Fans Are Convinced Ariana Grande Will Perform With 'NSync at Coachella

Ariana Grande is set to perform as the youngest-ever headliner at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival tonight (April 14) in Indio, California. But there might be another surprise in store: Very excited, eagle-eyed fans are theorizing that four members of ‘NSync (Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez) are set to join her on stage.

They’re drawing their conclusions from two different ‘NSync-themed videos the “Sweetener” singer recently posted to her Twitter account after TMZ published a report that seems to confirm a vague “collaboration” that’s “definitely” set to take place on Sunday.

On April 11, Grande shared throwback footage of her younger self and her mother, Joan Grande, at a late-‘90s ‘NSync concert. A young Grande and her mother are seen singing along to the boy band’s hit song “It Makes Me Ill.”

Then, just one hour later, the Grammy award winner posted a second video to her account with the caption, “the best medicine 90s baby.” In the 9- second clip, a present day Grande lip-syncs and dances to the group’s hit single “Tearin’ Up My Heart” with a gigantic smile on her face.

There’s been no actual confirmation from the festival or either of the performers’ reps, so it’s still unclear exactly what’s going on. However, her manager Scooter Braun has definitely been adding fuel to the fire ahead of her set.

Braun tweeted, “Coachella you have no idea what’s coming!” Then he responded to her throwback video writing, “Little Ari and Nsync :)”

And as recently as this morning Braun’s been teasing tonight’s concert.

To top it all off, a fan noticed that ‘NSync member JC Chasez started following Ariana on Instagram last night.

If this surprise collaboration does go down tonight—and only time will tell at this point—it will be the first time ‘NSync has performed as a band since 2013. But we’ll start looking for our old concert T-shirts, just in case.

Ariana Grande Just Updated a Tattoo She Got With Pete Davidson

Ariana Grande kicks off her Sweetener World Tour tonight (March 18) in Albany, New York, and she marked the occasion in a very Ariana Grande way: with a new tattoo.

After finishing late-night rehearsals, Grande hit up her regular tattoo artist Mira Mariah, a.k.a. @girlknewyork, for the latest addition to her ever-evolving body art. The new leaves on her upper torso surround the “always” tattoo she got during her relationship with Pete Davidson. (He also got a matching one at the time.) Grande insists she’s not trying to cover anything up, though—the “always” tattoo is still totally visible inside one of the new leaves.

“Post run thrus, 3 am with @girlknewyork 🙂 not a cover up just evolvin ? also, our show opens tomorrow,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love u and i’m so grateful. see u soon.” Mariah said of her latest creation, “Middle of the night leaves on the queen. I love you thank you this is all! So! Exciting! Happy tour ???”

Grande has covered up at least some of her Davidson-era ink. A few months ago, she had Myron—the name of Mac Miller’s dog—placed over the tattoo she got of Davidson’s father’s firefighter badge number. She also replaced her “Reborn” tattoo with a feather.

Of course, none of these tattoo stories top when she tried to get “7 Rings” inked on her hand in Japanese kanji, but a mistake made it actually read “tiny barbecue grill.” She promptly had it fixed. “Thanks to my tutor for helping me fix and to @kanenavasard for being a legend. And to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). RIP tiny charcoal grill. Miss you man. I actually really liked u,” she posted at the time.

Grande’s Sweetener World Tour is expected to run from March to October and will cover both North America and Europe.

Ariana Grande Has Unveiled Her Very Own Cloud-Themed Starbucks Drink

Yesterday, March 4, Ariana Grande posted a mysterious tweet directed at Starbucks that featured a string of seemingly random emojis. But it turns out, she wasn’t just craving caffeine. The singer just unveiled that she’s actually teamed up with the coffee company to release her very own drink: the Cloud Macchiato.

Starbucks then revealed in a tweet that the new drink comes in caramel and cinnamon, and it’s so “light and fluffy they’re basically a cloud in a cup.” No, there is no Grande-branded sweetener involved, but the concoction does contain a vanilla-flavored foam made with egg white powder, which causes it to appear cloud-like. That frothy quality also explains why the company had been non-stop tweeting about clouds in the last 24 hours.

“We’ve long been fans of Ariana Grande’s (and we’re both fans of Clouds), so we’re excited to work with her to celebrate the debut of Cloud Macchiato,” Starbucks said in a statement, according to USA Today.

Ariana, meanwhile, tweeted a few photos in a Starbucks apron and hash-tagged them #starbucksambassador. Within just a few minutes, fans had already swarmed their local baristas and started posting pictures of the drink. One fan, whom Ariana retweeted, let the world know that they could “officially confirm that the caramel cloud macchiato does indeed slap.”

However, others had some very legitimate questions. The egg white powder doesn’t appear to be safe for vegans who still want a side of cloud in their beverage. And others took issue with Ariana partnering up with a big corporation so close to International Women’s Day, calling it a version of “branded female empowerment.” (Starbucks has shared that for International Women’s Day, they’re also planning to release two playlists, one which will include Grande.)

“You cannot write better parody of woke capitalism than the actual thing,” one Twitter user wrote, adding, “Happy International Women’s Day from Ariana Grande and Starbucks. You’re doing feminism with the coffee.” Ariana only responded to say International Women’s Day is on March 8, but didn’t address the criticism further.

She later tweeted about her upcoming tour, which is going to keep her busy the next few months—we’re guessing she’s going to be drinking a lot of her own coffee when she needs a boost.

Ariana Grande Opens Up to Fans About How Music 'Saved Her Life' in an Emotional Instagram

Ariana Grande is busy preparing for her Sweetener tour, which kicks off in about two weeks on March 18. But before she starts playing stadiums all over the country, she took some time to thank her fans for all of their support during an emotional year.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday night, Grande expressed her gratitude for friends, family, and fans who have stood by her.

“‘Bout to embark on my third tour and am for sure deep as fuck in my feelings and getting my period so…. this is probably gonna be too much,” she wrote. “But I just want to say how grateful I am for my life, for the people in it, for the ups and challenges, for the laughter and the pain, for this music and for the lifelong friendships I’ve made thru making it (that includes my friendship with y’all).”

The singer has had a lot to reckon with recently. She spent a lot of time healing from a terrorist attack that killed multiple fans at her Manchester Arena concert in May 2017. She also ended her short engagement to comedian Pete Davidson, following the death of her ex-boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller. In between, she had to answer to legitimate criticism about how she’s used cultural signifiers in her music, got in a public back-and-forth with the Grammys, and fought/forgave the TV host Piers Morgan. It was a lot, especially in a year in which she released two albums and won her first-ever Grammy.

“I cant really fathom all that has happened over the past few years. I don’t even really know where i’m going with this post but I’m just grateful to be here still. And excited to see you. I’m prolly gonna cry a lot,” she continued. “A few months ago I told my team I wasn’t even in an okay enough place to tour or work at all and my friends, you guys and this music really saved my life and turned everything around.”

Her fans responded with lots of love and support. “I admire you for being such a good, kind, real, positive and very strong person. You’re just perfect,” one fan responded.

Grande was honest about the fact that she’s still working through some difficulties, but her overall message was a testament of how she’s trying to approach the future with a positive outlook.

“I’m still healing but I feel a lot lighter as of late and I think this is really going to be such a beautiful time,” she said.

Ariana Grande Explains Why She Tweeted 'Trash’ During the Grammys

Ariana Grande didn’t attend the Grammys Sunday night (February 10), but she certainly had the entire Internet talking. She first did this by posting several photos of herself lounging around in the Zac Posen dress she planned on wearing to the ceremony. (Grande was slated to perform, but she opted out after reported creative differences with Grammys producers.) She raised eyebrows during the actual ceremony, though, by tweeting a series of pointed messages after her ex-boyfriend, the late Mac Miller, lost Best Rap Album to Cardi B.

Here’s what happened, according to People. Shortly after Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy scooped up Best Rap Album, Grande tweeted—and then deleted—the words “literal bullshit,” “fuck,” and “trash.” A few fans read this as Grande shading Cardi B, but she later clarified the comments.

“Nothing to do with her. Good for her. I promise. I’m sorry,” Grande tweeted, according to People. She then added, “She’s not at all [trash] and that’s not what I meant and you know that.” Again, all these messages have since been deleted.

Here’s a screen grab of one of Grande’s tweets:

Twitter

“It has nothing to do with Cardi,” a source tells People. Rather, Grande is reportedly upset Miller’s parents, Karen Meyer and Mark McCormick, attended the show—per the Grammys’ invitation—and he didn’t win.

When a fan pointed this out on Twitter, Grande replied, “This. This is what I meant. Karen was gonna have a green suit made.” (This tweet has also been deleted.)

Ariana Grande released her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, this past Friday, February 8. Fans think she references Miller throughout the album, particularly on a song called “Ghostin.” “I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again over him / I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again / ‘Stead of ghostin’ him,” she sings, which some theorize is her alluding to missing Miller when she was with her most recent ex, Pete Davidson. Ariana Grande Didn't Go to the 2019 Grammys, But She Still Wore Her Zac Posen Gown

While the 2019 Grammys were a star-studded event, there was one pop star noticeably missing: Ariana Grande. She was originally supposed to perform at the ceremony, but pulled out following a creative dispute with the show’s producers—and it caused drama. (You can catch up on all of it here.) But Grande already had a dress picked out—custom made, even—and she wasn’t about to let it hang in her closet, unworn.

On Sunday night, Grande got all dressed up in the gown Zac Posen made for her and staged a photoshoot, presumably in her apartment, to capture all the angles of this look.

“when @zacposen makes u a custom gown it doesn’t matter if you’re singing or not… thank u,” she captioned one image.

Even though she wasn’t in attendance, Grande did take home a Grammy, for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Because she wasn’t there to accept the award in person, she shared her thanks on Instagram: “I know I’m not there tonight (trust, I tried and still truly wished it had worked out TBH) and I know i said I try not to put too much weight into these things …. but fuck …….this is wild and beautiful. Thank you so much.”

The trophy is nice, obviously. But judging by how fun this impromptu shoot looked, Grande had a winning Sunday evening regardless of whether she won her category. May we all bring this energy with us into Monday.
