Emilia Clarke Was Told She’d ‘Disappoint’ Her Fans If She Didn’t Go Nude for a Project


In a new episode of Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast, Emilia Clarke reveals she was told she’d “disappoint” her Game of Thrones fans if she didn’t go nude on another project.

The actor started the interview with Shepard by talking about those initial nude scenes on GoT. (She played Daenerys on the hit HBO series for eight seasons.) “I’d come fresh from drama school, and I was like, ‘Approach this as a job.’ If [nudity’s] in the script, then it’s clearly needed. This is what this is and I’m gonna make sense of it,” she said, according to Us Weekly. “I’m floating through this first season and I have no idea what I’m doing. I have no idea what any of this is. I’ve never been on a film set like this before, I’d been on a film set twice before then, and I’m now on a film set completely naked with all of these people, and I don’t know what I’m meant to do and I don’t know what’s expected of me.”

Eventually Clarke started pushing back on the scenes—and she had the support of her costar Jason Momoa. “He was like, ‘No sweetie, this isn’t okay,’” Clarke recalled on the podcast.

Now, Emilia Clarke says things are different. Spending eight years playing the Mother of Dragons taught her to speak up when she’s uncomfortable. During the chat with Shepard, she gave an example of a time she was asked to go nude for a project—and that she’d be “disappointing” her GoT fans if she didn’t do it.

“Now things are very, very, very different, and I’m a lot more savvy about what I’m comfortable with and what I’m okay with doing,” she said. “I’ve had fights on set before where I’m like, ‘No, the sheet stays up,’ and they’re like, ‘You don’t wanna disappoint your Game of Thrones fans.’ And I’m like, ‘F–k you’…. I feel like I’ve seen enough now to know what is actually needed. I was also, little did I know, protected by the show in terms of the storytelling being at a very high level and people they were hiring being at a very high level.”

Bella Thorne Had a Powerful Response to a Hacker Who Threatened to Leak Her Nude Photos


Bella Thorne has never shied away from expressing herself and letting the world know exactly what she thinks—especially when it comes to clapping back at people who try to threaten her online. Now, she’s doing it again, and this time, it’s about a super-personal matter: After a hacker allegedly stole nude photos from Thorne, she took a stand and decided to release them herself.

The actress tweeted out the naked images early Saturday morning, along with a powerfully worded note. “Yesterday as you all know, my shit was hacked,” she wrote. “For the last 24 hours, I have been threatened with my own nudes. I feel gross, I feel watched, I feel someone has taken something from me that I only wanted one special person to see.” She also says that the person has sent her compromising photos of other celebrities along with her own and that “he won’t stop with me or them, he will just keep going.” Instead, she took a proactive approach—or, in her words: “Here’s my boobies.”

“For too long I let a man take advantage of me over and over and I’m f*cking sick of it,” she continued in the note. “NOW U DON’T GET TO TAKE ANOTHER THING FROM ME. I can sleep tonight better knowing I took my power back. U can’t control my life, u never will.”

“I can sleep better tonight knowing I took my power back,” Thorne added. “U can’t control my life. U never will.” She also says the alleged hacker should be on the lookout for the FBI, but does not give any specifics on that front.

Thorne’s fans offered support in the replies. “Babe don’t let them control you. We are all here for you. We got you. Karma will find its way ?,” one wrote. Another said, “You took the power back from this piece of shit. That’s real strength. I love you.”

Thorne certainly isn’t the first celebrity to be faced with the exploitation of her personal and private images. Back in 2014, Jennifer Lawrence was the victim of an iCloud hack and had her nude photos published online. “I feel like I got gangbanged by the f-cking planet—like, there’s not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me,” she later said. “You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process.”

Sexting 101: Your Complete Guide to Sending and Receiving Nude Photos


Sexting with a partner can be thrilling. It can also be nerve-raking. How can you be sure they’re the only one who will see a racy pic? What if they send you a nude photo, but you don’t feel comfortable returning the favor? What’s the appropriate way to respond if you like what you see? And what if you get a nude pic that’s not appreciated?

Sending and receiving nude photos can be amazing, but only if everyone is on the same page. “In terms of pictures, consent and communication are needed as they are in all sexual interactions, off or online,” says Laurie Mintz, Ph.D., a sex therapist, psychologist, and author of Becoming Cliterate.

Here’s how to handle every sexting situation that comes your way.

Situation 1: Your partner asks for a nude photo

First things first: It’s completely up to you if you’re willing to get naked in front of the camera. (If full-on nudity isn’t your thing, you might try something more subtle like underwear or even just a t-shirt.)

Second, be aware that sending a nude photo always entails some risk, says Mintz. The question to ask yourself is, “How sure are you this would not be someone who would show these photos to someone else or post them in revenge if you break up?” she says. “You need to be aware that trust can be broken.”

To practice safer sexting, at the very least, add a passcode to your phone and have your partner do the same. Cropping your face out of any photos also helps to minimize privacy concerns. To really be protected, consider using an encrypted app like DiscKreet which adds an extra layer of protection to your peace of mind. Messages and photos sent between partners in the app require two passwords to open at any given time—in other words, you have to give your consent every time a partner wants to view your photos.

Situation 2: You want to send a nude photo to someone

You’re comfortable enough with someone to take your texting to the next level? Awesome. Just make sure they’re on board, too, since not everyone has the same comfort level.

Rule number one: Always ask before sending an unsolicited racy photo. “If they reply with enthusiasm, you’ve got the green light,” says Astroglide’s resident sexologist Jess O’Reilly, Ph.D. “If they say no or sound unsure, respect their boundaries. Sexting can be hot, but there are many other hot activities in which to engage if it’s not your partner’s cup of tea.”

Situation 3: You want your partner to send a nude photo

When you’re asking for a photo, the same rules apply: make sure your partner enthusiastically consents before engaging in any nude photo exchange. Mintz recommends a simple, clear request like “I’d love to get a picture of your XX.”

Most importantly, don’t pressure them, and don’t take it personally if they say “no,” says O’Reilly. They may be concerned about privacy or just not feel comfortable with it, but that doesn’t reflect how they feel about you.

Situation 4: You get a photo you like but aren’t sure where to take it from there

Sexting can be fantastic foreplay—it can also be a little awkward to get the hang of. Once you get a sexy photo from your partner, it’s not uncommon to draw a blank on what to say next, especially if this is a new activity for you or your partner.

Spoiler alert: “Nice!” probably won’t cut it. Taking a mental health day to binge watch Game of Thrones is nice. Scoring the last spot in your favorite SoulCycle class is nice. When someone get’s vulnerable enough to share a nude photo, you can do better than nice.

Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review


At first, I didn’t understand the hype surrounding Huda Beauty. While everyone else was singing endless praises of the Rose Gold palette on Instagram and urging me to try it, I simply lifted one shoulder in the weary shrug of someone who has swatched approximately 53,857,612 eyeshadows. Objectively, I could see the appeal of Huda Kattan’s viral line; the glimmering textures and the vibrant shades certainly looked beautiful in the link a coworker sent me. Subjectively? I was more interested in what the cafeteria was serving for lunch that day.

That all changed late last year when fate made Huda’s Desert Dusk palette land on my desk, so I could finally experience love at first sight. I lifted the lid, and the 18 pans of color bewitched me on the spot. I wore them daily after that, reveling in their perfect textures and mesmerizing hues. Everywhere I went, someone would unfailingly comment on my eye makeup—makeup artists, editors, friends, and once, even an A-list celebrity. And since I usually smeared them on with my fingers, I knew it was the palette (not my less-than-stellar application skills) that deserved the credit.

So when Glamour‘s senior beauty editor, Lindsay Schallon, texted me about Huda’s latest release, I experienced prickles of intrigue. “I never wear eyeshadow and this changed me,” she insisted. “You’ll be obsessed.” In all the time that I have known her, I have heard her wax rhapsodic about many things—including dainty necklaces and her cat—but never eyeshadow. [Editor’s note: It’s true] I knew I had to investigate further.

The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette launched earlier this month, and it’s already racked up plenty of rave reviews on social media. Kattan specifically designed it to house a balance of cool and warm tones, cycling through countless color variations and textures until she landed on the final result. The goal was to “reinvent” traditional nude palettes since “today everyone has their own interpretation of nude,” she said. I’ll admit that my all-consuming love for Desert Dusk gave me tunnel vision, so I initially scrolled right past the more mellow selection of pinks, berries, and neutrals. But, when I gave it a second look in person, I instantly understood why so many people were falling hard for another one of her creations.

Like the other palettes Huda Beauty sells, the New Nude also contains 18 pans. But, because Kattan is a makeup queen that never stops innovating, there are additional surprises inside. Ten of the shades are satin mattes—smooth (thanks to aloe vera and coconut oil), flat colors with a soft-focus finish. I love these for blending and building dimension. Then, there are four multi-reflective pearls, a formula that combines the best qualities of duo-chrome and metallic shadows. Two pressed glitters, a creamy pressed pearl, and a beige cream base complete the set.

To truly understand the genius of the New Nude, you really need to see it in person. I found myself so inspired by the dazzling selection that I even used her eyeshadow brushes instead of my fingers to complete my masterpieces—a rare occurrence. I first tried layering a selection of plum and berry shades: Raw, Kinky, Fantasy, Excite, and Teddy. After filling up my camera roll with the appropriate number of selfies (500, give or take a few), I tried a pairing that emphasized the iridescent quality of her multi-reflective pearl formula. Layering Charmed and Play resulted in a dreamy lid wash that alternately flashed violet and peach in the cool winter light. Finally, I mixed Crave, Play, and Infatuated. The combination was subtle, but it coated my eyes in a gleaming halo of shimmer. Picture the inside of a seashell bathed in gentle mood lighting. That was me at the end of this process—cue another 500 selfies.

I won’t be giving up Desert Dusk anytime soon (or ever, really), but if you only buy one palette this year, this is it. Plus, take it from me: Once you get your hands on it, you won’t be able to let go.

See Fenty Beauty's Nude Stunna Lip Paints on 4 Women


When Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint last year—a bold blue-red shade based off her signature look—she didn’t just drop a red lipstick. Rih went all out with a weightless formula that glides on smooth and dries into a velvety matte finish. The brand flooded Instagram with photos of everyone from Slick Woods to Duckie Thot wearing the color to show how versatile it was. And Rihanna even made her own Insta tutorial for it. Honestly, would you expect anything less?

Which is why it should come as no surprise that now, almost a year later, she’s coming in even hotter with four new additions to the Stunna family. This time, they’re nudes for every skin tone. And black—because in Rihanna’s world, you better believe that’s a neutral. As Fenty revealed the colors one by one last week, the fan responses came pouring in. Women of color praised Fenty for finally creating a nude in mind for dark skin (a “universal chocolate brown” called Unveil), which the brand says went through rigorous testing to confirm the claim. The black (surprise, surprise) was also met with similar enthusiasm, if not some slight hesitation.
