Kristen Bell Says She and Dax Shepard Had the Most Intense Fight Recently

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are well known as one of the most relatable couples in Hollywood. They often share hilarious parenting moments with their two daughters, like this video of Bell listening to her husband talk about the middle finger. Or the time the kids walked in on them having sex.

But anyone who’s ever been in a long-term relationship, let alone a marriage, knows that it’s not all sunshine and roses. Bell recently opened up about one of the couple’s fights and why they’re so up-front about their relationship—and, honestly, it makes them even more endearing, if you can imagine that.

“Something happened with Dax and I early on where we decided we were never going to not be asked about our relationship,” Bell told fellow actor Justin Long on his podcast, according to People. “So if we were going to talk about it, let’s make sure we show the good, the bad, and the ugly and how we handle it. Let’s not make it saccharine, and we really try hard to not make it saccharine, and we talk about the fact that we do fight, we do go to therapy, we dislike each other a lot sometimes.”

The fight in question began simply enough, over stuff that needed to get done around the house. “It was about the things around the house that I felt I needed help with. We have a relationship where you are supposed to be able to say, ‘I need your help with this,’” she said. “For those of you listening, I’m telling this from my perspective. He’s not here; he can’t defend himself.

“I left a note and I was like, ‘Hey dad! Would you mind taking the two towels in the dryer and folding them’ and then, like, one other thing. I thought, That’s 10 minutes of work, I can say that,” she continued. “At that point the house [work] was getting to be a lot for me. The keeping up with the mom stuff, the shoes being outgrown, all of that. So I left this note and I came home on Sunday—everything was fine. Monday night we’re laying in bed and…he goes, ‘When you leave me notes, yeah, I feel really controlled,’ and he launched into how he felt about it.”

The Good Place actor says she took a beat. “And I said, ‘Okay, I totally hear you. It will never happen again. If I need something to be done around the house, what is a way I can do it that you’d be okay with hearing?’” But the calm emotions did not prevail.

This Video of Kristen Bell Listening to Dax Shepard Discuss the Middle Finger With Their Daughter Is Everything

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are two of the most down-to-earth celebrity couples around, and they’ve never shied away from letting the world in on some of the parenting successes and failures. (See also: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.)

While the couple is pretty protective of their daughters’ privacy—you won’t see Delta and Lincoln’s faces in images on their parents’ social media feeds—they do share some incredibly hilarious family moments. Case in point: A video Bell posted over the weekend in which she is desperately trying not to laugh as her husband discusses the meaning of the middle finger with one of their daughters.

The little girl says that a boy at school throws up the middle finger often. “He says this is ‘f–k,'” she tells her dad. “He says that every time in school.”

“He does? He’s naughty,” Shepard says.

“The teacher says that’s a bad word,” she replies.

“Yeah, that’s not a nice word,” her dad tells her. “You know that that’s a naughty finger, and I never see you do that. It makes me so proud that you know that, yet you don’t do it. Well, you did it a couple of times when you were young, before you knew it was a naughty word. One time you couldn’t get a shirt on in your bedroom, and you let it fly. Then later that day, you were in the swimming pool, and you let one fly. But since then you’ve really curbed it.”

“I have been waiting for this conversation since the day I got pregnant,” Bell wrote on Instagram. “The one where we talk about what fingers mean what when u hold em up. I [am] fidgeting because I am trying so hard not to laugh. It’s excruciating. @daxshepard you handled this brilliantly.”

Here’s a clip of the moment below.

We agree with Bell—well done, Dax.

Vanderpump Rules' Stassi, Katie, and Kristen Made a Rosé That's as Easy as 'Drinking Water'

“I don’t know if people know or realize that we—Katie, Stassi, and I—had full creative control,” Kristen says. “Not only over using the wine and the wine’s taste, but the actual label. We created that completely from scratch on our own.”

“I think people are often very surprised by how good it is,” Katie adds. “And that was very important to us because we don’t drink shitty wine.”

“Well, we used to,” Stassi says.

So considering this wine is meant to be enjoyed at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I wanted Katie, Kristen, and Stassi to tell me their tips and tricks for all-day drinking—and the next day hangover. See their advice, below.

Plan the right environment.

A theme is always a good idea for a summer party, Kristen advises, but make sure you schedule an end time for the event. “I think what’s really important is that you have a cutoff time, if you’re having people over, for your guests to leave so you can unwind and drink wine alone with your TV,” Kristen explains. “That’s really important.”

She suggests wine pong as an activity, though Katie and Stassi aren’t big on drinking games with their rosé. “I just need to enjoy my wine,” Stassi says. “Yeah,” Katie adds, “I guess my only game would be, like, drink this glass of wine before the ice melts.”

Don’t stray from the rosé—and eat lots of carbs.

But if this wine is meant to be consumed all day long, how does you keep from going too hard too soon? “Stick to the same thing,” Stassi says. “If you’re gonna commit to day drinking it’s best to drink the same thing, [so we wanted] a rosé that’s really easy that people aren’t going to get sick of.”

“Also, you don’t have to be ashamed of adding a little club soda to make a little spritzer,” Katie says. Adds Kristen, “We’re not against icing your wine either!”

The women also advise adding water and food into the equation, especially “carbs” or their favorite, Taco Bell. (Speaking of which, they recommend pairing Potion Two with a Doritos Loco Taco, Chalupa Supreme, or “anything with the nacho cheese.”)

Maybeee don’t drink more than two and a half bottles.

The three famously have alter egos—The Dark Passenger, Crazy Kristen, and Tequila Katie—that emerge after one too many drinks. They’re the kind of creatures you might buy a crystal to ward yourself against: They throw their phone on the ground and cry because their boyfriend won’t come to bed. They fall dramatically in the middle of a hotel lobby. They send rage texts from an airline’s economy seat.

When I ask how much rosé it’d take to bring these … powerful beings to the forefront, the women agree it’s probably around two and a half bottles. “It depends on if you’re in the sun all day, because if you are, the Dark Passenger, Tequila Katie, and Crazy Kristen come out a lot quicker with a minimal amount of alcohol,” Stassi says.

“I would say it’s like waking up in the morning in a really great mood, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, let’s get this!’ You know? You have a little breakfast, and you’re like I’m gonna have a little beverage cocktail. Then you’re going to hang out by the pool all day with your friends and drink. And then around, like, 6:00 p.m. that’s when things get dark,” Katie says.

Adds Kristen, “I don’t blame that on alcohol, I blame that on dehydration. What I like about our wine is that it doesn’t bring out crazy Kristen.”

Kristen Bell Powerfully Opened Up About Husband Dax Shepard's Sobriety

The phrase “relationship goals” can feel overused these days, but when it comes to Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, it’s beyond apt. The couple is always super-honest—and often hilarious—about what it takes to make their marriage work. But they also just seem to enjoy each other so much—even when discussing tough subjects.

Case in point: Shepard’s sobriety, something that he’s been really transparent about over the years. In an interview with People published Saturday, Bell talks about how appreciative she his for the work her husband does to maintain a sober lifestyle. “I know how much effort has to be put into staying sober. I don’t mean that to be like, I come home and see him shaking and looking at a whiskey ad or something, [but] there are different elements you have to deal with when you’re staying sober,” she says. “It’s a ton of mental control and evolution.”

To make Shepard’s accomplishment, the couple celebrate his “sober birthday” each year, just as one might a regular birthday. She “spoils the hell out of me,” he says. “The nicest presents she’s gotten me are always on my sober birthday. In fact, my real birthday … still haven’t gotten a present!”

“I’m very happy he was born so I celebrate his birthday, but I’m extraordinarily [happy] that he has stayed sober because that’s what allows me to have him in my life as a husband and as a father,” Bell added.

She’s also spoken out on Instagram to publicly show her pride for her husband’s sobriety, too. “I know how much you loved using. I know how much it got in your way. And I know, because I saw, how hard you worked to live without it,” she wrote on his 14th sobriety birthday last September. “I will forever be in awe of your dedication, and the level of fierce moral inventory you perform on yourself, like an emotional surgery, every single night.”

“I’m so proud that you have never been ashamed of your story, but instead shared it widely, with the hope it might inspire someone else to become the best version of themselves. You have certainly inspired me to do so,” she continued. “I love you more than I ever thought I could love anyone, and I want you to know, I see you. I see how hard you work. You set an excellent example of being human. Happy 14th year sobriety birthday.”

Supportive even through the tough stuff—now that’s a real couple goal.

Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska Are Your New *Charlie's Angels*

On Thursday (July 26), Variety confirmed that Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska have officially joined the new Charlie’s Angels reboot as, you guessed it, the three Angels. The new movie will be directed by Elizabeth Banks, who’s also playing the Angels’ manager, Bosley.

Per Variety, this new Charlie’s Angels will focus on a new generation of Angels working for the ubiquitous Charlie. Apparently, the movie’s Townsend Agency hub is now a huge organization, with teams of agents working cases worldwide. The film will focus on three members of one of those “teams” (Stewart, Scott, and Balinska) as they work a big mission. Other details are sparse, but we do have a confirmed premiere date: September 27, 2019.The last major iteration of Charlie’s Angels happened in 2000, with Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz stepping into the roles.

Stewart, of course, achieved worldwide fame when she starred in the Twilight series nearly a decade ago. Meanwhile, you might know Scott from her recent work in Power Rangers or future work in the live-action Aladdin (she’s playing Jasmine). Balinska is best known for her television work in the U.K., such as Midsomer Murders and Casualty. Banks told Variety she’s excited to make a movie about a “new era of modern and global Angels.”

Charlie’s Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s,” Banks said. “This film honors the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.” Is it next September yet?

Kristen Stewart Taking Off Her Heels on the 2018 Cannes Red Carpet Is a Mood

Kristen Stewart has been slaying her way up and down the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. But after a few days, serving lewks can feel exhausting—at least, we can *imagine..How does Stewart deal? Well, she kicks off her high heels halfway through a red carpet, because why not?

Stewart was making her way into a screening of BlacKkKlansman, Spike Lee’s latest film. And as she approached the steps to the theater, the Cannes juror appeared to be over her stilettos. In front of a mass of photographers, Stewart stopped to remove her pointy-toed black Christian Louboutin pumps; she picked them up, and carried them up the steps, barefoot. The whole sequence was, of course, documented by the aforementioned photographers, and it’s honestly relatable AF.

Here’s how it unfolded.

Though the shoes certainly complemented her long-sleeve metallic mini, a customization of a Chanel Haute Couture look from fall 2013, anyone who’s ever experienced that high-heel breaking point can understand Stewart’s rationale. Plus, this instantly iconic moment is reminiscent of Emma Thompson at the 2014 Golden Globes, when she dramatically ditched her heels onstage while addressing her fellow movie makers. Hey, stilettos are no joke.

Stewart has spoken about the footwear double standard at Cannes, which, for a while, reportedly required women to wear heels: “There’s definitely a distinct dress code… People get very upset at you if you don’t wear heels or whatever,” she told The Hollywood Reporter last year, adding that “if you’re not asking guys to wear heels and a dress, then you can’t ask me either.”

Over the weekend Stewart, along with more than 80 other actresses and filmmakers (including Ava DuVernay and Salma Hayek), participated in a silent protest on the Cannes red carpet to highlight gender inequity in the film industry.
