This New Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams Interview Adds Fuel to a Big ‘Game of Thrones’ Theory


When I wake up in the morning, my first thought is, Who’s going to win the Iron Throne on Game of Thrones? OK, that’s an exaggeration, but I am curious, as are the millions of people who watch Game of Thrones. Last week we published a theory positing that it’s Daenerys Targaryen who ends up on the Iron Throne when it’s all said and done. But it’s a new day, and there’s a new theory suggesting that—wait for it—Sansa Stark nabs the throne by the series finale.

The evidence? A new Rolling Stone interview with Sophie Turner (Sansa) and Maisie Williams (Arya). What Turner says and Rolling Stone writes both suggest things turn out well for Sansa in the GoT finale. Read this excerpt, below:

“The things that girl has gone through are just unbelievable and
awful,” [Turner] says. Sansa’s was a slow journey toward mastery of her
environment; she was always smarter than she might have seemed, with
Turner showing us just how acutely she examined her world through
crystalline blue eyes.

This might not seem like much, but pair it with this excerpt in which we learn Turner was so happy with the GoT ending, she hung up the storyboard of the final scene in her house:

She was particularly moved when [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] presented her with a
storyboard of their favorite Sansa scene, which happened to be her
very last scene of the entire show. Tur­ner already has it hanging at
home; no one’s noticed.

So what in that scene was so exciting it propelled Turner to display it proudly? Winning the Iron Throne, perhaps? At this point, it’s the only explanation that comes to my mind.

Of course, this is all hearsay, but compare it with what Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) said last year about how Game of Thrones ends for her character. “It fucked me up,” she told Vanity Fair. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is.”

It’s clear from this Clarke is not pleased with Daenerys’ trajectory, which means the Iron Throne probably isn’t in her cards. That leaves it wide open for Sansa Stark, and I hope she claims it.

We’ll find out the answer for sure when Game of Thrones returns Sunday, April 14, at 8:00 P.M. on HBO.

Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner, Nick Jonas, and Joe Jonas Are on Another Fabulous Vacation Together


Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Sophie Turner, and Joe Jonas continue to be living their best lives…and thankfully documenting it all for us to see on social media. The couples—along with fellow Jonas Brother, Kevin, who attended without his wife, Danielle—spent a day on a yacht in Miami, relaxing and filming impromptu “Sucker” videos.

This isn’t the first time the group has vacationed together, of course. The foursome spent the holidays together skiing in Switzerland. They love to double date everywhere from the U.S. Open in New York to romantic dinners in London. Then there was Chopra’s Amsterdam bachelorette party, where she and Turner dubbed themselves the “J Sisters.” Not to mention, Chopra and Nick’s lavish wedding ceremonies and parties in India last fall.

Now the unofficial “Sucker” world tour is hitting south Florida. Nick posted a photo of the crew with the caption, “Friends and rare days off on a Monday.”

Chopra, whose YouTube series “If I Could Tell You Just One Thing” debuts on March 27, said it was the “Best day off ever!!! @nickjonas @joejonas @sophiet #jsisters ❤️☀️???”

They took to dancing on their yacht to, what else, “Sucker.”

They also threw on Kacey Musgraves‘ “Golden Hour.”

And Joe serenaded the boat with a solo number.

Thanks to one of Nick’s posts, it seems they might be in town shooting a new Jonas Brothers video. No word on whether Turner and Chopra will be making another appearance.

Newlyweds Chopra and Jonas couldn’t help but get a little romantic, as they’re known to do. Chopra captioned a sweet photo of the couple kissing, “Making hay while the sun shines.. ☀️” While Jonas wrote, “You are my sunshine my only sunshine… #miami.”

Let it never be said that this group doesn’t know how to let loose and have a good time.

‘Game of Thrones’ Star Sophie Turner Chugs Wine at a Hockey Game ‘For the Starks’


We’re less than a month out from the premiere of the final season of Game of Thrones. While we don’t know who will reign on the Iron Throne when all is said and done, Sophie Turner is out here doing her best to reign over our hearts. She’s starring in Jonas Brothers videos, slamming Piers Morgan over his tweets about mental health, and skiing with future sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra.

Now she’s chugging wine in the name of the Starks (her Game of Thrones family, for the uninitiated). Turner and her fiancé, Joe Jonas, were attending a New York Rangers game when she was shown on the Jumbotron screen. Instead of shying away from the camera, Turner did a little dab move, raised a fist and her glass of red wine, which she then downed as the crowd went wild. Even wine-loving queen Cersei Lannister would have to admit she’s proud of Sansa in that moment.

Turner posted a video of the stunt on Instagram with the caption, “Send it for the starks ?.”

Her comments section quickly lit up like a who’s who of Hollywood. “Hahahhaha ammmmmazing,” wrote Vanessa Hudgens. Drake said, “Wow inspiration for 2020 and beyond.” Ashley Graham dubbed Turner “my girl.” Meanwhile, the JoBros weighed in on a Barstool Sports post of the same video, as captured by Comments By Celebs. “Oh my god,” Nick said. Joe kept it simple with the ? emoji.

As with all things GoT, there will surely be a Reddit thread dedicated to theorizing what Turner’s caption tells us about Sansa’s fate on the show. But whatever happens to the Stark family and Winterfell, Sansa will be with Turner forever. “When I started playing Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, I was 13,” she said recently. “Now the series has finished filming and I’m 23, so it feels like I grew up with the character. She’s part of me.”

The Jonas Brothers Release a Video for their New Song "Sucker" Starring Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner, and Danielle Jonas


The Jonas Brothers are back, baby. The trio dropped their new single and accompanying video for “Sucker” at midnight—and it stars three very important women in their lives: Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner, and Danielle Jonas.

The song is an ode to being so head over heels for someone you’ll do anything they ask. With lyrics like “I’m a sucker for you / Say the word and I’ll go anywhere blindly / Any road you take you know that you’ll find me” and “You’re making the typical me / Break my typical rules,” the JoBros are putting their love for their partners on display. Chopra and Nick Jonas got married last year; Game of Thrones star Turner and Joe are engaged; and Danielle and Kevin have been married since 2009 and have two children together.

The women take on co-starring roles in the video, as well, set at a lavish party at a European manor. There is serious fashion, lots of dancing, drinking champagne in bathtubs, and what appears to be a low-key bondage moment where Joe is tied up as Turner looks on.

“This is the first time we’ve worked together but not for a moment did it feel like work,” Chopra wrote on Instagram. ‘Such a fun family affair…#JonasBrothers and the #JSisters cheering each other on! Proud of you husband.” Turner and Danielle also gave shout-outs to their “J Sisters,” the nickname the women have given themselves on social media.

Fans are naturally freaking out on social media, too.

And they were very much here for the fact that the JoBros featured the loves of their lives in the video. “Wow who knew Danielle, Priyanka and Sophie are my new favorite Jonas brothers???” wrote one user. “The jonas brothers using their wives in the Sucker music video is the content i’m here for,” said another.

Sophie Turner Wasn't Allowed to Wash Her Hair While Filming Game of Thrones


The hair sagas of the women of Westeros continue as Sophie Turner just revealed that she wasn’t allowed to wash her hair while filming certain seasons of Game of Thrones. And all this after the natural blond spent years alternating colors between her born-with-it shade and Sansa Stark’s eye-catching red.

During an interview with InStyle, the actress spilled her “dirty” secret. After being asked about how the men on the show were famously forbidden from washing their hair so it looked more in-character, Turner revealed this fun fact: “For the first few seasons I was allowed to wash my hair because I was an aristocratic young girl, but towards season 5 they started asking me to not wash my hair and it was really disgusting. Now I wear I wig so I can wash my hair whenever I want, which is nice. But yes, for a couple of years I was living with pretty greasy hair.”

That sounds less than fun, but honestly it’s not the worst thing that’s happened to her poor head. “A few years ago I was trying to go back from red to blond, and it destroyed my hair to the point that I had to use a wig for Game of Thrones,” she told Glamour in November. “They wouldn’t let me dye it back red or my hair would’ve fallen out.”

Apparently, being on the biggest show is the world is a real detriment to the beauty routines of its female stars including Turner’s co-star Emilia Clarke, who chopped her hair short after damage inflicted while filming. “My hair was, like, dying!” she said last fall after chopping it into a pixie. “So I’ve cut it a little bit shorter. It’s almost the shortest it’s been. I’m honestly trying to grow out the blond, because it’s just killed my hair, and I miss having nice hair.”

Thankfully they’ve have adapted quite nicely—courtesy of some serious masking tips. “The biggest thing [to keeping my hair healthy] is WellaPlex,” Turner told Glamour. “It’s a hair mask that you put on, leave in for 10 minutes, and then wash out. It repairs the bonds in your hair so that it doesn’t just feel strong and healthy, it actually is stronger and healthier afterward. I use it every week, because with the job I have, it’s a lot of dyeing, straightening, curling, and heat damage. I’ll put in on after showering, watch a bit of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and then I go back and wash it off.”

And it definitely looks like it’s paying off.

Sophie Turner Totally Shut Down Piers Morgan Over His Tweets About Mental Health


Piers Morgan is stirring up controversy again—and Sophie Turner is having none of it. Morgan’s latest scuffle comes after he retweeted a story from The Sun which quoted British actress Beverley Callard as saying, “Real mental illness is very dark and it takes a great deal of strength to ask for help. I think we are now definitely chipping away at the stigma. But we have to be careful mental illness doesn’t become like a Gucci handbag. There is a danger it can become ‘fashionable’.”

“She’ll be hammered for saying this, but it’s 100% true,” Morgan commented with the retweet.

But Turner had a response ready for Morgan: “Or maybe they have a platform to speak out about it and help get rid of the stigma of mental illness which affects 1 in 4 people in UK per year,” she tweeted. “But please go ahead and shun them back into silence. Twat.”

She’s right. Conversations that normalize mental health issues and help do away with the stigmas attached to them are always important—not fodder for jokes.

This isn’t the first time Turner has used her social media platforms to speak out about mental health. In support of World Suicide Prevention Day in September she wrote, “You’re stronger than you think. You will get through this. You’re so loved. You are NOT a burden. #WorldSuicidePreventationDay”

As for Morgan, this is just the latest in a long line of controversial views and Twitter arguments with a young woman at the center. Back in November, he got into it with Ariana Grande (and her mom, Joan) on Twitter over how and when women should put their sexuality on display. Grande also clapped back brilliantly, writing, “I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next.”
