Ariana Grande Just Updated a Tattoo She Got With Pete Davidson

Ariana Grande kicks off her Sweetener World Tour tonight (March 18) in Albany, New York, and she marked the occasion in a very Ariana Grande way: with a new tattoo.

After finishing late-night rehearsals, Grande hit up her regular tattoo artist Mira Mariah, a.k.a. @girlknewyork, for the latest addition to her ever-evolving body art. The new leaves on her upper torso surround the “always” tattoo she got during her relationship with Pete Davidson. (He also got a matching one at the time.) Grande insists she’s not trying to cover anything up, though—the “always” tattoo is still totally visible inside one of the new leaves.

“Post run thrus, 3 am with @girlknewyork 🙂 not a cover up just evolvin ? also, our show opens tomorrow,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love u and i’m so grateful. see u soon.” Mariah said of her latest creation, “Middle of the night leaves on the queen. I love you thank you this is all! So! Exciting! Happy tour ???”

Grande has covered up at least some of her Davidson-era ink. A few months ago, she had Myron—the name of Mac Miller’s dog—placed over the tattoo she got of Davidson’s father’s firefighter badge number. She also replaced her “Reborn” tattoo with a feather.

Of course, none of these tattoo stories top when she tried to get “7 Rings” inked on her hand in Japanese kanji, but a mistake made it actually read “tiny barbecue grill.” She promptly had it fixed. “Thanks to my tutor for helping me fix and to @kanenavasard for being a legend. And to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). RIP tiny charcoal grill. Miss you man. I actually really liked u,” she posted at the time.

Grande’s Sweetener World Tour is expected to run from March to October and will cover both North America and Europe.

Pete Davidson Opened Up About 'Girlfriend' Kate Beckinsale on 'SNL'

Pete Davidson commented on his relationship with actress Kate Beckinsale during Saturday Night Live‘s “Weekend Update” segment last night (March 9). Though the comedian didn’t mention her explicitly by name, he fully acknowledged his love life following his split from Ariana Grande after host Colin Jost asked him about his new “girlfriend.”

“Anything else going on?” Jost asked Davidson, who smiled coyly. “No, I’m good, I don’t think so,” he replied.

“Not like a new girlfriend situation at all, Pete?” Jost asked again, which prompted Davidson, 25, to talk about Beckinsale, 45—and call out the media’s “crazy” fascination with their 20-year age gap. “Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference,” he added. “It doesn’t really bother us.”

“But then again, I’m new to this, so if you have questions about relationships with a big age difference, just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Disick, Dane Cook…” he went on, listing of a bunch of other men who have dated women much younger than them.

It’s an incredibly valid point—most people don’t even think about a large age gap when it’s an older-man-younger-woman situation.

Check out the clip below:

Davidson and Beckinsale first sparked romance rumors in January after they were seen flirting at a 2019 Golden Globes afterparty. They were also spotted out and about together in New York City a handful of times before confirming their relationship with a kiss at a recent hockey game.

Cheers to the happy couple—and the reminder that age is, after all, just a number.

Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson’s Relationship: A Complete Timeline

Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson‘s relationship is the most surprising celebrity coupling to happen since, well, Davidson’s relationship with Ariana Grande. Everyone was thrown for a loop when the Saturday Night Live star and the British actress were seen flirting at a post–Golden Globes party. They’ve kept things low-key since then, but there have been a few public outings that suggest their affection is at least growing. From kissing at a hockey game (sorry, Antoni) to a rumored vacation with friends, these two are shaping up to be the It Couple of 2019. If they’re even dating, of course. Keep in mind neither has formally confirmed their relationship status. But they’re captivating the entire Internet, even still.

Below, a complete timeline of Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson’s whirlwind romance:

January 8, 2019: Beckinsale and Davidson are spotted leaving a Golden Globes after-party together. “They were being very flirty together. They were sitting very close on the outside patio seating,” a source told Page Six. “Kate had her hand on his knee, and she kept laughing at all his jokes.”

January 10, 2019: Beckinsale slyly responds to an Instagram commenter who took a dig at her and Davidson. “Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson,” the person wrote underneath a photo Beckinsale uploaded of her mom, Judy Loe. She simply responded, “No, that’s my mother. Easy mistake.”

January 14, 2019: Davidson low-key references Beckinsale at one of his stand-up shows. Us Weekly reports that when an audience member shouted Beckinsale’s name, Davidson “smiled sheepishly” and said one very telling word: “yes.”

February 4, 2019: Davidson and Beckinsale are photographed holding hands yet again.

February 8, 2019: Davidson’s ex-fiancĂ©e Ariana Grande gives his relationship with Beckinsale her seal of approval. When asked by a TMZ cameraman what she thinks of the union, she responded, “So cute!”

February 10, 2019: Rumors spread the two are planning a holiday together. Specifically, a trip with friends to somewhere like Hawaii or Bali. “They want to keep things low-key—Kate is recovering from being hospitalized and Pete just went through a really tough time very publicly—but it’s hard as they can’t keep their hands off each other in public,” a source told The Sun. “They’re planning a holiday to get away from the cameras and get to know each other better. They want to take the pressure off and see where the relationship will go.”

February 12, 2019: A story comes out in Heat magazine with more details about Beckinsale and Davidson. “Pete is absolutely besotted…. He’s been showering her with gifts and burning up her phone,” a source told the publication. However, this person doesn’t seem to think the relationship will last. “She’ll get bored eventually and move on like she always does,” the source added. “That’ll leave Pete nursing a broken heart because he always falls hard and fast like this. Look at what happened with Ariana.”

February 16, 2019: Beckinsale shuts down yet another stranger who made a rude comment about her and Davidson. “Disappointed in your dating choices,” the user wrote, to which she replied, “Pretty let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say.”

March 4, 2019: Beckinsale and Davidson have their first public kiss. At a New York Rangers hockey game. This pic of the two of them plus Queer Eye‘s Antoni Porowski has since become a viral meme.

March 5, 2019: More details about their relationship emerge. “Kate’s very into Pete,” an insider tells E! News. “You wouldn’t necessarily put them together, but it’s working for now. She’s excited about getting to know him and hoping to spend more time with him.” The source added, “He always has her laughing, and that’s a good feeling to have. They talk a lot and never run out of things to say.”

Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson Are Now Making Out in Public

Ever since they reportedly left a Golden Globes party together back in January, rumors have been rampant that Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson are dating. While neither has spoken outright about whether or not they’re together, the pair was caught holding hands exiting a Los Angeles comedy club a few weeks back. Also, Beckinsale hilariously shut down a social media troll who was “disappointed” in her dating choices.

After spending a weekend out and about in New York City, there’s no doubt Beckinsale and Davidson have a lot of affection for each other, at the very least. Cameras captured them walking around, holding hands, and with their arms around each other.

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily prove anything, but they also showed off some serious PDA at a New York Rangers hockey game. Behold, a public kiss:

The (maybe) couple seems super happy to be spending time together. People reports that Beckinsale joined Davidson for this week’s Saturday Night Live after party. At a recent event celebrating her new DuJour magazine cover, Beckinsale was asked to describe her ideal man. “Funny. I like funny,” she told Extra. The actress also has a wicked sense of humor—just look at her Instagram feed—so that’s not a shocker.

She’s also known for a well-placed comment—like when she responded to a troll who said, “Dear Heavens Kate, not Pete Davidson” with “No, that’s my mother. Easy mistake.” (This happened underneath a photo of Beckinsale’s mom, but the commenter chose to ignore that and just make a dig at her rumored relationship with Davidson.)

Davidson hasn’t spoken publicly about Beckinsale, but given the way his relationship with Ariana Grande played out, there’s a good chance she’ll make it into his stand-up routines or an SNL appearance.

The couple does, however, has his ex’s approval—if they even care. When asked by a TMZ cameraman how she feels about Davidson and Beckinsale dating, Grande said, “So cute!”

Kate Beckinsale Shut Down a Troll Who Is 'Disappointed' She's Dating Pete Davidson

Kate Beckinsale isn’t here for strangers on the Internet passing judgment on her reported relationship with Pete Davidson. The Underworld actress took to Instagram over the weekend to shut down a troll who said he’s “disappointed” in her dating choices.

Here’s what happened: Beckinsale posted a selfie on Saturday, February 16, that had nothing to do with her love life, but someone in the comments section decided to make it about her love life. “Disappointed in your dating choices,” the user wrote.

Beckinsale didn’t take this lying down, though. She hit back with a little shade of her own. “Fairly let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say,” she replied. Check out this exchange, courtesy of Comments by Celebs, for yourself, below.

The comments section was soon flooded with people coming to Beckinsale‘s defense. “You don’t actually know either of them personally, and I seriously doubt you ever will,” wrote one person. “Why the hell do you care? WTF?” replied another. A third fan responded: “Your relationships are none of our business, but I do hope you find happiness because nothing is more important.”

Earlier this year Beckinsale hilariously replied to another Instagram user who shaded her relationship with Davidson. The person in question wrote, “Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson,” underneath a throwback photo of Beckinsale’s mom, to which she replied, “No that’s my mother. Easy mistake.”

Davidson and Beckinsale were first spotted chatting at a Golden Globes after-party in January. The next month they were seen holding hands leaving Davidson’s stand-up show in West Hollywood.

It’s been a few months since Davidson’s highly publicized relationship with Ariana Grande ended. The Thank U, Next singer seemingly gave Davidson’s new union her seal of approval two weeks ago. When a paparazzo asked her what she thought about Beckinsale and Davidson dating, she simply replied, “So cute!”

Ariana Grande Wrote a Version of 'Thank U, Next' Where She Ends Up With Pete Davidson

Ariana Grande dropped Thank U, Next on Friday, and the album’s already a hit. Within minutes of its drop, fans started dissecting all the lyrics—especially on the heartbreaking single “Ghostin’.” These Internet sleuths think it’s about Grande’s complex emotions about Mac Miller’s death while dating Pete Davidson. Then there’s the title track, “Thank U, Next,” which really lays it out there when it comes to her exes.

But Grande has been working so hard on her album—she reportedly turned it around in two weeks—that we haven’t gotten a whole lot of backstory on all of the songs yet. As it turns out, there’s even more to “Thank U, Next” than the lyrics imply: The singer revealed in a recent interview on The Zach Sang Show that she wrote multiple versions of the song, including one where she winds up with Davidson.

Yep, you read that right.

First, a quick refresher on the lyrics—if you don’t have them memorized yet, that is. She name checks each of her exes in the song (which they got to preview before it dropped).

Thought I’d end up with Sean

But he wasn’t a match

Wrote some songs about Ricky

Now I listen and laugh

Even almost got married

And for Pete, I’m so thankful

Wish I could say, “Thank you” to Malcolm

‘Cause he was an angel

Things were in a tricky spot with Davidson when she was writing the song—they were ending their relationship, after all—so she decided to cover her bases. (Smart!) Grande says she wrote alternate lyrics, one of which didn’t name the exes.

“I was also trying to be protective,” she said in the interview. “In my relationship [with Pete] at the time, things were like up and down and on and off, and so I didn’t know what was going to happen and then we got back together, so I had to make a different version of it, and then we broke up again, so we ended up going with that verse.”

“There’s a version where I was getting married, there’s a version where I’m not getting married, there’s a version with nothing—we’re not talking about anything,” she added. “But we all knew that the first version was gonna be the version we ultimately went with.”

Grande added that she was, understandably, nervous about putting such an intimate song out into the world. “It was a big risk and a very scary thing to do, because it is my life,” she says. “I understand that to a lot of people, I’m not a real person, or it’s easy to just kind of like see me as like, a song or a picture or like, a thing that kind of exists in their head and they know what they know and that’s it. But at the end of the day, these are people and relationships. It’s real shit to me. It is real life and I spent a lot of time with each of those people…it was like scary to put in a song.”

Arianators, you can check out the full interview, below. She goes in-depth about how she made the album—but get some popcorn ready, because it’s about an hour and a half long.
