Reese Witherspoon’s Daughter Is Now Officially Her Twin

Big Little Lies season two is just days away from premiering, and its stars all got together in New York City Wednesday night to celebrate. Reese Witherspoon, who produces the drama and plays one of its central characters, brought her daughter, Ava Phillippe, to the premiere, and their resemblance is wilder than last season’s jaw-dropping finale.

Phillippe joined her mother for a few photos on the red carpet, which show just how much she looks like her mini-me. Now 19, Phillippe is around the same age Witherspoon was when she shot some of her first films, like Freeway and Pleasantville. Phillippe arrived at the Big Little Lies premiere in a short black cocktail dress, with her blonde hair styled in casual waves.

Reese Witherspoon had her daughter when she was married to actor Ryan Phillippe, whom she co-starred with in the nineties classic Cruel Intentions. Phillippe started college last year, something that Witherspoon recently described as an emotional experience during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“It’s weird when your children go away to college,” she said.”It’s hard. I might have gone into her empty room, laid down on her bed and cried when she went to college.”

Luckily, Phillippe was back from school just in time for the season two celebration, which was also attended by Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, and yes, Meryl Streep. Streep pretty much made fans lose their minds when she decided to join Big Little Lies. She’ll play the mother of Perry Wright, Celeste’s (Kidman) abusive husband who, remember, died last season after Bonnie (Kravitz) pushed him down the stairs. The second season’s first trailer and these photos all but confirm Streep’s character will be stirring things up in a major way. The season two premiere is next Sunday, June 9 on HBO.

Princess Charlotte Officially Hit Another Royal Childhood Milestone

It’s a fact of royal fandom that everything is newsworthy when a royal child does it. Princess Charlotte turned 4? Give the people a photoshoot. Prince George has a new nickname? I’m overwhelmed by the cuteness. Archie Mountbatten-Windsor goes outside for a photo with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry? Cancel all my plans so I can stare at the pictures.

Well, another tidbit of royal childhood news for Princess Charlotte has arrived straight from Kensington Palace—and it’s bound to usher in even more heart-warming moments to distract us all come fall 2019.

Kensington Palace announced Friday (May 24) that Princess Charlotte is headed for another royal childhood milestone. Starting this September, she’ll join older brother Prince George for school at St. Thomas’s Battersea in Wandsworth, south London. The 4-year-old is moving up from Willcocks Nursery School, which she has attended since January 2018.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have yet to make a formal statement regarding Princess Charlotte’s enrollment, but it sounds like the school is excited to meet its next royal student. Its headmaster, Simon O’Malley, made a brief statement welcoming Princess Charlotte to the fold. “We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea,” he said. “We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”

What’s in store for Princess Charlotte when she starts school? There’s more to choose from than typical classroom studies: Prince George reportedly enjoys swimming and ballet lessons at school. It’s safe to say his sister will have a similar range of classes.

The news comes shortly after another sweet moment for the royal family. Last week, Prince William and Kate Middleton released a series of photos taken with their children at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Every glimpse we’ve seen of the royal family suggests that Charlotte and George are close as brother and sister can be; and the siblings that study together, stay together. I’m already anticipating all the photos of Prince William dropping the pair off at school in September—if it’s anything like Prince George’s reluctant first day, it’ll be adorable.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Are Reportedly Both Officially Single Again

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been in the process of divorcing for more than two and a half years, but it seems like things might be beginning to wrap up. People reported on Saturday (April 13) that the two are officially single again. However, there’s a twist—and it’s pretty important.

A judge has now ruled that the two can be considered single in the eyes of the law. The term for this is called “bifurcation,” and The Blast, which first broke the report, writes that the ruling in their case was filed Friday, April 12. What bifurcation does is allow them to keep hammering out the final details of their divorce while otherwise basically ending the marriage. So they’re single, but not quite yet divorced-divorced—and it’s a way for them to start getting some emotional distance as the process wraps up, too.

“We’re both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, ‘No one wins in court—it’s just a matter of who gets hurt worse,'” Pitt told GQ back in 2017, just months after the initial divorce filing. “And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you’re right and why they’re wrong, and it’s just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately my partner in this agrees. It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.”

Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, about two years after the two had married in France, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for separation and asking for custody of their six children. The divorce has definitely dragged on—mostly, reports People, due to conversations about finances and custody, and it’s still not finalized yet. But hey, it’s one step closer to closure for Brangelina.

“Fenty Skin” Was Officially Registered as a Trademark — Is Rihanna Launching Skin Care Soon?

Over the last two years, Fenty Beauty has brought us countless boundary-breaking launches—some of which sold out in mere hours—with the kind of inclusive marketing we’ve been waiting to see in the makeup space for years. Now, the powerhouse brand is getting ready to make its mark on the skin-care world, too, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Although details are limited, here’s what we know so far: Thanks to eagle eyes at Page Six, “Fenty Skin” was officially listed as a trademark on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s website as of March 25, 2019 (i.e. less than a month ago). You might remember that there were rumors of a Fenty skin-care line coming in September of 2017 after a fan found items like creams, lotions, gels, and cleansers, registered under “House of Fenty.” But besides the brand’s best-selling Body Lava, we’ve yet to see other complexion-care products from Fenty.

Now, though, there are specific trademarks filed under the new “Fenty Skin” label, including “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators.”

While right now it’s hard to imagine what a line of Fenty skin care would look like, something tells us it will be just as amazing and inclusive of skin types and tones — just as its makeup is. (Our girl Rihanna is behind it, after all.)

The “Fenty Skin” trademark application was just approved, albeit it still has to be viewed and signed by an attorney, a process that Page Six points out can take up to three months. In the meantime, it’s safe to say we’ll be storing away some of our precious pennies for when it does finally make its grand debut.

Taylor Swift Says She's Officially 'Outgrown' Her Squad

A few short years ago, no one could think of Taylor Swift without thinking of her squad—that is, the crew of women who made frequent surprise appearances at her concerts and on Instagram, including Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne. The squad appeared to dissolve during Swift’s Reputation era, which left fans wondering whether Swift and her posse were no longer friends. For some of those friendships, that is the case—and Swift just explained why.

In a new cover essay for Elle, Swift opened up about 30 lessons she’s learned in her twenties. (Swift turns 30 in November.) One big takeaway? Some of those famous squad friendships weren’t so lasting.

Taylor Swift accepted her 2015 VMAs with squad members Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss.

Christopher Polk/MTV1415

Swift describes these as “situationships,” which she has since outgrown. “Something about ‘we’re in our young twenties!’ hurls people together into groups that can feel like your chosen family,” she wrote. “And maybe they will be for the rest of your life. Or maybe they’ll just be your comrades for an important phase, but not forever. It’s sad but sometimes when you grow, you outgrow relationships. You may leave behind friendships along the way, but you’ll always keep the memories.”

Swift didn’t drop names in her essay, but a glance at her social media presence can give you an idea of who she’s spending time with now. She added that surrounding herself with a squad of friends came from insecurities she had as a kid. “Never being popular as a kid was always an insecurity for me,” she explained. “Even as an adult, I still have recurring flashbacks of sitting at lunch tables alone or hiding in a bathroom stall, or trying to make a new friend and being laughed at.”

So when the opportunity came for Swift to throw giant 4th of July parties with a crew of models and actresses, she went for it. “In my twenties I found myself surrounded by girls who wanted to be my friend,” she wrote. “So I shouted it from the rooftops, posted pictures, and celebrated my newfound acceptance into a sisterhood, without realizing that other people might still feel the way I did when I felt so alone.”

Swift added that she knows who her true friends (and fans) are today: “the ones who stuck around” during her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and the following Reputation era. “I learned that I have friends and fans in my life who don’t care if I’m #canceled. They were there in the worst times and they’re here now.”

This essay is the latest entry in Swift’s slow return to social media and the public eye. In recent months, she’s showed up at a few events, wrote a second essay for Elle UK‘s April issue, and hinted that new music is on its way. She’s also shared a few looks at her current friendships, including a hangout with Selena Gomez and Cazzie David. Fans are confident that this return to social media and the public eye all point to a new album and era for Swift—but if her essay is to be believed, the resurrection of the Swift squad won’t come with it.

Kylie Jenner Is Officially the Youngest 'Self-Made' Billionaire, According to Forbes Magazine

At a mere 21 years old, Kylie Jenner is officially the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, according to Forbes magazine. And she got there faster than the previous title-holder, Mark Zuckerberg, who reached the milestone at age 23. It also means she’s worth more than her family, including sisters Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall…and, yes, even momager Kris.

The bulk of Jenner’s worth comes, of course, from her mega-successful Kylie Cosmetics brand, which expanded via an exclusive deal with Ulta last year. Forbes notes that over the first six weeks at Ulta, Kylie Cosmetics sold $54.5 million worth of products. Based on (conservative) projections, they estimate that Kylie Cosmetics is worth $900 million—and Jenner owns the entire company. Adding in the cash that she’s already made, Jenner is a billionaire. “I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” she told Forbes. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”

No matter your opinions on the Kardashian-Jenners, that’s incredibly impressive. But what many are taking issue with online is the designation of Jenner as “self-made,” given the rich and famous family that she comes from. (You may remember a similar conversation last July when she was almost to the billion-dollar mark.)

“She founded the company. She started the company with money that she made—$250,000 from modeling,” Kerry Dolan, the assistant managing editor of Forbes explained on Today. “She owns 100% of it. We know she comes from a wealthy family, but she started the business and she owns it so, in our books, she’s self-made.”

Some people on the Internet felt differently, of course. “‘Self-made’ is so delusional too,” wrote one Twitter user. “She certainly had a head start with money in this world, every resource already at her fingertips, and a mighty nice cushion of money to fall back on had she failed. Someone like Mark Z actually innovated and created his place in the world.”

But Jenner has defenders, too. “Kylie Jenner made most of her money on her own,” said one on Twitter. “She has a business mind and honestly, has worked her ass off. Just because you come from spotlight doesn’t mean the spotlight made you. Lot of entrepreneurs out there that came from multimillionaire /billionaire parents who weren’t.”

Whether you want to categorize Jenner’s success as “self-made” or not, there’s really no denying the magnitude of it.
