H&M x Giambattista Valli: Every Single Look in the Designer Collaboration

H&M announced its latest designer collaboration—with Italian couturier Giambattista Valli—in a somewhat unprecedented fashion: by having Kendall Jenner wear one of the pieces from its collection to the Cannes Film Festival in May. The model gave us a taste of what we could expect from the highly anticipated collection (bold colors, feminine details, tons of tulle) then, but now H&M is letting everyone start planning their shopping strategy for November 7 by unleashing the full lookbook.

Giambattista Valli x H&M spans womens wear, menswear, and accessories. And the couture-inspired pieces run the gamut, from ruffled blouses and tiered gowns to logo hoodies and beanies. The prices are equally varied, ranging from $17.99 to $649, according to Vogue. As these releases usually go, the collection will be made available at select H&M stores globally and on the retailer’s website starting today, November 7—and it’s already going fast.

See every single piece in the Giambattista Valli x H&M collection, ahead.

This Alex Mill Jumpsuit Is the Single Best Thing I've Bought in 2019

“When Alex and I put together the collection, we talked a lot about making sure we had clothes that didn’t feel over-designed or overcomplicated, that were relevant to today but not trendy—that you could wear forever,” Sikhounmuong tells Glamour.”Very last minute, an idea popped into my head for a jumpsuit. I was actually on a trip [to] L.A., and I went to a vintage store and found an old flight suit.”

Courtesy of Alex Mill

It was a lightbulb moment for the designer, who took the concept and modernized it for the Alex Mill spring collection: “We tapered the leg, gave it a bit of waist definition, added some tabs, and just cleaned it up and made it a little bit more relevant to what people are doing these days,” Sikhounmuong says. The team also used a fabric that was lightweight and stretchy, something you can’t always find in vintage.

The response to the Standard Jumpsuit was strong for the get-go, Sikhounmuong says. “Even with the press appointments [before the collection dropped], we were seeing a lot of editors and people coming through and asking about that piece—when it was going to come out, how it was going to fit… When we finally launched it on the website, it quickly became one of the top styles that people were clicking on and purchasing.”

Every time I wear my jumpsuit, someone makes a comment—and even if unprompted, I’ll share the story of where I got it and who designed it.

Since introducing the Standard Jumpsuit, Alex Mill has also released a few variations on the silhouette, including a collarless one and a cargo-esque version that’s been worn by Tracee Ellis Ross. (And really, could there be a better endorsement?)

I’ve even convinced colleagues to get in on the jumpsuit action. Shanna Shipin, Glamour‘s commerce editor, first came across Alex Mill’s Standard Jumpsuit via Nikki Ogunnaike’s ode to it on Elle.com, and then started noticing it on Instagram.

She didn’t actually add it to her, though, cart until she got confirmation that you could wear it as a petite person. (Hi.) “I’m 5’2” so I lost all hope in finding a jumpsuit that actually fit me—and didn’t have a crotch that hung below my knees,” she says. “Seeing it in person on someone my height was all the proof I needed that the jumpsuit is actually an IRL version of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It looks so good on everyone. Now I’m in the sisterhood and happier than ever.”

Sikhounmuong sees the appeal of the jumpsuit as relating back to Alex Mill’s vission—”of waking up, getting dressed, and not having to overthink it. There’s nothing easier than a jumpsuit. You literally just jump into it.” He says he’ll always try work one in to his collections, “whether it be an old one that we’ve done that people love in a new color or a totally new one,” since he believes it’s important to “be consistent.”

Alex Mill’s tagline is “uniforms for individuals,” and the jumpsuit epitomizes it, according to Sikhounmuong. “It’s this idea of it being so versatile that people can put their own spin [on] it. I’ve seen it worn with the top down and tied around the waist, as a pant; I’ve seen it with a blazer over it; I’ve seen it belted, unbelted; I’ve seen it with a turtleneck underneath… It’s just been really cool to see all the options. I think people really appreciate that.”

Emma Watson Has a New Term for Being Single: 'I Call It Self-Partnered'

The world watched Emma Watson grow up on screen as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter, and soon she’ll be seen on screen as another iconic literary character: Meg March in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel Little Women. It’s a role that’s very fitting for where Watson is at in her life right now: a woman about to turn 30 who’s developed a successful career on her own terms.

And in a new interview with British Vogue, Watson opened up about how this milestone birthday. It appears she’s feeling a little on edge, in part because she “had all these ideas” about what goals she might have accomplished by 30. “I was like, ‘Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal…’” she tells the magazine. “Cut to 29, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious. And I realize it’s because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out… There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.”

The actor also opened up about her relationship status—and her anxiety around it. She’s even using a new term to describe being single. “I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel,” she says. “I was like, ‘This is totally spiel.’ It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered.”

Self-partnered. It’s an apt term for an activist like Watson, who says her favorite part about her Little Women experience was filming with women like Streep and Dern. “What was really nice about working with Laura Dern and Meryl Streep was that the three of us knew each other way before we did Little Women,” she tells British Vogue. “We met in activist spaces, so we had this allyship and solidarity as activists that had been part of a certain movement before we ever worked together.”

While many parts of Watson’s life are quite different than most of ours, the feeling she describes about turning 30 and her relationship status is so relatable. Kudos to Watson for opening up about her feelings, and a serious slow-clap for my new favorite term: self-partnered.

Glen Powell Is Single and Looking for Someone Who Likes Dancing on Tables

Probably my belly button. I’m not gonna lie—you don’t go and send pictures of your belly button to people. Today happens to not be a good belly button day. But it’s a good belly button, and it’s sort of like a mood ring for me. It tells me when we’re having a good day or a bad day. It’s a very beautiful thing on my body.

What is the weirdest thing you do in your alone time?

I have a theater in my house, and I just bought smoke machines and lasers and turned it into a club. One of my favorite things to do is send dramatic videos to my friends late at night, with the smoke machines and lasers going off, where it’s just me alone, singing Frozen. I’m a one man party, that’s for sure.

Have you ever ghosted someone?

Not on purpose. I’m just a really bad texter. Anyone who has known me for an extended amount of time knows that I mean well, I’m just really not going to text.

Screw, marry, kill: Weed, pizza, a cocktail?

I would kill weed, marry the cocktail, and fuck the pizza.

Do you have a hangover cure?

A little tequila sunrise in a sauna. It’s probably the opposite of what you’re supposed to be doing—it’s actually a really bad idea—but it works for me. It sort of numbs you to all the bad things you’re doing to your body, but I should look into it some more…

You stop by a convenience store on your way to a party. What are you buying to bring?

Water balloons and Perrier because I’m vindictive, but I’m also a classy bitch. The Perrier goes into the water balloons. Obviously, I’m a tap water guy when it comes to water balloons, but as you grow up and get more sophisticated, you Perrier your water balloons. It’s a pinky-up type of water balloon.

What’s been your favorite on-camera love scene?

In the first episode of Scream Queens, I shot a sex scene with Jamie Lee Curtis. So if you ever see me zoning out in the middle of a conversation, that’s usually what I’m thinking about.

Who was your first crush?

If Jamie Lee Curtis reads Glamour, this might freak her out. But…JLC.

You’re alone in bed, about to fall asleep: What are you thinking about?

Do we know if Jamie Lee Curtis reads Glamour?

See Every Single Look in Jason Wu's Holiday Collection for Kohl's

Jason Wu has become a master of collaboration. Following successful capsules with Eloquii and Target, the designer known for dressing Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle (among dozens of other celebrities) is releasing one of his most affordable collections to date.

In May, it was announced that he would design a holiday collection of Kohl’s, the latest capital-f Fashion name to join the retailer’s roster of private-label brands. “What we really wanted to do was create a collection that’s elevated and looks very special,” he tells Glamour of JW Jason Wu. “The idea was to provide the Kohl’s customer—or any customer, for that matter—with a collection that has a timeless quality to it.”

These pieces are meant to “stand the test of time,” he says, not speak to the specific trends of one season. Everything’s under $100, and available in sizes XS to XXL (roughly sizes 0 to 18, according to Kohl’s size chart).

In recent years, Wu has diversified his business not just by expanding his sizes (with Eloquii and 11 Honoré) and price point (with Target, and now Kohl’s), but through partnerships beyond the scope of fashion: He’s designed furniture, created a fragrance.

“The overall theme [of my work] is really timelessness, refinement, and sophistication—that’s something everybody can appreciate,” he says. “We don’t really care about trends—we care about things that make women feel beautiful.”

Regardless of the medium he’s working in, you’ll recognize a few recurring notes in the design. “I’m always very influenced by florals, and that’s really apparent here,” he says of this Kohl’s collection. (The reason? His dad is an avid gardener.) “You can see a lot of my DNA in here. Never met a dot I didn’t love. It’s about timeless beauty and femininity; great fabrics and great detail. At the same time, there’s really a great range for everyone, from things you can wear to work to a little fur coverup.”

This particular collection was conceptualized, developed, and produced in less than a year (pretty quick turnaround for a collaboration of this scale)—a result of Wu himself communicating directly with the Kohl’s team. He looked at gaps in the retailer’s inventory, and saw an opportunity to introduce more occasionwear. He pivoted accordingly.

The best feedback he got, though, didn’t come from anyone at Kohl’s HQ—rather, it was the result of visiting an actual Kohl’s in Indianapolis. “If you don’t go to the store, the data doesn’t really amount to anything,” he says. “I’m really good at that, weirdly. People are surprised.” (So, if you ever run into Wu among the racks at your local big-box store… you now know why.)

“Our mission is to make really sophisticated, refined feminine clothes,” Wu says. “Listen, I’m not the first designer to do different price points. But I do feel we do it in a way that’s modern. We treat everything the same: the way it’s shot, the way it’s styled, the way we considered it. It’s modern to think about the market as a whole, not just in our little bubble. Sometimes, we say we’re ‘fashion designers,’ but we really don’t dress most people. I want to dress more people.”

Did you all miss Meghan Markle as much as we did during her maternity leave? After taking some time with son Archie and Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex is back on her official duties—and bringing a whole lot of ‘Markle Sparkle’ during a royal tour of Africa.

After officially getting back to work last week to launch her Smart Set capsule fashion collection for charity, Markle is now in South Africa for a 10-day visit, with a focus on “community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and the environment.” With a jam-packed schedule, the Duchess of Sussex is expected to make a variety of appearances in a variety of different looks. During her royal tour of Australia, we saw her mix high and low designs—many of which were created locally—while keeping true to her style of simple silhouettes. And this trip is turning out to be no different.

As she did Down Under, Markle is already making choices that nod to the region she’s visiting by choosing a wrap dress by Mayamiko for her first appearance.
