Rihanna’s Miniature Carry-On Luggage: A Big Mood

If there was any doubt that Rihanna—the multi-hyphenate singer, songwriter, designer, muse, actress, etc.— has got us all wrapped around her finger, let us please bring your attention to her right-hand pointer. The artist landed at JFK Airport yesterday, just days before her anticipated Savage x Fenty show for New York Fashion Week. From her hand hung what we can only assume is her carry-on luggage: a handbag resembling a New York City yellow taxi. It was about the size of her palm.

The bag, a style from Delvaux’s Les Miniatures Big Apple Collection, dangled from Rihanna’s manicured fingers and accented an outfit that’s actually not too far off from what the rest of the world wears on an airplane: sweatpants and a cut-off hoodie. In photos she’s seen smiling and looking happy, which is more than many of us can say when making our way out of a crowded airport terminal.

But Rihanna is not your average flyer—nor average anyone, for that matter. Still, people had questions (and guesses as to what was in that tiny bag).

Though this is not the first time Rihanna’s dabbled in the micro bag trend, this latest style seems especially surprising in the hands of such megastar talent. One who’s on the verge of a huge New York Fashion Week moment. One who, rumor has it, will release a new album before by end of year. One who’s recently been named world’s richest female musician. And one who, well, just got off of a plane.

And yet, in this unbothered, unencumbered, big mood, there’s so much hiding up Rihanna’s sleeve at this moment, she doesn’t even need a bag. The one she’s holding is just a reminder that she has it secured.

Katie Holmes Is a Whole Fall Fashion Mood

We’ve all seen, or have lived through, the old go-through-a-breakup-and-get-a-risky-haircut move. But heading into fall 2019, Katie Holmes is embodying whatever the opposite of that tired cliché is. And a viral cashmere bra is really just the start.

A few weeks ago, just as the weather in New York dipped to a mild 70-something degrees, Holmes caused an all-out frenzy when images of her hailing a taxi in a matching cashmere bra-and-cardigan set went viral. Instagram comments flooded with support, headlines praised the unexpected look, and Holmes’ $520 Khaite bra sold out (along with its coordinating $1540 sweater). Like that, a barley-colored knit was the sexiest piece of news—not her relationship status.

But in taking a closer look at Holmes’ looks over the past several weeks, it becomes clear that the nonchalant confidence a knit bra conjures is not something the actress suddenly decided to try out, like bangs or balayage: She’s been living it. We’re talking bright Gucci logos, super oversized jackets, and subtly-glamorous T-shirt looks that embody an entire fall attitude. It’s one that honors our Hot Girl Summers and our love of all things cozy, layered all at once. Really, what more could one ask for fall? Behold some of her best recent looks, below.

Ariana Grande's Valentine's Day Manicure Is a Total Mood

Fresh off Friday’s release of thank u, next—a standout album featuring 41 minutes of extremely excellent bops that reportedly took just two weeks to produceAriana Grande is also sporting a fresh manicure. Given that Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, it’s only fitting that it’s in line with the romance-themed holiday, as she showed off on Instagram Stories on Friday with some tongue-in-cheek humor. It just might not be in the way you’d totally expect.

Grande’s 2018 was more than a little rough, romantically speaking: a breakup with Mac Miller, followed by a 0-to-100 relationship with SNL comedian Pete Davidson complete with a ring, then Miller’s death—and then a breakup with Davidson. Her time since then has been one of taking a minute for herself, and apparently, the incredible burst of creative productivity that led to her new album. As far as dating, that’s the furthest thing from her mind: As she tweeted on New Year’s in response to a fan asking who she was dating, “spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions. ?”

This spirit runs true in her Valentine’s mani, too—but with Ariana’s dry sense of humor. She posted an Instagram Story on Friday that first showed off her friend Alexa’s neon, heart-shaped, almost French manicure-like tips (we told you they’re coming back). Each one had a little Valentine’s message written on it, like what you usually get on those chalky candy hearts: “Hug me,” “Yum,”—you get it.

“Nice Valentine’s Day nails, Alexa,” Ari says as she pans the camera. “They’re so cute.” Next up is a glimpse of Ariana’s own nails, each of which is a plain baby pink except for her left ring finger, which has a “NAH” painted on it.

Her message is pretty loud and clear (and downright funny): It’s a thank u, next for Valentine’s Day this year.

Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid Taking Their Wine to Go Is a Huge Mood

Every now and then, something happens in our culture that makes you think, “Wow, I’m so thankful I’m alive to experience this.” A few quick examples include seeing Barack Obama win the presidency, last year’s solar eclipse, and, oh yeah, these photos of Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid leaving a Paris Fashion Week party with full wineglasses in their hands. There’s art, my friends, and then there’s art.

You laugh now, but someday you’ll be glad to say, “Yup, I was there when Bella and Kendall decided they weren’t finished with their wine and bravely took their glasses on the mean streets of Paris.” Talk about heroic!

Of course, cameras were there to capture Hadid and Jenner’s act of bravery. In the first photo below, you can practically hear Hadid thinking to herself, “Maybe if I start talking about dirty sneakers again, no one will notice the wine in my hands.” Meanwhile, Jenner wants the world to know she took her booze to go. She’s holding her wine proudly as if to say, “Let’s raise a glass to every time Rob regifted my Christmas presents to Blac Chyna!”

Below, Hadid and Jenner are employing the classic, “Look down, and no one will see you” technique—something anyone who’s snuck alcohol into a party knows all too well.

And here are their wine shenanigans from another angle, because why the hell not? I wonder what they’re drinking! Pinot grigio? Chardonnay? A mix of both? Don’t rule anything out! We already know from Keeping Up With the Kardashians that Jenner is a wine gal.

Whatever they’re drinking, Kris Jenner is definitely proud.

Gigi Hadid's Brandon Maxwell Rosé Bag Is a Serious Mood

For all the naysayers who think rosé season ended on Labor Day, Gigi Hadid has some news for you.

The supermodel showed up to Business of Fashion‘s 500 Gala on Sunday wearing a look plucked from the Brandon Maxwell spring 2019 runway, which she had walked the night before. Her bag, also from the show, was the highlight, though: a clear top-handle style that appeared to hold nothing more than a bottle of rosé. The accessory is equal parts fashion and function, and it’s a whole Fashion Week mood.

Here’s Gigi on the red carpet.

Considering Hadid was on day four of what is sure to be a very long, fashion-show-filled month, her accessorizing feels extremely relatable—the idea of “purse wine” during a busy work week sounds pretty good.

When Maxwell himself shared a photo of the spring 2019 bag to Instagram, the comments were just as thirsty (literally!) as you’d expect: Feedback ranged from “best accessory this NYFW so far!???” to “The bag we have been waiting for ??” to, simply, “Damn i need this in my life!” Same, TBH.

Hadid’s entire straight-off-the-runway look had us reminiscing about summer (i.e., six days ago): the bright yellow color, the easy shirtdress silhouette, the coil belt and long necklaces…. It’s making us wish for a few more weeks of warm weather.

Kristen Stewart Taking Off Her Heels on the 2018 Cannes Red Carpet Is a Mood

Kristen Stewart has been slaying her way up and down the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. But after a few days, serving lewks can feel exhausting—at least, we can *imagine..How does Stewart deal? Well, she kicks off her high heels halfway through a red carpet, because why not?

Stewart was making her way into a screening of BlacKkKlansman, Spike Lee’s latest film. And as she approached the steps to the theater, the Cannes juror appeared to be over her stilettos. In front of a mass of photographers, Stewart stopped to remove her pointy-toed black Christian Louboutin pumps; she picked them up, and carried them up the steps, barefoot. The whole sequence was, of course, documented by the aforementioned photographers, and it’s honestly relatable AF.

Here’s how it unfolded.

Though the shoes certainly complemented her long-sleeve metallic mini, a customization of a Chanel Haute Couture look from fall 2013, anyone who’s ever experienced that high-heel breaking point can understand Stewart’s rationale. Plus, this instantly iconic moment is reminiscent of Emma Thompson at the 2014 Golden Globes, when she dramatically ditched her heels onstage while addressing her fellow movie makers. Hey, stilettos are no joke.

Stewart has spoken about the footwear double standard at Cannes, which, for a while, reportedly required women to wear heels: “There’s definitely a distinct dress code… People get very upset at you if you don’t wear heels or whatever,” she told The Hollywood Reporter last year, adding that “if you’re not asking guys to wear heels and a dress, then you can’t ask me either.”

Over the weekend Stewart, along with more than 80 other actresses and filmmakers (including Ava DuVernay and Salma Hayek), participated in a silent protest on the Cannes red carpet to highlight gender inequity in the film industry.
