Fans Think Taylor Swift's Being Nude in the '…Ready for It?' Video Is a Dig at Kanye West

Taylor Swift released a teaser for her “…Ready for It?” music video yesterday, and it looks amazing. From the 10 seconds we saw, it appears Swift plays some kind of neon, crime-fighting robot. Her eyes glow in the dark at one point. Lightning bolts shoot out of her hands. Oh, and she appears to be naked.

That last tidbit, naturally, sent the Internet into a tailspin. (Although it really shouldn’t have. Naked people aren’t a big deal, but here we are.) Granted, Swift’s nudity isn’t confirmed, but it sure looks like she’s sporting her birthday suit while battling these futuristic bad guys. Why is she naked, though? Fans have been chattering about this for the past 24 hours, and one theory is dominating the conversation: Kanye West.

The Internet seems to think Swift’s nudity is a not-so-subtle dig at West’s “Famous” video, in which a Swift mannequin lies next to him…completely naked. Remember when that happened?

“IS IT JUST ME OR DID EVERYBODY ELSE REALIZE THAT TAYLOR PUTTING ON A BODY SUIT AND LOOKING NAKED IS HER WAY OF DISSING KANYE & HIS FAMOUS MV,” one fan tweeted shortly after the “…Ready for It?” teaser dropped. “Remember when Kanye had that ‘naked’ Taylor for famous? She’s turning it back with android naked Taylor for#ReadyForItMusicVideo,” wrote another. Here are a few more tweets that allude to the same theory:

So is this true? It’s certainly possible. Swift’s Reputation era, thus far, has been all about firing back at the negative stories and feuds that followed her in 2016. Swiping West by stripping down perfectly aligns with that theme. We’ll probably never know for sure, though—Swift isn’t really doing press for this album—so let the theorizing continue.

Taylor Swift Told Fans Her New Song 'Gorgeous' Is About Joe Alwyn

An FBI-level investigation ensues whenever Taylor Swift releases a new song. When “Look What You Made Me Do” came out, fans spent hours decoding the lyrics and writing theories. They did the same for the music video and also for “…Ready for It?,” her second promo single, which dropped the next week. There’s a lot to unpack with these releases, too: Swift is a crafty wordsmith. She has a knack for writing lyrics that seem obvious at first but actually have secret, mysterious meaning.

And the same thing can be said for “Gorgeous,” the track she released last night. However, fans won’t have to give up their weekends figuring out the subject of this one: Swift already spilled the beans.

Well, she (allegedly) spilled the beans to the 300 fans who attended her Reputation secret listening sessions. One of those lucky Swifties took to Tumblr and wrote, “Basically Taylor made us all promise that if anyone made any accusations of who this song is about, we tell them it is 100 percent about her angel boyfriend of one year. This isn’t a secret. She wanted us to tell people.” (Swift’s been dating actor Joe Alwyn for a year.) See their post for yourself, below:

It’s great Swift’s being so transparent about “Gorgeous,” but, honestly, the lyrics aren’t that tough to crack. “You should take it as a compliment / That I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk,” she sings at one point. (Alwyn is British.) “And I got a boyfriend, he’s older than us / He’s in the club doing, I don’t know what,” she sings again. Alwyn is 26, and the two men who Swift could be referring to as her boyfriend—Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston—are both older than him, though our money’s on Harris, considering he’s one of the highest-paid DJs in the world. Regardless, it’s pretty obvious “Gorgeous” is about Alwyn—but, hey, at least now we know for sure.

Fans Caught Selena Gomez and The Weeknd on the Scariest Date Last Night

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd don’t let their busy schedules get in the way of couple’s time. Gomez proved this last week when she flew from New York City to Vancouver just for a quick getaway, and The Weeknd did something similar in July when he jetted from Paris to Los Angeles just to spend time with Gomez on her birthday. Listen, when you’re two in-demand pop stars, you have to do what it takes to make a relationship work.

Case in point: Last night, the couple was spotted getting their spook on at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles. For context, the Weeknd was in Sacramento literally the day before on tour, and he’s headed to Anaheim today for another show. That’s a lot of traveling, and yet he still found some time to be cute with Gomez in an amusement park.

Well, as cute as you can be in the rain. The videos fans captured of Gomez and The Weeknd at the park showed them (and the other visitors) wearing hoodies and plastic raincoats, so the weather wasn’t exactly ideal for a date. Of course, they looked better than most people do in horrible weather.

Check out some of the videos and photos fans captured, below:

Gomez and The Weeknd rarely talk about their relationship, but they have no issues showing a little PDA or doing things where photographers can spot them. “It’s really hard when I would want to spend so much time hiding things,” Gomez said over the summer. “It’s too much pressure, and I think everyone gets over everything eventually. I just want to be happy. If that’s me just being myself, then I don’t really care.”

Make Up For Ever Reminded Fans of Its Shade Range, Rihanna Noticed

Over the past month, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has been swimming in accolades for its inclusive, 40-shade foundation range—something that ought to be given if you’re selling foundation, but as sales of her darker shades prove, is still a novelty. One of the other makeup brands that gets it is Make Up For Ever. It’s offered that same range, 40 shades with options on either end of the spectrum, since 2015—which it not so subtly reminded fans in an Instagram post on Tuesday, captioned “40 shades is nothing new to us -?-.” You see where this is going, right?

Fenty Beauty fans and members of Rihanna’s Navy took none too kindly to the perceived shade over shades. And then this happened: Rihanna, herself, slid into the comments, leaving not one but two messages for the brand: “Lol still ashy” and “Shook.”

The first addresses an issue black women from Naomi Campbell to Duckie Thot have brought up time and time again: the ashy cast that certain deep foundation shades leave on the skin of women of color. Her second, well, what do you expect when you come for Rihanna?

While neither brand has made an official statement, Twitter has come to a rather different conclusion.

Personally speaking, Make Up For Ever was the first brand that made a foundation that truly matched my skin. Its also been one of the leaders in the industry that prioritize women who fall outside the realm of beige—as its campaign starring Khoudia Diop earlier this year proved.

In a post-Fenty world, it’s clear if brands want to keep up, quantity and quality should be the norm. Just maybe don’t bring Rih into it. She’ll notice.

Taylor Swift's New Single Is Rumored To Be 8 Minutes Long—and Fans Have a Lot of Theories

PHOTO: Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images

Since Taylor Swift released the details of her upcoming album (Reputation, out November 10) and its first single (dropping “tomorrow night,” whatever that means) without any warning on Wednesday, the Internet has been sent into a spiral of excitement, speculation, and really good reaction GIFs. Fans have moved on from the three cryptic snake videos she posted and are now doing everything they possibly can to uncover any additional information about the upcoming album and single release—and one Swiftie appears to have stumbled upon a very interesting tidbit.

According to Select All, a fan going by username levi_valvi on pop culture forum ATRL.net uncovered the Reputation album cover and a mostly empty (keyword: mostly) track listing almost an hour before Taylor revealed the news herself, just by trying out different extensions on the TaylorSwift.com URL. Levi_valvi posted their findings on ATRL, and though the post and website glitch have since been wiped clean, several people took screenshots of the user’s discovery and have posted them on Twitter.

Levi_valvi’s screenshots appear to show a page of the official Taylor Swift website featuring Reputation‘s black-and-white album art, links to purchase the album on iTunes and other sites, and, perhaps most significantly, a 12-song track listing showing blank spaces for every entry except track four, which is labeled “First Single” and has a run time of a whopping eight minutes and 47 seconds, which—what?! While Taylor has never shied away from surpassing the industry standard of about three minutes per song (her longest track so far, “Dear John,” clocks in at a lengthy six minutes and 43 seconds), it’s unclear what she could possibly include in a nearly nine-minute song. Naturally, the Swifties have their theories.

“The lead single is 8 mins long [because] it contains [the] uncut [version] of the ‘famous’ phone call,” one stan tweeted, referencing the recorded phone call Kim Kardashian released on Snapchat last summer to prove that Taylor had in fact given Kanye West permission to sing about her in his 2016 song “Famous.” Others theorized that Taylor’s following in the footsteps of rock artists like Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, and The Doors, all of whom recorded songs well over 10 minutes long. “9 minute single? I really appreciate how Taylor Swift is finally going back to her prog rock roots #reputation #featuringKingCrimson,” one wrote. And still other superfans remembered that one of Taylor’s co-writers told Yahoo! that 2012’s “All Too Well” was originally “10, 12, or 15 minutes long,” and they are now guessing that the new track is either a followup or the original, uncut version of the emotional ballad. “Lead single is 9 minutes long yep All Too Well 2.0 is coming,” one Twitter user wrote.

Keep in mind that Taylor’s camp has yet to confirm this rumor (or any other)—but maybe block out a full nine minutes tomorrow night just in case.
