones tweeted. “MY GIRL @LIZZO WILL GIVE YOU A PRODUCTION! THE ENERGY! THE NARRATIVE! THE COSTUMES! THE THIGHS! THE BUNDLES! THE DAGGONE FLUTE PLAYING WHILE TWERKING!” another Twitter user wrote. “@RIHANNA knows what it is everyone should be standing. The category issssss 100% THAT BISH!”

In Perfect News, Rihanna and Meghan Markle Have Reportedly Become Friends


A few weeks ago, Rihanna very causally let it slip that oh, you know, she just picked up all her things and moved to London. According to an interview she did with the The New York Times magazine, she hopped the pond to be closer to her Fenty team, and she’s enjoying things like “walking around the block.” She’s also, according to reports, used her time in the U.K. to forge a secret friendship with none other than Meghan Markle.

Yup, that’s right: Markle and Rihanna might be friends now, becoming the London power duo we didn’t know we needed. Of course, none of this is confirmed, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. But a source told *Radar Online* that the two of them had “bumped into each other a few times before Meghan was super famous and have a few mutual acquaintances on the Hollywood social scene who’ve put them in touch again recently.” Now, the source continues, “they actually have a lot in common in terms of style and a shared need for total privacy in their lives.”

Still, things haven’t moved too far along. The source claims that “Meghan is with her baby right now but once she’s back from maternity leave, hanging out with Rihanna is high on her list.” Um, yeah, hanging out with Rihanna is high on my priority list, too.

Rihanna and Prince Harry previously met at an event held by the Barbados National HIV/AIDS Commission in December 2016.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall when they’re hanging out. Do the two of them go on double dates with Prince Harry and Rihanna’s under-the-radar boyfriend, Hassan Jameel? Does Markle get free Fenty products? Do they spend time strolling the block together while trading disguise ideas? We might never know, but we support this friendship in any capacity. Rihanna Just Gave a Rare Look Into Her Relationship With Boyfriend Hassan Jameel


Rihanna gives the world so much: her music, her inclusive Fenty Beauty products, her new game-changing fashion line, and those iconic photos of her walking around with wine glasses. But one thing she doesn’t discuss much is her private life, especially her relationship with her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel—which, fair!

She made an exception, though, for her friend and Ocean’s 8 co-star Sarah Paulson in a new story for Interview magazine. In the piece, Rihanna reveals that she’s started carving out more personal time for herself—literally, her calendar is marked with a “P” on those days—and it’s in part thanks to her relationship.

“I never used to be this way. It’s only the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself, because your mental health depends on it,” she says. “If you’re not happy, you’re not going to be happy even doing things that you love doing. It’d feel like a chore. I never want work to feel like a chore.”

She continues, “My career is my purpose, and it should never feel like anything other than a happy place. I’ve made little things a big deal, like going for a walk or going to the grocery store. I got into a new relationship, and it matters to me. It was like, ‘I need to make time for this.’”

At one point in the interview the singer gives Paulson free rein to ask her anything she wants, which leads to this short, but revealing, exchange about Jameel.

“Fenty Skin” Was Officially Registered as a Trademark — Is Rihanna Launching Skin Care Soon?


Over the last two years, Fenty Beauty has brought us countless boundary-breaking launches—some of which sold out in mere hours—with the kind of inclusive marketing we’ve been waiting to see in the makeup space for years. Now, the powerhouse brand is getting ready to make its mark on the skin-care world, too, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Although details are limited, here’s what we know so far: Thanks to eagle eyes at Page Six, “Fenty Skin” was officially listed as a trademark on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s website as of March 25, 2019 (i.e. less than a month ago). You might remember that there were rumors of a Fenty skin-care line coming in September of 2017 after a fan found items like creams, lotions, gels, and cleansers, registered under “House of Fenty.” But besides the brand’s best-selling Body Lava, we’ve yet to see other complexion-care products from Fenty.

Now, though, there are specific trademarks filed under the new “Fenty Skin” label, including “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators.”

While right now it’s hard to imagine what a line of Fenty skin care would look like, something tells us it will be just as amazing and inclusive of skin types and tones — just as its makeup is. (Our girl Rihanna is behind it, after all.)

The “Fenty Skin” trademark application was just approved, albeit it still has to be viewed and signed by an attorney, a process that Page Six points out can take up to three months. In the meantime, it’s safe to say we’ll be storing away some of our precious pennies for when it does finally make its grand debut.

Of Course Rihanna Performed Her Own Song at Karaoke Last Night


Rihanna—Queen of Our Hearts, Playlists, and Beauty Collections—is now officially the Queen of Karaoke too. The multi-hyphenate performer did some karaoke last night at a party in London for her Fenty Beauty brand, and get this: She covered one of her own songs.

Fan footage from the event proves a good time was had by all, including Ms. RiRi, who looked incredible in a chartreuse minidress with a bold pink lip. Check her out singing her 2007 hit “Rehab” with YouTuber Jackie Aina. “We’d been keeping the Rih Rih event secret for months, and I’m so happy it finally happened,” Aina tweeted. “I still really can’t even believe we met, took shots with, sang karaoke with and partied with Rih!!!!!”

Aina also rapped on Rihanna’s Instagram Live.

Rihanna didn’t stop at “Rehab,” either. She also hopped on the mic to sing Brandy and Monica’s classic from 1998, “The Boy Is Mine.”

And, of course, she danced. To “Wild Thoughts!”

Oh, and played beer pong.

Rihanna even handed out the goodie bags herself.

This is the first time Rihanna’s been out in a while. We last saw the beauty mogul in February on a basketball game-date with rumored billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel. It was just one of several activities Rihanna did to celebrate her 31st birthday.

And she had a lot to celebrate. For one, her Fenty Beauty brand continues to crush the makeup game with a slew of dynamic, shade-inclusive products. “I never could have anticipated the emotional connection that women are having with the products and the brand as a whole,” Rihanna told Time magazine about Fenty in November 2017. “Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That’s something I will never get over.” She added, “I’m going to continue to have fun and push the boundaries in this industry.”
